Filling menu choice Better than any chain place Salad bar extra Hearty home style food. I had the 12oz Angus steak with mashed potatoes, vegetables and the salad bar. The steak was just as I'd asked (medium), and there was certainly enough food to fill me up for the price ($19 w/ salad bar). Places like Bassett's are a nice change from the beaten path of Applebees, Chili's, etc. and have a fairly commensurate price that it makes it worth going there instead. I would like to go when the kitchen is really going, a Friday night perhaps, instead of a Sunday night when I went. Certainly a good restaurant for any occasion that won't put a big dent in your wallet.

Better than ever! I lived in the neighborhood where the Inn is located my whole life. The food was always good growing up but the last few times we ate there it was terrible, over priced and just a waste of money. That last time was 2 years ago and we said we'd never go back. Knowing that they are now under new ownership, we decided to give it a go. And I am happy to say it was good! The salad bar was fresh, more options than I remember, I got the baked stuffed haddock (and though I thought it had too much stuffing), it was cooked perfect and tasted great. The butternut squash was to die for! I am happy that this locale business has made a come back. We will go back!

First time back in a long time and we were pleasantly surprised. After several mediocre meals in the past 5 years this place seems to have gotten its act back together! We will be back!!!

Service just a slow is the clientele. After waiting 15 minutes to get my very mediocre salad, I don't know if I can make it to get my wrap I get it it's a time warp. you enter young and by the time you get your food you're eighty!

Since the new ownership, it hasn't been the same. Service and food quality went down in my eyes anyway. Definitely takes a while to get drinks and food. Nothing great it's ok.

This place USED to be good, but since changing owners it's horrible. It lacks any sort of atmosphere and needs a complete rehab. The menu is basically the same, but the quality of the food is not as good as it used to be. Especially for the prices they charge. Their Lobster Roll used to be one of my favorites - but I got it that past Saturday and it was tasteless and had way too much mayo in it. Bread served before the dinner was stale and everyone's dinner was simply lacking. I would never go back. Don't waste your time here.

I really enjoyed this place. Our waitress was amazing, the salad bar was fresh and had all of the basics (great potato salad too) the prices were right on and the pace of the meal was great. I'm coming back.

This was my first time here I went on a Friday night and waited in the bar for my table. The crowd seemed to be older and regulars. There was a man singing in the bar which was a full house and all the food dishes looked great. We were finally seated. The menu was somewhat overwhelming but I chose the baked fish and scallops served with a lobster cream sauce on the side. My food was very good fresh. The salad bar that was offered was a little cheesy. I would not say this place is a date night but yet a good economical place to take the family.

Bassett's is one of those places we kept passing by and saying, "oh we have to try that sometime". Well, last night was the night (bet you didn't know!) and we arrived expecting a decently good meal. Which is what we got. First off, the salad bar should be embarassed to call itself one. Located right by the hostess station, it consists of iceberg mix, tomatoes, chickpeas, a couple tired salads and that's about it. Then they expect you to pay an extra $2 for this on top of dinner? To get it alone (?) is a whopping $8.95. righhhht. Now on to the better stuff (sorry, had to get that rant out of the way). We were seated promptly by a very nice gentleman who went out of his way to secure us a booth. thank you! Our server was good, not the best, she seemed to be a bit overextended or had a weird aversion to bringing our water refills! But other than that minor problem she did fine. Our dinners were both quite tasty. Fish and chips (good) and a special - shrimp and scallop florentine (very good). Drinks were on the skimpy side but prepared correctly. We were seated near the back bar and overheard the bartender telling some of the busboys to settle down - she was on top of things - loved her! Overall, we'd go back. The server and staff were very pleasant and the food was good if not great. Basically what we expected - a nice homey local place.

How does it not get five stars??!!!! Straight up delicious pasta and seafood. The chicken parmesan is out of this world - pasta sauce tastes like my step dad's sicilian style home made and quite frankly in the 10 years i've been "dragged" to warwick have yet to be disappointed. Even better yet, for under $20 ya eat like a king and have meal for the next day ( that sometimes taste even better ) !!!

The food just isn't the same since the new owners took over. We had the prime rib which was excellent and the seafood platter. They say the recipes are the same but the the mashed potatoes tasted watery and the stuffing in the baked stuffed shrimp wasn't as tasty, good but not as tasty. The stuffies were just Ok and seemed rather salty. For the price the meal besides the Prime rib and whole fried clams wasn't as tasty as it used to be. The staff as always were cheerful and excellent.

The Inn has been one of those places the family used to get together have Delicious baked stuffed shrimp with filet. That was 8-10 yrs. ago before I BELIVE the son took it over. In the past couple yrs Bassett's B12 or whatever they call it now and they Deliver now! Just Gross!! Fine dining in Styrofoam, keep that for the $6 plates! I would go weekly up to for Sunday chicken or shrimp and filets. The snail salad was reduced at the half a$$ salad bar they have. I use to love The Inn! So said-- update. 11/10. Went there. Under NEW Owners. So much better, back to the old ways!!

I have had several meals here. My favorite is the Yankee Pot Roast! The wait staff is fun and attentive. I like the home like feel in the dinning area. This is a good place for friends who like moms home cooking. I will be back.

Started out with the bacon wrapped scallops. These were terrific with a maple glaze. Wish I didn't have to share them. My main course was the Steak Ala Mama. It was a good sized Angus strip covered with hot peppers and a nice buttery sauce. There was a nice zing from the peppers. There were many more peppers provided than I could eat, but the steak was tender and cooked as ordered. My wife had the Clams Soupa which was served over linguini. There was a mix of chopped clams and whole clams in the dish. The whole clams were cooked perfectly but the chopped clams were a bit overdone. Overall, the dish was good, but not great. Veg sides were good, but nothing special. Service was friendly, quick and acurate. Not sure that I would go out of my way to get here again, but if I was in the neighborhood, I would likely stop in again and sample more of the menu.

A great place to sea food This is the type of place that looks so small on the outside but once you get in the door it suddenly expands. Several large dining rooms and two different bars, one that has four sides that pretty much covers the entire room. The decor is nothing special, sort of pseudo-victorian or something. Not unpleasant but not particularly aesthetic. The food was quite good. The four in our party had eggplant Parmesan , which was served with a huge bowl of pasta and was excellent. Clam strips which were pretty decent. A one and a half pound lobster that was absolutely superb and a liver and onion entree which looked and smelled disgusting but was enjoyed by the person actually consuming it. We were also served some excellent warm bread. The service was also excellent, our waitress brought us more bread without us asking and made sure our coffee and water was always filled. She took the time to explain the different ways to have our meals prepared and was quite perky and friendly. I have driven by Bassett countless times without ever stopping in. I now realize what a mistake that was.

Came here and had the baked stuffed lobster. Lets just say, I paid 24 dollars for bread crumbs!!!! I think i had 3 bites of lobster out of the whole thing. Won't ever go back!

Takeout recently and it was not bad. Chix parm boasted two large sized chix breasts deep fried to perfection with a nice gravy. chix gorgonzola with the perfect balance of collard greens, mushrooms, red peppers and gorgonzola cheese and the baked stuffed haddock. All meals were delicious, We did request bread which they subsequently forgot. Good thing Dave's is down the street from here so when we noticed this error, we were happy to stop in for a fresh loaf. I wont eat here in person because the service is truly horrendous. I will not ever order salad because the hostess likes to inform you that for takeout orders they are not supposed to make salads from their salad bar but she will to be nice. The salad bar is not that great but if the hostess is trying to be nice, she might put something more than just lettuce in the container...just saying.

I ordered the Shrimp Scampi with salad bar ($18.99) and my wife ordered baked scallops with salad bar ($19.99). Both dinners were very good. The scampi was different as it was mostly garlic flavored but still good with plenty of angel hair pasta with it. It was very hot. The scallops were cooked very well and the breading was very tasty complement. If I was reviewing based on food alone it would be 4.5 stars. However, the salad bar was very limited as there seemed to be odd choices for salad toppings (pickled cucumbers, beets, oiled up mushrooms, pasta salad but no carrots or olives or other normal toppings you would expect). The waitress was very nice for the amount of time she talked to us. The main problem was the seating. It is hard to explain but when I first sat down, everything was fine and roomy but when I came back from salad bar there was a person sitting behind me and he happened to squish my seat close to the table so it was a very tight squeeze. Also, it was a bit loud as the dining room is close to the lounge with the tv's blaring. Anyway, I would try it out for the food and i will go again, just not very frequently. They have a restaurant.com coupon to help with the cost.

If you love butter and bread crumbs, this is the place for you. Even the Grilled Swordfish has buttered breadcrumbs on top it. The bassette is a typical resturant for the old timer rhode islanders to eat at that won't be around in another 10 years.
