I'm in love! We are kicking ourselves for not understanding what Pour Richards is all about. We've lived here 9 months and tonight is our first (and certainly not the last) this is excellent food on another level! Be sure to visit this place. Great staff.. lovely menu... fun drinks... great atmosphere.

Great place with several options for your budget. We went with friends and experienced excellent service. Our server was probably the best we'd ever experienced. She provided very detailed descriptions of menu options, installing the same amount of love that I'm sure the back of the house gives to every dish. The food was excellent--we had the southern French onion soup, the spinach craisin salad, the cornbread stuffed quail small plate and the scallops st. Jacques. The wine selection is small but contains some really great wines. The entrees are pricey, but you could easily get away with a small pizette or a salad and small plate as your meal.

There's no shortage of good seafood in the Bluffton/Hilton Head area, and Pour Richard's is no exception in this regard. What sets Pour Richard's apart is the exceptional atmosphere and excellent service. From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with a wonderful smile and a catering to our every need. We were told to not even look at the menu because we were there to relax. The waitress for our table explained the specials and our dinner options almost like a performance, with emphasis on all the right words to make our mouths water. There were enough options that everyone at the table was able to try something different. For myself, I tried the flounder, with was juicy and flaky at the same time. It came with linguine and mussels to make it a full on seafood experience. I wasn't as big of a fan of the bedding that it came on top of, but the overall meal was nothing to complain about. It was just the right portion and left enough room for dessert. All in all, I was very impressed. I will definitely be looking to come back when I can!

French Onion soup is so on point its unreal. But their crab rangoon pizza....*drool* I wish I could have some now. This place is somewhat of an older crowd but their food speaks for itself. We had several things on the menu and I can't say 1 negative thing about it. (Wouldn't recommend this place for kids though)

This is a wonderful place. Make a reservation, and don't be weary of sitting at the bar. The southern french onion soup is awesome. I recommend any of the seafood specials. Definitely a locals place as the kitchen staff will talk to customers. The chef is amazing and the wine list/beer list is legit! Not a dessert person, but they are divine here!!!

6 stars, I was alone on business. Sat at the bar where all the food prep is seen, great drink and the best service, I had a cold cauliflower soup- Excellent. I had the Seared Ahi special- Excellent. Then Creme Brûlée for dessert- Excellent. The other patrons I sat next to made this a 6 star experience. When was the last time you saw a restaurant team with a family feel? It was this place for me. For the quality and fun, very reasonable.

So great place even to sit at thebar and chat as well as watch your good as it's prepared! Their new summer seasonal menu is terrific. The sides are creative & the main courses perfection. I had the swordfish with a light scampi sauce pomodori sauce with Swiss chard! Even though it's fish don't hesitate to try the Michael David petit petite Syrah

I don't even know where to start- Pour Richard's will become a regular place for me to visit when I'm in town. A small group of us went and were all extremely happy with everything. The staff is so nice, knowledgable and passionate about what they do. (Plus, they support local which is always great!) Can't wait to return!

We picked this place last minute for date night and we were very impressed! Food was on point (salmon and swordfish were to die for), service (Steve is a character) was great and ambiance was laid back. We sat at the bar and watched the chefs behind the scenes as we sipped our drinks. We well definitely come again.

I found it to be overrated and overpriced. The waitstaff wasn't very friendly. We were a party of four and are locals. And we would not be back. Lots of better places to go with better service

Pour Richards offers Excellent Menu Choices Such as Pork Bellies and a Large Variety of Pate's which are rare in the area. A Great Wine List as well as Superb Service! I started with the Quail with Braised Pork Belly Appetizer which was tender and delicious. Then, my next choice would have been the Oyster Pie, However, Pour Richards will only make it if the Oysters are in season. The Shrimp and Grits were Perfect, as well as my Dates Dish, The days Special "Grouper". If you're looking for fine dining in Bluffton, I suggest getting a reservation at Pour Richards. It can get crowded! Enjoy, Chef Gary Curry

The menu is extensive, with a number of daily specials. We eat here all the time, and it is the best restaurant in Bluffton. For appetizers, the homemade pate, the tuna and the oyster stew (winter menu only) are excellent. A fantastic burger, if you do not mind listening to your arteries closing. The daily fish specials are always good, but sometimes too much is going on. Not much on decor, but lots of energy. For two, the fun place is to eat at the bar. If you are looking for a quiet night out, this is not it.

This is the best restaurant we have found in the Bluffton , Hilton head area (note that we include Hilton head) Only The inn at Palmetto Bluff has comparable cuisine, but is way stuffier & more expensive. Menu varies, food is consistently excellent. Service is friendly & professional ,a rare combination. It doesn't look like much from the curb, but don't let the humble appearance deter you. Or you will miss the best culinary experience this area has to offer.

We're from out of town, staying with the in-laws for the holidays, and wanted to have a date night (sans kids) while we have the grandparents around to babysit. My in-laws recommended Pour Richards. Loved the decor and atmosphere immediately. The menu reads upscale American. Some Southern, French, Italian, Mediterranean influences. I was satisfied with the meal overall but I was definitely not Wowed. By the standards of this area it's probably better than most though. I ordered the Waldorf Salad, Grouper, & Milk Choc Chai Creme Brulee. My husband got the Pate, Lamb Osso Bucco, & Cheese Cake. The salad was pretty good and not over dressed -- definitely important for me! The pate was not all that good and too salty. The main courses were heavy on the salt but not to the point where I couldn't eat them. My Grouper fish was over cooked but the flavour of the dish over all (came with rice, wilted spinach, & a Mediterranean style tomato sauce) was very tasty. The lamb Osso Bucco was more impressive and perfectly cooked. Tender and falling off the bone (came with couscous, wilted spinach, and the same tomato sauce as my Grouper). I didn't try the Cheese cake but thought my creme brulee was quite tasty. It came with a little dollop of whipped cream with flambeed banana slices on the side; which I thought was a nice complement for the creme brulee. I was pretty full by this point and couldn't finish the dessert. We both had wine - I got a Portino size (1.5 glass) and hubby got 1 glass, as he was driving. The total bill came to around $150 which we thought was a hefty price for what we got and for this area. We could definitely have gone to a very fancy restaurant in the DC area for this price. Bottomline: If you're looking for somewhere to go for a special occasion or date in the Bluffton, SC, area then this place will definitely do the job.

My 2 friends and I dined at Pour Richards while vacationing in Bluffton last week. We were given the recommendation by 3 different people, so we booked a table and headed over from our Inn. Non descript little strip mall as promised. Amazing evening! The service was friendly and perfectly timed. Wine list pleased my partners, and I enjoyed several iced teas. We shared a flat bread pizza with duck, prosciutto and goat cheese. It was fantastic (even for breakfast the next am). We also tried the pate, which was possibly the best ever. We tried one special each; swordfish, grouper and veal chop. We all thought our own was the superior dish. I had a huge and flavorful veal chop with a tasty burgundy sauce. Richard and Alli came by the table to check on us and chat making us feel welcomed and valued as first time customers. If I lived closer, I would be there every week! Don't hesitate to try it out if you are ever in Bluffton or Hilton Head. It was the best meal of our trip! We also dined at The Boathouse, Buffalos, River House and Canoe Club.

The menu is extensive with small plates, pizza but very pricey entrees at $30 +. The food was well prepared and tasty. The minimum wine price is $9 a glass so it's pricey. The service was good and friendly. In the winter months, beware if it's cold as the cold air flows into the restaurant. thru the front entrance. The owners should address this problem.I consider the restaurant to be overpriced unless you order one of the smaller plates or pizza. Your bill could easily exceed a $100 for two which is pricy for this area. This is the reason for my 3 stars, otherwise, they deserve a 4 stars.

As much as we love May River Grill, we have fallen head over heels with Richard and Ally of Pour Richard's in Bluffton. I know, you are saying right now......Bluffton, SC??? Good healthy food?? YES...and it is here in this tiny strip mall located near a car wash. I would definitely recommend ordering any specials that Richard may have for the evening. In fact, half the time, we never open the menu. The fish is cooked to perfection every time and the bruschetta is so flavorful. The only negative I have about this restaurant is that the decor is a little sparse and there needs to be more "softness" which may include rugs or upholstered dividers to create more of an ambiance and reduce the noise level. Other than this, we tip our hat and compliment the chef and staff on the mouth watering creations served daily.

We went on a Friday night with no reservations so we had to sit at the bar and had a a great view of the busy chefs. My wife and I split (no charge for splitting) one of their five specials - a very thick veal chop with red sauce, eggplant and cheese. We weren't disappointed. For dessert we also split their German chocolate tart - delicious! We had been to a German restaurant that was at this location several years ago. They have done a remarkable job of transforming the place into an upscale eatery. Prices were on the high side and while the meal was good, we have restaurants in this area with as much originality in the preparation for about 2/3 of the price. However, they have quite a following despite the price. Otherwise I'd rate it five stars.
