My wife and I went here for a late lunch after a convention next door. Our server kori was a little scatter brained, but very nice and friendly. I'll take scatter brained and cheerful any day over most wait staff at other restaurants in the mall. The food was good, although the spicy bacon mac and cheese portion was a little small IMO. I didn't finish it, but I expected more for $13. There was plenty of cheese sauce for another 1/2 cup of pasta. The bread they serve was very awkward. it was half of a dome of bread, unsliced? We split a brownie sundae for dessert and it looked huge, until you dug into it and found that it was 1/2" thick at most. I would have rather a 4" round dish with an inch thich brownie than a 6" that i had to scrape the brownie off of. Overall, we'd go back as all the flavors were great and Kori was always very cheerful and it rubbed off and helped our day

Burgers burgers burgers! Yet another review of what I see as a burger place. Honestly I do not know what Joe's is going for here. I mean they have their waiters in american style ties (flag ties) but their steak is 25 dollars. Cheesy but expensive, not a good start. Also when I saw the menu nothing popped out at me like "that seems good" etc. The waiter I had was very.... mono-tone and did not seem to care, especially when we both ordered burgers (pretty much the cheapest thing on the menu.) The man with the mustache looked away and said "ok, sounds good" almost like he had more important things to do other than tend to us. We eventually got our food and it only got worse. The "hand cut fries" tasted frozen, you know that extra freezer burn taste you get? Also the burger was fatty, chewy and overcooked all at the same time, not at all pleasant to my taste-buds. It was so bad I honestly only ate half of my dish even though I was starving, I guess thats what you get for picking a restaurant on a whim. Ohhh, but there is more...... lol. The waiter came over and asked how was it? (Again in a mono-tone voice). I replied "blah, not good at all" he took our plates and said I will get you the check. What? I mean I am not all the one to complain but he acted like we were trying to get our dinner for free or something. A snobby wait-staff (I can not believe it, your serving me....) crappy food and high prices, what is right about this place? Idk maybe the location? Maybe somebody forking over 25 bucks for a NY strip? Nothing in my book to make me go back- Nada in my eyes, AVOID THIS PLACE

after picking up our packet for the providence half marathon, we gots a little hungry and walked over to joes. good menu selection if you are a meat eater. limited for non-meat eaters, but we had the grilled cheese sans bacon and it was buttery, warm, gooey and tasty. the sweet potato fries were good, but not as crispy as i'm use to. the indoor seating area was large and we didn't have to wait at all at noon on a saturday for outside seating. 45 bucks for 2 sandwiches, a chilli, and 4 beers.

This review is for the bar. A nice, clean and friendly place, this bar is tops for me since they have both Guiness and Bass on tap and thus I can get a black and tan. the staff is very friendly and curteous. They also make great sangria!

Been here a couple of times for lunch in the last few months and have not had a problem with either the food or the service. Had a chicken caesar salad the first time, and the crab cakes the second time. Oh, and had some soup both times as well. Both times, the meals were tasty, but nothing extraordinary. Service was attentive and food came out quickly (almost too quickly as the second time I wasn't done with my soup when the entrees came out). Overall, I would not have a problem returning here as the food is okay and the wait (as in none) has been better than at the Cheesecake down the way.

Many problems last night when 5 friends and I went for dinner. We called ahead for 6pm, when we got there, we checked in and they told us a table was about to be cleared off and we would be sitting soon. However after 40 min we asked and were told they forgot about us and after waiting 10 more minutes we were finally sat. At this point we were going to miss our movie at 7:15 we already paid for. Then we ordered two orders of nachos one with and one without sour cream. Wouldn't you know they both came with sour cream we had to send one back and wait 10 min to have it corrected. My friend ordered his pizza with a side of blue cheese and sweet potato fries, and I ordered what the menu Described as a two handed Sandwich, however when I actually got it it was very small and was something I could have easily made at home. The menu also said that it came with a garnish of onion rings but that was not the case. When my friends pizza finally got there the waitress forgot the blue cheese and the sweet potato fries so we had to remind her. Even after reminding her she forgot the second time so he did not get his blue cheese or fries until after everyone else was already done eating. Even at the time she brought the food she ordered another beer, that beer never came. My sister in law had pizza, halfway through she noticed there was a large hard piece of plastic in her pizza. The manager ended up taking the pizza off the bill and gave everyone a discount but there were a lot of excuses made on behalf of the restaurant. She said she normally encourages guests who are waiting for a table to stand near the host or hostess to remind them that they are there, I don't think it is a patrons job to remind them to do their job. If I call ahead and put my name and I should deseeded in a reasonable time without having to remind someone that I'm there. This was my first time going to Joe's American bar and Grill, I can assure you it is our last. In the end, besides the poor service my meal was not what the menu promised me, and my sweet potato fries were cold and soggy, covered in a ton of oil in a mushy mess on my plate. my discount on my bill totalled 6 dollars, not even covering the ticket i had to re-buy for the movie for a later time, not to mention being at the mall later I had to pay $10 for parking instead of 3. Really horrible experience. F.

We enjoyed our server very much...Tabatha was extremely gregarious and sweet...There was one error with the order but aside from that our meals were good...not fantastic but good...the wait was understandably long due to the Water Fires event...We even returned back later that night for dessert...Tabatha served us again with zeal...The fact that the coffee was cold and that the hot cherry oatmeal crumble had no crumbs was no fault of hers...We would go back nevertheless...Tabatha made our experience pleasureable!

Cockroach walked across our table as soon as food was served. Caught it and turned it over to waitress. Needless to say, both she and manager apologized and said we wouldn't have to pay. We quickly left establishment and will not be returning.

One star and I will tell you why. I was 8 months pregnant, gestational diabetes, it was August and 80 some odd degrees out. My husband and I felt like a late lunch, I needed to eat and we figured we'd try Joe's after a stroll in the Providence Place Mall. We had never eaten there before, but it was 3ish and the place was pretty empty. I assumed we'd be handled quickly, I was feeling weak and hot and a salad is what I wanted with a large glass of iced water. We counted 19 waiter/waitresses in a 30 minute time limit who passed us without looking at either of us. At this time, we are both a bit annoyed and decided to wait a little longer. With the exception of maybe 3 other couples, who were in after us and eating, we were still being ignored. We called out to some of the waitstaff and they just walked on by like we weren't there. Finally I said to my husband, I needed to eat something, let's go to B.K., McDonalds, anywhere. So as we head to the door, the manager and one of the waitresses stops us blocking the exit and say, "is anything wrong?" I said, "Oh yeah, we've been here a half hour and 19 of your finest just watched us sit here. I am 8 months pregnant, I have diabetes and I feel very ill." She didn't move from the door. I said, "get out of my way now." She moved. I can't tell you how the food was, because we didn't eat there, I can tell you honestly, the service SUCKED!!! We went to Johnny Rockets instead on the 3rd floor and they were AMAZING!!!

We love this place. The service is good, and the food is consistently good. The prices are a little high for a chain, in my opinion, but still a good place to eat if you're in a hurry and want something tasty.

Eh...I went there on a Saturday night a couple of weeks ago and the place was packed. I sat at the bar and everyone was pretty nice, the atmosphere was pretty nice as well. I think this would be a good place for a group of friends to have dinner before going out for the evening. I would not recommend their pizza unless you like so-so pizza at best. Then again, my reference is Delfina's in SF.

I was at the mall with my boyfriend when my stomach started to growl at me. We were headed to Uno's but decided what they heck lets try Joes. I have always heard mixed reviews so I was skeptical. Can I just tell you it was excellent! First the service was fantastic. The restaurant wasn't very busy. They had their front door/windows open and it was really breezy and cold. Our server offered to shut the because she saw I was shivering. I thought that was awesome. Nowadays it seems like some servers could care less about how the customer is feeling. Our server asked if we had ever been here and we said no, she then told us about the restaurant and the menu. Everything is made to order and everything is 100% fresh, they can even alter dishes to your liking! I had the crab cakes and my boyfriend had some fish dish. It was all excellent. We even took his family here on his graduation and they LOVED it. I recommend this place to everyone!!

We came here kind of late on a Sunday evening. Not many people in the restaurant at all. We were seated right away, and our waitress came by pretty quickly. I ordered the margherita pizza, which was good. Not the best I've ever had, but pretty decent. My cousin ordered the nachos, which was a pretty big order. My hubby ordered a burger, which he said was pretty tasty. Nothing really stood out at this place. We were hungry... Found this place to eat, and ate. It was fine.

Joe's American Bar & Grill has always been a restaurant that I wouldn't hesitate to go to. The clam chowder, huge block of warm bread & butter, roast beef au jus and a few of their signature salads are all my go-to meals. The drinks are big and so are the utensils! "Go big or go home!", say the citizens of our great nation, and so does Joe's American Bar & Grill!

I had the lump meat crab cakes. No complaints. It was good, but did not stand out in any way. As I was alone, I sat at the bar. The service from the bartender was good as well. The rest of the wait staff appeared to be somewhat new and disorganized. I do not know if this was noticed by their customers at the tables. The look of the restaurant would get 4 stars. It was a nice bar look with dark wood and elegant lighting. It was fairly quiet considering the number of people there.

We were in the Providence Mall area looking for somewhere with outdoor seating. I've eaten at a Joe's years ago, but never this one. My man and I got the grilled cheese, minus the bacon, which came with sweet potato fries. The grilled cheese was wonderful. Challah bread, two types of cheese and tomatoes....heaven. The sweet potato fried were disappointing. Didn't taste fresh in the slightest, and were soggy. My sister ordered a cup of chilli which looked pretty good with baked cheese on top. Add 4 beers and we paid about $48.

I just happen to pop into this place after a concert at Waterplace Park one Friday night. We sat at a table just inside the establishment rather than outside on the walkway. The large folding glass wall was open so it was pretty much alfresco dining...but we were 6 feet from the street traffic , noise, and exhaust fumes. The lighting is just right and the service was very good, waitress was very attentive but not overly as some can be. The food was actually very good for Bar n Grill type fare...try the Lobster Mac n Cheese...also the warm Apple Walnut Crisp with Vanilla Ice Cream!!! AWESOME!!! Pricing is reasonable for location meaning not to pricy...I definetly will be back again.....

Not the best choice out of all your options at the mall (I love Fire & Ice and Melting Pot) but it's good old fashioned American food and it's good. People are always breaking things in there though. I'm starting to think that the theme of Joe's is getting people to look for the waiter who dropped the tray of plates. I've seen it in the kitchen and I've seen them do it to customers. Not only at this location either. Anyway, the burgers and buffalo wings are good, portions are decent and the price is average. If you're looking for decent America food, come here. If you want to try something new, go to any of the other restaurants at the mall other than UNO's.

We stopped in here on a whim as we were waiting for the commuter rail to whisk us away to Boston. We were in the mood for a light lunch and opted for the special, a wedge salad with filet mignon. I never patronize chain restaurants (other than Capital Grille or Ruth's Chris), but due to its proximity to the train station we walked directly across the street to obtain a quick lunch. Service was efficient and very friendly. Our bartender was very accommodating. I thought the salads were surprisingly delicious, but it wasn't until an hour later that we both ended up being extremely sick (nausea and major stomach problems), and still are. I wrote an E-mail to corporate notifying them of the situation so that they could backtrack to see what was obviously mishandled. I never received a response, which is why I'm settling for a 1 star. I don't plan on ever eating here again. Especially knowing that we could have gotten salmonella, amongst a variety of things such as the lettuce not being properly rinsed or even a line cook not washing his/her hands after using the restroom.

I've been to a bunch of other Back Bay Restaurant Group places, including other Joe's. This one is pretty bad. We went for brunch. It took us 15 minutes to get a cup of tea. When our food came out it was super bland and frigid, one of my potatoes actually tasted like it was frozen. Our waiter was nice but, I think, oversat because he wasn't really around and our food clearly sat out forever. In addition, my medium rare filet was cooked well done. With a million restaurants around Providence Place, there is no reason to go to this one.

  • Andy H.

Screw the haters...they served me a delicious and thick medium well bacon and Swiss cheeseburger with mushrooms. I washed it down with a perfectly poured Guinness. It is what it is, a bar and grill by the Providence Place Mall. You want snooty dining then check out another place, you want a laid back decently priced lunch then come here.

Its just alright. The Cheesecake Factory next door is 3x as good, and at the same price range kicks Joe's Butt! My verdict: Food: 3 Service: 4

So twice now I've been wowed by the service and thus, must update. There is a waiter here named Kevin who does not belong here. He belongs at a far more upscale restaurant like the Capital Grill where he can make way more money...that is how sweet he is. Good on you Kevin! You've made me change my opinion about Joe's!

    (4)
  • G S.

Yes, it's a chain and in the mall, but it's still a good place for dinner. One of the things I love about it is that they have a full kitchen and are more than willing to make something you want up for you even if it's not on the menu. I ordered broccoli & ziti but when it came it didn't have the sauce I expected. I didn't want to complain (seeing as it was my fault for assuming) but the waitress and manager both came over and offered to make it into something I liked better. They brought it back less than 5 minutes later and it was delicious. They have a very friendly and quick staff. They also have a full bar with a good draft beer selection. Sometimes the wait can be pretty ridiculous because it is in the mall, and in all honesty it's not the kind of place that's worth waiting an hour for a table to eat. If you face that kind of wait, I suggest walking over to Union Station on Exchange Terrace. It's good food and service but just far enough away from the mall to not have a crazy wait time.

  • Sonia K.

It's really ok...I mean it. We went here for lunch as it was getting late and just wanted to grab a bite and sit outside. The beer came quick and the burgers were nice and juicy. It is big in space and is very convenient and was walkable from our hotel and the waterfire exhibition. It is just your average, casual dining place, no surprises here.

I don't want to say that I dislike Joe's, but I've been a few times and I've never been blown away. I've never had an experience that brings me back for a second. I've hung out with people that have brought me back for a second, but I myself have never wanted to return willingly. Everything about Joe's is just so-so. I would recommend checking out one of the other many delicious restaurants at PPM.

You can't go wrong with the bacon cheese burger here, drinks are a bit small, prices are ok. There service is nice, and food come out quick. I would recommend it to friends.

It's a causal bar so with the price point it is not surprising that the food is just average. Tastes fine but not a meal you will remember or crave. The service is fast though I wouldn't say good. Our waiter was not very helpful. One in our party had a question about a dish she was thinking about ordering and it was a pretty basic question and he seemed confused and not sure how to answer. My husband asked if he could have a veggie side instead of fries and again he seemed completely caught off guard and unable to handle the question. I ordered a dessert drink and it truly tasted nothing like the description and was quite gross and he just didn't care and didn't offer to take it off the tab even though I told him I was unhappy and didn't drink it. Perhaps he's new but if so they need better staff training. Everyone was happy with their entrees- like I said good but forgettable. My husband loved his drink- the dark and stormy- but the amount of wine given was on the small side. The hot bread was great. We had reservations and were seated quickly.

I've been to other Joe's locations before and have had great experiences, but this is by far the worst food I've had in quite some time. I ordered a cheese burger which is pretty hard to screw up, but they certainly managed to. The cheeseburger came with lettuce and tomato and I also requested a slice of red onion. When my meal came, the burger was sitting on a stale poppy seed bun (it didn't mention poppy seeds on the menu. I hate them! It was stale to boot), a limp piece of lettuce, the tomato was fine, but the onion slice was about 1/2 inch thick and looked like it was cut off an onion that had been sitting around for a couple days. It tasted awful. I would have been much better off going to McDonald's for about a tenth of the price. I sat in the back in the "VIP" section as the manager put it. It certainly was a pleasure to listen to the vulgarity of the kitchen staff. Oh yea, I felt like a total "VIP", moron. I won't be back to this location ever again. I just feel bad if people who visit this location and think this is what all Joe's are like.

tacky and average (it's in a mall HELLO!)

  • Jennifer B.

Yes, it is a chain in a mall, but wait. The bar is large and lovely and the drinks are cheap. Good luck finding a drink as cheap in a comparable place. You will also never find a more delicious spinach dip. The menu requires more vegetarian options and some dishes should go, but the margarita pizza is quite yummy. People rave about the honey mustard chicken sand, the chicken club, the seared ahi app, and the dinner salads as well (not all of which use iceburg, though I am a fan of that crispy, watery, nutritionless leaf). My hubs loves the chili, the pizza, the chicken piccata, the ribs, and the chicken club. We both love the Boston Cream Pie. Delicious. If you get dessert they use fresh whipped cream. The coffee is wretched. Avoid that at all costs. The food is better quality than you can get at many other chains like Applebees or the 99 for great prices. Also, I'm told they get their meat from the same distributor as Ten and Cav. I met my hubs there 5 years ago when we both worked behind the bar and we still go there for a friendly, inexpensive, reliable meal. And, it's always less crowded than the overrated Cheesecake Factory.

Great burgers. Our waiter "Jake" was amazing. Everything was cooked as desired. Only downside is little to much salt on fries and pricey burgers but we left full and did not at anytime feel rushed

While I love eating out at Mom and Pop Shops, sometimes I will succumb to Chain Restaurants. Recently, my fiancé and I dined at Joe's specifically because they do prepare all their foods in house. Given my food allergies, this helped tremendously. My improvised salmon (oilive oil, lemon and garlic - only) and sauteed kale with artichoke was great. The Providence Place location was able to get my meal right! My fiancé had the buffalo Mac and Cheese and gave it a 3...but we do a lot of clean cooking at home. During our visit, we were greeted by friendly hosts, an attentive waitress and an accommodating manager.

The menu selection was diverse with a number of items that were tempting. I tried the fried chicken as I had a craving at the time. Unfortuneately, the dish did not quite live up to expectations. The breading on the chicken had a great texture, but not mich flavor. The chicken itself was a bit dry - perhaps the result of eating early on a Monday and not having fresh chicken... The coleslaw was fine and the mashed potatoes with gravy were done well. The buscuit was a bit overcooked - it was quite buttery (in a good way), so I think it would have been better being cooked just a couple minutes shorter. My wife had the honey chicken salad and found it delicious with just the right amount of dressing. The restaurant was clean overall. While the greeter was not as friendly as one would expect (for a greeter), our server was friendly, prompt, and checked in with us a couple of times.

Came here on 6/3/15. It was around 3pm, and the restaurant was dead. There were few business men grabbing lunch, and a lonesome man day drinking. My friend and I were very hungry. We started with the spinach artichoke dip. It was delicious. It was a perfect mix of spinach, artichoke, and cheese. The chips weren't to salty, and the bread was great with the dip. I ordered the Chicken & Broccoli Ziti. It was a little bit above average. The pasta and sauce went well together. The chicken was dry.

Great ambiance. Pretty good food. Decent waitresses. Maitre'd was so busy having a personal conversation with someone who appeared to be a co-worker--notwithstanding that we were standing right in her face--that we thought we were supposed to seat ourselves. She eventually stopped her convo to seat us as my party and I stood nearby confusingly discussing the seating situation. Instead of asking us our preference, however, she immediately proceeded to the patio and motioned for us at a table; we preferred inside dining and let her know the same. Other than that, the food was a firm 8/10. Their crispy fried chicken was really good, and so too were their garlic mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy. Their mac, however, was runny and the shells/noodles were undercooked. For what you see on my plate, plus a glass of their Rosatello Moscato, and a third the cost of the Spinach Artichoke dip = $40. .

I've visited Joe's often when shopping at Providence Place. If I'm looking for a bargain I hit the food court but for full-service Joe's is the best option at the mall in my opinion. For a chain I've found the food to be very good. I also prefer the atmosphere at Joe's over that other chain on Stateside. Our last visit didn't disappoint. Service was prompt and courteous. We all enjoyed our meals. I've always loved the reuben and my husband enjoyed his burger. The kid's menu has a wide variety including fish and chips. The fries both sweet potato and regular were a highlight. I'll keep coming back.

I'll give it 2 stars because I've been here for dinner and it wasn't that bad. The brunch service was beyond terrible and doesn't deserve even 1 star. It was a group of like 8 of us on New Year's Day for brunch. We arrived and were seated at a comfy booth. Since the temperatures have been record-breaking cold this year in RI I was really craving a nice hot chocolate. ...before I can go on about the food, I have to talk about the server. This is so not the career for him. It was almost as if he was afraid of us. He had no idea about what was on the menu or what any of the substitute options were. He started to stutter when giving an explanation of any dish he described and walked away several times to go ask someone else... Back to my hot chocolate... It came to me in a very sad, half-empty glass mug. Usually it's all pretty with whipped cream and chocolate syrup - not that its a necessity - but it adds to the appeal. So after I take a sip and realize that it's ice cold - I'm already irritable. It's almost like that "Don't talk to me until I've had my morning coffee!" feeling - I was cold and hungry and just wanted my hot chocolate - HOT! So after I finally flagged down the server, he said he would get me a new one. One of my friends at the table asked him if they had whipped cream (because I had made a remark about it before) and he said "Actually we don't have whipped cream early in the mornings. They are actually making it out back." Wow. You guys make your own whipped cream? I'm more than shocked - I'll get into why shortly... As I watch him bring the cold chocolate to the bartender to request another one - she shoots him an annoyed look and dumps it out in a ticked off fashion. Someone doesn't want to work on New Year's Day.... On to placing the food order. This took forever.. because he jumped around the table taking orders in no particular order. He would ask questions like "What kind of bread would you like for your toast?" and then when someone asked "What kind of bread do you have?" ...he responded with - "Oh. We have a bunch." This does NOT answer the question. If you don't know what kind of toast you have, don't ask. Wait, more than that - find out! So as the other tables were all being cleared away, we were finally being served. When I started eating my food - I was very disappointed. They make their own whipped cream but they serve FROZEN home fries? Microwavable bacon? OMG is this Pearl and Ivan's local diner or a chain restaurant charging $12-$13 for this reheated culinary failure? Also... a few days later, we discovered that he had messed up the charges on the credit cards. Ugh... nightmare.

I came here a few weeks ago with coworkers. We split the spinach dip, which was very good, and then I had the grilled chicken sandwich which I can't complain about. It's hard to mess up a chicken sandwich. I returned a few nights ago after scoring 100 points by making a reservation on OpenTable (I will typically choose one place over another if I see it's on OpenTable). I had the mixed green salad with grilled chicken and a glass of cabernet.

Came here with a group of five, three of whom had serious food restrictions. Tabitha was absolutely on top of it, as was her manager who stopped by just to confirm some of the specifics. They handled our orders as though it was everyday routine and their total pleasure to accommodate our needs. I, being able to eat almost anything, happily chose their lettuce wedge and a side of mac and cheese. The latter consists of tender shell macaroni in a rich and delicious 5-cheese sauce. If you order it as a meal, they will add lobster, but not in the side dish -- and IMHO it didn't need anything extra to be delicious. The lettuce wedge was amazing - had been deconstructed to allow bits of blue cheese and dressing to be drizzled among the layers, then carefully reassembled to be garnished with chopped tomatoes, more blue cheese, and herbs. Beautiful as well as yummy. I posted a picture of the wedge to share its beauty. Highly recommended. And the peasant bread - a crusty, chewy texture with a flavor to die for. One of our party asked for their gluten free bun, which was tender and tasty, the best GF bread I've tasted (and my spouse is celiac, so I've tasted quite a few). All in all, an excellent lunch. I give this place, and its service, 5 stars.

Service was outstanding. Food was par. This place used to be better. We got the three dip appetizer, came with salsa, queso, and guacamole. It was pretty good. Rest of the food was just ok but agin the service was great.

We had a great experience at Joe's on Nov 2. The waiter was exceptional and took my friends gluten allergy VERY seriously. The manager took care to explain how they are set up with separate frying and prep for gluten free food to prevent cross contamination. She also hand delivered the special dishes to us and made sure we were well taken care of. This was hands down the best dining experience I have had. Period. That said the food was fantastic as well. Cooked to our liking and presented delightfully. Prices were a bit high, but I really didn't mind that in light of being treated so well. Other restaurants should take field trips to this place. They could learn quite a bit.

From the warm greeting to the attentive service and delicious food Joe's delivered. I started with quite possibly the best house salad (with bacon and cheese) ever and then had the chicken picatta. The servings were perfect and not so much the it would serve a small army. William, my wonderfully friendly server kept my drink filled and was very knowledgeable about the menu. I fell in love with the Charles River Pie. I'm visiting Providence for a few days and I'll definitely make my way back to Joe's!

Took about 20 mins to be seated and it was NOT due to the place being extremely busy. Took very long to get our drinks in fact the only thing that prevented me from leaving was the bowl of clam chowder that arrived- very good. Overall good food, poor service

I really like going to Joes for a slightly more upscale dining experience or for a beer at the bar after work. Reasonable prices for the quality of food you get and the service here is usually pretty good.

This review is about a year late, but Joe's is still leaving a bad taste in my mouth. I dined at Joe's for a friends birthday dinner last summer and I did not have a great experience. We were seated quickly due to having a reservation, however they sat our large party right outside of the busy and loud kitchen. That was a minor annoyance, but not one that would normally take away from our meal. Once seated we waited and waited for our order to be taken, then once taken we waited and waited again for our food to be served. Once the food did arrive it was average at best. I had the fish tacos, the portion was small and the taco shell itself was somewhere between soggy and stale and all together just not satisfying. The one highlight were the drinks, I had a blueberry lemonade which was very good. The prices at Joe's are far over what I would want to pay for the quality of food you get, they sadly live up to the chain restaurant curse. To make matters worse, when we paid the bill they charged the incorrect amounts to the incorrect credit cards even after we had asked them to split the bill previously. It added more time to our already very long dinner and kept our group from moving to our next stop to celebrate. I would not plan another dinner at Joe's American Bar & Grill, it is lack luster and not worth the time of the price.

I know Joe's is a chain. I know there's no promise of food from Joe's being local or even particularly interesting but I enjoy eating there all the same. Every time I've been to the Providence Place Mall to hang out with friends before a movie, Joe's is the most logical place to meet for a good meal at a reasonable price. Cheesecake Factory has crazy lines, UNOs is nothing worth going out of your way for unless you feel like a deep dish pie. Ruth Chris will break your bank if you just want a casual meal. Everywhere else worth eating at on the cheap is far away enough to not be worth the walk in the cold winter months. The biggest selling point I can give for Joe's is that I have never (even during Waterfire rush) had to wait for a table longer than 10 minutes. Their space is enormous and they have a big enough staff to handle a large crowd. Joe's has lots of beer options and a nice full bar. I could eat their clam chowder or soup in a bread bowl once a day for the rest of the winter and not get sick of it- it's a perfectly hearty, warming dish for the cold weather. The atmosphere is nice, the interior is cozy (even with the giant chandeliers) and the staff if pretty good. We've only gotten one space cadet server and it was on the Saturday after Thanksgiving so that was to be expected. I'll be back to Joe's whenever I need a decent meal in the mall and I don't want to spend too much, wait to long, or go too far and I know I will leave happy.

Visited Providence for a professional conference at the Rhode Island Convention Center. Went to Joe's the first night and enjoyed it so much I went back the last night I was in town. Clam chowder in a bread bowl was delicious, as was the pan-roasted chicken on top of mashed potatoes. Shimp linguini also very good. Great desserts too. Since I dined alone, I sat in the bar area and had excellent food and good service both visits. I was so full the first night I could barely walk back to the hotel. For this reason I skipped dessert on my second visit.

It's decent but overpriced due to locations, go down the street five minutes and get the same quality for much cheaper.

We made a reservation weeks in advance because it was a big college graduation weekend and they didn't have a table for us so we ended up sitting outside on the patio. The waitress spilled a tray of waters on two of my family members and when she came out with a tray of bar drinks she spilled Sangria down the side of my purse! She was apologetic but I've come to expect a higher level of customer service from Joe's. The Joe's in Boston would have offered a free appetizer or at least comp'ed the tray of drinks she spilled. I was disappointed. There was no bread brought to the table after our drinks came out and we received the check immediately after our meals leaving us no option to order dessert for our special occasion. The waitress was clearly flustered on such a busy night but I really would have expected a better recovery from the rough start... Stinks we couldn't give our graduate a nice dinner out.

We have eaten here many times before and usually enjoyed it. The service has been slipping a lot the last few times, which prompted me to write this review. First, we used to have this really nice bread that came out ahead of the meal. This has been replaced with really poor taste / quality bread that wasn't worth the carbohydrates to eat. Secondly,. There was a table next to us of three women and their children. These kids were running ( and I do mean literally running and bumping into other tables and patrons) all over the place. They were loud and obnoxious and ccompletely out of control. These women seemed more concerned with their conversation than the fact that their children were terrorizing the other patrons. While I do understand that there is likely limited actions the restaurant can take, I still feel something should have been said. When we are paying $30 a plate for dinner , this isn't Chuckie Cheese. Third, most important the service was really bad. They weren't even that busy either so I don't understand it. Our biggest complaint was no spoons for our ice cream / dessert. Another note was that our dinner plates weren't even cleared. We had to find space on the table to fit dessert and then eat it. With our forks. I tried to flag down our waitress but she was no where to be found. When I did bring it to her attention one would have thought she would have taken the cost of the dessert off the bill but she barely acknowledged the mistake. Fourth - my salad was covered in Olives. If I liked olives, that would have been great, but it should have been noted in the menu that there was olives. I had to pick them out which was an unexpected treat. Overall, normally we liked this place for the nice bread (gone) atmosphere (gone) and service (gone) So we will be dining elsewhere in the future.

I should have noticed by how empty the restaurant was on a Saturday night and eaten at taco bell honestly. It's Applebees quality food. No actually it's worse than Applebees. It is about the quality of taco bell. But has capital grille pricing. We first walked in and almost had to seat ourselves and the wait staff was not friendly at all.. Spend the same money and go somewhere worth it.

I came here for lunch with my boyfriend over the weekend. We were satisfied, but our experience was nothing mind blowing. We sat at the bar, and ordered drinks to start- I had wine and he a beer. We ordered spinach and artichoke dip, which was good- I liked that it was large chunks of artichoke in it! I then had a garden salad with a crab cake on top, and he had a pork sandwich with fries. The fries were hand cut and excellent! My salad was standard, and the crab cake was a nice addition. The service from Kim, the bartender, was great! She was outgoing, friendly, and looked as though she was keeping busy, despite having a near-empty bartop. Overall, I would come back here if I was in the area. The food was good, just nothing spectacular or unique. There was a nice patio that I think I would enjoy sitting on, so maybe next time I'm in town I will do just that.

I am not sure what kind of restaurant this is but they obviously hire drug addicts. My server was awful. He was dripping with sweat and his eyes were very shifty. I ordered the chicken piccatta and a side salad while my husband ordered the meatloaf entree with a cup of chowder. We never got our soup or salad and we couldn't find our server to tell him. When our food was delivered we told that server but we didnt even want them at that point. I just wanted to make sure we weren't charged for them. Our server never came to check how everything was. The food that we got was very good. We then had to call another server over to get our server. He didnt even say anything to us he just brought us the check. I believe his name was Andre or Andrew. I'm not sure if I would ever return to Joe's in Providence.

Typical chain restaurant with decidedly average food. My boss insisted we go here when he and I were in town last. He's not too picky, to say the least, and he just wanted some grub. I think he liked the look of the sign, which made his decision for him (and caused me some consternation in regards to his decision making ability when we're working together). I didn't have a bad meal here, I didn't have a great meal here. What stood out the most was our server. He was...how do I put this delicately...a man whore. As my boss and I were trying chatting about dinner choices with our server, he pointed out the--in his opinion--hot girls in the bar and dining area. And his taste wasn't all that good. This experience was off putting at best, but we didn't think much of it and moved on. Would I go back? Probably. The food wasn't half bad and the wait for a table (even during a busy event weekend) wasn't inordinate. I'd avoid that server like the plague if I could, though.

I've eaten at Joe's before, and the food was fine, nothing remotely exciting. But I'm here to warn people about their "preferred seating." A few weeks ago, we were looking for a place to eat before the Elton John concert at the Dunkin Donuts Center. We were surprised to find when searching OpenTable the night before that there were no reservations to be found; was the Elton John show really filling every table in downtown Providence? Fortunately, when we called Joe's, they said they could put us on their preferred seating list; then when we arrived we would be put at the top of the list, and seated "in a moment." (That's an important quote.) Well, the next day as we ventured downtown, we realized the reason no one had seats was that it was a WaterFire night. (In November??) So when we got to Joe's, it was packed, and after checking in, they told us the wait would be 30-45 minutes, assuring us this was great news because the wait for everyone else was over an hour. That's not the point; 30-45 minutes is not "in a moment," and if we'd known the promise on the phone was a lie, we would have eaten on College Hill before going to the concert. My experience is that restaurants give underestimated wait times if they desperately need the business. I guess being surrounded by better known chain restaurants forces Joe's to either provide better food than them, or deceive their customers, and they've chosen the latter. I won't be back. (Dave & Buster's, much to our surprise, was able to seat us almost immediately, allowing us to finish our dinner in time for the concert. Kudos to them!)

We went here in December. We were staying at the Marriott and had great intentions of walking to a downtown bar, but our frozen extremities made Joe's American Bar and Grill look appealing, so we opted for a dinner here. The restaurant is very nice and we enjoyed sitting at the bar. Decent-sized TVs and the bartender was attentive and nice. Tap beer selection was pretty standard and had standard prices. Nothing really exciting, but not limited to Coors and Bud Light either. The food was just acceptable. I had a Reuben that was delicious but the fries were clearly frozen and not cooked very well. The hubby had an open roast beef sandwich that had a lot of flavor but was cooked just a little too long. Again, the fries were sub-par. I wouldn't be opposed to eating here again and trying something else, but I think Providence has much more to offer.

This is not my first time at this mall chain restaurant. My friends and I needed a place to eat near FireWalk and all the other restaurants we tried to find on the event map were either closed or hard to find. This was not our first choice place to eat and I feel justified due to: inattentive hostesss, abensentee waitress, and a steak that was served burned with disgusting 'au jus'. I've had better food at awedding factory. One of my friends got the wrong drink and half his dinner order was wrong. Our waitress (when she was around) made it right for him. I didn't bother with my steak because we didn't want to miss any more of the Firewalk. The GM was visible but it took him and ne if the hostesses d45 minutes to think to adjust a 5 top to a 3 to accommodate us. I literally stared at that empty table from the moment we entered and got our unbeknowst to me, brroken buzzer- no wonder the 3 parties behind us got seated before us. They also continuously whined to the hostess about being hungry but isn't that why we all showed up at dinner time? Next time I'll keep walking or eat before in another part of town before heading to Firewalk.

It is loud. It is in a mall. There are typically lots of families with small children around. Get the chowder in a bread bowl and a glass (or a couple) of wine and you will forget all of that. 'Nuff said.

The two things that I could never complain about when it comes to this place is the friendly and courteous service, along with the warm bread that arrives shortly after you sit down. Other than that, my experience's really have been rather lackluster. I learned early on, not to order burgers here. My most recent experience has enticed me to finally publish my sentiments. I ordered a very low key meal: a house salad, glass of cab and the "Not So Simple Grilled Cheese" with a side of sweet potato fries. For such a simple, usually satisfying sandwich, this grilled cheese was not good. It arrived cold, on really greasy soggy bread, and with bacon that had to be pre-fried way earlier. On top of that, the fries were also limply soggy, COLD and not appetizing. I guess on the upside, I saved on a calorie intensive meal by not eating any of it. My plus one ordered the ribs. They were overcooked, and slathered in an average bbq sauce. Again, not impressive. I was really disappointed this last time - and unless I get conned by a group of unflinching friends before a movie someday, I doubt I'll be back.

Its name says it all, it is your classic American Bar & Grill. They have a mixture of apps, salads, sandwiches, and meals along with a solid beer and mixed drink selection. The décor inside is very elegant and makes you feel like you are in an older building. I got a burger and it was pretty good and the dark and stormy was one of the best I ever had. It is a little pricey for essentially pub grub but I still enjoyed it. I will be back for the Dark and Stormy at least!

I went here about a month ago for a quick bite before I went out in the city that night. I loved the atmosphere. Very classy looking, or faux classy, anyways. Regardless it looked nice. Good decor and ambience. Service not so great. We stood at the door waiting for a host for a few minutes, which drives me insane. It's not that I'm impatient. It's just that you stand there looking like an idiot who doesn't know where to go and then all the surrounding tables are staring at you, like you're gonna rob the place and you're just like "uhhh, is this where I go?" So a server ends up coming over asking if we are all set, and obviously we are not, so she grabs some menus and then starts walking us to a table and then a hostess comes up and grabs the menus from her and we go somewhere else and it was just awkward. Anyways, so our server wasn't any better. A young man in his late 20's I guess. He talked us like "bros." I hate that. Opens with "we gettin beers or what?" Ew. Done with you already. The food was okay. Not amazing, just okay. Then we were kind of in a rush so we got our cards out to pay and stacked up the plates (I work in a restuarant, just trying to help out) and it took him forever to come back and he's just all like "oh, guess you're leaving then" and takes the cards and it took him another 20 minutes to bring over the credit card slip! WTF. I'm not going to write this place off. I just hope if I go again it goes a little smoother.

JOES AMERICAN DREAM Joes is a restaurant firmly planted between being something from a time where technology wasn't a reason for choosing a place to eat and being a place that like many restaurants today, uses technology to better your experience and ease of dining. I have only been to Joes once but my first impression was one of surprise from how great my server was. He was polite, attentive, and at times I felt like he didn't have any other table but ours. He brought our drink refills without asking, was spot on with his knowledge of the menu, and not once did he even make a mistake. The food was just as delicious. I got the french dip sandwich and it was one of the best I have had. The nachos were fresh and were a perfect portion for the price. The only downside is there prices. They aren't outrageous considering the quality and portion sizes but still more expensive than either cheesecake factory or unos which are right next door. PROS: great food, service, atmosphere, and quality CONS: somewhat pricey

I visited this place for the first time tonight and it was awful. Maybe tonight was a fluke I don't know, but I don't think I'd try it again. I ordered a Cobb salad with salmon instead of chicken and no bacon (trying to go healthier) but on top of my nice healthy salad was a piece of greasy fried salmon! I ALWAYS order salmon when I eat out, it's my fave, and I've never had it fried before. The menu did say pan seared but it didn't look it, that looked like a greasy mess. I took one bite and decided to stick with the salad part. My mom ordered the salmon plate with 2 sides and hers was cooked the same way. She also wasn't happy and her plate was $20 and her sangria that had barely any alcohol was $10! Overpriced!

Terrible service with average Joe food. Server was very unfriendly. Asked him to give us a minute for the menu. After 15 minutes we had to ask the hostess to get him. After that we saw him twice. Once when he brought the food and the other when we flagged him down for the check.

Pro: - Great spot to grab dinner before seeing a movie -- it is removed from the food court, which I prefer. - Small outdoor patio for when weather is nice -- also makes for good people watching. - The turkey burger is DELISH. Great flavor and isn't as heavy as eating a beef burger. - For what it is, there's a decent wine selection. - Menu is really varied -- so you are totally bound to find something to suit your fancy. Admittedly, I go for the burgers -- I've had all the burger options on the menu, sub a turkey birger for the beef. The buffalo chix pizza is also good. Con: - When the dining room is full, it is LOUD in there. On our most recent visit, the waiter was having a real hard time hearing us if we weren't shouting our orders. It is not a spot I would seek out if I weren't already at the mall or going to the mall for something. But I am happy when I do eat there. Providence has too many wonderful non-chain options to dine here without being at the mall.

Met up with a friend here for a night of conversation and catching up. A good location for this on a weekday night, the restaurant is relatively quiet and we were seated immediately. The meal started out well, the waiter approached the table immediately, we got drink orders in, and appetizers ordered. The spinach dip was very good. Served with pita chips, tortilla chips, carrot sticks, and celery, this makes for a delicious start to any meal. The bread they bring to the table had a hard crust and is difficult to break apart without spewing crumbs across the whole table. I ordered the "Joe's Macaroni and Cheese". . . huge mistake. It had no flavor whatsoever. I barely got through half of it before I gave up trying to make it taste like something with the salt and pepper. Not even the bread crumbs on top made a difference. The price for this bland dish ($11.99) was definitely not worth it. There are plenty of other dishes here worth ordering, even ones that are totally up to par with their cost, just stay away from this choice.

I went into joes today on my lunch break. It was snowing out and the place was empty but we were greeted with a friendly smile by the hostess who promptly sat us in a cozy booth. We had an awesome waiter named Jeff who took great care of us. I had a French dip sandwich with provolone cheese, mushrooms, and onions. Most phenomenal sandwich I've ever had. Would recommend to anyone I know!

WORST service EVER! My first time visiting Rhode Island and it was late so I decided to order a pick up from this place. They told me that it will take 25 mins but I ended up waiting even longer for it. Went inside to let the RUDE bartender know that we are here for the pick up and he doesn't even know when the food will be done. Anyways, came back 15 minutes later waiting outside where the bartender or the waitresses can see us. Waited about 10 more minutes and decided to go inside and see what's going on. The food had already been done and they didn't bother to tell us. Husband kinda let the bartender know that the service was bad and all the RUDE bartender said was "so do you want your food or not!" WORST experience with the services in that area. Food was decent but will not recommend this place to people unless you want to be treated with no respect! I wouldn't give this place a star if I can!

I came here for lunch and The foods okay. I have to say some of the best nachos I've ever had in a restaurant. But they were largely overshadowed by the service. I've never had worse service at a restaurant than here. If your looking for a place to grab a quick bite to eat then definitely don't come here. It took 1 HOUR. For out food. Absolutely ridiculous I will never come back

Joe's is a pretty casual American-style dining that you can go and dine in- I personally think their chicken/shrimp primavera is their best menu although they do a lot of grilled dishes- The primavera tastes bit like a blend between American and Asian- Anyhow, when you go to eat at Joe's you should also request for their bread before the actual meal because their bread is pretty good!

  • Samantha S.

I still wish I could give an extra half a star. I literally cannot say enough about the waitstaff at Joe's American. My husband and I took the now-2 year old here for her birthday and, despite several could-be-dealbreaker issues with our meals, we both walked out talking about how great a night it was. The food seemed a little better this time around. My steak, nearly always cooked wrong, came out perfect and the chili they're working in for the fall is also quite good (and not 5 alarm, for those who don't want the heat). The kitchen cut my daughter's hot dog up so it was ready to eat as soon as it arrived. I had the chocolate flourless torte and it was AMAZING. I'm iffy on them, usually, because if they're done wrong, they're absolutely horrid, but I'm very glad I took a gamble. My only quibble is that I ended up having to share it. We ended up becoming one of Those Tables, where there's always something wrong The manager was fantastic, offering to change my husband's order, looking over a price discrepancy, and singing happy birthday to the kid in between. I'm hard pressed to think of a place I've had better service, including much more expensive restaurants. Also, the bread is still really delicious.

Where do I start? We made reservations of 8 for 6:00pm and showed up 10 minutes early. We were told we had the next table. We watched the next three tables be filled with walk in customers... After almost 40 minutes we approached the hostess who had to refer me to someone else who told me they forgot about us. We had already bought tickets to a 7:15 show. We were finally seated at a table that had been empty for 15 minutes. Then they put sour cream on nachos my friend asked to have none. Took 10 minutes to get another order while the rest of us ate our food . They forgot my other friend's sweet potato fries. They didn't give him his side of Blue Cheese which took 15 minutes to get. They NEVER brought him his second beer. We asked but never received bread for the table. The crown jewel of this terrible evening was when my I bit into my buffalo chicken pizza to find a hard piece of plastic embedded inside. Luckily I didn't cut my mouth. For this evening of constant errors and frustration the pizza was removed from the bill and we got the rest at half price. It was by far, all together the worst restaurant experience of my life. The food was decent and the server was very nice despite the constant mistakes. I would not go to this restaurant again. There are plenty of great options at the Providence Place mall, competition is plentiful, why would I ever go here again? It was a zero star evening. We also missed the movie we already paid for. The next showing didn't start for another three hours.

Went on a Monday night after work to meet friends. Took a long time to get drinks and the place was not crowded. Ordered a tuna burger which I was very excited about. You don't usually see a tuna burger on a menu. I was disappointed. The waitress made it sound great. Comes with arugula and cucumber sauce. It had a sesame crust which is fine if you were having it on a salad. The crust plus the bun made it too dry. The burger itself was over cooked and dry. My sweet potato fries that came with it were cold. Waitress was very nice and good. Drinks were good although slow to get. Probably will not be back.

My first visit to Joe's was with a huge party, which seems to be one of their strong suits. There were other huge parties and all kinds of chaos, but they got us seated and served without so much as a rolled eye or a gasp of panic. The wait staff were stellar, upbeat, and accommodating (my tablemates in particular were... discriminating, not to say "difficult!") My steak was delicious, done just the way I wanted it, and all of the accompanying dishes fantastic. And at least as a Bostonian, I found it very reasonably priced. The bartenders are quick, courteous, and generous, and I just like the look of the place as well. The music is loud enough to keep the mood light but not loud enough to be obtrusive, and they're not fazed by special orders or unusual requests. But I have to keep coming back to the people, how helpful, respectful, and adaptable they are. Definitely consider Joe's for any sort of reunion, reception, or celebration in Providence, so long as you don't need a quiet or intimate atmosphere. And try the buttermilk sirloin - they do it right!

We walked in at 6:35 pm last night, told our server we were trying to make it to the Syracuse-Providence College basketball game by 7 and we were out of there by 6:55! Unbelievable service (I believe our server was Corey M). He entertained us, brought us our drinks within 5 minutes of sitting down, and rang us up on separate checks while we ate. The Back Bay sangria was delicious, the bacon cheeseburger was decent, overall a pleasant experience! After being told by the hostess at Uno that we were looking at an hour or more for dinner, it was great to be in and out of Joe's in 20 min! I'll keep this in mind the next time I'm down in Providence.

Yeah, not my favorite place. I feel like they take advantage of their location in the mall. If they were elsewhere, you'd never hear their name mentioned. Basically, what you're going to get is small-portioned, over-priced food. It's alright, but you're done in a few bites. The bright spot was our waitress, who had a great personality! Avoid Joe's, there are so many more gems in Providence!

We stopped here while visiting the Providence Place area, around 1:30, for lunch. I'd been here before but it had been over a year. Seated right away at a nice table outside. Then the wheels came off... Waited forever for our food, a salad, a kids pizza, and crab cakes. Saw others get seated after us and served before us. Spoke to the server that I wouldn't blame her for the kitchen delays. She got the floor manager involved. The manager started delivering food. The pizza wasn't hot when we finally got it. So I was never able to tell if we had a bad server or the kitchen staff was to blame, but I won't go back. Walk across the street and down to the river and there are many other food choices. Skip this one.

Food, drinks, prices were all ok. I had a chicken and spring greens salad that was fine, though the chicken was a bit too cold. The wine list isn't extensive, but I found a nice Malbec by the glass so I was content. Calamari appetizer was just average, nothing unique. So why four stars for Joe's? Two reasons that are big in my book. First, in addition to all of the coffee drinks offered on their dessert menu, the offer about half a dozen hot cocoa drinks. As a non-coffee drinker, I really appreciate that and had the Milky Way. I think it had baileys and vanilla vodka in it (yes, I have a wicked sweet tooth). Great on a cold night. The other reason for four stars is simple: the service was outstanding. From the host to the waiter - everyone we dealt with was great.

Joe's is a chain that we will go to occassionally when looking for a quick bite in the Providence Place Mall. On our most recent trip we had a fabulous server (Connor or Colin (sorry)), he was very friendly and walked us through specials that would be on the new menu. He knowledgeable, courteous and attentive but not in our faces which is how we like it. We love the hot bread! We had the buffalo tenders to start and they were delicious. Our meals were average, nothing exceptional but safe dishes. A place we enjoy going for a quick, standard bite to eat with exceptional service.

My husband and I actually really like Joe's A LOT!! I am surprised to note I haven't Yelp'd about them before. We go there every time we are at PP Mall. Which is not all that often, being true RI'ers, it's kind of "fah" from Warwick! We've been there 4 or 5 times. We go mainly for the burgers and fries which are always cooked perfectly and on almost every occasion the fries were above and beyond excellent (the most recent time we went, I didn't feel they were as good as on previous occasions). The service has always been everything anyone could possibly ask for - efficient, prompt, friendly, polite, as good as it gets. My only not fabulous experience was the ONE time I had something other than burgers and fries there. I always wanted to taste Lobster Mac & Cheese. I have subsequently learned not to order this dish anywhere. I like my mac & cheese baked and really gooey. If one adds lobster to mac & cheese, it can't be baked, because the lobster will dry out. So at Joe's, like everywhere else (I think) - the lobster mac & cheese is cooked on top of the stove, with a creamy cheese sauce, and most likely the lobster thrown in at the last minute - so as not to dry it out. I wasn't happy with the dish - it certainly wasn't BAD. (How can a dish including mac & cheese AND lobster be bad?) It was just not what I was expecting. I have learned now not to order this dish. So, bottom line, I am taking off one star because one of the 4 or 5 times I dined there, I didn't enjoy my meal terribly much. And because our last time there I wasn't sure if the fries were up to their normal delicious home made standard. Oh - and BTW - their desserts are delicious!! I recommend the apple crisp - but everything on the menu sounds wonderful.

Although the food was only ok......Our server Joel made up for it. That guy is hilarious. They should hire more servers like that I had a good time. Il be asking for him again. I had some chic Amie with a guy hair cut last time and she acted like I was annoying her when I asked for a straw. She probably just doesnt like guys i guess....

Overall, our dine in at Joe's was a good one. There was some negative things that came up, but for the majority it was all positives. Under is a list of all the positive aspects of the dine in and the negative aspects of the dine in. Positives: -Server was polite -Server had proper knowledge of the menu and specials -Presented all mise en place -Welcoming environment -Clean cut Negatives: -Dangerous plate stacking -Server drank in view of customers -Bussers didn't seem to have much confidence.

Nothing to get excited about with this place. My wife and I came here last night with a group of friends before heading over to PPAC for a show. They were able to accommodate our group (14) so that was a plus. Our waiter was friendly and on top of everything, which was a definite plus considering the size of our group. The food on the other hand did not justify the prices IMO. I ordered the blackened chicken pasta. Very bland and could hardly taste the parmesan sauce that was on it. My wife had a similar pasta dish and she had the same complaint. I was actually going to order the Joe's mac and cheese but our waiter advised that it wasn't that good. I appreciated his honesty but the dish I ordered really didn't live up to his billing of it "is really good." Not blaming him though. He is the waiter, not the cook. I always thought this place was over rated based on the prices on their menu and the quality (or lack of) the food. Now I will say I have been here twice and neither time did I order a burger. From what I hear the burgers here are pretty good so if I come back perhaps I'll give a burger a try. My review would've been 3 stars, but quite frankly the quality of my dinner just did not warrant the 3 stars. But they did give us our own room for our group, our waiter was friendly and attentive so basically what we have here is below average food and good wait staff experience. Menu is a little pricey depending on what you order. with so many other options to dine at in the mall, Joe's is on the bottom of my list.

After 2 pervious tries eating here (both that were such service nightmares that I did not even eat), we tried again. 14 dollars for a turkey burger that was literally 3 inches across a 6 inch roll, over cooked and just such a rip off. Please. I don't get how this place stays in business. I am so missing something.

I've got to say, I like Joe's. It's a crowd pleaser! Want a menu with a lot of choices? Got that. Want flexibility on your order? Got it. They will prepare, exchange, withhold or combine just about anything you would prefer. Big drink selection? Yes of course! Decent food? Check. Service? Very helpful and friendly. Pretty quick too. Large serving sizes. No waiting for a table. Check Check Check. All of this with extremely reasonable prices. If you're with a picky eater, or if you're with a big group that wants a wide variety, Joe's is a great choice. Outdoor seating in the warmer months is pretty nice too!

It was the summer of 2001. I went in with my girl friend to sit down and have a nice meal. What she ordered escapes me, but I remember ordering a cheeseburger and getting our appetizers with our meal within in ten minutes of ordering. Fast food is barely any faster, and we were out soon after. I was young and I remember feeling pretty annoyed that I had just dropped roughly 40 dollars in 20 minutes. I have never been there since! Food B -- I cant remember it being bad, Ambiance B -- we sat at a two person table which I hate. Service F-- Appetizers with meal both within minutes.
