Being from a large metropolitan city before moving to the Anderson SC area, we have a hard time finding any ethnic restaurants, let alone any that are tasty. This is an awesome super yummy thai eatery. The portions are generous, the thai tea has a refill(Awesome!), there is some spicy kick to the dinners and they let you pick your spicy level. We come here somewhat regularly and try different dishes and have never been disappointed with either the good nor the service. And no, I don't work there, just because I am literate and have a positive opinion of the place. One of our favorite places to eat out at.

Excellent fine for a quick lunch. My sister in law can I drop by on the way to Asheville. She ordered the pad Thai and thought it was one of the best she had ever had and she Travels all over the United States. I have the Thai basil chicken and also thought it was one the best night ever had! We live in Atlanta and have a lake house on Lake Hartwell you're my husband and I know frequent this place often up on the weekends. Heading there today and hoping to try something new! I will advise! Also the waitress we had was super sweet it was well-informed about the menu!

My Girlfriend always wants to go to the trendy new place downtown and I have wanted to come here ever since it became Mint 2. Finally I put my foot down and said we are going to Mint 2. It was the best from service to food( really awesome). The atmosphere leaves a little wanting but this is high standards for the area. I highly recommend Mint2 and my Girlfriend ate everything that they served no matter that she still likes the trendy places.

I ordered online, never heard of the place before but I like trying out new restaurants. I arrive and see "worlds best Thai, worlds best food" and immediately thought "this will probably be terrible". My food was ready upon arrival (15 minutes after ordering) and got out. The food smelled amazing, but still iffy. I get home and open up the boxes, and by far the best Asian cuisine I've had in a long time. This is my new to go place.

I'm a big fan of Thai food and this place absolutely exceeded my expectations. The servers were generous and attentive. The food did take a little while to come out... but that's because they were making it fresh to order. I can't remember the last time I got such flavorful handmade dumplings. We often order one or two more dishes than we need (expecting to not like something), but here everything we got was carefully made and delicious. Prices were right on track. The space itself isn't super inspiring but the food more than made up for it!

Iama Critic Rating - Mint 2 - 5 Stars 100 Station Drive, Anderson, SC Overall: Mint 2 of Anderson just opened and it's the offspring of Mint 2 in Decatur, Georgia. Mint 2's grand opening is April 3rd, and if their grand opening cuisine is anything like they served to me, you don't want to miss it because you are in for a spectacular treat. I went to this restaurant back when it was Thai Spice and I watched that restaurant go down hill due to lack of concern for the customers, but Mint 2's service was remarkable and attentive and earned the rare percentage due for four star service. And Mint 2's food was just as remarkable, and it needed to be because their prices require a high level of quality in order to give their customers a decent value for their money. The Food: $1.50 - Thai Iced Tea - 4 Stars Some of the best Thai iced tea I ever tasted. Perfect for taming the "Thai Hot" food I ordered. Unfortunately I did not ask about refills, so that is a question you need to ask. If they allow refills this tea just might be five stars. $5.99 - Fresh Basil Rolls - 3 Stars The basil rolls were supremely fresh, and without sauce had a good flavor, but they had a bit too much noodle and not enough of the good stuff. It cried out for more shrimp, and at $3 each they deserve it. The sauce I received was wonderful. Keep it! Ask for more! It is good on everything! $13.99 - Seafood Salad - 4 Stars Wow, my pictures looks better than the menu pictures! How rare to receive food better than the menu pictures! This salad had a host of seafood inducing shrimp, mussels, squid and scallops. Even for it's high quality, it is just a bit pricey for its size. I just had a similarly wonderful dish at another place for several dollars less. $16.99 - Shu She Salmon - 5 Stars Another dish that simply blew the menu picture away! They ought to use my picture for the menu! This entree came straight down from Heaven! I can't remember the last time I have such a perfect piece of Salmon! And that panang curry is simply phenomenal! The portion was very generous and thick! I will dream about the salmon for months! $12.99 - BBQ Squid - 5 Stars A truly unique entree. I have only seen something like it once before. But Mint 2 cooked their's right. When they say BBQ, they don't mean slathered with wet sauces, they mean a "cooked in" essence of BBQ with a perfectly light brushing. Squid is as mild as it gets, and gets rubbery if it isn't grilled right. My squid was cooked perfectly and was firm yet with a wonderful texture. Again, what I was served looked better than the menu! $13.99 - Mint Roll - 5 Stars This deep fried sushi roll with salmon, spicy tuna, white tuna, mint, and avocado was just incredible. I have had so many sushi's that were bad and smelly or fresh and tasteless, but this sushi simply bursts with flavor! Maybe in the top 10% of all the sushi I have had. It is much better than the fake, outrageously expensive sushi I had at Tokyo Bay! However, like most, Mint 2 utilizes imitation crab meat, which I never order. Final Thoughts: When you get to this level of quality and price, it is hard to know the perfect rating for each and every dish. Some things are easy, like the salmon. $17 is a chunk of change for salmon. I have paid more, but not very often. But the salmon portion was LARGE and the flavor was so amazing that its price almost became irrelevant. This salmon would be comfortable in even the best fine dinning restaurants. So $17 is pretty cheap for such a great experience. The other items, like the BBQ Squid are so unique that there is no other reference to compare it too. The squid was the best whole squid I ever had, but it is also the only whole squid I ever had. I have eaten hundreds of pounds of squid, but adult squid are not the same as the tiny little ones we normally eat. I never rate a dish on whether or not I liked it, my opinion is irrelevant, I almost always critique an entree in comparison to the hundreds of other similar entrees I have had. That is why it takes years to become a great critic, because you have had to of eaten just about everything and be able to recall the aroma and flavor of each entree. So until I have another whole BBQ's squid, this marvelous entree is the King of Squids! I have one last thought. I have had amazing luck with Thai restaurants! I know of as many fabulous Thai restaurants as I do horrid Mexican restaurants. It seems that more than any other ethnic group, the Thais seemed to have their act together better than all the rest. Serious, if you are going to choose between Mexican and Thai, your odds are better going Thai! I wish the best of luck to the folks at Mint 2 with their grand opening and their continued prosperity. But as my highest ranking Asian restaurant in Anderson they just may not actually need any luck! But they will always need to remember that their "Customers are King". Lest the follow the same self-defeating path as Thai Spice!

I have experienced Thai food in Asia, San Fran, Seattle, and now Anderson. I would rank Mint 2 up with that category of delectable Thai. Such authentic and fresh ingredients. The coconut soup is a must!! And so fragrant!! Wow a must if you are in Anderson!!

Great thai food and service! I loved their green and also red curry dishes. Sushi is good there as well. Also love the Thai tea.

One of the worst Thai experiences of my life. The soup was something my grandmother could have made, not bad chicken soup but hardly the zesty Tom Yung Gai I expected. No lemmongrass, no kaffir lime leaves, no ginger. What kind of Tom Yung soup is that? There was no sour flavor at all. No real heat either. It looks as if they put in some flavorless chili oil, but that just made the soup oily. My Red Curry Chicken was served in a flavorless brown curry sauce. Nuff said. Save yourself some money, just eat some dry white toast, it'll be like eating at Mint 2!

It took over 30 minutes to just get a warm soggy ginger salad and room temperature miso soup. The server brought out first entree and then the next 2 entrees arrived 10 minutes later. The sushi wasn't fresh and had a strong fishy odor. They don't honor the lunch entree prices on the weekends and don't mention it...... They just leave you a high-priced bill. My bill was over $13 for the lunch portion of green curry and tea. I would never go back due to inefficient servers, high prices, and substandard food.
