This is not going to be a review of the food because no matter which Lizard's Thicket you go to it's pretty much gonna be just O.K. The food is going to be mostly the same every time, and if you like very basic country cooking you will probably be pleased. We go to this location because it's close to our house and for the occasional lazy night or "bad food" craving it's better than average fast food (at least you are getting vegetables). But I can't bite my tongue any longer about the fact that every single time we go through the drive thru or even go inside to get take out, something on our order is wrong. I have stopped going through the drive thru all together because getting home to discover items are missing or wrong is infuriating. Especially when you call management and they have you dig the order slip out of the trash just to tell you "well it was on the slip" even though it was completely different than what was ordered. On the rare occasion that I still go to this location for take out, i go inside. At least inside I can inspect the food right away more easily and get them to correct it immediately. Dining in here has never been a problem and the waitstaff are all quite nice and accommodating, we simply can't do that much. So, be warned, if you must use this location for take out food, check everything on your order before you get home and have to call management that aren't concerned in the least about your repeated bad experiences.

Best Restaurant Name Ever. Was looking for lunch while on Rt 20 in SC and was intrigued by the sign on the highway. Food was delicious - similar to Cracker Barrel but with a more homemade feel. Chicken fried steak and fried chicken were great and the sides were very tasty! I would definitely recommend the Mac and cheese, green beans, potato salad, Alabam' slaw, and cornbread dressing. All winners. For dessert the blackberry cobbler was out of this world! Staff was quick and courteous. The decor was simple but classy. We will be back the next time we pass through.

I've been coming to this particular location of Lizards Thicket for years. The food has consistently been the same. If you like good Sourhern cooking..... This is the place for you. So many different vegetables and also a daily meat special. Their friend chicken and country fried steak are wonderful. The green beans are my favorite vegetable. I could fill up eating nothing but them. But of course the fried okra and the macaroni and cheese are also great. They have a private dining room which is perfect for my Monthly Mission Group. If you're traveling to SC you definitely need to stop here to get a sample of good SC cooking. Great for families also!

ok, I have to say it... their fried chicken kicks the crap out of Bojangle's and KFC by a fairly wide margin. For reals, if you didn't have this experience, meander to the Garner's Ferry location and pick up a bucket. Their meat and three allows me to eat some actual veg and pay about the same as I would in fast food, and they are usually quick and friendly and the food hot and tasty. Their tea, though a bit too sweet for me, is really good.

Southern country cookin' is more of a religion than an actual cuisine. True believers always find it "amazingly delicious" just like religious crazy people claim the awesomeness of a god who allows them to dance with poisonous snakes. You gotta believe friend!!! This place is HORRID. It has only one singular redeeming quality and that is the niceness of the people that work there. But rest assured, that is the ONLY thing this place has going for it. If you haven't figured out that this place is a dump after the filthy sticky door leaves a mystery smudge on your hands upon entering, surely you'll figure it out when you see that they are willing to serve you full Southern meals for mere pennies. OK... I've had better food in my elementary school cafeteria. If you like canned vegetables and gravy with bottom of the barrel commercialized biscuit and cornbread mix and frozen fried chicken that was rendered from teensy mutant chickens soaked in chemicals, then this place is for you. I'd think they could manage a good biscuit at the very least. Nope. Hard and dry as a brick. The fried chicken was worse than Swanson TV dinner quality. The vegetables that came with it were pulverized into submission from steam, heat and a forlorn canning process. I read the reviews on this place and expected a good piece of fried chicken at the very least. HELL NO. I don't know who the heck wrote those reviews or what crap-hole they're used to feeding at, but the food here is sickening and only a bargain for beggars or the brain damaged. You'd do better microwaving a burrito at your local gas station than eating this "food." Their entire menu is more of a recipe for morbid obesity and an early death from heart failure than for actual "food" that would nourish your body and not make you wish you were dead after eating it.

Amazing food when I get a chance im coming back for the best service I've ever had and the best food I've ever tasted. I couldn't have enjoyed this food any better then with amazing company, and amazing waitresses. They truly love what they do here and it makes the food better. Can't wait to come back and enjoy this all over again

Good family style restaurant. Service and food has also been good in the restaurant itself. The drive thru on the other hand has on occasion messed up my order. You just have to double check to make sure you received everything you ordered.

Take out was somewhat botched last night Ordered fish and they specifically asked for tartar sauce and I said absolutely. When I got home there was no tartar sauce in the bag. I specifically said I did not need plastic silverware, but it was in the bag. The food was pretty good but had to be microwaved when I got home it was definitely room temperature in the travel distance.

The first time I went the SERVICE WAS SLOOOOOOOOW. However the food was good, right portions, not to much and it was HOT. A BIG PET PEEVE OF MINE. The second time I went Barbara was our waitress and she was a phenomenal waitress. Not mention easy on the EYES (HEHE). Once again the food was consistent, hot, good. This place is nice because they don't PILE on the food, you get just enough so you don't GORGE.

Good southern food. Omelettes are big, their fried chicken was amazing but service was a little slow. Definitely good breakfast food. I loved their country fried apples!

Very good southern dinner. Two of us had fried chicken...yummy! The other two had country fried steak. The collard greens were great. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed this place. The service was great both times that I went. The service was great and the amount of food you get is awesome. I also got the peach cobbler which I really enjoyed.

Not bad at all but I've had better Southern soul/comfort food in my life.
