I can't imagine a more relaxing few days than staying at the Rhett House. We loved sitting out on the veranda admiring the Spanish moss and the buggies driving by. The owner suggested we take a tour of the Gullah country. Somebody named "The Rev" came and picked us up and gave us a fascinating tour and offered wonderful insights into a people and culture we, being from the west coast, had never before heard of. Breakfast on the veranda . . . a leisurely stroll through town . . . life is good!

Sis and I stayed at this quaint and comfy inn during our first visit to Beaufort. We were attending a Marine Corp graduation on Parris Island and opted to stay at the Rhett House after reading several great reviews on Tripadvisor and Yelp. We were beyond pleased with our decision. Room #2 was small but cozy. Our bed was comfy and although the semi-private balcony went unused, it was quite inviting. Breakfast was awesome! At home, I never wake up early enough for breakfast but during this trip, I made it a point to wake up in time to enjoy each morning's tasty offerings. And they were tasty... The staff is fantastic! The morning of the graduation, the kitchen staff arrived early, just to get breakfast ready for us since we had to leave before the usual dining hours. The manager also gave us dining and shopping suggestions that were only a few blocks away from our locale. And let me tell ya, the variety of eats in Beaufort will satisfy even the most discerning palate. So, lets add it all up: Centrally located+friendly/efficient staff+attentive and knowledgable management+tasty breakfast/evening desserts+comfy room= 5 stars and a return trip this December! You do the math!

"AWESOME place to stay in a quaint historic town" 5 of 5 starsReviewed October 2, 2013 on TripAdvisor We know Beaufort... we know Beaufort very well, so we are not the typical incidental tourist. However, this is the first stay at the Rhett House. We spied it many times, but took the dive and now wondered why we waited so long. We normally stay at a chain hotel just adjacent as it was priced well for us, all the time wondering how things would be at the grand ol' B&B just behind. Well Anya and Josh were wonderful hosts... I was in town for business and will continue to use the Inn as their corporate rates are very competitive. It happened to be my 7th wedding anniversary weekend, and my wife decided to surprise me by driving down to stay the evening. The staff was most accommodating in allowing me to have a 7:15AM breakfast (45-minutes prior to when it was normally offered) so I could get in a hearty breakfast before work. The ladies in the kitchen were super nice in providing a great start to my day. Josh was the evening host and the late afternoon appetizers and wine were a nice touch. We even went on a 40-minute bike ride around town (on the complementary cruisers the inn has for guests). This is 5-STAR treatment. Room was #7 a popular double queen w/ private entrance to the garden and fountain in the back of the Inn. We will be back!!!! [on our 2nd stay for two nites Joyce and David took good care of us and Beverly the cook and server came in again extra early to serve us a early breakfast] SaleebScore: Service 9.5/10, Comfort: 9/10, Breakfast 8/10 Overall: 9/10 a grand experience and this IS the BEST B&B we have stay in in Beaufort... Room Tip: Have the innkeepers help you with a map to local restaurants. Don't forget about the complement... I have to give the Rhett House 5 stars as the accommodations and service do not get any better than here. The staff is welcoming and helpful. We were greeted with a glass of champagne as well as a tour of the common areas and a thorough explanation of how things work in the house (i.e.. the honor bar, open kitchen, etc.) The food that is included is extraordinary. It was lovely to have breakfast on the veranda in the morning. Our room (#2) was beautifully renovated and had such a comfortable bed. After we left, I discovered that I left behind my prescription glasses. When I called, the staff was gracious enough to mail them to me in Philadelphia. Again, we had a wonderful experience and I would absolutely recommend the inn to anyone going to Beaufort!

Excellent experience. Every staff member was extremely pleasant . Great breakfast. Because of the age of the building, the second floor had only one AC unit so you don't have individual temperature control in your room. Our room must have been 62 even though the hallway thermostat was set on 72. But the plush bedding kept that from being a big deal. Overall, very impressed.

LOVED staying at Rhett House Inn! My husband and I usually prefer hotels to B&Bs, but not in this case. Shannon checked us in, and was extremely friendly and helpful. The inn itself is beautiful, inside and out! Our room was clean, pretty, nice and cool, and had free wi-fi. We were able to bring beach chairs/towels from RHI to Hunting Island Beach, which was super convenient. Pie set out each night...so good! Will definitely be back.

Simply put, the best Bed and Breakfast I've ever stayed at. Every (and I do mean EVERY) detail of your stay is taken care of. The room was spacious, charming, and featured a jacuzzi tub AND a 30-foot PRIVATE porch running the length of the room. The room was bright and airy when the blinds were open, and cool and private when they were closed. The staff takes care of every detail. The included breakfast each morning is comfort food at its best, and the amenities they offer (bikes, beach chairs and towels, etc) make this place truly feel like you are staying with a friend. The rates are a bit pricy, but well worth it. There are snacks, drinks, and desserts offered in the living room or kitchen of the inn virtually non-stop until 9 PM each day. The waitstaff is friendly, and the place is as charming and beautiful as any home you will see in the south.

I stayed here this past weekend for the long Labor Day weekend, and it was delightful! The Rhett House Inn is a perfect place to read the paper, stay fed, work a crossword puzzle, sip on sweet tea vodka (really), and generally do nothing. From the included Southern Breakfast each morning, to lemonade and tea all afternoon, to the desserts each evening (ah, the heavenly walnut pie), my experience here made me want to pack up shop and move back to the South. The huge wrap-around veranda is quintessential southern coastal town, and the free bikes provided by the inn are the perfect way to roam lazily through the quiet streets. I don't remember the last time I felt like a kid in summertime; it was the perfect ending to summer. The beach is a relatively short and picture-perfect drive away, replete with grassy sea marshes, tethered shrimp boats, and soaring birds. I loved this place, and I can't wait to go back.

We stayed at the Rhett house for three nights in September/October 2011. Our room was located across the street from the main building and was rather charming, upstairs in the front which included a nice porch with furniture. We enjoyed the delicious breakfasts each morning and the front desk people were very nice and helpful. We were loaned bicycles one day to tour the area and we enjoyed the ride. A couple of downsides: I would think that the street the inn is located on (our building) would be quiet but every night there were people walking and talking, some screaming. (perhaps the sound carried and the windows may have been thin?). Also, the last night we were there, the nighttime weather changed and we were a bit cold, the heater didn't work and we did not see an extra blanket in the closet. The room could have been a bit cleaner, the rug in the bathroom was stained and some of the furniture was a bit dusty. On at least two mornings, dishes that were on our table for breakfast were not clean and had to go back. Other than those things, the location was perfect, walking distance to everything. We enjoyed our time in Beaufort!
