I am a vegetarian, and a flight attendant. It's was my first layover her in Columbia. Hopped on yelp for veg food, saw the reviews, and the prices, and began walking. Both women working here are the kindest souls I've come across in quite some time (mother and daughter) I wasn't feeling well, and the young lady helped me come to a decision on food. I had the Santa Cruz with a salad for just under $8. It was delicious, very flavorful. She actually pointed me in the direction to a pharmacy to grab medicine, and when I walked back in, the mother was right there, handing me my food, delivered with a smile. I ate outside, and the girl came out and asked had I gotten medicine and how I was feeling. After I ate, I asked for a cup for my medicine, and the woman was so kind, asking if I needed water and what was wrong. I love supporting businesses like this. I will be back should I be in the area, again. You should go too!

Had lunch here today with my wife and son. The Camel sandwich was very good and the service was quick and friendly. Will be going back and highly recommend.

The food was "good." The owner's daughter was super nice but extremely scattered, unorganized and she wouldn't stop asking my group of 8 if the food was "good." It got to the point where she asked us each 4-5 times which became annoying for our experience. My friends asked for spinach wraps instead of bread and the cook got both orders wrong. He also took about 20 min slowing coming out with all the food so half the group had to wait with food in front of them which wasn't so great either. Overall, service took away from this local place and I don't think I'd come back.

I just finished my delicious lunch from Cali's and I feel completely satisfied! I got the San Francisco on whole wheat and my sister ordered the Fisherman's Wharf. Both sandwiches were extremely flavorful. A small side salad came with the sandwich. The only con was that the sandwich was really good, but it was a little on the small side. I would suggest that they start using artisan breads to increase the flavor and size of the sandwich offerings. The service at Cali's was friendly and my sandwich was prepared with not a lot of waiting. If you need a tasty bite to eat served with a smile, check out Cali's.

Delicious sandwiches! They have vegetarian and gluten free options!! I had the Berkley on a gluten free wrap. It was the best gf wrap I've ever had (and I've been GF for 5 years now)! The owner and family run the business and are from Northern CA! They are sweet people. The owner has an uncanny ability to figure out your astrological sign too ;) Thanks for the yumminess and the good conversation.

It's refreshing to have a sandwich spot that stands out. They offer gluten free options which sparked my attention. It's a family owned spot so it makes your experience really personable. I prefer to have different options with my sandwich so having a salad was great. Would definitely recommend

Fantastic sandwiches and wonderfully friendly service make Cali's a treat for my lunches during the week. Glad to see a place like this open in Downtown. I heartily recommend swinging by for a sandwich; the sandwich I last had was perfectly grilled and filled with mouthwatering chicken and horseradish mayo. Fresh, tasty, and crispy, what else could you want with a sandwich?

Love love love this place for lunch!! The sandwiches are all unique. I've enjoyed every sandwich I've tried. The Fisherman's Wharf is one of my favorites. The Cajun Chicken Salad is very tasty as well. One of the best things about the meals is that they're "right sized". I always get an ice cold lemonade. The outside tables give you a great view of Columbia's changing downtown. The staff is very friendly and grateful for your business. I plan to slowly make my way through all the sandwiches. Soon I'll start testing out the vegetarian options. Stop by if you want a unique sandwich.

Fantastic small cafe right off of Main Street and worth the detour. Family owned and operated, the menu is based on well known Californian locales -- Nappa Valley, San Fran, Carmel, Fisherman's Wharf --and has quite a few vegetarian options. I had the eggplant sandwich (eggplant, roasted red pepper, onions, pepper jack, tomatoes, and mayo) which I had with a small but delicious side of pasta salad. The shop is fairly small; only 3 booths and a few tables out front. The price is very reasonable, the sandwich was tasty, and the staff is attentive and very friendly. Highly recommended.

I hate to be the first to leave less than 5 stars... unfortunately my experience was hot & weird!!!!! I attempted to try this place a few days ago - with a perfect yelp rating and walking distance from my job - I asked why hadn't I been here sooner?!? I couldn't find much if any info online (menu, hours)... I saw two conflicting sites stating they opened at 9am and another at 10am... So I walked over around 10:40 to beat the lunch crowd and have a chance to browse the menu. They were closed - (no hours on the door either) bummer... So today I go around 1:00pm, get a meter spot on Taylor, the OPEN sign is lit... There's quite a few ppl inside considering it's a very tight spot (I'm thinking it's a good sign). A young girl (who was pictured with one of the owners in the article the state wrote about the place - so I assume she's family) comes around and hand motions me to step up to order, no biggie. I order the Fisherman Wharf (as listed on the menu), she asks if I'd like it on sourdough or wheat. She then stares at the paper for a second and then snaps out of it like "haha oh you said the fisherman wharf right?" She then leaves me without saying anything and takes the paper to the back, she comes back out, does something behind the register then says "oh you can have a seat!" Ooooook So I go sit at one of the bar stools at the front, I'm starting to sweat just sitting there, I'm gazing out at Taylor st thinking it just might be cooler outside... I overhear a couple awkward interactions between the girl and one of the booths and I'm thinking okay it's not just me today. One booth at the back of the restaurant finally opens, I move to it, I can feel the ceiling fans finally and start to cool down a bit. The girl stops by to assure me that my order will be up shortly, then says "oh, I was gonna ask you something, but I forgot it, and that was someone else, you look just like them" ?!?!?!?!?!? At this point I just want out!!!!! My food is ready, a woman from the back brings it out, takes my payment and again apologizes for the wait (I really didn't think it took that long - the heat and strange conversations were most annoying). I get my sandwich back to work - it wasn't anything special - I don't think I'd order it again, a scoop of pasta salad was included (I noticed at the bottom of the menu when I was waiting for my change that all sandwiches come with pasta salad, side salad or chips)... I was never asked which I'd prefer... guess I should have paid better attention before ordering. I don't prefer pasta salad and this one didn't change my mind. I love local - I support local - I will say aside from the awkwardness the two ppl I interacted with did try to offer good customer service and everyone else in the place appeared happy and comfortable. The menu looks interesting there are a couple fish, and tofu items along with the typical turkey and chicken deli sandwiches. Maybe I'll go back, try something different and update my review.

Service was awkward, but very friendly. The girl taking my order seemed pretty young for the job, so I assume it's a family-run place. Sweet. I got the San Francisco (turkey, pepper jack, grilled onions, pesto, & horseradish mayo) with pasta salad, a drink, and an extra side of the hummus. $9.18 Honestly I'm giving this place 5 stars cause it was just a d*mn good sandwich. I caught myself wishing I had another one twice before I finished. Hummus and pasta salad are good, average, but the San Francisco...I'll be back to continue that love affair.

The first thing the server/hostess told me was that I had something on my face when we walked up. Then she just kept reading 2 items from the menu aloud when I told her i was vegan. I had the veggie burger sans cheese and mayo - Food was ok and prices matched what you got. Hotter inside the restaurant than outside, which is NOT good when you're in Columbia.

Not your "run of the mill" cafe and sandwich shop. The sandwiches all have a little twist and there are vegetarian options, as well. I've tried most all of them and have not been disappointed yet. My favorite is the fisherman's wharf which has smoked salmon and pepper jack cheese.

Yummy, quick, and friendly service. Great pricing for good quality food. The chicken salad has pecans and dried cranberries on lightly toasted bread--delish! Everything was fresh and perfect. Excited about this new little gem. The menu changes and she mentioned she is adding back some vegetarian options next week.
