Davenports is always our go-to for lunch! The menu has something for everyone and they are very accommodating. I have never eaten inside the restaurant but as far as take out goes they are great! I work in a small office and its probably a 15-20 minute drive from the restaurant. The food travels very well and they haven't messed up an order in the 4 years i have worked here!

Enjoyed the liver and onions, cooked just right. Was not crazy about the supreme calamari, it was cold. It was a great deal. Drink, meal and desert for under $15 dollars. The service, they make you feel very welcomed. I would go back again.

Got take-out and it was great! I cannot eat gluten or dairy and their Gluten-Free Burger was glorious!! It was huge and I was more than satisfied. :)

We enjoyed our dinners, drinks and desert at this restaurant. Bartenders and waitstaff were very friendly. Seemed friendly to an older crowd in bar and families with children. Beer selection needs more craft beers but they did have one decent IPA.

My wife and I make a special trip to both Davenport locations to enjoy the best seafood chowder around! All of the food is great and the service is excellent, we have never had a bad visit! I especially like it when the manager on duty comes by our table to see how we are doing.

This place consistently delivers good food. Everything is always fresh and hot & cooked to perfection. Whether its steak, pizza, or seafood (best scallops I have ever had & get them frequently) this place never disappoints. Known for their seafood chowder, if you like it creamy you won't be disappointed either. Staff and management very friendly and accommodating.

I don't think I've ever had a bad experience here! The food, drink selection, and service are continuously great! This last experience was just as expected, but with a little set back. It was so hot in there! The thermostat read 85 degrees...it wasn't even that hot outside! I believe the bartender said is wasn't working properly, hopefully it's fixed soon! As far as the food was concerned, we had the 1/2 priced apps, which were the calamari and mozzarella sticks. Both were hot and crispy, and with plenty of marinara sauce for dipping. Our dessert was probably the best part of the meal! I love, love, love Davenports pies! Now, I'm not sure if they are, but it tastes like it's from scratch! Delicious! The cookie sundae was excellent as well. The soft and warm cookies topped with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge..uh...pure decadence! *Bonus for carrying one of my fav red wines, Apothic!

A group of co-workers ordered from here for lunch. I had the fish & chips and it was great. The batter is not thick & nor greasy and the fries were on the thicker side. I saw some great looking salads and a hamburger club cooked to perfection. Maybe I will stop by for dinner to see what else I can enjoy.

The service was impeccable... The food was also impeccable... The prices are great!! If I could give this place 100 stars I would. We were there on Sunday... We ordered the loaded nachos, we also had soup, and ordered chicken parm and lasagna and also had the chicken pot pie. All were excellent. A great place just to stop in for lunch or take the entire family for dinner. Plenty of parking across the street and in the parking lot for the restaurant. This is a great place!!!

I live within walking distance of Davenport's and it makes for a decent place to grab a meal. I definitely enjoy the majority of the food, especially the seafood chowder and the dinner rolls. They also boost a huge menu and good lunch specials. Unfortunately, my negative remarks start when it comes to service and organization. The staff is usually very friendly and welcoming but mistakes with orders are unfortunately quite common. I recently visited and had a friend order a tuna club but received a tuna melt and many other similar inaccuracies have occurred while dining in over the years. The organization with take-out orders is much worse. I have lived within walking distance for over a year and ordered take-out at least 5 times. I have yet to receive a fully accurate take-out order. Most recently, I ended up with the gentleman who was before me in line's order and he went home with mine. I suggest always thoroughly checking your to-go items. Possibly, the restaurant could start implementing that each employee go over each to-go order with each customer, including opening the containers and showing what food is actually being received. I must mention that each time the staff was very nice and apologetic but it is clear nothing has been done to remedy the underlying problem.

The prime rib wrap and curly fries is my go to meal. My wife and I get this via take out at least once a month if not more often. We always get it as take out if we have friends or family visiting. Also, a great spot to eat in and I definitely recommend the seafood chowder. I've tried other things which were all excellent in their own right, but the wrap is as good as it gets. Service has always been fantastic, eat in or take out.

My husband and I are far from good cooks so if we want to eat a decent meal we get take out. In fact we get take out a lot. Davenport's is our favorite go to spot. The staff is always pleasant and the food is ready fairly quick! Their menu is pretty extensive but I'd recommend the Chicken parm. It's very good as is the seafood chowder. Delicious!

We stopped by Davenport's for a quick lunch after visiting a local business in the area. The menu is massive so there is something for everyone. I opted for the lunch special, half of a chicken salad sandwich and a cup of kale chorizo soup. Both were really great. We had a large party and the waiter was perfect with taking orders, getting our food out promptly, and attending to our needs. I think this is a great spot for good food at a reasonable price.

For starters, the menu is enormous. There are options for everyone! Even my wife, who is vegan and is avoiding gluten, was able to find something. We both ordered the Sweet Potato and Black Bean Burger. It was delicious! I didn't expect a good, homemade vegetarian burger from a casual restaurant like this. It also came with curly fries, which are always good. Big portions, great atmosphere, great value!

I ate at Davenport's for the 1st time today, and I will not be returning because of the mediocre food and horrible customer service. Today when I walked into Davenport's I had a nearly empty can of seltzer water in my hand. As soon as I walked in, I felt like a fool for forgetting to leave it in the car. But, before I even had a chance to throw it away, the restaurant manager was at our table informing me that I couldn't bring any outside beverages into the establishment as per the board of health. It was a very warm welcome!!! Had I not been dining with a coworker, I would have left right then. And I should have because service only got worse from there on.... -My coworker ordered lemonade but was brought a ginger ale. -My soup came out at room temperature with cold meat floating in it. -By the time the waitress replaced my soup my dinner was already at the table. -The baked potato on my plate looked like it had been cooked 3 times and was so dry that even two butter pads, salt and pepper couldn't save it. -There was a large picture leaning against the emergency exit the entire time we were there. (Clearly a more notable code violation than my outside beverage being carried into the establishment was.) I hate to leave a review without saying anything positive so here are the two nice things about my meal. My sandwich was delicious and Davenport's has a decent size gluten free menu. I really wish this dining experience had gone better. I work in town and finding a decent gluten free menu can be a challenge.

This place has gone downhill since the changing of managers. This was my #1 place (we even did our reception here) and sadly we will not be returning. My husband called 3 hours in advance for a reservation. When we got there we were told that there would be a 40 minute wait! Umm reservation? The manager rudely told us that we did not make a reservation, it was a "call ahead" & that they would "do their best" to seat us asap. No apology, no sympathy, just a that's the way it is attitude. Then 10 minutes later he sticks us in a small 4 person booth (not one of the larger ones) with a chair at the end. The table clearly wasn't meant for 5 plates. The previous manager would accommodate my family even if we called 30 minutes in advance. He clearly needs some customer service training as well as the hostess who just stood there with her I told you so grin as he made us feel like we were inconveniencing him! This place use to be crowded on a Friday night & now there are several open parking spots. Now the food, my fish was served in a puddle of oil so crunchy on one side and soggy on the other. The new version of fries taste stale & like freezer burn. Kid portions are smaller. No refills offered. The menu was all ripped. As I said before, we will not be going back!

Love this place. Great staff, good food. Love that Lori and Carmen. And rest of the staff. Usually have smiles on there face.

This is a great townie-style restaurant and a favorite of the family. The atmosphere is casual and pretty family oriented, although the bar (which is well separated from the main restaurant) can get a little rowdy and fun. The bloody mary is surprisingly delicious, and the prime rib wrap is melt-in-your-mouth perfect. Similar in a lot of ways to Chelo's and Gregg's if you're looking for comparison.

Service was excellent for the type of restaurant; we were in and out in under 45 minutes. The place was pretty busy considering it was a Monday night -- albeit Memorial Day. I ordered the lobster roll off the new menu, and I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived: lightly toasted, buttered roll overflowing with large chunks of claw meat. The curly fries on the side were perfectly seasoned and crispy, and even the pre-made cole slaw was decent. Lastly, at $16.99, the price was right. This was my first time dining at Davenport's; I had previously ordered take-out from there, which was also good. This is a great, local restaurant for a quick meal of American cuisine. It's not gourmet by any means, but it is good comfort food.

We visited Friday June 28th for the Evan's Crew Fundraiser Let's start with some not so favorable things. 1. Parking, the lot the restaurant is on has a very small parking lot with a larger additional parking lot across busy Mendon Rd. 2. Menu, the menu is huge, while I like a selection there's bar food, comfort food, dinners, burgers, pasta, fish, pizzas... you get the idea 3. The food is OK, I hate critiquing food but will anyways Boneless Buffalo app was outstanding, my wife had the Pot Roast dinner which was good but seemed the major part of the portion was Mashed potato not roast, my son had a grilled cheese and daughter had chicken fingers, both which were typical. I had a bacon cheese burger, while cooked perfectly the taste was just about average, I was surprised to see it wasn't served with the typical Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Mayo, it was literally a bacon cheeseburger on a bun that's it. 4. Upon leaving, the girl working the front counter said "have a good night to us", unfortunately she never lifted her head to make eye contact just kept doing whatever it was she was doing 5. Decor, very clean but looks dated Onto the Favorable things 1. Attentive wait staff, our waiter Sean was exceptional this place was packed and my son can be difficult, he wanted raw hard carrots with ranch dressing as his side, Sean said he would check and sure enough he was able to get our son that. He consistently checked on our table, removing plates as needed, refilling beverages, basically doing everything right, and when Sean was tied up on another table another member of the wait staff checked on us. Owning my own customer service consulting company, I must say if the Davenport's staff seems to get the idea of excellent customer service. 2.The Davenport's brew, great flavor and color 3. Management, granted every staff member was wearing an Evan's Crew shirt for the fundraiser so I couldn't pick out a manager, but I must say they did an exceptional job either planning for a packed house and bringing in extra staff or adjusting and using resources as needed. Table turn times were quick, food delivery was slightly higher than average which is to be expected with the crowd they had, and there were constantly people cleaning. 4. Ownership, for giving 20% of a Friday's profits to charity, I've seen other establishments hold dining fundraisers on Monday thru Thursday night's to boost their week night business or do 10% on a weekend night . I applaud them for this 5. for a packed place there was never a claustrophobic moment, good separation between tables, only real bottleneck was near the bar however the tables in the bar area were far enough away it would not have bothered me to sit there.

Overall good. But if you are hungry, it's good food. Service needs to be a higher priority still. No refills. Not once.

Three and a half stars, really. Pretty good! Not worth making a long drive or a special evening out, but nice for a local, family place. Good food. Good value. I've had a few off meals or a few off servers, but overall it is a good place to go with children, parents, grandparents. Usually pretty good. I like their salads. Something for everyone.

I work near Davenports, and sometimes when my day looks busy, I like to order from them online. I headed over to their website, picked out a 1/2 Reuben with soup from their online menu and proceed to answer the questions about the kinds of soup and beverage selection. I hit the add to cart button and was given the message that I failed to fill out a required field, so I clicked on my Reuben selection once more and checked off all the boxes once again. Upon clicking add to cart I was told that ONCE AGAIN, I had not answered all the required questions. I went back in, and after 3 more attempts making sure I clicked EVERY POSSIBLE OPTION (all two of them) I gave up and called in. I informed the woman who answered that I would like to place an order for pick up. She asked me what I'd like and I told her 1/2 Reuben with soup. She paused, and asked me to repeat that. I complied, and after another moment she replied with "Sure! Hold on one second!" I was then handed over to a man who asked me "Who I was looking for." I once again explained that I was looking to place an order for pickup 1/2 Reuben Sandwich with soup. "OH SURE! What kind of soup?" It was determined that I wanted a chicken orzo soup and after taking this information he asked for my name. I told him my name and he repeated back "Sarah?" "No." I told him my name once more to which he repeated back to me as "Nicole?" Wrong again. I spelt out my name on the phone and upon completion. My name has three syllables and starts with an M. When I picked up my Sandwich 10 minutes later I took with me a take out menu. On my way back to my car I noticed that the lunch specials are listed as coming with a beverage. With the ordering of the sandwich being the ordeal that it was, I resigned myself to water at the office and continued on to my car. The sandwich was good. Nothing to write home about, though the orzo chicken soup was delicious, I can't say I'm clamoring to return. They may have lost a customer, possibly named Nicole or Sarah.

Close to homemade food. Both my girlfriend and myself enjoyed the meals. Had the turkey dinner and really liked it. Quality service and a nice atmosphere.

Davenports is old reliable. You know what to expect. You won't be blown away but the meal will taste good, the service will be fine and you can count on getting out of there in decent time. Last night's meal was exactly that. No one's meal looked delicious but no one complained either. My soup and salad were okay. The server was attentive and sweet. And the bill was very reasonable. It's a family restaurant to a T. Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights during the early bird hour expect to wait a long time. My only complaint last night were the rolls. They tasted like something Pillsbury rolled out. Not good.

The food is not nearly as good as Gregg's, especially the dessert. The atmosphere is not nearly as refined. You end up paying the same prices for things that you could make yourself for half the cost or less, and none of the satisfaction of eating something delicious. Our waitress was not very attentive and was unable to remember parts of our order... we were brought another table's order first! I have no clue why there's a line for this place on any night of the week. Go to Gregg's instead.

I visited Davenport's for the first time on a Saturday; I went out for lunch with my family making a party of 6. The place was pretty empty. The atmosphere/vibe was casual and sort of outdated... another reviewer called it "the restaurant your grandma eats at," which made me laugh. It's a very accurate description, and we'd chosen the place because my grandmother goes there often! The menu is rather extensive and can't seem to make up its mind: burgers and pub food, Italian, seafood, pizza, and more. Our server was the absolute nicest woman! She was very attentive with drinks, bread, etc. and was very patient with my customization of one of their specials (bison burger). I asked them to scratch the bun, fries, and jalapeños and just serve the burger over a salad. Not too complicated, right? She jotted down my substitutions without batting an eye, and all seemed well. When our food was brought out, my bison burger was sitting all alone on a naked plate. Obviously there must've been some miscommunication in the kitchen, because our server noticed it and whisked it right back to them before she even set it down. Eventually she came back with the burger on a salad. The burger had no cheese, when I hadn't asked them to omit it. I politely pointed this out and asked for some. She apologized and made one more trip back to the kitchen for me. I was excited to have bison for a change, but it was quite boring. I realize bison is supposed to be leaner than beef, but the burger was rather dry, bland, and crumbly. The greens left much to be desired - it was obviously your every day boring "bag salad" found at the grocery store, with nothing to dress it up. Overall, I will not be eating at Davenport's again. While the waitstaff was very cheerful and helpful, it seems the chef and kitchen staff lack creativity and organization/competency when crafting orders, even on a slow lunch hour.

The rating says it all. "A-OK" Stumbled in after a Zumba class on a Tuesday night. Were seated within minutes. We told the waitress we just left a Zumba class and were as thirsty as camels, she kept the water coming. I so very much appreciated that. Menu was quite extensive, didn't seem like they had a particular specialty. I decided to go with something simple as I got the vibe their pub style food was probably their best style. I ordered the honey mustard chicken rollup. It was quite delicious I have to say. Lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese, fried chicken covered in honey mustard dressing. Delicous! Sweet potato fries complemented the meal very nicely. I ordered a side salad to start my meal. For $4 save your money. Nothing special here and the croutons were nothing to write home about. I'd definitely stop in again if i was in the area.

I came here for the first time on a sunday. I ordered the all you can eat homestyle chicken meal. I made the right choice because it was so delicious I could not stop raving about it. They meal comes with all you can eat salad, rolls, meatless penne pasta, fries & of course chicken. Let me tell you, if you are a fan of Wright's all you can eat chicken you will be even more impressed wit Davenport's. The chicken is so tender and flavorful, the fries are crispy and homemade tasting, the salad is made beautifully with home-style croutons and dressing. I cannot wait to come here again, I will starve myself for the whole day so I can get my fill of the Davenport's all you can eat chicken!

We stumbled upon Davenport's after a 20 mi ride on the Blackstone River Bikeway (a fantastic and beautiful trail for all you riders). We had just checked out a nearby "family tavern" that received good Yelp reviews. The place was a dump. We did an about face and, tired and hungry, drove to Davenport's. The photo laden, laminated menus and homogenous look of the place -- mid-price chain restaurant all the way -- were off-putting, but things got much better from there. Our server, Craig, was excellent. He was good natured, efficient and had a lot of "character." We started with an ample portion of perfectly cooked fried calamari ($8.49) accompanied with banana peppers and a mediocre marinara. Wife and son each had an enormous chicken pot pie ($10.49) that looked down home picture perfect and, I'm told, tasted great. I had veal Marsala served over penne ($16.99), at my request. I don't like long pasta. The portion was ginormous. So much for the calories I burned biking. There were lots of 'shrooms, the veal was cooked MR, and the penne was al dente. Yum. All meals are served with a choice of veg, salad or soup. Last night there were six soup options. We each had Portugese Kale. They didn't skimp on the chorizo, kale or beans, but the latter were undercooked. Davenport's has a solid list of beer and cocktails. My wife had a huge Margarita in a goblet (schooner to you Chicagoans) for $8. It was 3X the standard serving. I had a couple of pints of Sam Lager at $3.98 each. Junior had a private label root beer which he enjoyed. Dessert was an enormous slice of moist, tasty Heath bar cake ($5.99) that fed all three of us. To be clear, this is not fine dining, but the food was very solid, the service was excellent and the restaurant was clean. Let me know what you think of this review by clicking a button below. Thanks for reading!

I have to say I was impressed. I was not expecting good food. I had a club sandwich which was just fine. They have a large selection for a menu ranging anywhere from steaks to salads and soup. Prices are extremely reasonable. A great family restaurant.

I would like to address the numerous comments on the "Amazing" Seafood Chowder. The main ingrediant , besides that it is either canned or frozen, is that the "Seafood" is in fact not crab but that artifical, who knows what it is fake crab! That said, I do think the food is passable and the desserts are great. Its a wonderful place for family's or the elderly. The last time I took my Dad there I had the pork chops which were very good. The time before I had the prime rib which had to go back twice, although the manager was repentive and gave us a $10 coupon for the next trip. Overall, I would say it is a step above Chelo's which has really gone down hill, in my opinion.

While visiting my father in-law from California, he suggested Davenports. As we entered it felt as if we were entering a time machine back to the 70's Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares please help this place out. The decor was old and worn. The staff was non-caring and even said they don't eat at their. That was soon to be understood. We should have taken the hint, paid for our drinks and left, but instead we ordered the St. Patrick's Day special - Corned beef sandwiches and fries. Someone needs to help the cook out and teach him/her how to carve the Corned beef. What we got were poorly sliced/peaces of corned beef with no fl aver, and very dry. When we come back to R.I we will not be back to Davenport's.

The food here was pretty good. cheesesticks, hamburger and sweet potato fries, and some cheesecake type dessert. It was crowded on a Friday so it must be somewhat popular. The staff is very nice.

We went just for coffee and cake. The cake was so-so; not worth the trip. The waitress got our orders wrong. Yup. That's what I said. We ordered simple coffee and cake, and she got our orders wrong. You could tell she wasn't really paying attention to what we were saying, so we weren't surprised when it was wrong.
