"Want to like it" I read some rave reviews about this place and I couldn't be more disappointed. I should have known when several reviewers are writing AMAZING when describing chicken parm. No offense, but the word amazing and chicken parm should not be in the same sentence. Let's go through this. Ordered the mushroom app which is pretty pricey at 12.99 and it was very sub par with burnt garlic favor. We also ordered the aronchini which had no flavor. Finally my wife and I ordered the founder franchais to split. It tasted like pancake batter around flounder. After I picked the batter off of fish, the fish itself was nice and fresh. The only 2 bright spots for this place were the sangria, one of the best I have ever had and the service was also very good. Overall, I think this is your classic Rhode Island American Italian restaurant that has reviewers that suffer from the Rhode Island Syndrome of people that have eaten the same 5 meals their whole lives and think spaghetti and meatballs is a gourmet meal. 2 apps, 1 entree, a sangria and 2 beers total with tax and tip, $75.00. For a few bucks more I could have ordered the same meal at Sienna and it would have been a hell of a lot better than this. Don't waste the money. Thanks

Homemade pasta!!! Woo hoo! Not too expensive... Great flavors and just good foods done right ! Thanks for a great time! Service was excellent from our left handed waitress!

Don't be fooled by the strip mall location on Hartford Avenue in Johnson. I went to Pat's for the first time last Friday night and was extremely pleased with everything we ordered: A perfect martini before dinner, the evening's special of lightly breaded chicken layered with prosciutto and fontina cheese with a mushroom white wine sauce, and the dessert, a tangy limoncello cake. Shelley, our server, was also very knowledgeable, warm and friendly, which added to the overall pleasant dining experience. The portions are extremely generous and the prices are reasonable for what you get. The one thing I wasn't so crazy about was the homemade red tomato sauce, while it is fresh and loaded with basil, it was too sweet tasting for me. The homemade pasta, which came with the meal for an extra charge, was very good. I definitely will be back!

I ate here for the first time last night. The food was amazing! Best restaurant lasagna I have ever had. I will definitely be back.

Im done going to Federal Hill. Pat's Italian Restaurant has the best Italian food in the state, hands down. Never thought about going out to eat and ordering pasta, but think again. It's awesome.

I have eaten at Pat's twice now. Exact same experience both times. The food is absolutely top notch but the service has been extremely slow. Both times the place was rocking but there is no excuse to watch your beer go warm sitting on the bar while waiting for your server to go get it. Mind you the service people are not bad, they are very pleasant and personable, but everything seems to be running in slow motion and feels like they are understaffed. When the food does finally hit the table all can be forgiven because the meal is out of this world and huge portions. Maybe next time I will do takeout.

PHENOMENAL. I highly recommend the veal Parm or chicken parm. The pasta is great, particularly the bowties. The marinara sauce is the delicious and the pink vodka sauce is even better. The chicken soup is also delicious and you get a choice of soup/salad with most entrees. Only complaint is the desserts. Go with the frozen Bindi ones if you feel the need for it. You will most likely be too full!

Best red sauce I've ever had in my life! It's officially the sauce that I compare every other sauce to. I usually do take out so I can pig out in the comfort of my own home. An order of pasta can be split between 2-4. I suggest the homemade radiatore or gnocchi with red or pink vodka sauce.

Recently had Lunch at Pat's. Their Marinara is unbelievable and made my Chicken Parm sandwich to die for. The chicken was perfectly cooked and lightly breaded. The price was great, I think $8 with a salad. They also had some other lunch specials that looked great and were priced similarly.

This is one of those hole in the wall, strip mall places you usually wouldn't even bother checking out unless someone tipped you off. Consider yourself tipped. Pat's basically does old school Italian cooking like your grandmother used to. Lots of pasta dishes (and yes, home made pasta), stuffed peppers, rabes, soups... all the basics/classics. The food's good, the prices are fair - ok at lunch, a little high at dinner. Cool local place.

Went there again twice more since last review. The staff is so friendly and welcoming which above all means the most to me. They are so welcoming to my little guy! I love it. I have since tried all different entrees, both there homemade pastas ... Omg worth the visit alone! And the sauce is homemade, I tried the tomato basil but personally love the pink sauce! My favorite food that I look forward to is there house salad with their homemade creamy Parmesan dressing. I could bottle that and drink it LOL it's so good!! This is my new favorite Italian restaurant for dinner. Very casual.

A personal favorite.. The veal and homemade pappardelle is to die for! Great for large groups/family outings or just a simple date night.

Pats is my go to Italian spot. Never had a bad meal here, and that includes takeout. Chicken parm is the best and the fresh pasta is to die for! My only wish is that they'd put the pasta carbonara back on the menu, but at least it makes my decision easier. Stay away from Federal Hill and head to Johnston for the best Italian food in Rhode Island, you wont be disappointed!

Ahhhh Pat's, how you fill my belly so good! So good, I had to write another review! Last night was no exception. They had a prix fixe menu for $22.95. For that price, I got a crab cake app, the Chicken Sorrento and a cookie square dessert. The crab cake was delicious - fried well and came with a yummy in my tummy remoulade sauce. My gfs got the stuffed little necks which were equally tasty! My Chicken Sorrento (chicken parm with eggplant on top) was to die for. I got the entire dish in the spicy pink sauce. Portion was enormous - enough for me to eat, share some with my gf AND have enough for lunch! The only thing I was confused about were the upcharges. I know they charge extra for homemade pasta (which is a must) but they charged extra for the spicy pink sauce. Guess I'll know for next time and it really doesn't matter - it was worth it! Our usual bartender wasn't there but Nicole was very nice and personable. Checked in on us a few times and made sure our meal was enjoyable and it was!

Pat's is the place to go when you needs carbs and comfort food combined. Nothing on the menu is especially fancy or innovative, but the dishes are well done and the portions are huge. I love their arancini. I could seriously eat a dozen of them, and their gnocchi combined with alfredo sauce is pure decadence. I do prefer the soup over the salad with your entree because sometimes the salad is freezing cold - like it's been pre-plated and kept in a fridge, but that's just a minor quibble. Don't get put off by the fact that the majority of the customers seem to be in the 60+ age bracket, just get a table and order some food. You won't be disappointed.

I was excited to try the new version of Pat's Italian, but man it was a major let down! I have an open table reservation, but still waited over 30 minutes to be seated. This is understandable on crazy nights, but when you stare at other open tables, it's very frustrating. We were there over 2 hours. The food was par at best. Everything tastes the same. The service wasn't good. Maybe it was a bad visit, but I won't be going back to try again.

I enjoyed this place a lot! Wish I can give it 4.5/5. Service: friendly and knowledge staff who are professional. Food: large portions. Delicious flavor, well balanced. Tastes fresh and tasty. Price: $15-20 for entrees but it's well worth it with portion and quality. Most entrees come with salad or soup. Complimentary bread wit butter. Was asked if we wanted more which was nice. Environment: large restaurant to accommodate many occasions. Nice bar area, a great family/date area with fire place and booths, and another area with larger parties. Most dining were parties or 3-5 people. Someone was there for birthday dinner. Only thing that was a downer was water. I'm not particular about water, but they tasted like a chlorine chemicaled ammonia taste. This would have made the different in 5 stars of perfection. Time: got seated right away with no wait. Order was taken and food was served fairly quickly within 20 minutes. Getting the check and processing the payment took slightly longer which is rare because most restaurants process the payment quicker.

I'm awarding them four stars because they redeemed themselves as the evening progressed. Arrival: no stars. Had a reservation for 7:00 pm. Waited 15 minutes to be seated. Not the end of the world but I make reservations for a reason Seated in a booth: negative stars - waited 23 minutes (yes, I timed it) for a server. Got ready to get up and complain or at least inquire what was up, then miraculously here she comes. Server: Nicole was lovely but it still took another 13 minutes (yeah I timed it again) for drinks. Finally drinks came and then the evening took a turn for the better!! Had antipasto board - very good. Not Federal Hill but good. My companions had two veal dishes. They were pleased as the veal was very tender. I ordered the prosciutto di Parma pizza with fig jam. I always want to order this (rather common in many menus) but many places ruin this by piling on arugula I want a pizza not a salad. Pats delivered - tasty crust, tender prosciutto, sweet fig jam finished with tasty cheese which did not overwhelm. This is where I give 4 stars. Had it not been a rocky start. It would be 5 stars

I was very surprised. I've lived close to here and never really cared to try it, but wow! So good. possibly the best chicken parm I've had in such a long time! I like that it comes with a soup or salad before, mostly because I love food, but I feel its a nice touch. The bar is very nice and much more modern and chic than I anticipated from driving by. The restaurant is much bigger also and service was great. I have nothing bad to say about my experience and the portions are HUGE!

    (5)
  • Scott V.

I am a big fan a chicken parmesan and what is even better is chicken sorrento. Which is children parm with eggplant and ricotta topped with mozzarella and sauce. This was one of the best I have had. Sat at the bar, the bartender was nice, she could of used some help. My wife had chicken marsala. She liked it but thought it should have had more of a marsala flavor. Prices are average. Definitely going back.

Homemade pasta was out of this world...for $1.50 extra it is well worth it. In fact, they should just increase their prices and only serve the homemade version. Service was a little slow at the hostess stand, but our waiter, Jared, more than made up for it. He was great and very patient with our questions. He was also super accomodating to our 14 month old dining with us. Food was SO good and such huge portions. Highly recommend the pescatore with tomato basil sauce! You won't be dissapointed.

Nicole our server today was super, on the ball, professional, quick, sharp. She knew her wines. Suggestive sold good items. The ancini app is amazing, done so nicely. Brian the manager is doing a nice job overall. He keeps a good eye on the dining room. The food was amazing, I love this place and I don't say this lightly at all. It's hard to run a good and consistent restaurant with good service and good food and they WIN this big. 5 stars.

The homemade pasta is delicious! Joanne was a perfectly personable server. I would highly recommend Pat's Italian Restaurant to anyone who is looking for good, fresh, Italian food.

AMAZING! Now, I have your attention. I am a transplant from the south and while we do have some good Italian places in Houston, Austin and Atlanta, there is nothing quite like New England. I am even going to say that New York is more style and promotion than substance compared to some places in RI. Pats is one of those places. So this place is in a strip mall next to another Italian bar and grill, so you can miss it. Trust me I have probably driven by this place once or twice a week for some time now and did not notice. All of that is to say, it is in a strip center, but do not let that fool you. When you walk through the door you will be transported away. So first things first, the staff is amazing. We were greeted by a lady with open arms, a warm smile and a personality that reminds me of the 'crazy' aunt that you love to have come and visit. Crazy is meant in the most loving way. She wanted to know if this was our first visit, she chatted up our youngest. She makes you feel like you belong right here, right now and they are super happy to have you. So let me now gush about the food. First, I have had veal parm all over, to include Italy. Short of being on that side of the world again you are not, and I mean this with utmost sincerity, going to find better. The veal was cooked perfect. Their homemade tomato basil sauce was good enough to eat on it's own. Along with that, I has a house made pasta with their house made 'olio' Not sure if that is correct. Olive oil, olives, garlic and herbs. What ever, it was worth of a dish unto itself. Lobster Ravioli was, well, simply about as good as you are going to find anywhere. They were large and stuffed full of fresh lobster and covered with homemade vodka sauce. That too was almost good enough to stick a straw in. Drinks, well I am not a sangria drinker but my wife and daughter inform me that for the price you are not going to find a better Black Berry or Tropical Fruit version. So we had app, three salads, a side pasta, a pitcher of Sangria, a beer, a stand alone sangria, and three main courses and the bill was toughly $110.00 and worth ever penny. And I do not want to leave out the wait staff. This crew was crazy good, to include the buss person. I know most to pay attention to them but this guy was working without a tub. He just quietly moved around the rooms and would swoop in and clear dishes as they emptied. I did not even realize he was the buss person until my daughter pointed it out. The waitress was also very, very good. So I am sold. I am not sure I can ever eat anywhere else and be as pleased.

The reviews here are very misleading. We went here for one of my friend's birthday. There were 5 of us. First off, don't ask for anything you see on yelp because they no longer have it. The food taste very bland and the pasta was over cooked. No one was satisfied with their food. It was definitely not fresh. The service was also pretty bad. The hostess was also our waitress and she had no personality whatsoever. The restaurant looks outdated and the lighting is poor. I would never eat here again.

i am not an employee of Trattoria, i work at Milford Hospital and for you being the owner to come back with a comment like that is absolutely absurd. that is the best you can do. Actually your wife and the servers know that I had a problem with the food...ask Jarod about it, he was our server and I told your wife on the way out and yes now I will review Trattori, thanks for letting me know!

The true sign of a great Italian restaurant is the gravy and at Pat's the gravy is the BEST part of the whole experience. You can literally make a meal out of the Italian bread and gravy, but don't stop there, take my word for it and try the calamari and/or stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer, the chicken or veal sorrento which is layered with ricotta cheese, eggplant, fresh mozzarella and more gravy and it comes with a heaping portion of pasta also covered in more gravy. Treat yourself to one of the homemade pastas while your at it. I would be remiss in not mentioning that the portions are obscene and you can count on taking home plenty of food for the lunch the next day. Wine selections are complimentary. Try the Sangiovese. Buono Appetito

My family has been coming here for years, and it is delicious! You get the choice of soup or salad with your entree (I like getting their chicken soup) and some of their pasta is homemade (SO GOOD!). The last time I went I got the bracciole with homemade pappardelle. Outstanding!

What a hidden gem. I've had Pat's on my to do list for years, and it certainly lived up to its reputation. To start, we ordered the crab cake appetizer. It's breaded crunchy outer layer was flavorful and highlighting the crab meat center, made with bell peppers and cream cheese. I had the Gamberoni Scampi with homemade parpadelle pasta. The shrimp was perfect, and the parpadelle pasta was the best. Definitely going back more often.

What a find! For a casual evening accompanied by great food, run to Pat's. We were fortunate to dine here on a Tuesday evening when this restaurant offered a two for forty dollar special. Each twosome could choose an appetizer to share, a salad and an entree for each person, and a dessert to share. Along with this, one was given a choice of an alcoholic beverage of sangria, wine, etc. Not one of us in our party of four was disappointed with any of our chosen food or beverage selections. Great evening. We cannot wait to return. Perhaps we will try another night when there are different specials/packages to enjoy.

My wife and I love this place! The food is so good and since I'm fat, they give you a lot of food, I leave felling stuffed which is unusual, lol. I've had the lasagna twice and it is a good portion size with meat and cheese.

One of my favorite places to eat. The sauce is sweet which I love and the homemade pasta is awesome! Chicken parm is the best I have had. We have been many times and have always had great service.

Last night we walked in at 5:30 and were immediately seated. The specials menu offered "lobster fra diavolo" with scallops, shrimp, lobster over fresh parpardelle pasta. Though I typically would not order this dish with any seafood other than lobster the server said it was excellent. She was right on point with this superbly prepared version of "lob-frad". The portion was perfect , the seafood was very fresh and the parpardelle was aldente. If your not familiar with Pat's, you must know that the house marinara is consistently excellent. I usually order chicken parm with a side of pasta (so I can ask for extre sauce) . My dinner companion enjoyed the"Santa Lucia" seafood pasta over parpardelle which was equally satisfying. Prompt friendly service, great food, comfortable atmosphere make Pat's a twice a month stop for us. Put Pat's on your list for restaurants to try next.

One of my favorite places to eat out. The food is always fresh and delicious and their sauces are to die for. Extremely busy around the holidays but other than that you virtually never have to wait for a table. The service is quick and friendly and the atmosphere is casual and comfortable. Important to note their chicken parm has set a standard so high that no other restaurant's has come close.

We try this place again this week same thing we ordered our salads and dinner and as we get near the end of our salad the food is put right on our table. The food outstanding the service not that good they must get their servers from the fast food industry.I go to a lot of restaurants and this is the only one that rushes you.So this is exactly what you need to do there order your appetizer don't let your server know what you want to eat until your done this way you can digest your food relax and have a nice time. This place gives you plenty to eat their not cheap food great the owner needs to have a long talk with his employees to slow it down.

I went to Pat's with my girlfriend on both my uncle's and parent's urging and it was excellent. Unfortunately we did not try an appetizer but they did look good as they went by heading to other tables. I ordered the pasta with sausage, chicken and mushrooms and I would give it a 4 of 5 star review, it was very good but didn't blow my sox off. My girlfriend had the veal parm on my parents suggestion and it was excellent 5 out of 5 stars with great flavor, fresh ingredients and a huge portion. The only cons i see with Pat's is it's location and decor but to me that does not matter.

This review is long overdue as Pat's has become my go-to Italian food fix. There is no denying that Providence has a treasure trove of excellent Italian Cuccina's, and I enjoy many of them. But Pat's, well Pat's has that little extra something that makes every meal heavenly. I'm talking GOOD REAL FOOD. This family run place pride's itself on serving family farmed, antibiotic free, hormone free, certified humane and free range produce. This should be your first indicator that something good is in store for you. Next, the homemade pasta (parpadelle fan here) and sauces - I can't say enough good things about these. The pink sauce must be laced with something addictive, I have yet to order a meal that does not in some way involve it. Their regular house red sauce - bliss as well. I try to have something new each time, and have not had anything disappoint yet. The Bolognese is to die for, the standard Chicken parm: amazing. For something a little more involved, try the Pollo preferito Christine: All Natural breaded chicken cutlet, stuffed with spinach and cheese, topped with fresh mozzarella and prosciutto di parma; then finished with a mushroom Marsala sauce. MmmmMmmm. And last time, I tried the Agnellotti: Homemade pasta filled with spinach, ricotta, mascarpone and Parmigiano Reggiano cheeses. Choice of sauces: tomato-basil, pink, or alfredo (ahem go with the PINK!!). It was, of coarse, AMAZING. Great house wines, and reasonable prices, delicious desserts - and great daily specials. For example their 2 for $40 special is along the lines of: 1 glass of house wine or beer each, 1 appetizer to split, 2 select entrees (includes a soup or salad) and 2 desserts. Good quick service, and a no frills atmosphere. Honestly, it is worth the 10 minute drive from downtown any day.

Love the food here. Our family has had 2 receptions here and the staff went above and beyond to make it special and made the day stress free. We get take out all the time and it is always ready when they say it will be.

Mama Mia, I've had better... This is your classic, old school Italian place - this is not Siena, La Masseria, or any of the other finer Italian options available in the state. First reaction - yipes. Strip shopping center, cold tile floor, outdated colors. Yes, a place like Pinelli's is in a strip center, but it gives off a much different vibe. This place just feels old. Needs a serious refresh. The food was very hit or miss - for appetizers, the Clams Zuppa was tasty, as was the sausage bruschetta, but the antipasto was sad (a few pieces of soppressata, prosciutto and American provolone, all on a massive bed of lettuce). Entrees were slightly better, with the veal & chicken marsala both getting good reviews. The homemade pasta with pink sauce was also tender and delicious. The house salad dressing is also pretty tasty (some sort of parmesan ranch). Service was extremely spotty for our party of 9 - my silverware was taken after each course, yet I had to ask each time to get a new set. And a number of items appeared on our bill that either we did not order or had sent back - I hate having to read my bill with a fine tooth comb, but I'd recommend it here. Overall, ho hum. I won't be heading back to Johnston anytime soon to eat at Pat's, as there are better, comparably priced and more inviting options, elsewhere.

Some really great Italian food and the homemade pasta is great! Only problem Is that we have been a bunch of times and the service and hostess can be really bad and even mean/rude.

IF YOU LIKE ITALIAN THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! The veal parm is out of this world! The size of the meal is HEARTY. Don't miss out on the homemade pasta that melts in your mouth! Espresso Martini's are EXCELLENT. One of my favorite restaurants! Don't go to Fed Hill... this is the hidden gem of them all!

One of my favorites. Homemade pasta is the best- pay the extra 1.00 its worth it. Sometimes the host is not the best at managing the tables but the food more than makes up for him. Don't let the stink from the landfill scare you away it does not get in the building. Chicken Sorento is highly recommended.

  • Greg S.

The veal alone warrants five stars, I would give them six if I could for the sauce which is incredible. Homemade pasta is worth the small fee. The service has been good for the most part. The portions are huge too, you will have enough left for a second meal.

Well, they must have changed managers/owners... the food is far from authentic. I dealt with mediocre appetizers and plain-jane salad, but the brassiole was bland and tasteless. But what happened after that soured me completely. I told my waitress, who was very nice by the way - as was all the female staff - that I was not happy with the veal because it had no flavor. Could she just replace it with meatballs, please? Would I like it taken off the bill, she asked, no, I'll try the meatballs. She said she had to send the manager (owner) over, so he came over, I repeated myself. He gave me a foul look and snatched the plate off of the table. It was so upsetting to be treated so rudely that I told the waitress to just take it off the bill after all. Then someone came by to say my meatballs would be out soon. I had to repeat myself. I am an assertive person, but this was embarrassing me to the point of queasiness - would the owner return to say more to me? EEUUKK. They took it off the bill. We would never go back. My husband has a long, grey ponytail and a very fancy mustache - we were dressed in RI casual - nobody ever guesses that he is a well-respected orthopaedic surgeon. I wonder if we would have been treated better? If so, more reason to never return. Go to Angelo's on the hill - they still have their souls (and a very good sauce!)

came here for take out on a very lazy sunday afternoon. I ordered a veal parm with pasta to split with my grandma. the pasta, while very tasty, certainly did not seem to be home-made. it was good, and the sauce was flavorful, if not a tad greasy. but the veal parm was rather poor - way too much breading and not nearly enough meat, seemed to be cooked in a microwave - not crispy at all. I had the pasta leftover cold for a midnight snack and then again for breakfast (old school italians, you know how we do!) and it was fine, so perhaps I would just get a pasta dish next time. given the lack of options in the area, Im sure I will end up trying this place again. but my first impression left me disappointed.

I can't believe i'm the first to review this place. They make their own pasta here people and it's incredible. Have you ever had long ziti? Well, not like this you haven't. So. Damn. Good. They also make their own red sauce. The owner apparently ships in tomatoes directly from Italy. I've never had a marinara quite as sweet as Pat's. The chicken parmesan with this red sauce and long ziti is just delicious heaven. I've also had the bolognese sauce. Incredible. My friend finagled the bolognese sauce on the long ziti one night and it was so good i almost flipped the table right over. And for those of you who like chicken soup, it's almost unfair how good it is. I'll tell you how good. Let's say it's summer; 102 degrees outside and muggy as all sin...you'll still order the chicken soup. It's that serious. It's cheap, good service every time, and you can take in all the local charm (sorry...chahm) of Johnston. This place is a gem. Thank you, Pat!

Well... Saturday night I took my brother to pats Italian for his birthday dinner. I tried making reservations mid week but they don't take reservations for under a 6 person party. They suggested we show up before 545 or after 8 pm.. Well, we did show up at 615 against their recommendation, 1 hour wait for a table.. We were lucky enough to get two bar seats which has a full menu... Now, here is where I get major confused.. The bar area has about 7 tables around the bar, but you cant order food at them, only the right at the bar, which seats about 12 people.. So, huh?? Anyway.. Sit at the bar, got drinks after waiting about 10 minutes..we were starving, told bartender we know what we want and we can order, says he'll be right back.. Well, 20 minutes later we were still waiting.. Finally put our apps in and those came quite fast.. Calamari was slightly undercooked and thus a bit chewy.. We also got crab cakes which are filled with fake crab but they were cooked perfectly and delicious. Brother got a standard garden salad which was clearly fresh and he loved it. I got chicken caserol soup which was hot and delectable, only problem was took about 25 minutes between apps and our soup and salad to get to us. Now... No joke.. 1 hour 15 minutes later we got our veal parm.. Three parties that sat 40 minutes after us got their meals first! Bartender told us he had NO idea why they got theirs first... Now, we both ordered fresh homemade pasta, which does add additional time, but 1 hour and 15 minutes? Huh?? I can say the veal parm rivals anything I've had in federal hill area or even the north end of Boston. Pasta was beyond delicious, veal cooked perfectly.. It was really fantastic Italian cuisine .. Problem is.. Wait time.. Beyond crazy.. Food is not good enough to wait that long.. I scored it a 3 out of 5.. Which I think is accurate but you can fry 3 out of 5 at many Italian eateries and be in and out within 90 minutes.. Pats.. Good food, little over hyped on reviews here in my opinion.. But, if you have 3 hours to kill I'd recommend it...

Pat's Italian is the absolute best restaurant ever! Great food! Great service! Great atmosphere! They have the best red sauce I have ever tasted! You must try the chicken sorrento, veal Christine, chicken David, or fra diavolo as entrees! Delish! For an appetizer try the arrancini. Amazing! Snail salad is great too! I have never had anything bad here! Go on a Saturday night and you get some delicious homemade bread! The waitstaff is so nice and personable, especially Joann and Mark! Keep up the great work! Don't forget to try the amazing desserts too!

some of the best italian food I have had in Rhode Island. I got the fettucini alfredo (it was my first time there so I was being conservative) however my boyfriend got some type of chicken entree and it was delicious! I will definitely go back there and I think if you haven't tried it yet, to check it out!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
