We stopped by to get a family pack of fried chicken with fries and mashed potatoes. You would have never known that we were the only ones in the store because of poor service. The employees we so busy either joking around with each other or arguing with each other that no one was able to provide service. Once I was able to get my food I went over to get napkins and straws and of course the staff had been to busy to keep them stocked. If I was just reviewing the food I would have given 4 stars but the service was so bad that I could not go any higher than 3 stars.

My husband and I have swung by Popeyes a few times when we are in Columbia since there isn't a location near where we live. Even though I love Popeyes chicken, this place is sad. I think the nicest people in the joint are the cashier (older woman with nice fingernails and the bus boy.) It's sad but everyone in the kitchen just looks like they are taking their sweet time and nothing is getting accomplished. Each time we have been, the chicken has been really dry to the point that the chicken tenders are almost like jerky. My husband can normally eat a 8 piece by himself but each time he could only muster up enough energy to eat one piece. We haven't been back in a few weeks even though we go to Columbia weekly. I think we will stick with the location in Rock Hill. It's an hour drive but it's totally worth it there.

Let me just start off my saying that in general I absolutely love Popeye's chicken! But this experience was just...Meh....When we walked in before we could even order the guy behind the counter asked if we could wait because he just had a rush of people and was tired!?!?!!? We finally managed to get him enough energy to take our order and I decided to try the strips my friend had a two piece meal with white meat. The chicken was juicy and crispy with those perfectly buttered biscuits...YUM! So I mean the food was good, our order was wrong but after what we experienced walking in we just chalked it up as a loss! I am still a huge fan of Popeye's but not a fan of this location.

This has to be the worst managed and staffed Popeyes I have ever had the misfortune of wasting my money at. I have been eating at this same location regularly, for the last 6 years, but this is my first visit since the remodel. When we entered, there was a large, noisy crowd of employees around the registers. As we began attempting to order, it became painfully obvious the the man taking our order (later revealed to be Nate, the manager) was not paying attention to what we were saying. After my friend had been asked to repeat his order three times, he asked if we could have someone else take our order, due to his lack of attentiveness. Nate asked a female employee to take our order, which she did quickly and accurately. It became clear that Nate, the first male cashier has gotten an attitude about our request, due to his refusing to take my friend's creditcard when it was offered. This required the second, female employee to come back and swipe the card, as well. My friend stated that we didn't need the attitude, to which he sharply responded, "I don't have an attitude, SIR! Smilin' at ya, all day long." He finished the sentence with a maniacal smile that was both appalling and disturbing. We then went to fill up our drinks and waited, until our food was placed on the counter. I could see that only 2 of my 3 pieces of chicken were on the tray. I asked this 3rd, female employee, "Can I have a leg?" To which she she responded, "Why?" I explained that that is what I had ordered and was rebutted by her, twice, before just held the receipt up to show her. She immediately pushed my hand and the receipt away and glared at me with a gaze of pure hatred. We asked to talk to a manager when Nate, the first male cashier mentioned above, identified himself as the manager. My friend asked if that was true, in absolute disbelief. When he confirmed that he was in fact the manager, we told him what had happened and he said it was just a mistake. Nate asked the 3rd, female employee to get the leg for me. She begrudgingly complied and then turned and walked off while my friend was still mid-sentence, asking her a question. We told Nate that we would have to contact corporate, since we had no confidence in his ability or willingness to fix the issues. My friend spent our time at the table on the phone, making a formal complaint to Popeyes. Only one of my 3 pieces of chicken was spicy, as we had ordered and my friends mild chicken strips were all spicy, so he didn't even get to eat. None of the employees that I saw were wearing nametags, so I am taking "Nate" at his word that that is his real name. If you have to have Popeyes, drive to the new one on Clemson Rd. Otherwise, your time and money would be better spent on food from the gas station across the street.

Popcorn shrimp was okay. A little "overbreaded", but that is what you usually get at fast food places like this. I personally come to Popeye's for the biscuits and Red Beans & Rice.

I rarely get to eat this chicken which is usually better than bojangles. but the past several times I have came past here on my travels they clearly are not wanting repeat business. the employees acrt as if they hate working there and you are bothering them. they speak so fast as if to rush you and get you out of their face. the strips or tenders are gross, dry and no real flavor. and expensive! over $6 for 3 strips a small fry and a regular drink???? I could get a ton of stuff at taco bell next door for that. plus the fact I received one full strip and 2 rejects that were a little bigger than a nugget. they NEVER ever have the cajun sparkle - that if you are a popeye conesur you are fully aware that this stuff is like CRACK- gotta have it! since I dont have a popeyes within 50 miles of me I have resorted to making my own cajun sparkle and its really close match! this location is just a horrible example of the addicting chicken place I love. so i suggest if you plan on going by one of these place, check online to their website for a coupon and print it off. save your self a lot of cash! this will be my last visit to this location!

Nothing major with a popeyes visit. The spicy chicken was great and as usual the fries were goooos. The service was great. We'll definitely visit again.

If you like extra crunchy breaded chicken and crispy seasoned fries, Popeyes is what you're looking for. Great selection of side dishes are a plus and the buttered biscuits are among the best!
