Had lunch yesterday with three other women. Place was basically empty, usually not a good sign, but maybe Saturday lunch times isn't Savini's thing. Server was friendly and helpful. Salad and dressing were boring--greens reminded me of tired supermarket type and were chopped too finely; dressing had no flavor. Pan seared scallops were good, nicely cooked, as we're mashed potatoes, but green beans were overlooked and boring (almond slivers at the least would have taken it up a notch). Tried the bread pudding dessert-- I've had way better. This version wasn't tasty. Coffee was colored water. Not a memorable experience--Woonsocket has way better restaurants for the same pricing.

Had my daughter's baby shower here and it was a great choice. The brunch was delicious and reasonably priced; we were given 1/2 the restaurant to use for 50 people and it was big enough with extra tables for the gifts, prizes, and cake. Our waitresses were attentive and helpful. We were asked if we wanted to include bar drinks (other than the glass of orange juice and carafes of coffee which were included in the price) in the bill ahead of time. Pitchers of iced water were on the tables. We were allowed to decorate much earlier than the 10am shower start time. The atmosphere was pleasant and the restaurant nicely decorated. All in all it was an effortless shower and went very smoothly. Only request from the owner was "no confetti" when decorating. This was not a problem and totally understandable. Would book a shower here again.

The food is pretty mediocre and the service leaves a lot to be desired. I've been here several times but most recently, we waited almost 15 minutes to get our drinks which were just soda and water. The food itself did come quickly once she took our order and it was decent. The food is really inexpensive. It was $20 for a cheeseburger with fries, a soda, chicken Parm, a salad, and dessert. This is not someplace I'd recommend to people (except maybe my grandparents; they might like it) and it's certainly not someplace go on a date but you do get quite a bit of decent food for almost as cheap as McDonalds or Subway.

I am absolutely livid and disgusted by this place. My family hosted a dinner here after my sister's funeral. We chose this place for the family-style chicken dinner because it was easy and supposed to be inexpensive (we were told $9.95 per person). We had 51 people there. When we arrived, carafes of coffee were already on the table. We were asked if we wanted soda. We said no, but we'll have water. They gave us bottled water. We knew better to ask for a carafe of tap water after that and we thought it was pretty low of them to bring us bottled without asking. We knew the drinks would be extra (soda, hot chocolate, and the bottled water they gave us), but we didn't expect the coffee to be extra since it was already on the table. They proceeded to serve us soup, salad, the chicken, pasta and potatoes for sides, and ice cream. Since all this was just served to us without a word, we assumed it was included. Since the coffee was already on the table, we assumed it was included. The bill comes, and the total is almost twice what we expected to pay. We could have gone to a nice restaurant for that price. Turns out the coffee, soup, and ice cream were extra. They served it to us without consulting us or informing us that it wasn't included in the dinner. Also, they charged per person for coffee when they gave us carafes at each table. Not sure how they figured out a per person charge for the carafes. Utterly ridiculous. They completely took advantage of a large, grieving party of people to serve what we didn't ask for so they could double our bill. We are satisfied with other vendors we needed to go through for the funeral, so, no, I am not a complainer. Yes, I am angry about this behavior from Savini's....extremely. Not only did they price-gauge us, but the food was terrible. I didn't really expect the food to be all that great since family-style places aren't usually, but I am pissed we paid so much for sub-par food. The soup was extremely salty and tasted canned. The salad was also salty. The chicken was dry; everyone was looking for gravy or something to put on it. My husband didn't eat the food after tasting it and ate when we got home. The coffee was of poor quality and was cold quickly. All the plates and utensils were dirty. I had to wash out my coffee cup before using it. I noticed the place setting on the empty table next to us was coated in dust. The bathrooms were cold. It took us several asks to get water refills and napkins. I wouldn't have been too upset about the food or service if it was really $9.95 per person (plus drinks, tax, and tip) like they told us on the phone. But, I am disgusted they feel okay with taking advantage of us.

Gee, what happened to this old time favorite? Went to dinner the other night with some family members. We all chose seafood plates. I chose blackened swordfish. The meal started with a small salad which was fine. Then my dinner came. My first bite of fish was so tough and overcooked I couldn't even chew the thing. Then I cut into one of my roasted potatoes and it was rotten on the inside. I sent my dish back asking for a piece of fish that was not overcooked. Our waitress was very good. She seemed to always be apologizing for something. When I finally got my dinner, nearly everyone else was done eating. Not too great. Anyhow, this piece of fish was much larger and thicker and not overcooked, however, it had a funny flavor. After eating half I had to stop. On and the roasted potatoes? They gave me a baked potato instead. I never even cut into it considering it wasn't what I ordered. My sister was very disappointed with her lobster ravioli as well. The food was very poor. And again, the not having coke products forced me to just have water,, which everyone else did too. This IS NOT the place I remember when I was growing up. Except for the dark dated décor. That hasn't seemed to change. Hate to come back to Woonsocket for a visit, go to a place I have such great memories of, and have them shattered. Needless to say, I will not be back.

Came for Sunday brunch made reservations and no one called us to tell us that they were closed due to one inch of snow. ONE INCH! We live in new England! No one bothered to call us. 11 people including my grandmother managed the fierce one inch blizzard to get to the resuarant. Add to that some of the worst service in the area and sub par food and I will not be returning. Due us all a favor and lock your doors and find a new line of work.

6 of us had family style chicken there today. Service was OK, food was fair. We were charged for 8 coffees and only 4 of us had coffee; total coffee cost; $16.00, we asked for water and instead of getting a glass of water for free, they gave us bottled water and charged $2.25 per bottle. Go figure, we were never asked if we wanted bottle water, I assumed something was wrong with the tap water. A sneaky way to padding the bill. For dessert, we had one apple pie, two pecan pies, and one pumpkin pie. They charged us for 5 pies instead of 4 @ 5.95 a piece. They then proceeded to automatically add a 20% tip. What a great racket they have, over charged, over billed, over rated. Avoid this place at all costs. The Rookie Critic.

Attended a function and a combination of chicken and roast beef were served family style. Starting the meal were cold buns along side the salad. There was something off on the salad dressing. The main meal consisted of roast chicken that was dry and appeared old or reheated, sliced roast beef, french fries that were not cooked through and pasta topped with a bland sauce. The atmosphere inside the function room is stale and sorely in need of an update. The owners daughters run another restaurant in the city Ciro's Tavern and it is the complete opposite experience from this location.

I am very disappointed and upset at Ms. Savini, and her cagey business standards. Recently, my family hosted a dinner there after my mother's funeral. We chose Savini's for their reputation for traditional family-style chicken and its easy access from the funeral (which was in the middle of a blizzard.) Upon arriving, we were asked if we wanted soda served. Without being told it was extra, we agreed and found pitchers of $6.95 soda on the tables. Then we were asked if we would like soup served, since "it was a good day for nice hot soup". The idea was comforting and so I agreed. Again, no mention of an extra charge so I assumed it was included (yes, I know the aphorism about the arse and you and me). What's worse is the chicken was dry and over cooked. The soup was so salty it must have elevated the lowest of blood pressures there! They had only one other funeral party so they weren't overly busy - no need for dry chicken and heavy handed salt shakers. When I received the bill it was almost THREE TIMES what we had expected at $9.95 per person for 33 adults and 2 children. Coffee, hot chocolate, soda, soup, and dessert are NOT included. Agreeable, tips for that size crowd are usually 20%, and worth it. However, the rest of it was price gouging. I understand she's done this before - taking advantage of grieving families who aren't paying attention and who are glad to have "someone" there who they can trust and take control. And M knows exactly how to do that, without of course mentioning the word "extra". Either raise the price to include all of the above or make it a point to LET THE PATRON know exactly what is and is NOT included. "Honesty is the best Policy"

I came to Savini's for the first time in ages for dinner with my grandmother. I got the Anna Savini's Combo which consisted of 2 Stuffed manicotti, sausage, meatball, & roasted peppers served with fries, soup or salad. The manicotti was meh at best but everything was good not great. One good thing about Savini's is it is very reasonably priced for Italian Food so not a bad place to eat in Woonsocket. Savini's also has a Sunday Brunch Buffet. If I was reviewing this place just on their Brunch it would be 5 stars. I was very impressed with the selection, the quality, and the price. They also have some of the best Corned Beef Hash, I have ever had. If you are looking for a nice Sunday Brunch, I would highly recommend Savini's

The food here is pretty good. The family style chicken is better here than other places I've been to.

I recently attended a large birthday celebration which was held in the hall. The food was family style chicken, pasta, French fries and salad. I enjoyed all of the dishes. The services was good and the hall was comfortable. The dance floor is huge, we had a great time dancing the night away. I had a great experience here for a large gathering.

We had my nieces's first communion party here. The food was OK but their private room got so darn HOT. The staff never seemed to bring ice water or anything over to us. If you want some OK family style chicken this is A place to go but there are better.

I'm giving Savini's a 4 star rating because I've never had Porketta before and it was very good. Lots of garlic and pepper. Hard to find spicy food in Woonsocket. I liked it and also my parents both enjoyed their "special". The Rib Eye was a great deal. Everyone was happy.

The food here is mediocre at best, unfortunately. I've been several times because my parents like the family style chicken. The service is ok, but the food is never very good.

Not a bad place to eat only when you leave the waitress runs out in the parking lot to ask where her tip was. Come to find out the other waitress working with her pocketed her tip it very embrassing. Owner never did anything about it after I call.

Rhode Island is loaded with good italian restaurants, Marchetti's being one of the best, and even though many will go to Savini's for their family style chicken, it's no better than the Village Haven or Wright's Chicken Farm. I tried their broiled seafood platter and other than the baked haddock the rest was awful. The scallops were bay scallops and terribly over cooked. The baked stuffed shrimp were puny and dominated by the stuffing. The veggies were straight out of the can. My girlfriend had the special which looked good but lacked punch. They did offer complimentary family style bread and soup. Soup was homemade and very good, but the bread was cold, pre-sliced and not worth the calories. Service was a bit slow and the decor is beyond outdated, except for the paper table clothes that get replaced in between meals. Another complaint, came once on a Tuesday b/c their website said they were open, but the sign on the door said Sorry Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. My suggestion, call first, as they also hold functions from time to time.

Food here isn't anything great. I had baked scallops which were like rubber and drowned in butter. My pasta was mush. I gave it 2 stars because the servers were friendly.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
