Great deli. Anthony's makes awesome subs/"Sangwhiches", they have an amazing Italian sub called the Godfather. All the subs at Anthony's are delicious, especially the Chicken Italiano and the Lights Out for those who are fans of a spicy sub. On top of the sangwhiches they also have prepared foods that are very good as well as homemade sausages and a fully stocked boars head deli meats counter. This is the perfect place to go when you want a good satisfying filling sub for not that bad of a price. Most of the subs are in the 6.75$ range I believe. Definitely worth a try if your around admiral street and the PC area.

I practically lived off this place - and the same one or two items off the menu - my senior year at PC when I was living literally right around the corner off River. I only wish I had found it during my first three years. You can't go wrong with the Godfather. Maybe it's a little on the pricey side but the general consensus that I hear is that the sandwiches are big enough to be worth it. My sub and a drink from the cooler usually cost eight something and it was enough to hold me for the afternoon. Definitely not a sit-down kind of place, but go order a sandwich and enjoy the (somewhat stereotypical) Italian ambiance, which of course is only encouraged by the gangster references and over the top accents in the menu. Also pick up some homemade creations or deli meat for the road.

Pretty good sandwiches. In my four years at PC, never went here, but stopped in this past weekend for lunch. I was satisfied but not blown away. It's a tad expensive.

Hearty and delicious sandwiches. My favorite is the half baked. It's honey baked ham and turkey, colby jack cheese, bacon, hot pepper relish, mayo, bbq sauce, lettuce, and tomato heated up and toasty! Most sandwiches are about $7, which is good considering all they put on them and they use Boar's Head meats. If you are in the Elmhurst/PC area, hit it up!

I've been going here for years!! Amazing sandwiches, the menu is extensive and impressive with the variety they have to choose from. The godfather and the chicken Italiano is amazing! The bread, especially the bread and quality meats make these sandwiches stand out !!! When your thinking of subway, seriously reconsider and go here and try these sandwiches. The service is great, always seeing college kids in the joint, however the owner Anthony always greats you with a huge welcome! Love supporting mom and pop family owned business!

Yo best place for sandwiches, another words Lasalle is fake and overpriced, friendly atmosphere here and best staff out of any delis I have been to in ri, the pizano sandwich is not to be messed with, and neither is the BBQ chicken. The restroom has a fancy-ass toilet paper holder to accommodate the guests and sometimes I feel like a roman emperor when I use it. Ask about the "crunchy carmine" you will not be disappointed

The sandwiches are a little on the expensive side, but very delicious! The menu is mouthwatering; it was very difficult to decide what to order. We opted for an Italian roast beef "sangwich" consisting of roast beef, bacon, mozzarella, and mayo on a toasted roll. The sandwich was extremely flavorful. Can you really go wrong with bacon? However, I expected more meat on it for the price ($6.95). That said, the Boar's Head by-the-pound prices seem to be slightly cheaper than Stop and Shop.

OMG. Phenominal... The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is it's closed on Sunday. Great sandwiches, bread is amazing, everything is super fresh, love it!!!!

A bit expensive for what you get. My sandwich was tiny but delicious. It was also hot as hell in there. I think they're too cheap to put the AC on.

Superior sandwiches made with great selections of fresh ingredients. Their French fries are out of this world!! I go here pretty often and the people are always so nice and welcoming. They also have a large menu for their dinner options such as chicken parm, veal parm etc etc. I have not yet had their dinner platters but will be sure to try them once I can muster up the courage to NOT order a delicious sub!!! 5star

This review will need to be edited once I try a couple of other sandwiches. This place is right near my work and it's the first time I have tried the place in 7 years. Ordered the Godfather, an Italian sub. Quality meats and pretty good bread. The service was very inviting and prompt. I have had better Italian subs but it was pretty good and makes me want to try other sandwiches. If your looking for a good sub at a decent price with friendly service this place is pretty decent. Review update coming after my next order. Thanks

Hands down favorite sandwich shop I've ever been to. It helps to call in your order for pickup because it can be slow. Classic godfather is my go To. They also serve great breakfast sandwiches, but as of June 2015 they don't have avocado!

Was craving an Italian sub, so I checked this place out with a couple of my friends. I ordered a godfather, while my friends all got something different. While It did take the food awhile to come, when It did we were pleasantly surprised. The guy who brought our food to us was incredibly nice and hilarious. He made the wait worth it on its own. But now to the food. I got the godfather, which was very good. I asked for it with without a few things, but got them anyways. Other than that the sub was perfect. It was only about 9 dollars for the sub and a drink, pretty good deal. Will definitely be back!

What can I say that hasn't been said already. I stumbled into this place while looking for an apartment nearby and well...it rocked my socks off. Just a simple chicken cutlet sammich with mayo, lettuce, banana peppers and red onion. Chatted up with the owner and dropped down on the veal, peas & mushrooms for mom. Apparently it's an old family recipe passed down a few generations and my mom, being a 100% Napolitano knows her peas and veal. with a quick trip to LaSalle Bakery to grab some crusty bread, she was in heaven. And to quote: "the flavor was great!" They have my business any day of the week.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
