We were on our way out of Hilton head and found this little surprise Mexican restaurant. It was the best Mexican food I have ever eaten. If u like Mexican food this need to be your next stop. Love it love it. My 2 daughters don't normally eat this type of food but they order Carne Asada and was amazed how good it tasted. There were 5 of us and the bill was less than 60 dollars. We were stuffed. Thank you for a great meal.

We made a detour from Savannah to hit the outlets before heading home, and we got fairly hungry. I was in the mood for Mexican, so after a quick Yelp search, we ended up here. I am so GLAD I have the Yelp app, otherwise, I would have never found this gem. El Mariachi is practically as authentic as you can get for Mexican food. The mole enchilada, or the enmoladas were so BOMB! I've had homemade enchiladas before with similar style sauces on top, and it was as good as it gets. The mole was on par with homemade mole my friend's parents have made me. The carne asada tacos were seasoned to perfection, although they did seem just a tad bit over cooked. You know how authentic a restaurant is based on its clientele. Majority of the patrons dining in were of similar ethnic or racial backgrounds, and we definitely felt like the minority in there, which was a good thing. Our service was exceptional, and I got pretty bummed out once I realized how far away this place was from home. :/ Now, my mission to find a joint in Atlanta with bomb enmoladas as this place! :)

We were shopping at the outlet malls and decided to have lunch. We live in savannah so I searched on yelp and this place had good reviews. First, my sweet tea was old. It tasted like it had been sitting out for days. I am from Texas and have been to Mexico so I know my Mexican food. The salsa still had tomato stems in it & did not taste that great. The food was average. My husbands fajitas had more HUGE onions than meat. My enchilada was tiny. It was like a baby enchilada. If you know what real tex mex/ Mexican food tastes like... I would not waste your $. Thumbs WAY DOWN!

As you walk in, you'll notice it's a bit tiny, but don't hold that against them. If you need to use the bathroom, you'll have to walk through the kitchen to get there, but don't hold that against them. If you are looking for a full bar and a variety of margaritas, you won't find them, but don't hold it against them, but if you're looking for some pretty good mexican food, than this is the place, and that you'll be happy to hold it against them. The chips and salsa arrive pretty fast, they're not the best chips you'll ever eat, but they're warm, and salted just right. The Salsa has some zest, but if you want spicy, ask for some hot sauce, they'll bring you a red one, and a green one. The Quesadilla is stuffed with a white melting mexican cheese, not the typical jack and cheddar. It's delicious. You can having it with chicken or any other meat. The kids meals come with a drink, and rice and beans... plenty of food, and it's only $5.95. But to really be blown away, there are 2 dishes that I've had there, that are as good as I got at my mom's mexican restaurants in California. The first one is the Menudo. A big bowl of beef tripe, and cows hoofs cooked in a broth of red chilis, it's a big bowl and it's served with a side plate of traditional condiments. And tortillas. get it with a side of their incredibly tasty beans. The second dish is the Carnitas... probably the best Carnitas east of Chicago. And as close to some you'd get in San Diego. Big chunks of pork with just enough fat on the to keep them moist, flash fried to put a crispy outside on them, then slowly cooked in pork fat till incredibly tender. I got them served fajitas style with peppers and onions, flour tortillas, rice beans, on the side came some below average Guacamole,a predictable Pico de gallo, but there was a salad with cotija cheese, to put onto your taco, they were great! All and all this place was a good move to come and eat. There are specials on the weekend, and on this Friday night, they had BarBarcoa de Borrego (a Mexican bbqed goat) normally a go to plate for me, but the pork Carnitas called to me. We are lucky here in Bluffton, to have many good Mexican Restaurants. This is one I'd put in the top 10 here and on the island.

A hidden gem! Great Food, Friendly Service, Affordable! $3 margaritas during happy hour (4-7pm) and their not bashful on the tequila. A big menu with plenty of authentic and traditional options. Everything came out fast, hot and tasty. Free Chips and Salsa as every little Mexican joint should. Carlos (owner?) was so friendly and attentive. I'll return often.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
