Was in town on business on a Monday night and none of the local BBQ restaurants were open so I found this place on Yelp and decided to try them out and am so happy I did. It was relatively slow but I was greeted immediately and served hot chips and excellent salsa. The salsa bar had a few other salsas I tried and all were excellent with their own distinct flavor and heat levels. As I read through the menu I received my beer and some of the best guacamole I have had. I ordered Shrimp in a Creamed Chipotle sauce and it was amazing. The owners came out and we talked about their restaurant and their specials and they were so personable. I will try to eat here whenever I am in town and grabbed a couple of menus to share with others that love Mexican food like I do. The local company I visited were not aware of them so I left a menu there and hope they will support them as well. In short Excellent Real Mexican food .... Just like when I travel south of the border.

Stopped in while in town on business. Slow night so not sure what to expect. Was met at the door with friendly greeting. Chips were fresh and came with three different salsas. Ordered the Shrimp Fajitas and they were outstanding!

This place must be one of this town's best kept secrets. Strategically located at a gas station; yes, at a Shell station! Do not get discouraged, this restaurant is the real deal and has better food than your typical standalone joint. Besides their traditional Americanized version of their Mexican flair, they offer TRULY authentic comída mejicana. The Carnitas I ordered were outstanding, fresh and delicious as recommended by the server. Great service, good food and huge portions. ¡Thank you TP!

Really good Mexican... Much more authentic than most. I'm just not able to rate it a five given that it's in the same building with a modern gas station.... I know this is weird, but an old gas station is ok, a current station is not.

Have been here a few times, decent food. More "authentic" than other Mexican food in town. However our last and probably final experience, we decided to use a Restaurant Certificate we had purchased. As soon as we presented it, the owner/lady who was also our server got frustrated and loud saying they didn't take those any more. Her attitude and customer service at this point really went down hill. I even told her we had purchased 2 of those certificates and all she could say was too bad. Even with that, I still left more than a 20% tip....my mistake. She did give a discount but wow, poor attitude.

Very good and authentic. Some of the best lengua (cow tongue) tacos I've ever eaten. Horchata is pretty good and available every day. Salsas in the salsa bar are very good and for a small restaurant they have a very large selection of beer abailable.

I was definitely surprised when I found this little place next to the gas station, but man was it great! Very friendly staff, great food, and terrific prices. They have beer and margaritas, just don't try to go for drinks on a Sunday. Look forward to going back on Tuesday for 99 cent tacos!

Delicious food! Different from every other Mexican restaurant in the area. The plates come out looking aesthetically pleasing also, which shows they take great care. I love the chicken enchiladas with tomatillo salsa.

Stopped here for lunch while travelling. Was a little unsure at first, as it's housed right next to a gas/C-store, but there were plenty of cars parked in front, so... Restaurant was bright and clean. I ordered a ham torta, and a lengua taco and beef taco. Tacos were good, torta was really tasty, if a bit less ham than I'd have liked. Bread was soft and sweet. I didn't go away hungry. Off the beaten path by a couple of blocks, but worth the search.

This place has the best Mexican food I can find in Anderson. One of my favorite things to do is to go by and order the daily lunch special without looking at what I'm ordering; I always get a pleasant surprise. The most memorable of those lunches was enchiladas with mole. Absolutely delicious. The chips are also very good there.

This place is the bomb.com ! My fiance and I stopped there after church. We lived in Amarillo, TX for a few years so we were looking for some authentic Mexican that would satiate our taste buds. This place did not disappoint! The service was great and food was AMAZING! If you haven't visited yet because it's next to a gas station then shame on you. Such a gem! We will go back often!

This place is great! Some friends and I went on our lunch break from work for their $0.99 taco Tuesday deal. My husband got four tacos and it was plenty of food. Homemade corn tortillas, lots of meat (and many meat options!) and onions and cilantro. They have fresh pico at the salsa bar. I ordered the beef and bean nachos, and they were delish! We will definitely be a regular now that we've given this place a shot.

I was passing by on my way to Atlanta when I read reviews for this restaurant. If it wasn't for the reviews, I would have never stopped here. Everything was great!!! The food was delicious! I only wish this place was closer to where I live so I could visit more often.

Great food and inexpensive. I'm a. Rep and this is my first time here. It's not my last! It's by a gas station that made me a little nervous, but no reason

After living 25 yrs in NYC expectations are high for food. This hole in the wall was excellent. Authentic. Homemade. Highly recommend. Inexpensive. Ask for a little more tequila in the margarita.

So I am in a new journey here in the South! To be more specific, here in South Carolina. So our first stop was a mexican joint, good food, great service you can get your mexican urges met here. The tacos are pretty decent and they have a great taste specially the adobada taco. The Horchata sweet rice water is awesome and there salsa bar is very good and fresh! Also try there rolled fried sugar coated fruit taquitos, they are so good and unique!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
