I cannot say enough good things about this lovely little restaurant. I found it on Yelp and thought it looked good from the pictures so we drove from Columbia to Cayce to try it. We were very, very impressed! The dining area is very nice, and we were the only ones eating in on a Friday evening, although there were many people coming in to get take-out. Our waitress was so cute and sweet, and kept coming back to talk to us. Another nice lady came over and introduced herself (possibly the owner). I like how they offer a lot of things that other Chinese restaurants do not have. We ordered the dumplings, which were very good! The entrees were delicious as well and were plated very nicely. Excellent service, great atmosphere and food, and good prices. We will definitely be coming back!

It's good to have a good pick up option near your home. Unfortunately, I like Chinese food way more than my wife. This was our third time getting take out from Chen's and it is always good. I have a go-to, which is broccoli and garlic sauce, from my college days as a vegetarian, and Chen's is the best I've had in Columbia. I've had it at other places here in town and it was all stalks. Chen's was an abundance of florets and it was delicious. My wife dances around the menu never knowing what she REALLY likes cause we don't eat it enough. She's had the General Tso's chicken (good), the Bourbon chicken (not my thing at any Chinese place), and last night her childhood favorite Sweet & Sour Chicken. It was awesome. She loved the pork fried rice too. We share the steamed dumplings as an appitizer and they were top knotch. Nice, fast, friendly staff. Truely a blessing in Cayce!

Great neighborhood Chinese restaurant! Amy, the owner, will do anything to accommodate her guests. Very friendly staff and outstanding food! I highly recommend the Hot and Spicy soup, Four Seasons, Szechuan Chicken, and pan seared Dumplings.

Best chinese food I have tasted in Columbia! The restaurant is very clean and the decor is nice. Anything you could want is on the menu. We tried the cheese wontons and the hot and sour soup to start, both were delicious. The entrees were better than expected too. I cannot wait to return to try other dishes. The folks who run this place are super friendly and accomodating. Give it a try!

This is NOT your normal Chinese place. The interior is renovated as of January 2014, and it's quit nice with room for expansion. Why 5 stars? The chicken wings are always perfectly crispy, and tasty. The hot and sour soup is awesome and features some veggies like zucchini that you you don't find in many versions. I order it EVERY time I come in ( which is weekly) The Singapore Chow Mei Fun is AMAZING Their new Spicy Shrimp soup is also good with plenty of LARGE shrimp in it, not those dinky salad shrimp. They now serve Japanese hibachi ( it's cooked in the back though) and my new favorite..,. The BENTO box. This is a traditional lunch in Japan. At Chens you get your choice of one piece of two types of dumplings as an appetizer, entree ( there are about 5-6 choices which include both Japanese hibachi and Chinese food options, some fried rice, and your choice of miso soup ( which is also pretty yummy) or a house salad. A very well rounded meal ... The price? About $8 The staff is always super nice , and if dining in they bring your food to the table on real dishes not styrofoam . So, next time your in town stop by Chens. It's in the bi-lo shopping center next to Murray's .

3rd time I have eaten here, outstanding!. It's hard to eat healthy Chinese food on the road and I'm not a buffet guy. I appreciate the quality of food and service is exceptional. Nothing remotely negative to say.

Entirely new store. Great atmosphere and great food. Very friendly as well. I like what they've done with the place. And their tea was quite nice as well. 4/5 stars.

This is basic "what Americans call Chinese" fare, but done really, really well. Everything is fresh and cooked perfectly. I've only been a few times, but if they keep up the good work, I'll be back again again. The bourbon chicken is not something I'm used to seeing, but I can highly recommend it. Just the right savory sweet to make it delicious. The General Tso's chicken had an nice crispness that I don't usually find at other restaurants. The beef and broccoli was super fresh and tasty. I'm used to soggy veggies that have been cooked too much, but the broccoli was very fresh and perfectly cooked. They don't overdo the sauces, but it's enough. They don't need to hide anything with too much sauce.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
