Excellent food and awesome service. Place is located in a nice area and is pleasing both inside and out. Staff was friendly and on the ball and the food was excellent

We ate there last night with some friends and all walked away with the same question: why hadn't when done this sooner??? Great menu, good prices, nice beer list, and really friendly service. I had the Shrimp Philly and it was super! Can't wait to go again.

I was so excited to try this place (we drove over an hour to come here). I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap but after three small bites I started feeling very ill, I think from something in the sauce. The waitress never asked how it was although it seemed fairly obvious since the plate had hardly been touched. We paid for the meal I didn't eat and decided not to give them a second chance. As a former waitress I'm appalled by the lack of customer service we received. I want to add I wasn't looking for the meal to be comp'd, but a simple "was everything okay" would have been nice.

Good food, great service, and a nice atmosphere. The sweet potato fries and chicken fingers were very good. I know it sounds crazy but they were some of the best chicken fingers I have ever had. The only downside is that they have limited seating.

Anyone else notice a sewer smell from the back of the porch? Other than that, friendly service & good drink specials.

Update! Now that I've ventured out more on the Henry's Menu, I can still say I'm still a huge fan! All of the appetizers are delicious...The fried gulf shrimp are big and juicy, lightly battered and fried, but not greasy. The fried pickles, just the same! The hush puppies are perfectly crunchy on the outside, and deliciously slightly sweet on the inside with bits of whole corn...and the honey butter, oh my! The loaded buffalo chips are a delicious mess of creamy pimento cheese, jalapenos and BACON...What on Earth could be better? All of their burgers come out perfect every time, and you can't go wrong with any of them! (I recommend that if you get the Carolina burger to add grilled jalapenos!) They have some tasty wrap/salad/sandwich combinations too! Henry's also has an AMAZING brunch on Sundays that is just nothing but perfect. I was surprised by all the options I had Basically, guys...Henry's can do it all, and do it well!

My boyfriend and I ended up here on a Sunday a little after 9 after we had been turned away from two other burger restaurants because the "kitchen had closed." As out-of-owners stopping in Columbia on a road trip, we were less than pleased with the restaurant culture in this area, but we were just glad to finally find a place open and still serving. This place had 4.5 stars on Yelp, so we expected it to be good. We ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer and stuck to our original burger plan for our main course. I ordered the Signature burger cooked medium since it was recommended on the menu, and my boyfriend ordered the Texas burger cooked medium rare. My burger came with Red Dragon cheese which I had never had before, but it looked interesting after I googled it and was described as a mustard seed cheddar cheese spread. I also ordered my burger on Texas toast, and we both got fries. We really enjoyed the fried pickles, but they were such a large portion that we pigged out on too many before our entrees came, and our appetites were ruined. My burger came on a regular bun, and although I wasn't going to say anything, the waitress noticed the mistake right away and told me she would bring me Texas toast. I had to wait a while for the toast (more than 5 minutes), and my boyfriend had eaten most of his burger by the time I got the toast. In the end, it didn't make my burger any better because I couldn't taste the butter or garlic on the toast like I was hoping. The Red Dragon cheese on my burger was way too overpowering and was not what I expected as I was expecting it to taste more "cheddary" with an added mustard flavor. It tasted like someone had spilled a tube of mustard all over my burger, and I ended up picking most of it off. My burger was also a little tough. I am not quite sure how this is their signature burger! My boyfriend wasn't that impressed with his burger either, and we both didn't end up eating more than half of our burgers. The best parts of our meal were the fried pickles and the fries (which I really enjoyed by the way as they were very crunchy). Our server was very attentive and great in our opinion, but unfortunately, the service didn't make up for the food quality. Our experience was not worth $40, and we wish we had ordered something other than burgers or gone somewhere else! Let's just say that we have no reason to be back in Columbia, SC anytime soon.

This is by far the best of all the hamburger joints in Columbia. All the appetizers are great.. Spinach dip and hush puppies would have to be my favorite. Can't go wrong with the pimento cheeseburger or any if the hotdogs they have.. Must try if your in Columbia!

Hands down best brunch in Columbia! Get the hash brown casserole! Parking is a headache but enough nearby side streets to park and walk. My boyfriend loves the chicken fried steak. I've had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and biscuits and gravy and both are excellent!

P.S....If you need somewhere to watch sports then this is it. You can see the action from every table and barstool easily!

Whenever I go back to ole Columbia this is a must stop for myself. Henry's is my favorite bar food restaurant but definitely not your average bar food. This place is the bomb dot com a lot of awesome choices to choose from my favorite menu by far are the buffalo chips one of my favorite appetizers at any restaurant. Other go-tos include hushpuppies, carolina cheese fries, chicken wings, Texas Burger, The Messy One (burger), the club, buffalo chicken wrap, truly everything I have had here is delicious. You can't go wrong on this menu. Looking for to my next visit to Columbia so I can get back to Henry's. GO GAMECOCKS!!

Went here on a Saturday around 9pm. The food was pretty good. The service was decent. The beer selection was decent. The food was pretty good. I had their buffalo chicken wrap and my husband had their philly cheese steak sandwich. Their fries are yummy. It was entirely too loud in the place. The music was turned so high, everyone in the bar was yelling, making for a loud, annoying roar. We really enjoy bars for what they offer. If they have live music, then loud music is great...it's entertainment. But a bar that doesn't have entertainment, a dance floor, darts or pool tables...we are there to converse with friends and be able to hear eachother. Background music is the key.

I usually only post when I really like a place. With the battle to find first a parking place and then an open table, I figured Henry's must be making a lot of people happy. I got their French dip with fries and a margarita. The drink was very good, the sandwich was ok but nothing exceptional. For some reason 90% of my fries were less than an inch long. Perhaps I've gotten spoiled by eating out in Charleston a lot lately, but I had higher hopes for a hot new place in my hometown.

I waiver. Between 3 and 4 stars here. The service was spotty. When we had our servers attention she was great. When she was busy no one else wanted to help us or get our server for us. In fact, one worker gave us the brush off. This is clearly a very popular neighborhood spot on Devine St. We were able to get seated tight away on a Saturday around 6. There's no hostess stand. Someone did approach us and kind of help seat us, but I'm not sure it couldn't have been a situation of "seat yourself". My sister and I were waiting on a couple more people so we ordered drinks and a basket of fried pickles. The pickles were good, a tad greasy. For entrées we had a club sandwich (very large) , salmon sandwich, BBQ sandwich and one of the two Shrimp sandwiches. Everything came with a generous portion of fries. The food was good. What was excellent, was dessert. Homemade by Henry's wife, they had a white chocolate cheesecake. I could have eaten just that and been happy. Busy, bustling atmosphere with TVs. Outdoor dining is available.

Very solid local bar and restaurant: baseball and basketball on the TV, they have SportsCenter on if no game's on, good selection of Bourbons and rye, friendly but not overly chatty bartenders, lots of bros talking about sports, politics, and local gossip (quite often, all three intersect). I had a BLT off the late night menu and it was very good, granted, it's a hard sandwich honestly to screw up. But the atmosphere is inviting, clean, and obviously the owners put time and money into it but it doesn't feel like it's trying too hard or screaming to stand out. Just a typical but very well-done neighborhood sports bar that leans toward (expectedly) the local Gamecocks with a lot of Gamecock mementos on the walls. They were playing an odd but perfect mix of Eminem and David Allen Coe songs when I was there, which kinda sums up the Columbia scene in a sense.

This place was mentioned to me in passing and I'm so glad I took my mom here last night! This place is a solid five stars. I was a bit worried when we pulled up and saw the big Makers Mark sign in the window, thinking this would be mediocre bar food, but we were blown away with this place by the service, excellent food and cleanliness. Food- Delicious! The signature burger is so good with the caramelized mushrooms and onions and the special cheese has just the right pep. The French fries and sweet potato fries were piping hot and fresh. Service- Excellent! Our server was super friendly and efficient. She moved from table-to-table, to the kitchen, to the patio area taking care of her section. We were new to this place, so she gave us her recommendations and they were great. Price- Two burgers with heaping portions of fries and two soft drinks was about $25. For the amount and quality of food, it's a great value. Parking- Henry's has own little parking lot, which makes it very convenient. We scored a spot in their lot. Cleanliness- Very clean, and again, I was a little worried thinking this was just a little dive bar with sub-par sanitation, but never judge a book by its cover. Overall- My mom is leaving town on Saturday and she has already asking if we can go back to Henry's before she leaves. Trust me, impressing my mother isn't easy.

Finally made it back and dinner was great again. Bonus points for the TV showing the U.S. open! I went with a burger again and was pleased. Husband had the chicken tenders this time and you could tell they were totally fresh and hand battered. Very flavorful and tender.

I've been coming to this location and the one in the NE area for a while. They are owned by brothers and carry the same menu. The food is pretty food here. I've had their burgers and their hot dogs. It's all pretty good eating. I stopped by there tonight to get a shot of Heritage Hills - pumpkin spice. It's really very good. Kinda gets you in the Christmas spirit ..... It's a shame Christmas is over. It's really super good. Easily I could drink it straight out of the bottle with a straw. Every time I've been here it's been fast service and good food also. Friendly and accommodating staff. Also knowledgable!! I'll be back soon!!!!

Have had lunch here three separate times. The service is always fabulous and the servers are all really friendly. The burgers are so good, they are huge and full of flavor. I have had the original and the jalapeño; definitely preferred the original. The jalapeño burger just wasn't my style and I wouldn't order it again. I ordered the wings another time and they were really good, crispy, hot and delicious! Their french fries are so good, they are always so hot and crispy when they bring them to you. Their sweet potato fries are also really good, my co-workers order them every time we go!

Henry's has some of the worst take out food that I've ever had. I ordered the cheesesteak sandwich, which wasn't steak at all, but greasy hamburger meat. The coleslaw was big pieces of cabbage and had very little flavor. My wife ordered the BLT with sweet potato fries. The bacon was burnt to a crisp, and the fries were cold and soggy. The food literally made her sick. I would not recommend Henry's to anyone.

Come hungry and go home with leftovers! I can't believe I haven't been here before. I know I've driven by and kept on going because parking is extremely limited but I finally made it for a birthday lunch with coworkers. Thanks, guys! The menu is full of wonderful sounding dishes and while I was reading over it heaping plates of food were being delivered to other tables. This is when I decided I wanted one of everything. I finally settled on the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich with regular fries (or you can get sweet potato fries but don't ask to substitute in hush puppies because that is a no go...) and it was delicious and filling. It came with swiss, lettuce and tomato and a side of honey mustard. The chicken was cooked to perfection - hot and juicy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Fries were tasty as well. We all shared a giant bowl of hush puppies. The app was easily enough for 4-5 people to share. It comes with honey butter which goes on my list of things angels eat in heaven. Coworkers picked other equally awesome looking dishes including the Greek wrap with chicken including a side of cole slaw (which was a bit heavy on the mayo). I don't think you can really go wrong here. Everything I saw coming out of the kitchen looked wonderful and it was piled high! I'll definitely be back even if I have to spend 15 minutes looking for a parking spot. It is worth it.

Came to Henry's about a month back. Had to park a little ways down, as the parking lot isn't very big. I like the atmosphere of the place. Husband ordered a burger of sorts, I ordered a Buffalo chicken sandwich and we ordered an appetizer of hushpuppies. The hush puppies with Honey Butter were AH-MAZ-ING.. and this is coming from someone who doesn't really care for hush puppies. The app was huge and we had plenty left over for the next day. My Buffalo Sandwich was very uninspiring as was the Husbands burger. Little tweaks could have made them so much better. I ended up spreading the honey butter onto my buffalo sandwich which added some complexity to the hot sauce (which otherwise was just plain hot sauce). The husband ate his burger, but said the same thing- very bland, could have made better with a few little tweaks.

Enjoyed a beer and an appetizer here. They're open late and we didn't have to wait, so that was a plus! Great selection of beer, would like to come back for a full meal sometime.

This place has awesome burgers! My group also had hush puppies and the spinach dip with chips. This place is definitely a bar scene. But the food here was so much better than I was expecting. I would definitely recommend this place. Also, the service is very fast. This place does get busy though.

The food is great! The Big T is awesome but very hard to complete everything, however it's worth the money! Best place I have been in a long time!

Great sandwiches and sweet potato fries and an awesome atmosphere. Wouldn't recommend the bloody Marys or shrimp and grits though... went for brunch and was disappointed. The Bloody Mary tasted like watered down horseradish and the shrimp and grits lacked flavor.

This place is fantastic. I was looking up new places to eat in the downtown area and stumbled across this restaurant. First time there I had the jalapeño burger and it was delicious. Went there again for dinner tonight and tried the Signature Burger. Can't say enough good things about this place and the workers. Laura was my waitress both times and she has mastered her job. Awesome service!

We love, love, love the good!!! The burgers are the best!! The chicken cordon blue is great!! The sweet potatoes and hush puppies are what we come to henrys to get!! It helps that they have Apple Orchard beer! You can sit outside on the great patio or inside. The decor is great too!!!

Henry's is a solid Columbia establishment. Henry's caters to young professionals and graduate students, but you'll see a variety of folks here. Great bar food is available late into the evening, and the bar prices are very good. They could use a few more TVs, but the one's they have serve their purpose well.

We went on a Friday night and it was pretty busy. Of course, it's a small place so "busy" it doesn't take much for their seating to fill up. This was our FIRST time visiting due to the stellar reviews they receive about their food and service. Because it was busy, we had to wait, but not long at all -- about 15 minutes. We noticed they had a sign saying happy hour was from 4 until 8 with 50 cents off draft beer. Cool. So we had a beer while we waited. Once we were seated, the server came by and said that she would be with us shortly, but we waited for about 12 minutes before she came by to take any type of order. We ordered the fried eggplant (good), a bacon burger (with a fried egg added) and a veggie wrap. My girlfriend really liked her veggie wrap. The burger was very tasty and cooked the way I ordered it. My only issue with the burger was regarding the fried egg that I added, for two reasons. 1) The fried egg was $1.50, which is $0.50 more than it costs to add bacon. Just seems wrong to me. 2) The fried egg was actually completely sunny side up, only cooked on one side. This isn't a big deal to me, but it's not what I expected to be on the burger. Perhaps next time I will be more specific. Everything else about the food was really tasty. Finally, we it came time to get the bill, I questioned why our beers (we ordered several more during the course of the meal) were being charged at regular price, considering they were all ordered before 8pm. I asked the server and she said "yeah DHEC only let's us do happy hour until 7. I know the board says 8, but we can only do it until 7" So I suggested to her that they could easily change the chalkboard happy hour special to say "until 7" instead of 8. She said she would let management know. It's really not about the $0.50 savings, because overall it made up $2.00 on the bill. What it's about is false advertising of specials, and then offering to do nothing about it. I think the right thing to do is to honor what you are advertising to your customers. Overall, the food was good, but the experience was lacking. Very loud, seems to be related to the acoustics of the room. Service was OK at best, and the happy hour deal that turned out not to be a deal was kind of a bummer.

Service was great. Faith our waitress was so friendly and our food came on time. We had the pickle and buffalo chips as appetizers. Yum, yum. I ordered the Chicken Philly with Sweet Potato fries. Definitely coming back.

Right up Devine Street from Five Points, Henry's is a great place to get a good hearty meal, a pint, and watch a game. The Big T, Challenge is an artery clogger, but several people have completed it. The Staff is always polite and nice. The guys behind the bar are fast, nice, and serve you with a smile. There are a lot of great burger joints in Columbia, but Henry's tops the list in my opinion. Their burgers are always cooked to perfection, and will be cooked to the temperature you prefer. The HankDog won't help your blood pressure or cholesterol, but it will make you smile. The shrimp philly, chicken philly, and philly philly are a great sandwiches as well. I can't say I had anything I wouldn't consider ordering again. Brunch is top notch too, my wife and I split the Hungary Bennett and took home a meals worth!!!. Did I mention outside is dog friendly? Great homemade deserts too!

First time here and I'm over it. Our waitress was nice and the hush puppies were good, aside for the undercooked ones that I found but I ultimately left without eating lunch. I ordered a water with lemon that was refilled once but I never got anymore ice even though the waitress mentioned that she, "tried" to get ice from the pitcher in my glass but it just didn't work. What happened to just giving me ice in a seperate glass if you dont want to touch my glass again? I ordered a shrimp po boy that showed up with only 5, rubber bullet like shrimp on bread that's dense enough to sink the Titanic. The fries that came with it seriously needed mouth to mouth recussitation. I have a trick that I normally do when I go to any restaurant that serves fries...I order a side of ranch in hopes of masking whatever unpleasant taste may come from the fries. This time, I got 4 fries in and had to give up. They looked sad when they showed up and I wanted them to be good but they just weren't. They were dry and tasted like burned oil. I gave up on them and tried to move on to my sad sandwich...I asked the waitress if 5 shrimp is normal because for $9, I should get more than that. She ran off and came back to tell me that was it for the sandwich but never told me that I could purchase a side of shrimp if I wanted extra. The lettuce on the sandwich was wilted and was dripping with whatever "mayo" they came up with. It was all around a bad sandwich that was all bread and weird sauce. When I told the waitress that not only was there only 5 shrimp on the sandwich but they were also cooked to hell, she asked if I wanted something else. At that point I was done with the experience and wanted to leave. I told her no and she apologized but no manager was ever called out or came to speak with me. When things like thay happen, you know the people working there just don't care. In saying all this, I'll take my business elsewhere... P.S. Say no to drugs, kids!

Great sports bar or just general hang out for you and your friends. TVs everywhere and big projector screen for watching the games. Fried pickles are delish! Burgers are huge and rivals Pawleys Front Porch easily. Bartenders are nice - you'll recognize them from the "old Jakes".

Henry's is actually pretty good. It's a small place so sometimes you may get stuck at an awkward community type table. However all of the food I have had there was really good. Sunday brunch is awesome- best in town I think. The hungry Bennett is HUGE but worth it to order and share. It's killer. The hash brown casserole is delicious. For dinner I really like getting the grilled veggie wrap, very tasty.

Great service! Amazing food. My father loved the sierra nevada pale ale. The kungfu shrip was spicy and delish. The hushpuppies were tender and crispy and the BLT hsd the perfect ratio of all ingrediants, I would ask for honey butter to dip sweet potatoe fries in but amazing food. Parking is a little hard though

Went here a long while ago, and felt pretty meh about it. The parking situation was terrible, food was decent but not special, service was slow. Hadn't really planned to go again. Went back last night, and it was a completely different experience! Parking is still terrible, but that's true of any restaurant on Devine. Went a little later in the evening, and there were plenty of customers, but also decent seating available both inside and out. Our service was friendly and quick, with both our waitress and another staffer regularly checking in on us. The food was really good, too! Between the two of us, we ordered a basket of fried pickles, a greek chicken wrap, and the breakfast burger. All were really tasty. The fried pickles had just enough breading to balance the pickle and were crisp, came out really hot and fresh. The wrap and burger were both delicious, and the portions were huge (I have 95% of my meal in a to-go container in my fridge right now for lunch). One recommendation I'd made is to sit inside. I usually prefer outside seating if it is available, but this place's deck is right by the dumpsters, and one of the things that we hated most the first time we visited was that we spent the entire meal fending off flies. The seating area looks nice, but it's kind of poorly planned. Inside is nice though; nothing fancy, but comfortable and quieter than I'd expected. All in all, really enjoyable. We'll come back!
