It was our first time visiting the restaurant and we really enjoyed it. The wait was about 15 minutes and we were able to listen to live music while waiting. We were seated in the back which was tucked away and relatively quiet compared to the rest of the seating. I didn't mind it a bit. We had a great server. John had a smile on his face the entire time and a great sense of humor. He really made our night. Since I had been craving a burger I ordered a medium Classic Burger with cheddar cheese with the fried. Folks, the burger came out a perfect medium pink. It was juicy and delicious. I am glad I opted for the cheddar - it was a nice change of pace. The fries were delicious as well. My huband ordered the Seafood Marinara. The dish was really large and came with shrimp, scallops, swordfish and mussels. All the fish was cooked perfectly which we have found to be a difficult task at othe restaurants. So for the main dishes they hit a home run. The salad bar is a nice touch and really rounded out the meal. All the normal items as well as pasta and potato salad. We were really full so we skipped dessert but next time we will definitely try one. Our server John stated he loved making them and from what I saw when he brought out other diners desserts they looked great. The food was really good. I mean, REALLY GOOD. Kudos to the chef . We will be coming back to try out more of the entrees. Now for the downside. The live music was really loud. So loud you had to raise your voice to be heard. I would have loved to have stayed in the bar and listened to the music but it was just too overwhelming. But that being said it won't keep us away. We look forward to our next visit in the very near future. It is well worth a visit to check it out.

Very friendly staff made this family meal fun and satisfying =] The onion soup was amazing, a must have! My king cut prime rib was a little tougher then it should've been and they don't have a creamy horseradish sauce, but it was actually enjoyable nonetheless. The $22 baked stuffed shrimp and prime rib combo my wife had was a good value and tasted delicious. Kids meals works as expected. Will come again for the onion soup for sure!

We almost did not dine here last night because of the reviews we read on yelp. However, we decided to give it a try. So glad we did. The service, even on a Saturday night, was fast, efficient, and friendly. Our server was polite, up beat, and could not have done a better job. We both ordered the baked stuffed lobster, which was loaded with perfectly cooked scallops, buttery stuffing and sweet, tender lobster meat. The sides were well prepared and the salad bar was fully stocked. Our beverages were ice cold and our meals were fresh and hot. The prices cannot be beat. We will definitely return.

Housed in the former shell of the old Warwick mainstay Bassett's Inn, this restaurant seems essentially the same. The name, signs and some of the menu have changed but it is basically the same restaurant under new ownership. I've ordered a few things here, usually take away and have been utterly underwhelmed. When you call to order you get a really goofy recorded message with someone saying "Welcome to Sam's Inn!" in an over the top uber fake New England (or possibly British, unsure because either way- *bad*) accent. Don't be deterred, the humans you eventually reach are nice. The food is mostly the same (under seasoned for the regular customers) American fare. I do like the baked onion soup, it's decent. Most recently I ordered a BLT. I asked for extra extra pickles on the side (to throw on the sandwich) and I got three measly pickle chips. The fries had NO salt on them, but once I added some they were, again decent. The sandwich itself had lots of lettuce and bacon, no complaint there but they should use a heartier bread. It seemed like regular ol' white bread and lacked integrity to support the sandwich's innards. My experience with Sam's Inn has been, so far, average. I won't say I will not eat here again, but it's not one of my "go to" places. Three stars it is.

Good food, friendly staff, and the live band was great! Everything on the menu was reasonably priced and there's something on there for everyone

Ok food nothing great. The food comes in big portions. Staff is nice. But I don't think I will ever come back. Not worth the money or the time.

Sat for 15 minutes with out being greeted by a server. Called over the hostess and she took our order....food was subpar at best. My chicken Marsala was mainly oil and an overwhelming amount of garlic. I simply finished it out of starvation. Now I sit at my house feeling like I'm going to up chuck and a very bad stomach ache. I won't be returning!

Not wanting to risk a wait at the Crow's Nest, I opted to go to the venerable Bassett's Inn, unaware of the ownership change. I was encouraged that everything "looked the same" - even that oversized red Naugahyde chair in the bathroom a few feet from the urinals. (I always found that chair creepy, but it least it demonstrated continuity.) I only get home to Rhode Island once every few years, I was looking forward to a nice bucket of steamers. What came out was underwhelming: not very hot (probably left sitting to have my appetizer selection brought out simultaneously with my friend's entrée.) It was "okay" but not nearly on par with the serving size or quality of many past meals at Bassett's Inn. My friend's meal was equally uninspiring: just "okay" but bland. It wasn't bad enough to throw in the towel.....but definitely not an experience I'd want to put on my "must go" list on an infrequent trip home. By comparison, Duffy's Tavern (Wickford) was so good that I went there twice: snail salad and lobster roll. Great grades also for Twin Oaks, Crow's Nest and Buttonwoods Fish & Chips. I will be sure to revisit those "ol' faithful" venues next trip - can't say the same for Sam's.

Worst experience ever. I took my family there last night and it was awful. The waitress was amazing, but the manager was awful. I ordered linguini with clam sauce. The pasta was bland and the sauce was bland. Not only that, but they out lobster in the sauce without putting it on the menu or informing you when you ordered it. I am deathly allergic to lobster. I took one taste and I was swelling instantly. The waitress was wonderful about it and was very sweet. The manager not only didn't come over for about 15 minutes after the incident, when I was already swollen and could barely speak, but she was ABSOLUTELY HORRIFICALLY RUDE. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!!!!!! She blamed it on me and basically yelled at me for it. She never once apologized nor did she take any responsibility for her restaurant. She told me I should know better to tell restaurants my allergies. However, for something that people have severe allergies to, like lobster, it should be on the description of the menu. Never ever again. The food was mediocre for the rest of my family. Not kid friendly at al. I had to ask for crayons, coloring book, and a booster seat, even though I told the staff prior I had a young child. Never again. AWFUL!!!

I thought there had been renovations inside and sadly I don't think there were any. We were in the mood for comfort food & a quick meal, this fit the bill. Baked scrod was good & the draft beer pure tasting indicating clean taps. The place was packed & everyone eating, priced fairly. For a quick hit, not bad.
