Food is very good, but when I placed the take out order they said it would be ready to pick up in 15 minutes, gave them nearly 30 and still had to wait a long time. Food was boxed poorly so one box was open when I got home, egg everywhere. Go in to eat, it's much better and you can listen to old r&b.

Overall, a good place. Maybe slighly pricey for what you get. Waffles, chicken and eggs are very good. Need a better quality syrup, to really make those waffles pop.

On a Saturday before Mother's Day I thought I might have a little trouble finding somewhere to eat in Columbia. After a trip to the Coach store I figured we'd find this place before heading back to Augusta. It's located at the end of a strip mall. There was hardly any parking in the entire lot due to a club and other businesses there. We got there around 7pm. There was a nice crowd and a few parties waiting. We were told the wait was going to be 15 minutes but it was almost 30. We took advantage of the time by looking the menu over. Once seated we ordered the fried okra as an appetizer. They were fresh, hot and crispy. Mister ordered the chicken with the pecan waffle and ordered chicken with the red velvet waffle. The chicken (wings) were fried to perfection and well seasoned. I tasted Mister's waffle and it was very good. The red velvet was the winner for me. It was a light and fluffy waffle with a nice taste of red velvet. The cream cheese icing made it heaven. I don't go to Columbia often but when I do, I won't hesitate to make sure KiKi's is on the itinerary.

Food was awesome staff was friendly. Actually had the pleasure of dining in while live entertainment was going and the band was great!

The food is great when you eat there, Take out not so great, the salad seen like its salad left over. To have so many servers there, its slow, does not seen as if they are assign tables. If you ask for tarter sauce it takes them forever. But I love their fish, shrimps, fried chicken, and if you eat the salad there its fresh and great. The food is great, the service not so great when its busy.

The positive: Their chicken and waffles are AMAZING!! I get red velvet every time and the chicken is very well seasoned. The Mac and cheese was tasty as well. The cornbread is sweet (which I love) and warm and soft. The sweet potato waffle fries are sweet like a dessert-enough for a group of people to share. Sooooo yummy-and addicting. Sprinkled with crack they are. The negative: Shrimp and grits-not so much, and I'm pretty picky about my shrimp and grits. It was watery, which is weird for shrimp and grits, and the flavoring was mediocre. The middle: the salmon patties were a bit small, but not too bad in terms of flavor. Service is ok, we got silverware and extra plates after we were halfway through our sweet potato fries

Soooo, I hate when the reviews are so good that I can't resist the urge to visit a place, only to find that the current reviews are LIES! Traveled to Kiki's from Augusta, (still sitting at the table) ordered the chicken and French toast and my friend got the chicken and waffle. Although the food was fresh and piping hot, the chicken was extremely bland, which is truly shocking considering who's in the kitchen, and the waffle and French toast were nothing to write home about. Sad to say the best thing we tried was the Red Koolaid And it was BOMB but definitely not worth and hour drive.

At the recommendation of one of my clients, and thanks to the advertising KiKi's chose to place within that establishment, I was drawn to visit KiKi's Chicken and Waffles and sample their fare... WORTH EVERY EFFORT TO EAT HERE I lucked up and happened inside while the place was not packed with people, chose to listen to the servers recommendations on what to try first, and cherished every savory bite of my sweet potato waffle garnished in icing and brown sugar, along with the massive and delectable full-sized chicken wings that were cooked to perfection. WHAT A JOY TO ENJOY THIS PLACE! Not only was the cuisine divinely satisfying, but every single person I met who works there was kind, helpful, and happy to exemplify an attitude that beamed with pride for the dining experience they represent. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE You would do yourself a disservice if not to stop by and visit KiKi's.

Loved this place soon as we walked in we were greeted by our server he lead us to our seat took our drink orders and gave us a few seconds to look over the menu. All the food that was coming out the kitchen smelled sooo good we went with the chocolate chip waffles (they tasted like soft cookies) a side of grilled shrimp the red velvet waffle (was perfect didn't even need syrup) and 4wings w Mac & cheese n greens. Everything was great! As we were finishing up our meal another server approach dour table to let us know that the lady across from us had paid for the kids meals (I was so great full as I have done this a time or two or more. If by chance she reads this we will pay it forward and thank you) This was a experience with good food and great service we will be back!

Great variety on the menu. The waffle although looks heavy is surprisingly light. The fried chicken wings have flavor and the iced tea is actually brewed. I would come here with my family.

This was our first time at Kiki's. I checked-in a few minutes ago, so this is repetitive, but my experience was good! I had the side of shrimp, collard greens & macaroni and cheese, which tasted great. My husband had the chicken wings and Belgian waffle, with a side of scrambled cheese eggs, and he cleaned his plate! The sever was young, but kind and attentive enough. We also enjoyed the soul music that was playing on the restaurant's PA system.

The food was superb, but it took the wait staff too long to acknowledge and seat us. We also waited a very long time for our food to arrive.

Today was my 1st visit to Kiki's. We arrived not long after they had opened. There were only a few other customers there. We were greeted & seated immediately. Our server came over within a minute of being seated & checked on us 3 or 4 times. We both ordered the chicken & waffles. It came out quickly & piping hot. It was delicious. I've seen reviews about poor service & bland food. I received neither. The waffle was fluffy & the chicken seasoned so well that I ate my leftovers cold. Once I try more of the menu I'll may bump up to 5 stars. My only small complaint is that is was freezing cold.

A religious experience! I can't remember the last time I had food that good that made so happy.

This place doesn't come close to Roscoe's :( I was really hoping it would so everyone back home would be jealous :p I gotta admit, the waffle beats Roscoe's- fluffy and buttery! Mac n' cheese was alright- the pasta was extremely overcooked and tasted like mashed n' cheese Red rice was gross! But it turns out they served us OLD red rice!!!! It was dry and HARD. I thought it was undercooked then realized it was actually stale.. they probably were thinking that these asians can't tell difference in their soul food.. The fried chicken breast was off bone so it was pretty damn dry. I pass.

Excellent food and service. Catfish and grits is excellent. Waffles golden and great crust, chicken is flavorful.

Wow.. I'm an out of towner from California. And this beats roscoes chicken and waffles from la.. Try their red velvet it is amazing

For the second time being here and again I was blown away with the food and service!! I'll come back every trip to Columbia just for this! To top it off it was " open mic nite" and the MC hostess was great !! A GOD fearing woman and the whole flow was a sprite of GOD. My hat is tipped off to the staff and performers at Kikis!

This place is great. I'm not sure what some of these reviewers are talking about. I could give a review that just talks about how great the place is, but I'm going to respond to some of the haters instead. -Price: If $10 for chicken and waffles (enough to satisfy any reasonable appetite) is too pricy for you, it might be time to get a second job. -Service: The folks are nice here. They get busy. If you want fast food, go to Bojangles. -Food: The food is fresh, comes out hot, and tastes amazing. When did "just right" become a bad thing. I don't want exotic chicken and waffles, I want delicious chicken and waffles. These are the latter. -Location: It's clean and parking is easy to find. It's in a stip mall. If that's not fancy enough for you, Charleston is thataway *points south* (you might need a third job for that trip).

Didn't know this place had a food truck but did a happy dance when I saw it at soda city today. My very first time trying chicken and waffles and won't be my last! Chicken was so well-seasoned and piping hot with a nice crispy skin. Drizzled maple syrup over it and the waffles for the perfect fusion of savory and sweet. I was surprised at how large the portion was for only $7. I hope they open a location downtown!

From the fried chicken to the red velvet waffle, everything was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends & family.

We have friends that live in Columbia SC so we drive over from Atlanta 3 or 4 times per year. I must say...this restaurant is worth checking out if you're in town or passing through.... Delicious, southern food. We had Fried chicken and my husband had smothered beef tips. My chicken was so tender and juicy and with the mashed potatoes was a harmonic symphony of flavors. The chicken fell right off the bone. My husband's beef was so good I wanted to send my chicken back and get that instead. The staff is very nice and it was a short wait for the food. Also the portions are very generous! They could use an upgrade on the decor, though. Pretty bland and doesn't feel homey.

Terrible. Dry and flavorless chicken and waffles. Cheap syrup. Too bad since I heard about this place from many people. Service was mediocre.

Red velvet waffles were pretty good I but I'm gonna have to pass on everything else I tried here. Pretty high expeditions coming here, what a let down.

  • Michelle E.

I had high expectations, but was disappointed. My friend and I both had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was over cooked and dry. There wasn't much flavor, either. The chicken breasts seemed like they may have been frozen. It didn't taste fresh. The waffles were undercooked and when the syrup hit them, they were soggy right away. Waffles, IMHO, should have a slightly crispy exterior, a bit of a crunch. These were more like pancakes. It was also freezing in the restaurant. I was shivering by the time the check came. All in all, it was disappointing.

  • Magan C.

Yuck. I love waffles and I love chicken and together, they're fabulous. My experience at KiKi's was just not good. My chicken, if you can even call it that, was fried beyond recognition. The waffles were the same kind you get with any continental breakfast in hotel lobbies. Don't get me wrong, those waffles are great, but when I got to a spot that specializes in waffles I just expect something more. I want something to makes me want to sate my waffle craving there and honestly, I'd rather go to iHop. I won't even get into the service we received, the waitress acted like she didn't want to wait on us. I could almost deal with bad service if the food was decent, but it was garbage. I won't be back again.

Went on a Friday night when the Jazz Band was there , ordered shrimp and grits that came with a biscuit , and three wings, including my waiter was EXCELLENT ! Oh yes the sweet tea was on point!

  • Apearl C.

Meh... My uncle was really excited about taking our family to eat here. So my disappointment is partially due to his comments increasing my expectations. The chicken did not have much flavor. It was fried chicken, but it was not seasoned well or marinated. I did not want waffles so I got chicken wings and mashed potatoes. I was impressed that the potatoes were from scratch and the brown gravy was as well. None of us were really pleased or impressed. It is worth giving a try though.

  • Tish D.

Oh em gee! Everything on the menu looks awesome. I wanted chicken and waffles but I also wanted mac and cheese...but I didn't want to be a complete and total pig. I opted to be a partial pig and had the kid's chicken and waffles meal with a side of mac and cheese. The waffle was sooo good and the chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The mac and cheese was ok but I don't like that custard type mac and cheese. Dinner service was super fast. Next time I'm in town I will definitely return.

This place has great food! No doubt about it. We loved the red velvet waffles and the sweet potato fries. My only gripe is the wait time. My party had quite about a 15 minute wait just to be acknowledged by a server. Then another 10 for our order to be taken. The restaurant was very busy. Im sure that had something to do with it. Still, we would have appreciated an acknowledgment, an explanation, and a cool drink while we waited. Overall...great experience and we will be back to support this great little local eatery!

The best chicken and waffle place in columbia, sc. If you are in the area it is a must stop

The best chicken and corn muffins!!!!!

  • Mary B.

I've been here twice. The chicken is pretty good (however a little salty and came out piping hot which was a plus. I ordered the regular waffle which wasn't anything special. It didn't have much flavor. The first time I visited the service was absolutely awful. The waitress was extremely slow and acted like she didn't want to be there. The second time, the service was better but the food was the same.

    (2)
  • M A W.

Talk about a LIGHT waffle! I've traveled all over and have never had a waffle this light! It was the BEST! I had the red velvet waffle. I chose not to put syrup on ot which enabled me to enjoy the waffle even more!!! I enjoyed the waffle so much I almost forgot about the chicken. Service was great! Everyone was friendly. I called before driving there.

  • Britteny T.

The service was terrible. Our waitress obviously forgot to ring in our food since the five tables around us that were seated after us had gotten their food and almost finished by the time we received ours. My order was incorrect and my friend ordered fish that was so heavily filled with bones it was inedible. We never received a refill in the TWO HOURS we were there. After waiting forty five minutes to receive our check, I finally got up and walked to the back to ask someone to find our server so we could pay instead of just walking out in the bill. Never eating here again

Chicken seasoned sooo good you may slap yourself!!! Waffles fluffy warm and filling. Makes you want to come back for more. Top of the line.

  • Pinky R.

The prices and services, pretty good. The red velvet waffle was absolutely delicious. The chicken wasnt the best I've had but it was fresh and cooked well. I would go back to try other things and give a more broader review, but for what I had it was worth the visit.

  • Michele T.

Food was delicious and service was good. Also, the dining room was spacious, clean and the speakers were playing great 70's soul music. Overall it was a very nice dining experience for me, I will definitely be going back.

  • Dawn R.

I didn't try the waffles but the chicken was excellent. It was also nice to see what seemed more like baked mac and cheese and not boxed stove top. I wasn't greatly impressed with the dining area. The dining area had old carpet on it but the music was nice and the service seemed fine too.

  • Kim P.

Awesome! I am a road warrior and look for local family run establishment like this place. Worth the 2.5 mile drive to get out of hotel. I had to choose from the smothered chicken or waffles and chicken with collar greens and mac& cheese. Picked waffles and chicken. Now I have to return next time in Columbia so I can get the smothered chicken

  • Food Gives Me Joy H.

Good food but too slow service for lunch. Paint is unfinished so makes it look unkept...ppl with me didn't seem like they would return but I will.

    (3)
  • Linda K.

Their red velvet waffle is delicious! But their chicken is ok. Sometimes it's seasoned good and sometimes is bland. The waffle is way too small for the $13 plus tax which is a little under $15+tip

  • KeiKei B.

The chicken, the chicken, the chicken! This bird is really good and flavorful. I love to eat breakfast here but go for the menu--chicken and waffles. I have always had great customer service here and loved my waitress everytime. We live about 40 minutes from the place so going there is big for us as we are foodies and love great food. They could use an upgrade on the decor, though. Pretty bland and doesn't feel homey. The bar is not that easy on the eyes, either. But hey, we go for the food! We make sure to visit at least once a month as fried foods are not good on the hips! But for that greasy goodness go to KiKi's!

  • Jason B.

Best waffles you have ever had. Chicken is cooked perfect. Eggs are less to be desired, but grits make up for it.

    (4)
  • CC W.

Amazing, delicious, made with love southern food. We had carry-out smothered chicken and chicken and waffles. My smothered chicken was so tender and juicy and with the mashed potatoes was a harmonic symphony of flavors. The chicken and waffles was perfect. The chicken fell right off the bone. They were very nice inside and it was a short wait for the food. Also the portions are very generous!

    (5)
  • M W.

Best wings I've ever had. The red velvet waffle is to die for. Don't waste your time with the loaded fries, they should be taken off the menu. French toast is also good.

    (5)
  • Ne'Cole V.

Wasn't impressed at all. The waffles were bland. The chicken was ok. Also, there was only one type of syrup. The environment was terrible and the bathrooms were the worst I have seen in a restaurant. Pricey at $10 for 4 wings and a waffle. Profit margin is astronomical here. You would think being in Columbia, they would not price their food like they were Gladys Knights place. I'm sure Gladys's place is much more sophisticated, and more inviting. Definitely will not be going back.

  • Cody M.

Where do I begin...this place has the best chicken and waffles I have ever tasted. The waffles are light and melt in your mouth. The chicken is seasoned and cooked perfectly...bursting with flavor. I love going here. I have been going at least once a week. I think I am addicted.

    (5)
  • Julius H.

Had the chicken and waffles, both were pretty good. Service was good and prices were great, not expensive at all. Would recommend for anyone to drop by.

  • Kendall N.

There is a lite odor to the place that is unpleasant. The ceiling is dirty and the vents on the ceiling is dusty. You can tell it hasn't been cleaned in months. Can only imagine about other places my eyes are not able to see. The food is okay, somewhat plain. If you don't mind gaining weight this place maybe for you.

    (2)
  • Mrs J.

Nice spot! Great food! Gladys ain't got nothing on KiKi's! Red velvet waffle is sinful!!!!!?

    (5)
  • Kim F.

Visited the restaurant at lunch. It was neat and clean. I ordered Belgium blueberry chicken and waffles. It came out hot. It was delish. The right amount of sweet and salt. I loved the environment. Next time I will try something new. The chicken and waffles taste amazingly better than Gladys knights!

    (4)
  • S K.

One word- disappointing. Service was patchy and desultory. Ordered a breakfast combo which came with grits and a chicken and waffle "salad" which was iceberg lettuce out of a bag and a wedge of a waffle along with grilled chicken atop. The grits were lumpy with clots of raw grits inside the bowl. Salad was nothing to write home about although the grilled chicken was well seasoned and tender. What was most disappointing was that NOONE came to check on us after the order was delivered to the table- not to ask if we needed more water, not if the food was satisfactory. I even got up and found hot sauce unattended at the bar myself because trying to catch our server's eye went to no avail. Is it a good concept for a restaurant- sure. Is it one we'll visit again- highly unlikely.

Great taste! This was my first visit at a chicken & waffle joint. The owner greeted my wife and I, which was very welcoming. Overall I was impressed with the entire experience. I'll be back in less than a month...that's a promise!
