Excellent food (they will cook do your liking), The food is always fresh and everyone is very friendly. This restaurant is not a franchise so they take pride in making sure everyone is satisfied. It is also a nice atmosphere-everyone is so friendly you feel like you are at home. Davensports is spotless, sunny and ample room to accommodate banquets. I would highly highly recommend this restaurant. Very impressive.

My husband and I went for dinner. When the waitress came over and took our order and then ask if we wanted rolls, we said yes and then she left. She came back with my husband seafood chowder but no rolls. The chowder was so thick you could have eaten it with a fork and no seafood in it only the fake crab meat. She brought the rolls with the dinner. The fries were greasy and the tarter sauce tasted sour. Will we go back. I do not think so. Not happy with our dinner or service.

Great food!! I got the burger and my mom got the lobster roll. She had the tail and claws in the lobster roll and she was really happy. My burger was delicious. My sangria was watered down so I didn't really like it but my mom enjoyed her Manhattan. We sat in the lounge area so we could play keno. Good times at davenports

Tastes like chain restaurant food. Lacks any sort of creativity. When you walk in, you get a whiff of crappy food. Their menu says their pizza is "award winning." The person giving out the award must not have any taste buds. I typically don't like to eat at places where there are pictures on the menu. This confirms my theory...

The Husband and I ordered take out and was pleasantly surprised that we both really enjoyed our meal. We both ordered ribs and fries (Saturday special) very tender and meaty. The sauce was very tasty. I would recommend asking for extra sauce though. I wasn't to happy with the side of fries they gave us though. The container literally had 15 fries in it at the end of it all, we will order food from here again, but most likely will just eat in!

Bought three grilled chicken salads - $36.00. It was a waste. The salad mix was a bagged salad from the grocery store....a few grape tomatoes and cold chicken. They should be ashamed to put such low quality food out. I have eaten there many times in the past but apparently the food has gone downhill. Psy attention to your business Mr. Davenport you are losing customers.

Ate christmas eve the portions were skimpy, the service short of getting things yourself, with all economic situations going on I guess you can't expect much, this will definitely be a choice to take a party of 6 never mind party of 2. Family was very disappointed.

My go-to bar, I suppose, since I live right down the street. The food is pretty good - much better than Chelos and Greggs - two similar style restaurants. The seasonal and nightly specials are worth a try - sometimes they have some great dishes. Some of my favorites include the pizzas, flatbreads, the grass-fed burgers, and the boneless buffalo wings. The seafood chowder is also great - be sure to try some! The happy hour bar menu is the best deal in town. And the bar staff is friendly and fast.

I've been to this location several times I've had: Salmon salad - AWESOME Fish & Chips - AWESOME Prime Rib - AWESOME The service is always so good here as well. Love how the MOA comes around to check on you during your meal. Try them out

Lunch with my Mom at her favorite restaurant - Davenport's in East Providence. She had baked fish and we even requested go light on the salt. Good job! I had a turkey, cranberry sandwich on a croissant. YUMMY. Service was good and prices are reasonable, Even on a raining day, it made for a comforting atmosphere.

We went there yesterday at 11:30 am and were seated at the table as soon as we walked in. We then sat there for 10 mins and a waitperson did not show up. So I called the restaurant and told them "hi we are in the dining room and would like it very much if you could send over a waitperson, its easy to find us as we are the only ones in the dining room, thanks". She said no problem. A minute went by and then the woman who seated us popped her head around the corner and shouted across the room "someone will be right there". Well two more minutes went by and still not a sole around. We got up and went to Gregg's across the street. Where the service was so good I gave the waiter a 25% tip.

Davenport's has a great gluten free menu with many options to choose from. The staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating.

Visited this wonderful Resturant on the 30th of December and everything from service to the quality of the food was top notch. I'm a bit surprised as I read the previous reviews, maybe they had an off night but I only give 5 stars to a restuarant that provides excellent service and product. And davenports delivered with a bang. For starters the Resturant was slammed when we got there at 7:30 my girl friend and I usually sit at the bar and order food from there so since we were meeting with her aunts it went straight to the bar. Bill the bartender was awesome he immediately made eye contact and asked for our drinks. After a good 15 minutes the bar started clearing up so we finally got a place to sit. Looked at the menu and was told that the apps are 1/2 off. So knowing me I'm a wing connoisseur went ahead and ordered the sweet teriyaki. My girl friend ordered the roast beef stack. The waitress brought some delicious bread rolls and butter and within 15 our food arrived. Just by looking at my order I was able to tell that my wings were a lot bigger than normal and I dare to say thee biggest size I have yet to have. The teriyaki glaze is just right not to sweet and the crispiness is right on point, not too too crispy and not to soggy. When you bite into one you get big chunks and to top things off the ends fall right off. They are so well cooked, yum I had to order another 10 piece at half off you can't beat it. So my girlfriends roast beef stack was also yummy and packed with meat, I want to take another bite it was that good. One of the aunts ordered a pizza with mushrooms and she offered me a bit. The pizza was soooooo good, very tasty reminded me of kussifays mushroom pizza. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. Last but not least the owner stopped by making sure if everything was going good, usually that's a managers duty but for the owner to walk around and make sure our food and service is handled well says a lot about this place. I also played keno for the first time and won $29 my first time! I will definitely revisit this marvelous Resturant and hopefully win in keno!!!! Oh by the way if it's your first time playing, play three numbers and stick to them!

Grabbed lunch at the bar, service was friendly and quick. They serve rolls at are still warm and the food was excellent. We all got club sandwiches and curly fries. The fries were seasoned and fried perfectly! Huge sandwiches, got the willow tree chicken salad which had bacon, excellent!! Vast menu and some great specials. I can easily compare this place to a greggs restaurant, same type menu and decor.

A slight step above Friday, Chili's, and Applebee's. Staff is not the most welcoming. The nearby Gregg's would be a better option for lunch and/or dinner.

One of the best lunches ever! Grilled Lite Chicken Dinner served with rice pilaf and spinach. Josh my server couldn't have been more professional.

Late this afternoon, Thanksgiving Eve, probably isn't the best time to go to a restaurant, but it was a convenient spot and seems to be pretty consistent most of the time. The bartender was filling in for a shortage in staff and I wondered if that was the same for the kitchen staff. We ordered the nachos, but they were not quite as good as the last time I had them. The chili was runny and it seemed to lack chips. Maybe the amounts and recipes have changed since the last time? If it was any other day, I would have gone for one of the too perfect and massive cakes in the dessert cases! Some day I am just going to have cake and Guinness! All the stars go to the bartender for being attentive and filling in, as she said - she was hired as a waitperson. We will go back - no reason not to! We all have less than fab days, and who can't use a happy face serving you a beer?

It isn't quite five star cuisine, but it is five star service. We were a very large party and Autumn took good care of us. Her service was attentive, friendly and able. The menu had some good choices, although not as many options as similar type restaurants. The food is very good though. Everyone was happy and the portions were large. Their drinks are fantastic as well. If they expand their menu to allow more to choose from, it would be five star.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!! That was the worst salad I've ever had. the worst part they charged me $11. I asked for a buffalo chx salad and i got gold grillwn chicken with a brush of buffalo sauce. Piezonies is 100% better At least they use fresh lettuce as opposed to that bagged stuff. What a ripoff.

Save your money and head over to Gregg's across the street. Food is ok at Davenports. Definitely over priced for the portion. Owner is a complete jerk and treats his employees like slaves. Will not eat here again.

I saw a rat in the bathroom. The wall was peeling and the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the 90's. The food tasted nasty too. Don't go here. Greggs across the street is much better.

Clean, Good food. Good service. Customers at 3PM are mostly the very elderly. I think we were the youngest people there by thirty years or so. Food while good is just not better than good. Needs more seasoning I believe.

Had a couple of drinks and ceasar salad and shared a godfather pizza (one of my favs as a long time customer) with my husband. Excellent pizza! Left after the dbag bartender asked my husband to cash out before he took his break. He then for a second time asked if I wanted another before he cashed us out although I still had wine in my glass. We are now spending our money at the E. P. Yactch club where I hope its appreciated!

Recently went here and the service was excellent! But that's really all I can rave about. The hostess who showed us our tables , was so kind and made a little chit chat before seating us. Our regular waiter was a trainee so we expected some mishaps, which there was only one. Out with the girls for lunch and everyone wanted at least something to eat. Drinks and food came quick. The pizza I usually loved came to me full of grease and as soon as I picked up a slice , everything just fell right off it. My friends super nachos was pretty good and very filling! Had a lot of leftovers with that one. My other friend had seafood chowder, which she reported was good as well. My last friend only wanted some curly fries with ranch. So she gets the curly fries and not the ranch. By the time the waiter is back with ranch she has finished her fries and he still leaves the bowl of ranch on the table. My pizza I have to say was very unappetizing. Full of grease. So much I could pour into a cup. I picked up a slice , and literally everything slid off it. Cheese, sauce and pepperoni. Usually I like the pizza , but this time I have to say it was a terrible meal. All in all, the food could have been better in some aspects , the waiter in training was much friendlier and helpful than the actual waiter himself.

The service was great with trish as my server. The food was also very good. This place I will definitely suggest to my friends. And tell them to ask for trish. And I suggest the fishermen platter.

I had a beer at the bar while my friend desperately tried top find some milk right before a storm. Needless to say she was unsuccessful and joined me shortly thereafter. Nothing special, typical bar in a restaurant but it looked like there was a relatively fair amount of younger regulars. Can't speak for the food but the bartender was really nice.

I ordered takeout the other night, spending $15 on a blue cheese burger, sweet potato fries, and a side salad: Black & Blue Burger - cooked perfectly (medium rare) but they forgot to add the bacon (ahh!) and there were only a couple of blue cheese crumbles on it (ahh!) Sweet Potato Fries - half the number you normally get when you eat in (ahh!) Salad - nice and fresh although the croutons were oddly soggy (ahh!) I sent an email to the contact listed on the website to let them know that I didn't spend $15 for an incomplete burger and a meager amount of fries. I use Sunday to eat whatever I want as I'm a healthy eater during the week, so the lack of bacon and fries really made me sad. The burger was really delicious though so I'll give them three stars for this experience.

Nice people, decent food - comparable to Greggs Chelos which we normally go to regularly. We wanted to try something different and this was our first visit. Waitress was very sweet and felt like a family dining experience for a larger size restaurant.

Holy salt content, Batman! Came with family on a moderately slow day on Sunday. I had the seafood chowder which is, apparently award-winning. Waaaaaay too milky with not enough taste (past salt) for me. Also got the blackened salmon salad that was on special. Salmon was cooked nicely, but they also felt the need to add two slices of pizza to the top of the salad (?!?). Service was a bit on the slow side, but we got taken care of. Waitress was a bit too sassy. We're very easy going customers, and I'm totally down for joking around with the server, but it became far too familiar, way too caustic, too soon.

The atmosphere is loud but family friendly. The tables are a bit on top of each other, which means you can hear all your neighbors' conversations. I ordered the fish n chips, and was not very impressed. I've definitely had better. The fish was kind of small and very bland. Even the tarter sauce was bland. The saving dish of the day was their seafood chowder, which was yummy. If I come back, it will be for the soup only.

This is your typical All-American sit-down restaurant. What distinguishes this place from most others is their hearty and well-cooked meals. As it is usually a family affair for me on these visits, I can say, the staff have an immense patience for the older folk's jokes, stories, and quips that are thrown around here with ease and frequency. Don't know how he does it, but my dad somehow conjures up a joke regarding the 'Specials for the Night' from the time he walks from the board listing them to our booth. . . never fail. This past visit, I shared a Meat Trio Pizza with my brother. . . a melt-in-your-mouth combination of Italian ham, sausage, pepperoni, and blended cheeses. Plenty for two people. . . My parents on the other hand got Turkey Dinners complete with a stack of sliced turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, and cranberry sauce. These are the kind of meals that make you warm inside, before fullness sets in. Plenty of weekly specials including steak, chicken, and seafood options. If this is a place you plan on frequenting, a Frequent Friends Club card is a great deal. You rack up points for every dollar you spent, in return there are $10 gift certificates for every set number of points you earn. Check it out! You won't be disappointed! Until I find other people to visit this restaurant with, I will continue to watch the smile grow on my dad's face as he asks the waitresses to "nuke" his coffee so its super hot and laugh when they don't understand that he wants it microwaved before delivery. ::sigh::

You know what... Ive eaten there many times and I have to say... I have never had a bad meal there. The service is always friendly and attentive the portions are always generous and as I said I have never been disappointed. Yes, there is always an older crowd there but probably because it is a good value. The ambiance is good, not trendy, but clean and modern. there is room for you party to sit and eat in comfort. We dine out at least twice per week and occasionally we don't have a plan to go somewhere special, so we drop in at Davenports. We always comment when we leave that this should be a first choice place. I'm kind of a tough sell but I'm a fan. You can't go wrong here.

Terrible food and service. My wrap sandwich had been rolled in grease it was so gross i threw up when i got home. My husband had a seafood dish that he said had no flavor. The waitress kept apologizing that it was busy and never once noticed i barely ate my dinner. I would not go here again.

I've never had a bad meal at Davenport's. I highly recommend any specials, the food is good and the prices are reasonable. Always good service. What more can you ask for?

Where your grandmother eats. And your aunts and uncles. Very accommodating for large groups so round up the whole gang and bring 'em over for food that is very mild and polite and not too shocking. Food wise, it's one of those places that has photos of the food in the menu. The menu which changes with less often than birds molt. It's a chain, but a local one, but the food and service is much, MUCH better than the Cumberland location. (but not as funny). You can find a few items on the menu that won't give you arteriosclerosis.

    A) If you have been to Gregg's, Chelo's and Cheesecake Factory: 1- Cheesecake Factory 2- Davenport's 3- Gregg's 4- Chelo's if I were to rate from the highest quality to the lowest.... B) If you have never been to Gregg's or Chelo's: Davenport's is like a Cheesecake Factory branch in a less glamorous neighborhood/town. It's definitely better than you local Applebee's or your all-American dining chain, but don't expect something extraordinary. This Davensport is located at a plaza where there is a Stop & Shop (grocery store), Marshall's , Savers etc. But once you're inside you don't feel that you're basically in a large strip mall at all... I had the Chicken Orzo soup, which was quite delicious, and Norwegian Salmon with rice. The salmon wasn't that good and it was pretty small for $15, which is a lil pit pricey considering this is a local chain restaurant. I also had a sugar-free Apple Pie, which was really delicious too! Overall, I do recommend it if you're in the area. Certainly much better than Gregg's or Chelo's!

  • Erin N.

I think Davenports is your typical, small business Restaurant trying to compete with the big guys...and there's nothing wrong with that. You get served large portions for a fair price, and its home-style cooking... I'd compare it to a Chelos, or Greggs (local)

    (5)
  • Tim M.

Davenports is great! Ive been multiple times with my girlfriend and her family. It is like a local 99, or Ruby Tuesdays. Typical, good, American good. The staff is always friendly and though the restaurant is so big it has a very homey feel, you feel like your part of the family. Their honey mustard is to die for so id recommend the honey mustard wrap, their house made cream soda is pretty good as well. Defiantly worth a stop when in Rhode Island!

I hardly ever have a bad experience at restaurants, but when the waitress is trying to serve you while in tears because the drunk owner yelled at her, you can't expect the greatest time. Food was mediocre at best, simple.

We found out quickly that a slightly older crowd dines at Davenport's! It's a large restaurant, plenty of seating, friendly service but the best way to describe the food, "cafeteria quality with plated service".

Davenport's is great! The food is hot and fresh and the waitstaff is always welcoming and fun. I dine there most every week, Bibiana (our usual waitress) is wonderful and her service is the best! I would gladly recommend this restaurant to friends and family alike.

They have a real good menu, lots of items to choose from, full bar too - which is always good for me. There were two of us, my son and I, he had salmon and I had one of their specialty pizzas. The food was good, served pretty quickly, and the waitress was very nice. You can eat inside or out, we chose out, and we had a nice time and a good meal here. We'd definitely eat here again.

  • Matt T.

I was greeted with a smile by the hostess and made my way to the bar where I was meeting a friend. We sat down and our waitress appeared. It was busy (being dinnertime and all) and she seemed a bit harried....nice but you could clearly tell she was in a bit of a rush for us. We both ordered the lasagna, which comes with a cup of soup. My red chowder was chock full of potato but not any clams...my pal's soup was cool,so we sent it back to reheat it. Our lasagna came and it was a good size portion...the sauce, however was bland. Overall, it was an ok visit..nothing stood out as bad...the price was reasonable for the serving..but nothing also stood out to differentiate this place from the any of the competition. Overall, ok.
