We have been coming here 14-15 years. Always good food. Somehow it's the same cook everytime. I guess that's why it food is consistently great. Prices are very reasonable and at lunch it's a great price. My wife usually gets the hibachi chicken and i get the "bun gar" off the Vietnamese menu. This is a family owned and operated restaurant with great service as well. On Sunday after church it gets packed and it does get a little loud. If people would stop talking so loud it wouldn't be loud. However, when you pack kids and families together it gets exciting let's say. This place has always been a home run for us.

Tons of food for the money. I had the NY strip and shrimp and took home half for dinner. Two meals including drinks and salad less than 20 bucks. Great food, great value

The Bun Shrimp (It may not be on the menu but I have ordered it for years and they make it for me) is my fall time favorite meal and my husband likes it as well. We split one serving. It is so fresh and delicious. It is a Vietnamese dish and often called Vietnamese shrimp bun. Whatever it is called it is great. Their spring roll is my favorite of anyplace I have had these fresh Vietnamese spring rolls. We like the plain and the one with shrimp and especially their peanut sauce. All the foods are really good but I've told you how I feel about the Bun Shrimp so I don't try them often. The decorations are simply weird, Country Kitchen meets Asia. They desperately need to update them to Asian and give the whole place a softer atmosphere. It is always clean and the staff is always welcoming. I have never needed a reservation and am not sure they take them. They do a lot of take out.

The food here is really good, which is a surprise given the location. I had the the hibachi chicken lunch special for $6.99. They serve it with several sauces on the side. One is a pink/white sauce (called shrimp sauce where I'm from but I've seen it called white sauce or yum yum sauce, and in Fargo ND they didn't even know what I was talking about when I asked for it, but I digress), a chunky ginger dressing sauce, and an oil based sweet sauce. The last one is really good, but probably horrible for my diet. All in all this place its my sweet spot of cheap, tasty, and relatively healthy (if you avoid the sauces).

This hole-in-the-wall is a great little find! They give you enough food for two meals! I haven't ordered anything that I don't like. Quick service too. Try the Bun Bo!

I have been enjoying Mikino's on and off for about 12 years now. Great place for lunch after church on Sundays as that is the only day we are on the Irmo side of town. Have also taken multiple friends there with positive results each time. Portions are not huge but right for the price.

Great for the value! It's probably 2 notches above Tokyo grill for roughly the same price. It's husband and wife that own it and you can tell they really care about the business. It's a little dark in there even during lunch but the food is really good. I recommend you trying it out.

Better than Tokyo Grill Warning - If you want real authentic Japanese Hibachi, this is not authentic. Then again that's hard to find these days. But if you want some Americanized hibachi like Tokyo Grill, this is a lot cheaper, and the food is fresh and tasty. I discovered this hole in the wall restaurant about a year ago. It's family run and small. During the weekdays, for lunch it is only around $5-6 total for a huge amount of food for lunch. I've uploaded some pictures so you can check it out. They're open lunch and dinner, closed from 2-5 which I find annoying especially when I want food during that time, but doesn't keep me from not going there. Service gets 5 out of 5; every time time I go there, as I'm eating my salad, I get my food 5 minutes later. A group of people tends to take longer, but if you go during the weekdays, you're bound to get your food faster. They tend to get packed on the weekend. Food gets 5 out of 5. I honestly don't know how they make money because they aren't greedy about giving you food. I get twice the amount of food for the money. Anyways, it's not authentic, but it's fresh, and tasty.

As a general rule, I do not go to Japanese places with stereotypical names (Sumo, Fuji, Sato, or any Japanese city for that matter) as it is a sure sign that it is not Japanese at all, but a badly themed place with teriyaki sauce. Mikino does not fit into that bill, so I thought it might be pretty authentic. When my wife and I entered, the first thing that hit us was a table next to the grill where people were virtually shouting at the top of their lungs at each other... Not in anger mind you... that was just the way they talked. I should have just left when I walked in the door, but curiosity got the better of me. I had to yell across the table to my wife and shout out my order to be heard. The volume got way out of control once the mothers came in with their infants, who I am assuming were not pleased with the yelling table and started screeching themselves. The bill of fair is the same as any other hibachi joint with no real Japanese food in sight other than the standard, instant miso soup you get at those places. There was a Vietnamese menu which intrigued me, but they don't serve Vietnamese during lunch hours. I ordered hibachi sea scallops and my wife ordered the jumbo shrimp. My image of scallops are they should be at least the circumference of a dollar coin, but these were about the size of a nickel. My wife's "Jumbo" shrimp were actually a little smaller than your average cocktail shrimp. If I bought them at walmart, they would have been the medium sized. The sauce everything was glazed in was also a little too sweet for my tastes. I wolfed down my food as fast as I could to get out of that experience (the food and the volume.. Although the second was beyond the control of the restaurant). On a side note, while I was there I saw a lot of signs that said "no coupons" which I thought was odd. Once I got home, I was browsing through my coupon book (the ones you pay $25 for), and they had coupons for that place. If I would have come with a coupon, I think I would've been pissed. The only compliment I have for that place was that the staff was really busting their butts to help everyone. So I left a nice tip...

Worst Japanese food I've ever had! Terrible not worth my time writing a review. But with four stars I had to weigh in. Go to Celia's next door that place is awesome best Mexican in town.
