Looking for a home cooked meat and three? You won't be disappointed. My family and I haven't found anything we don't like. It is in a converted house. Seating is limited, parking more so. There is outside seating, depending on the weather and how you like trains. They are literally trackside.

Understaffed, but the food was excellent. We parked in the gravel lot next to this nondescript building with minor Victorian accents. I admired the scalloped green roofing tiles, which I don't see too often. The staff greeting us were very friendly and we were seated in a room with five tables with parisian motifs on the walls. In the next room was a large gathering of ladies for a party, and that's where the management problems surfaced. The poor waiter was assigned to both rooms, so it was frustratingly difficult getting refills and placing orders and when asked about it the staff mentioned that the owners had been cutting back. That's a shame because the food was excellent. My wife had the Savannah Chicken with the stuffed tomatoes and basmati rice. I got to sample the tender chicken and it's rich sauce and the rice was superb. It's not often a side dish of rice gets such high praise, but it was delicious. I had the Green Goddess Steak sandwich and the bread was fresh with a crisp crust while still being soft. The waiter said they don't bake their own bread, but they must be getting it locally for it to be so fresh. It was stuffed with cucumbers, spinach, and slices of steak and was nice. The pasta salad was good, but the homemade chips were probably the best I've ever had. I don't think I've ever had them so thin. Normally homemade chips are a bit crunchy but these were light and crisp and tasted wonderful. Each of us ordered a different dessert, so we got to try everything available that night: Red Velvet Cake, Pina Colada Pie, Chocolate Cobbler, and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake. I'm not a Red Velvet connoisseur, and it tasted fine by me, but the person who ordered it said it was excellent. My wife's Chocolate Cobbler looked a messy mass, but it had a wonderful flavor and of course was her favorite of the four deserts. My cheesecake was unpleasantly warm, and consequently overly mushy. The flavor was right, and would have been a hit if it had been chilled. The last desert was very late in coming and the other desserts had been finished before it arrived. It tasted delicious and it indeed tasted like a Pina Colada. I was afraid the pineapple might make it overpoweringly sweet, but they got just the right balance. My wife thought it needed a bit more coconut flavoring, but I'm not a big coconut fan and think it's perfect the way it is. Among the other inconsistencies we found were that all our dinnerware was chipped and soft drinks are by the can. If they fix the staffing, kitchen inconsistencies, and plates it would be a solid 4 star rating.

Amazing!!! Best kept secret in Central, SC! You must try this delicious cafe! Everything is homemade, and you can tell. I try to venture and get different items with each visit because I haven't had any one thing I didn't love! Their food tastes like nothing you have ever had before...well maybe except your grandma's own home-cooking. Oh and save room for dessert! They usually have two or three homemade desserts, pies, cakes, etc to choose from. All of which are exceptional! They are open Wednesday-Friday for lunch 11-2 and dinner 5-8. And most Sunday's for lunch.

The food at Sidetracked is as super as I had heard. I traveled from Atlanta to try the place, based on the recommendation of a friend. EVERYTHING I tasted was amazing. The portions are huge and very fresh I'm not even a dessert person, and I had to try the Orange Marmalade Cheesecake. I was not disappointed! Look for them on Facebook and see the weekly menu. Worth the trip to Central, SC Thank you to my excellent server and dear friend,Dyan for suggesting I visit Sidetracked Cafe I will be back with the family! Susie

The good - quaint setting in old house next to RR tracks; homemade Mac and cheese was excellent as were green beans and melt-in-your-mouth roll. The not so great - " fall off the bone tender" boneless ribs were a little tough and dry -more like roast with BBQ sauce; service was a little slow, but it was lunch time and the waitress was reasonably attentive. The unusual - not sure what to make of being hugged by the host before being seated (this was my first time there) - wonder if he does that with all the female customers? Would definitely like to return to try other menu items, though would not get "ribs" again.

Very, very good home-cooked food. The menu changes on a weekly basis, so it's nearly always a new option to try; there are many repeats, though, which provides "safety". Having said that, nearly everything we've had here is very good, and worth having again (the sole exception was a Kentucky Hot-brown, which was like no hot brown I'd ever had). The owners and staff are friendly, courteous, and accommodating; prices are reasonable. All in all, this is the best restaurant, by far, in Central, and one of the best in the Clemson area.

I had heard about it. The raves were hard to believe. I was skeptical. I tried it. WOW. Side Tracked is a MUST for anyone staying in the area of Clemson University. Why? Because this may be [straight-up] the best home cooking -- indeed -- country cookin' in the entire Upstate. Some side notes about SideTracked: --It is a true, locally owned and operated, "mom and pop shop" that aspires to quality and achieves stellar results. Translation: Support local non-chain eateries! --It is a business that's poised to grow in popularity and in the size of their dining room. Translation: Get in on this before it gets too popular. Here's what you get: -- amazing service with a SMILE. --Comfort food that will knock your socks off. [A carb-fest that will put you in a coma.] Menu deets: Sunday menu includes fried chicken that will make the colonel blush. Sides! Um ... yes. This mac n cheese is so fracking good, it might be illegal. Key lime pie: OMFG. Do yourself a favor and get it. If it's the last piece available, [which is entirely likely] fight for it. This homemade pie is worth scrapping over. Fun fact: When it comes to ice tea, they got it right -- if you order "regular" ice tea, they mean SWEET tea. In The South, sweet tea IS regular tea.

So excited to have this place as a dining option in Central! My husband, toddler & I love the food here. Very fresh and inspired food and if you ever get the chance to eat ANY of their desserts -go for it. We hope everything goes great at the new location.

I'm reluctant to brag too much on this place as they only have 7 tables. Get there early! Different menu every week, very large portions. Delicious desserts. Usually about 7 entrees. They usually have a solid salad entree. Food is like classy home cooking. Tends to be a bit heavy in sauces or cheese, but I'm sensitive to that as I prefer healthy eating. Still, it does not suffer from salt as a spice syndrome, which I see too often in many restaurants. They experiment with what they offer every week. It's truly like eating out of someone's home kitchen, except the cook happens to be very very good.
