The French fried potatoes here are the best I've encountered: nicely browned but not overly so, crisp, soft and mealy inside and with genuine potato flavour, not just grease. Beef sandwiches are rare and the grilled buns a delight. I had the fried clam strips too and found them very tasty although like most Rho Dylanduhs I do prefer bellies. This Walt's is the best of the best. Clean, fast service, superb noshing, decent pricing. So what's not to like? BTW Damien, I've had them with the barbecue sauce but that beef is so flavourful I just do prefer not to cover it up. A bit of salt and pepper is more than enough to gratify me.

We haven't eaten here in years, and were excited to stop in for a bite after leaving the Harley dealership. The place smells funny, not in a good way, kinda sour. With happy memories we ordered anyway, and our food did not take long to be ready. The large fry, which was almost $3, would be more like a small at most places, and was mostly stubby little pieces of French fry as opposed to actual French fries. My roast beef had very little flavor at all, and needed bbq sauce just to taste like something, my husband's however just tasted "off". His appeared to be a mix of nice rare roast beef and some gray roast beef of indeterminate age that he believed to be the source of the off flavor. My daughter had the Turkey deluxe, Which was fine, but needless to say we will not be back. Next time we will go to Miller's.

I have to drive by Walt's everyday on my way to 95 and finally on a ride back home, I stopped by since I was jonesin' for a hearty roast beef sandwich. Well, after my first visit - Walt's is definitely an above average roast beef place. I like that this location was big, the staff was nice and got my order out fast. I ended up going with a 'Yukon', which is a 1/4 pound of roast beef, tomato, lettuce and BBQ sauce. Really solid, definitely a few steps above Arby's. Fries were standard. Definitely worth a visit and a better choice than some other fast food options on Newport Ave.

I ordered the Yukon roast beef. The roast beef is tender and moist. The fries are just right. There are plenty of sizes of roast beef sandwiches to order from the menu, from 1.5 oz all the way up to 8 oz. A good place for a lunch stop while on the run.

Good quick cheap eats. Sandwich's are tasty, fries are good, and the restaurant is clean. The people working there are very friendly and on the ball. It's definitely a better option than most fast food joints.

You will be thrown out of the state if you do not try one of their roast beef sandwiches! Paper thin beef stacked on a buttered roll. (hard to write this without drooling). It's the only thing I've had here, but I find it impossible to order anything else.

Definitely should be categorized as a To-Go style restaurant. This place literally stinks like something foul. Like the neglected reptile house at a town zoo, on a 100 degree day. The building was literally sweating with condensation that was begging to be released from the bowels in which it was trapped. I can not stress this enough. We should have taken this as a warning as we approached the building. The finger drawn names of those who had been engulfed into the buildings fury, were barley legible against the haze that was left on the glass. Regardless, we approached and entered... The staff seemed lively which was the exact opposite of the patrons who seemed lifeless and hunger-less, drugged in there chairs, occasionally lifting their heads as if to form some sort of acknowledgment to their surrounding environment. There was muffled music playing, can't recall the components of the playlist as i was in such a daze from the smell, but it was at least it was enough for the older gentleman in the orthopedic shoes next to me to tap his foot and convulse his head to the delayed metronome of the Walt's stylized beat. Sadly you may be forced to use cash if you this is your first time visiting, and are not yet an experienced Waltzer. They do not accept cards of any form, and that is not likely to change. They have been burned by quickly outdated technology before, and they will not let it happen again. Thankfully they have a handy on site ATM, which charges you a withdrawal fee that is about the same cost as your meal. Food was great, though I'm sure it would have been better if eaten on the go, even in a convertible on the highway doing 80mph, with loose sandwich meat giving you trouble from the drivers seat, i would image would be more enjoyable than an additional 5-10 indoors.

This place crushes Arby's. The roast beef is wonderfully salty. The bun is buttered and toasted. Pure heaven.

I can't believe I've lived in RI for over three years and have just gotten around to trying Walt's famous roast beef sandwiches. When my bf suggested we stopped here for a quick bite while out running errands I was a little bit skeptical, but I left pleasantly surprised. Sure, we were the youngest people in the joint, but it was kind of fun. I had the traditional roast beef sandwich with lettuce and tomato and it was tasty! The buttery grilled bun is a nice touch and the roast beef was warm and juicy. Next time I think I'd get a side of horseradish sauce for my sandwich to go give it a little zing. The walls have photographs of Slater Park and other RI landmarks. It's a no-frills kind of place, but service was friendly and efficient, and our lunch came out right around $10 (for two). I'll definitely be back!

Two days of exploring Rte 1A in Pawtucket. One constant defined. No edible item in this town is over $6. Walt's is no exception. Matter of fact, a King Walt Combo (4oz roast beef sammy, small fry, med drink) came to $6.01. Ballsy move Walt. Low tech, lightning fast food that brings the locals stampedin' for lunch. The meat is moo moo rare and comes stacked on a buttered&grilled sesame roll. Slather a little BBQ on top and they'll write the Dear John letters to Arby's and Kelly's for you while you finish. For the sanguine-free flesh aficionados, check the roast turkey sandwich or the twice-weekly fish fry (Wednesday/Friday). The only plastic accepted is an empty tray, so bring cash. Punks.

I hadn't been to a Walt's Roast Beef in years so we decided to stop by their location in Pawtucket. We could not have been more happy, friendly and quick service with hot tasty roast beef sandwiches! The roast beef was sliced thin, fresh lettuce & tomato, on a hot buttered bun! Highly recommend.

Who here enjoys a sewage smell when they eat? Not me that is for sure. The food is ok but nothing to write home about. Unless you like dry meat you will need the sauce which is the only thing that is halfway decent. Service is hit or miss. Better roast beef and better fries await you at Millers if you crave it in the Pawtucket area.

Excellent Roast Beef and pretty good fish and chips. The servie and friendl and fast. The prices are not bad, I would give it 4 stars but normally I don't higher than 3 for fast food joints, sorry.

Walts Deluxe with Lettuce, Tomato, & Mayo + cheese = incredible deliciousness. I also love the hot, crunchy fries with their barbecue sauce........I think I am going to go now and get a deluxe.
