    Hey, I really like this place. You know why? It's simple: Ted's has the right notion that a steak of quality speaks for itself: and they're right! Not only that, most of their stuff is just good and it's served well so before you eat it, you actually look forward to it. That's not so common, actually. People forget that presentation is more than half the battle. From soups to nuts, it's a better than average atmosphere and steak house. First, they use real silverware. If you want to eat like an adult, buy adult sized silverware, that's what seperates the shitty places from the decent places. They have good silverware! And eating there is no different, it's like Texas: everything is big. but also kind of elegant in a hearty way. They do it right: you'll find it hard to hate this place whether it's lunch or dinner. They even get creative but not too out there. For instance, they have really good homemade lemonade, really good burgers, most everthing is just good. It's great for a group, it's kinda classy but not stuffy, it's a step above. I love their crab cakes, fish and chips (outstanding portions and real good) and their shakes, you gotta try one...can't even explain it. I don't go there to be knocked out. I go when I don't wanna be in a chain restaurant with the usual sfuff. I say, it's woth paying a little extra....reminds me of a decent New York steakhouse. It lacks the grill smell but it's really worth it if you don't want to take a chance on what you'll be getting: they're predictable.

    This place was amazing. Great appetizer, with amazing dip. Bison burgers were made right to order, was able to get in and out during an hour lunch.

    The bison filet is incredible. Melts in your mouth like a first kiss. So good, the flavor lingers and makes you smile. Will definitely be back. Dessert menu looked good, but I was too enamored with the filet to think about chasing it with chocolate.

    Ended up here on a whim. The atmosphere was very warm and inviting, and the waitstaff had a friendly attitude. The food was amazing. My wife had no complaints of her cheeseburger, milkshake & mashed potatos. I had a great Bison burger with a beer on tap. That's another plus, there are quite a bit of beers on tap. I definitely look forward going back.

    I used to frequent Ted's in downtown Atlanta when I found myself in that hell hole of a city for a week at a time, twice a year. In spite of its paternal connection to Ted Turner, I liked it for three reasons: 1) They kept the homeless away from the entrance 2) They food was consistent 3) I discovered bison at Ted's Lets be clear. Rhode Island is LOADED with excellent restaurant choices. I really don't see a reason to spend a nice night out at a national chain - even a good one like Bonefish Grill. With so much within reach why would you? Bison is the reason - the only reason - to go to Ted's. But it is ENOUGH of a reason. It is excellent. In fact, once bitten, you'll wish it appeared on more menus. My family keeps telling me how bad red meat is for me. I believe them but c'mon. A bison steak (or burger) at the bar with a frosty brew is good for the soul every now and then. Its food for men and for women who like men. So, belly up to the bar, roll up your sleeves to catch the juices as they flow down your forearms - and let the testosterone flow. At Ted's.

    Killer bison! Not to be confused with the live ones that want to gore you to death at Yellowstone Park, these bison are merely their tenderly-filleted relatives, well-prepared, juicy and full of Upper Midwest flavor. I had not enjoyed good bison since a trip out West several years ago and didn't realize how much I had missed it. We very much enjoyed the Bison Nachos appetizer that evening, too, -- a unique take on a traditional bar food favorite, smothered in spicy bison chili! And two yee-ha's for the atmosphere -- quiet, comfortable and appropriately seasoned with some rare country oldies. To to be fair, the prices were higher than seemed appropriate for chain restaurant dining, and the sides were a tad skimpy (aw come on, I'm certain ol' Ted can afford a few more potatoes and veggies) but overall we found Ted's to be a satisfying -- and unique -- dining experience.

    LOVE this place!!! I came her a few weeks ago and had a awesome meal with my husband.. They hand make there veggie burger and it's worth the ride for it! The atmosphere here is amazing I love everything about it! From the crushed ice in your drinks to the service and food goes without saying. Its definitely worth the trip for me. The booths are very private and you don't feel like everyone is listening to your conversations. It's a must try. It's a great location with lots of shopping nearby.:)

    First time I had a bison burger and it was Excellent.......thick and perfectly cooked. My co-worker had the pot roast and it looked delicious, I was almost envious.....and since he practically licked the plate clean, I'm going to hazard a guess it was delish. We sat in the bar and the bartender was our waiter....didn't catch his name but he was husky guy with a buzz cut. GET HIM.....because he was the most attentive and personable waiter we've had in a long time. I highly recommend this place...

    What a wonderful restaurant! My wife and I went on a lunch date (way cool, I suggest you escape from the daily grind and take your significant other out sometime as well) and since the kids are in school, wanted to go somewhere different. A place that wasn't in our usual routine. Ted's won the vote and our hearts! Once there, we found the staff to be super friendly and downright happy to be there.... This of course made us happy to be there =] Their specialty is Bison, so we inquired about the details. Our waitress (who brought complimentary pickles that were FANTASTIC) went on and on (in a good way) to explain all of the yummy options. Well, by the time she was done, we were drooling LOL! First we jumped into the chili, holy moly it was good. Like, hey, I would like some chili so I want to go to Ted's good!! Next, Bison burgers. In a word, YUM! In two words YUM YUM!! In three words YUM YUM YUMMY!!! The onion rings were amazing, especially in the horseradish dipping sauce our waitress recommended. You get the idea . . . Great job guys and gals, you will see us again real soon!

    We gave Ted's a second chance. Devon was once again our waiter and was just as amazing as the first time around. He even remembered us and explained the reason there were so many flies (something to do with a broken fan unit near a back door). The burgers and drinks were good. The food took some time to come out but, since it was so busy, it was reasonable. The burgers weren't as flavorful as you would expect with such creative toppings. The one thing that really held Ted's back from a better review is the speed of the bar service. Each drink we ordered took at least 15 minutes to come out. Ted's still has room for improvement but it wasn't as disastrous as the night of the flies.

    A restaurant is only as good as its servers and we had a great one in Kristen. Very efficient, very friendly and very fast. It was a super-busy night, but management has everything perfectly coordinated. I had the bison meatloaf with garlic mash potatoes which was fantastic. I almost wanted a second order to eat for tomorrow's lunch! This is the type of chain that I hope spreads throughout New England. I was dressed casual, as we're most others. The previous review that said he was seated out of view because of his clothes! He must be looking for a free meal or has an inferiority complex.

    This place sucked. A dried out bison burger, day old beer can chicken, overpriced weak drinks. What is to like? I rarely ever send food back or complain, but this meal was so bad. I had to. The manager told me that the food was good and that I didn't know what I was talking about. I was served chicken that got reheated from the fridge. I wanted this place to be good, it is very nice design inside but the food was so bad I will never go back. I see all of these reviews about bison burgers, they server them at Ruby Tuesdays, it not a new thing. Look at my other reviews, I don't trash places but I had to on this one. Terrible!!!

    First impression: classy, refined, cigar friendly looking joint. Second observation reminds me there's no cigar smoke for a reason; sadly. The restaurant itself is a large, open floor plan with high tiled ceilings and a large Bison head on the back wall. The glossy hardwood floor and matte wooded booths add to the charm and compliment the low lighting nicely. Each booth feels personal, with two individual lamps, a mirror and plush leather seats. They invoke comfort and make it easy to ignore your neighbors and the noisy kitchen. Every other booth seems to have a quote: Courage...is being scared to death and saddling up anyway - John Wayne. The food was average to above average. The best part of the meal were the NY barrel style pickles which were FREE! My favorite pickles in the world...and free :) Started with the homemade chips with ranch-onion dip. At $5 they were totally overpriced but delicious no less. My partner got the salt and pepper trout, and I got the bison meatloaf - both of us opted for the roasted asparagus and the garlic mash as our two sides. Both dishes had pluses and deltas. The trout was delicious, perhaps a little overcooked but this is clearly not a seafood restaurant. The bison without the brown gravy was a little dry but overall with the dressing it actually had a good flavor. The garlic mashed was delicious!!! The asparagus was cooked to perfection but not snapped far enough to the bottom so some bites were rather tough. The highlight for me was my server; Kevin. I'm a sucker for great service...and a handsome face. Kevin was great, he offered both lol. In all seriousness, Kevin was very attentive and not too overbearing. He offered that middle of the road service where they check up on you just the right amount and manage to anticipate when you want to be interrupted and when you don't. This is a good spot for autumn or winter comfort food in a nice atmosphere with a price tag to match the decor. Service - great, decor - great, food - fair.

    Went on a Sunday afternoon and got some one of the nice outdoor seating tables. All burgers have the option of beef or bison (the latter being leaner and healthier). I got the Green and Hot bison burger.. Medium. Well done fries. Everything came out of the kitchen..PERFECT The burger was tasty with great spicy guacamole, pepper jack cheese, ranch sauce and jalapenos.... The fries were crispy and seasoned very well. The service was attentive with a smile. Overall, this national franchise is a good choice in the Garden City area.

    Nice concept, decent food, BUT.... THE SERVICE SUCKS! I waited 10 minutes just to get seated when the place was empty. Our waiter took 20 minutes to take our order, he never even checked up on us. HORRIBLE!

    This was our first time dining here....we stumbled across it while we were in the area and we thought we'd try it out. The place is gorgeous, super clean. That being said, I was surprised that it wasn't busy for a Saturday night, 6:00 p.m. We were seated immediately and our waitress, Marisa was right over. She asked if it was our first time here and we said yes, she was super excited to share with us the menu and the bison offerings. We opted out of the bison (which I think bummed her out), but what we had was delicious. I had the nachos and my boyfriend had the beef cheeseburger with fries. We had a soda and iced tea. The nachos were really delicious, he sad his hamburger was out of this world delicious, and he has his well done and it was juicy. It was a good experience overall, a few minor complaints, but I would love to go back and try the bison burger. The ambience is 5 star! Cleanliness 5 star! Our bill was $29 and change.

    I'll start by saying the food was phenomenal - I had the bison burger and it was downright awesome. However, the service was some of the worst service I've experienced. No one was there to seat us when we walked in. After several minutes of waiting around, the manager (who was admittedly quite friendly) took us to our seats and told us a waiter would be right over. No waiter ever came to our table so we gave up and moved to the bar in the hope of getting service. The bartender was less than friendly, never asked to refill our drinks, didn't give us napkins or silverware when we finally did get our food (we had to request them from a staff person who was walking by), and I could have gone across the street to Shaws and cooked my own food in the time it took to get served. All told, the food was terrific. But it certainly wasn't worth the waiting and hassle of bad service. I won't be returning.

    First time visiting and I was really impressed. The decor is very nice and classy. Service was EXCELLENT! The Food surpassed excellence. We had the bison pot roast and the trout. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted lovely. I would not hesitate to bring guests with me here in the future. Very clean establishment.

    My wife and I were out shopping and decided to stopped and grab dinner. What a pleasant surprise. The menu was well designed, and informative. The service was prompt and attentive.The decor and ambiance was up scale and much better than I would have anticipated. Now for the food....The garlic pickle slices, the salad, bison chili, ribs, burgers onion rings and fries (served with a tasty horseradish dip) plus dessert and the drinks were all reasonably priced and tasted great. Needless to say, we hit a home run with Ted's Montana Grill. Great casual dining. I would recommend this restaurant without any hesitation.

    Didn't even know this place existed until we drove by while on the wait list somewhere else that had an hour wait. Expecting there to be a wait at 5 pm on a Saturday night, my husband dropped me off at the door. Luckily the place was pretty dead, to be honest I was a little skeptical about the food at this point since everywhere else around was packed. We sat down and was immediately greeted by our waitress Justyna. She was very nice and QUICK! She had our drinks and pickles on the table in 2 minutes tops, and didn't rush us at all to order. Throughout our meal we had full drinks at all times (poor thing must have gone to get us refills 6 times!), and she noticed how much my daughter loved the pickles and brought many refills of those as well with a smile :) she answered the 15 questions my husband had about the burgers with no problem. We felt as if we were actually important for once. Nice to have such great service! Moving on, we ordered the Bison Nachos for an appetizer. Me nor my husband has ever had bison so this was a new one for us. The nachos were good. I'm a huge fan of extra cheese and these definitely lacked in that department. I had the Knife and Fork Bison burger cooked medium rare. Perfectly cooked! Bison is better than I expected, can't really explain the taste so I took a picture of how Ted's describes it (see photo). The best part were the fries, Oh My Geee the FRIES! Fresh hand cut fries. Soooo delicious. My husband had the Mexican bison burger cooked perfect as well, I was jealous I should say. His burger was delicious, melt in your mouth goodness. Next time I go that will be mine. My daughter had the kids beef burger sliders. She wasn't a huge fan of the bread but I thought it was good! If I would of had room for dessert I would have tried it, maybe next time. Not bad for $58... well $70 with the tip.

    The seats are tight and the food is adequate, not great. We paid over $140 for 3 burgers and one fish sandwich and 3 deserts and coffees. It was not worth it! Oh yeah, and two appetizers we also had. The appetizers were adequate and we did add a nice tip. The servers were excellent and the prices are not printed on drinks. If we actually got drinks, our bill could have been $240. Come on, I'll stick to a Whopper and get one free or other establishments. That actually tastes better, with no fries, of course. We are not heavy people, about 180 lbs me and my wife much less and our two companions and we felt squished in our seats in a booth. The table you're right on top of. My opinion is save your money and eat at a nice restaurant with a bigger menu and better prices and food.

    I like that Teds is not a place that takes itself too seriously. No gourmet pretentions here, just a good solid burger 'n beer joint. I wish they had chosen a smaller place, the crowds here are pretty light. It kind of feels abandoned really. Thats too bad, because I fear Teds is not too long for this world, in this spot anyway. They don't serve the same old wimpy, tasteless stuff found in typical, mass market chains. The Spike Bison Burger has a great mix of spicy and meaty flavors. The onion rings are nicely crisped, and the horseradish dip has real bite. The bison burgers are often slightly overcooked, it may be a bit more difficult with the lower fat content, order accordingly. I do miss the Anchor Steam on tap, but Sam Adams is a decent, and often fresher, replacement.

    I like bison. I mean, I really like bison. I like the fact that they're fuzzy. I like the fact that the more athletic specimens can jump over 6 feet tall fences. I like the fact that they can eat snow. But as much as I think they look cute and like their awesome personalities, I like eating them more. Bison is good for me (though I'm not good for the bison) and bison is yummy. Bison steaks, bison chili, bison burgers, bring me the bison. The pickles are good too, but let's be real. Bison.

    Having lived in Atlanta and eating at the original, this was very disappointing. Having been here several times for lunch, this was very disappointing. Bone in rib-eye, thin, over cooked, no flavor and tough. Onion Rings, outer skin left on so it was a piece of leather. The coating also fell off. They used to bread them and let them stand so the coating would have a chance to cling. Then, I witnessed the cook trying to short cut the grill management. He was cooking everything in one area so he would not have to maintain or clean the other side. So I called over the manager and asked what there policy was around vegetarian cooking. So stated that there were very strict policies with the highest level of quality control. Only problem was that at that moment, the cook was cooking fish on the same side as a burger. The burger grease was flowing down onto the fish. To her credit, she accepted what she saw, and immediately made the cook recook the fish order and told him to do it correctly. So, what I am pointing out here is that at this time, there is a serious lack of quality control and attention to detail. They have been jacking up the prices here for the last year by probably close to 10% - 15% while at the same time it appears they are skimping on product (that was a 'select' grade steak at best). For the money, it should have been Choice. Onion Rings, there is just no excuse, just bad form. The total disregard at the cooking station just points to the possibility that they are hiring the lost cost resources they can find. No pride. I will say if you are looking for a good burger for lunch, this is still a great option.

    Went here for the first time. Overall a good experience. I had the Montana breakfast burger and a friend had the meatloaf both very good. The burger was nice and juicy and not overcooked. Will definitely come here again. Well I came back. This time decided to try something besides a burger and was not too impressed. It was good but nothing to write home about and my 2 friends were not super impressed. This is why it had been downgraded from 4 stars to 3 stars.

    I'm not typically one for the chain restaurants, but I make an exception for Ted's. I've been a number of times--always bring the folks here when they're in from out of town--and I've always had a pleasant experience. One of the things I really appreciate about Ted's is their philosophy about serving fresh and sustainable food. I can definitely taste the difference. I've never had a bad meal at Ted's, and especially enjoy their bison burgers (I tend to eat bison over beef any chance I can get), especially the Green & Hot burger. The chips & ranch dip starter is another staple. Service tends to be friendly and consistent, and I've never had trouble getting a table.

    Ted's Montana Grill is delicious. I always have to order a bison burger or the bison pot roast. If you've never had bison its quite similar to beef, but leaner. The restaurant makes everything from scratch and the meals are very homestyle, always makes me feel like I just had a home cooked meal at mom's house. The decor is fun, you feel like you stepped into a saloon in the wild wild west. There is a huge bison head that adorns the wall, it must be bigger than my house! They also serve these delicious pickles when you sit down. I normally hate pickles, but these are not your average pickle out of a jar pickles. They also have delicious baked cookies i recently discovered. The snickerdoodle was about as big as my face and had the perfect combo of cinnamon and sugar, and were so chewy they melted in your mouth. For being my favorite cookie, they are the only restaurant i have found to master them so far!

    This place has a rustic feel to it. Very warm. But it seems to always be empty. Always. As a non red meat eater, Ted's is a little lost on me. I hear from most that the bison is where it's at. Unfortunately I can't speak to it. What I can say is that they have some decent options for those of you who prefer your fish and poultry. The cedar plank salmon is always thunder and juicy, and quite flavorful. The crab cakes are also quite tasty. I wish that turkey burgers were offered because there are a plethora of burger options, none of which I am able to try. One random complaint is the straws they use. Ted's is very earth conscious and I truly appreciate that. What I am less of a fan of is the cardboard straws they use which are eerily reminiscent of a cardboard tampon applicator. I kid you not. I absolutely cannot use them. Dessert options are limited but they have some pretty kick ass shakes.

    Our first time here. The pickles were great! My husband and I had the chop chop salad to start which we both loved. I had the chili which was excellent. Very flavorful and just the right amount of spice. I also had the 50/50 fries and onion rings, which was just ok..kinda a miss. My husband had the trout which he said was great! The service was very fast and friendly. The beer selection was not all that exciting. All in all, a good experience

    I came here years ago when it first opened and had a terrible experience with a basically raw burger. This is coming from someone who likes steaks rare to medium rare and burgers medium, so I am hardly squeamish. After a long hiatus, hubby and I decided to drop by and give it a second whirl when we took a spin to Garden City and weren't in the mood for Chipotle. I was thoroughly unimpressed and won't be back a third time. First, when we walked in there was a really unappetizing smell that I can't put my finger on. It was just gross and I should have followed my instincts and left at that point. Alas, we did not and had a mediocre meal. The service was good and our waitress was chipper in that way that so many waitresses at chain restaurants are - over the top with a rehearsed spiel and a constant attempt at up-selling. Oh! And the addition of clever little sayings, like "- medium well? So, a little pink in the middle?" This always makes me want to strangle someone. If you are too stupid to know how meat is typically cooked, then you shouldn't be eating it. Rare, Medium-Rare, Medium, Medium-Well and Well. That's all. No pink, pink, etc. should never enter the conversation. But, I digress. Notwithstanding the pink fiasco, our waitress was everything you'd expect and hope for at a restaurant like Ted's Montana Grill. The burgers were okay. Nothing to write home about, and at about $13 a pop, terribly overpriced. My burger wasn't rested properly, so hot juice went oozing everywhere when I cut into it and ultimately rendered the bottom bun inedible. I ate my burger bottom bun-less with a knife and fork. I would have been happier with a burger from Five Guys. Or Harry's Burger Bar. Or hell, even Luxe. Ugh. I just left feeling angry that I had spent about $45 on a completely second-rate meal - with no booze!

    A casual chain like setting however the menu has a unique twist as all of the meat burgers, salads and sandwiches are also available with bison instead of beef. I opted for the black and blue salad and it was fresh and delicious but I did have the pleasure of snagging a few bites of the bison burgers and it's good (okay it tasted just like beef) however, it's supposed to be much better for you! Certainly a fun little spice up to the traditional and casual burger place!

    I ordered a bison burger medium rare expecting a warm pink center. It was not pink at all. Still a very tasty burger. Portions were good. The sweet potato was great with cinnamon butter. The coleslaw was not your typical vinegary type of slaw, it was OK. Draft beer selection was nothing to get excited about. Harpoon IPA was the closest "craft beer" on tap.

    We had takeout from Montana grill tonght and it was good. Four of the six of us had bison burgers and we all agreed their bison is almost as good as beef and much healthier. We also liked that you could substitute cole slaw or salad for the fries. The one disappointment was the steak salad. The steak was sent uncut and underdone. The people at the restaurant were friendly and I'm sure when you eat at the restaurant the food is much warmer than when you take out.

    Average experience. The decor was much nicer than expected, and we had no problem getting a table on a saturday night. Very large, saloon inspired. Waitstaff was very friendly and timely. My boyfriend LOVED his bison burger, and they appeared to have quite a selection. The onion rings we ordered as an appetizer we also great, but my meal, the salmon was INCREDIBLY salty. I put salt on pretty much everything, and I couldn't even finish it. The mashed potatoes were loaded with salt, too, so I was feeling ill after just a few bites of my meal. I would give it another shot, but stick with the burgers, since that seems to be what they do best.

    My wife and I always sit at the bar. Bartenders are usually pretty attentive and you get refills of their homemade pickles. You can also watch the kitchen do its magic. Wife loves the ultimate martini. I love the beef burger, rare. Only place I order it that way and they do a great job.

    We enjoy stopping in for a quick burger. The place has a nice atmosphere and the burger options are superb. The drinks are also very good, the fresh lemonade is our favorite. The service is always good, nothing exceptional but very nice for a chain restaurant. I highly recommend the onion rings. I usually have a bison burger but have had the salmon and the crab cakes, both were fresh and seasoned well. Definitely recommend and take family their often when they are in the area.

    I have been going to Ted's since it opened and have always been impressed with their food. The service at times can be great or mediocre, just like most restaurants - it really depends a lot on the server! It is the delicious food that keeps me coming back. Their rolls and butter are to die for, and I think they have the best burger around. I love the bison as well as the beef burger. It is always fresh meat, never frozen and it tastes delicious. Juicy, big and full of flavor. After reading these reviews I think Rhode Islanders are a tough crowd to please. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the place is spotless. As far as being empty or full, on weekends the parking lot is packed so I think they are busy then. I usually go during lunch time so I walk right in. Give them a try - you won't be disappointed!

    My wife and I were wanting to try Teds for awhile now and just got the chance. It was excellent and I can't believe we waited so long. The place has a great atmosphere. The waitress was a little strange but very helpful nonetheless. But the food was awesome! Cooked perfectly, didnt take long to get it, and easily one of the best places I've eaten at, ever. Drinks were pretty good too and a normal price. Definitely will be going much more.

    I really wanted to like this place, but the food just wasn't right. Waitstaff was initially attentive and engaging, atmosphere is decent, and there wasn't anything else to detract from my dining experience. Except the food. I ordered the bison sliders for an appetizer, and it was all downhill from there. It had a gamy taste that reminded me subtly of vomit. My entree arrived very quickly - so quickly that the potato and vegetable were cold. Paradoxically, my steak was overcooked. I complained to the waitress and received replacements, but the discontent was apparent on her face. When I arrived home, I spent the rest of the evening in the bathroom, vowing to never return to Ted's.

    Went for dinner last Thursday with my brother in law and our wives. We were served by Amanda who did an excellent job. Ed and I like ribeye but we had never experienced buffalo meat before so we tried the buffalo ribeye. We decided after trying the buffalo that it would be beef from now on. The buffalo was tough, dry and not very flavorful. The ladies had beef filet mignon and loved it. Aside from the buffalo meat everything else with our dinners was excellent. Martinis were perfect as were the vegetables and potato. I opted for onion rings and French fries and thought they were very tasty. Just the way I like them. Properly seasoned and crispy. We returned to our home for dessert and coffee. We thought the booth design and lighting was very comfortable and attractive. Nice job Amanda!

    Definitely one of my favorite bison burger places to hit up when I am on the road. One thing that I always find surprising is that they are never really packed, but everyone that I bring there for their first time becomes a repeat customer. You definitely have to try the Kitchen Sink Bison Burger at least once.

    My hubby & I went to Ted's for lunch today. We split a bowl of chili...delicious! A bit spicy, but isn't chili supposed to be? I had the "Dynamic Duo" (1 beef & 1 bison slider) with lettuce, pickles, and spicy mustard sauce. It was the perfect size for lunch and was quite tasty. My husband had the "America's Cup" burger...and OMG was that a burger! Bison, cheese, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms and bacon. Can't get much better than that! Juices were running down his chin after the first bite and he had to do the "Guy Fieri" stance to eat it...perfect! Just what you want a burger to be. We also split a chocolate chip cookie for dessert. A perfect sweet treat after all of the savory yumminess (is that a word?) that we just ate. The service was a little slow, but we weren't in a hurry. Just something to keep in mind for next time

    The 12+ times i came here i only recently had a less then perfect meal due to the bun being little stale and the chilli which i get allmost everytime being a little bland. Besides that, everytime i came here i had a deliscious bison burger that i destroyed within minutes. I literally tryed all the burgers on the menu expect maybe 2 or 3. So why all the crappy reviews? Do you really care how a booth looks? dont forget its IS a chain restaurant. If they kept feeding me these gloriously delsiciously juicy burgers i would eat them sitting on a unicycle and still be happy. Then again, these are prolly the same people who think Chillis or Unos are better places or they come to Teds and choose beef over bison Really? thats like going to a deep fried chicken place and ordering corned beef and potatoes. OK, yea, this pace might look deserted most of the times (which i dont know why) and some of the staff looks like they would rather pour hot soup down theyr pants than serve you, but all in all those are minor things to me, considering the quality of the food. My friend used to be a cook here and told me everything is very clean in the kitchen and they hafto wash the entire thing spotless at the end of every night. He also sayd everything from the meatloaf to the asparagus are extremely fresh and that they recieve the bison in whole filets then grind them on site ready to be maid into a wonderful juicy beefy creation of love. As you can tell i love this place. I would reccomend anyone to go here and Get a bowl of bison chilli or If you like onion rings, they are giant and tasty. Burgers i reccomend are the Blue Creek, The Georges Cadillac, The Avolon, The Peppercorn and for those glutteni fans the Kitchen Sink.

    you think when you walk in your going to get great food, not just regular franchise food. I got a burger and fries, cant mess that up! but my husband got a strip steak that was so small and mostly all fat. The mash potatoes looked old and microwaved and the 4 TINY OLD asparagus they gave him tasted and looked like they were daysssss old. It was pretty terrible for the price of the food. Naturally we still gave our waitress 20% tip, because it is never their fault. I have worked in restaurants for years, and I have to say no one takes pride in the kitchen anymore at restaurants..how unfortunate...needless to say we will never go back.

    I'm down for tring new places, in fact it is a goal of mine to branch out so last night my fiance and I went to Ted's. I love a good burger every once and awhile so with that in mind we ventured to Garden City to try this establishment. When we got there it was super loud since their bar area is right at the door, must have been some office happy hour or something. It took the staff a few minutes to great us which was not great but once they did I was pleased that they walked us far from the noise and into a cute booth that was sunken into the walls. The inclosed booths give a really nice personal space vibe. I was smitten with Ted's when they brought out pickels instead of bread. I adore me some cucumber-ish pickels. We had two cups full of them and then placed out order. I was also really inpressed with recycled paper place mats and straws; I have never seen that before. I have never had a bison burger so I went with the plate that offered two 3oz sliders one bison and one beef. The food came out pretty quickly and I took my first bite.... sadly this is when my small crush on Ted's faded away. SALT! Both of my burgers were like eating a salt lick. I got through one and couldn't finish the other. I asked the waitress to take them away. She did but what she did not do was 1. ask me if I wanted anything else 2. apologize 3. have the manager come over 4. offer dessert 5. refill my water (which I needed more of bc of the SALT in case I did not make that clear. She did however take the meal off our bill and take care of our check promptly. I will not be going back. I am sad as this place had potential but did not follow through with the burger I was craving or the service I needed to be a return customer.

    Went last evening with a couple of friends and had a very, very good meal. Amanda, our waitress, was delightful and attentive. I had a "Classic Caesar" salad for an appetizer and follwed that up with the "Delicious Duo" which is "two 3 oz. burgers (bison please) with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, dill pickle chips and their own mustard remoulade on brioche rolls. Damn, that hit the spot. Sith had the "Kitchen Sink" bison burger - always a crowd favorite. Perry the bison pot roast done to perfection. Very enjoyable.

    I love Ted's. Everything is fresh if there's a problem they fix it immediately. It is great comfort food done just the way I like it. Get the Bison it tastes great and has lower fat than the hamburger. OR, get the special for the day. VERY good chili too. Most importantly get the cookie. My fav is Peanut butter and they are fresh daily - yummy and chewy. Ask for Bianca she does a great job and is cheerful. They need more Ted's up here in the northern hinterlands!

    I went here because I had a coupon from one of the deal sites. I was kind of hoping it would be a nice spot that we can revisit often, but it wasn't really a kind of place I'd like to go back. The food was very different. Maybe I'm not used to the taste of Bison? But I didn't like it. Tasted kind of gamy, not my cut of steak! The atmosphere was nice though... the restaurant was very busy and the waiter was very accommodating.

    This is more like a 2.5 star rating, be weary of this place. So why would I go to an (always empty) chain restaurant that serves food I'm not particularly interested in? MEAT. I'll put this delicately, I'm one chicken breast a week away from being a vegetarian. I occasionally eat pork or fish. However, once a month when the moon is full, and the iron levels are low, you just want some MEAT. I don't know what the vegans do, iron supplements I guess. Lots of spinach. Anyway, it smelled so good from the outside, but we walked into an off-smelling nearly empty silent tomb-like restaurant. The hostesses/servers were not really into it either. We were sat at a gargantuan fake leather and pressboard booth with sad dim lighting. My husband surmised that this design is due to the American public wanting to "Feed" when they go to places like this. Tuck in and pig out in silence, swaddled and hidden in the fake leather booth. They specialize in Bison burgers, prices start at $13. So I got the Bison chili nachos. They were cold, and there was a cheez wiz style sauce on them. The chili/Bison meat was actually pretty good, but alas it was cold. My man got the regular hamburger sliders, they seemed to be steam/broiled, and were lacking flavor. The bun was a soggy mess. I enjoyed pigging out, but felt awful after. Next time I'll hit up Wendy's.

    It seems as if some of the reviewers here are dinging the place for being half empty...not really sure that should affect the review or rating...maybe if this place were further down route 2 or closer to 95 it would be busier...but I don't judge a restaurant on how busy they are - it's the food & service that I get that matter... I'm not tyically a fan of chain retaurants, but I have eaten at a few Ted's up and down the east coast - always pleased, never have had a bad meal...the Cranston location, although yes, pretty empty, sticks to the formula... One of the best things about Ted's is the kids menu - for $7, my daughter gets her pick of salmon, bison post roast or meatloaf, et al, plus some mashed potatoes and green beans...nice to take her out for a good meal to a place that has a quality kids menu... For adults, the burgers are all great - good size, and the bison is definitely the way to go...the beer can chicken is also pretty tasty... I have always had great service at this location - maybe due to the lack of customers - very attentive and at the ready... And you have to give Ted's credit for the eco-friendly angle (paper straws & tablecloths, et al)...

    We've been to Ted's a few times over the years since it opened. We've always had good meals there, and last night was no different from our previous outings. . . except last night it was only about half full. Every other time we've been in the past it's been full and we've had anywhere from a 10 to 30 minute wait. Last night, no wait, which was just fine with us. Anyway, the menu is chock full of burgers in either the beef or bison variety, and a fair selection of other entrees (fish, chicken, etc). Nothing too earth-shattering, but a decent, if not extensive, selection; didn't see much in the way of vegetarian selections, not that it's an issue for me. One thing that gets me, though, is the small selection of appetizers, but I guess I don't need an appetizer every time I eat out. Last night I had the "Green and Hot" bison burger, which had guacamole, jalapenos, and monterey jack cheese. It came out as ordered (medium), and was very tasty. My fiancee had the pecan crusted trout, which was a huge piece of fish, and which she said was quite yummy (I get to have the leftovers for lunch today, so I'm looking forward to tasting it as well). No problems for her when she wanted to switch out her sides either, to broccoli and a baked potato. Service was prompt, friendly, and efficient. Given that the place was only half full, we didn't expect anything less, though. Price was reasonable, considering we both had a couple of drinks and skipped dessert. Overall, not a bad place to grab a burger. Not sure if we would go out of our way to go here, but if we end up there again it wouldn't be the end of the world.

    Best burger in Rhode Island without question. The bison burger from Ted's is the finest meat burger available.. better than Crazy Burger, better than Ted's Steamed burgers in Meridan. I order the New Mexico and love the combination of Guacamole, chiles and cheese. I think the burgers come at a steep price, but end up being worth every penny.

    I was excited to go to Ted's because everyone told me the burgers (beef & bison) were great. When we arrived the restaurant was half empty (I saw at least 15-20 tables available) and told there would be a 15-20 minute wait. After about 15 minutes they sat us and our waitress came over to get drink orders, told us bread was in oven and would be out in 6 minutes. Nothing. Comes to take our order 10 minutes later and about 40 minutes later food came (and still no bread). She was very friendly, just not attentive AT ALL. Food was cold & one step above Applebee's and way over priced. I will not ever go back to Ted's.

    We visited Ted's again yesterday for a late lunch and overall we were very happy. Our server Carolyn was extremely friendly and attentive throughout our entire meal. She was also very patient as we had to wait 30 minutes for our 3rd member of our party to arrive. We ordered Sliders, Red Beans & Rice, a Breakfast Bison Burger, and Cobb Salad. As always everything was delicious, the Red Beans & Rice was some of the best I have ever had and you can't beat their bison burgers! The only downside is that Ted's is a little pricey, cookies although tasty are $2 a piece. Highly Recommend.

    We've been to Ted's many times and it is a really solid restaurant. I like the decor of the dining room, the quiet atmosphere and the lighting. I also like the "green" touches like the paper straws, compostable to-go cups, etc. I've always found the service to be good. I love the pickles that they bring out to start instead of a bread basket. I've also never had a bad meal. The burgers are bison or beef. I usually order beef and they are fantastic, the beef very fresh-tasting. They allow you to sub fries for any side order or one of their salad for $1 more. I appreciate it when places are flexible if you want to skip the fries and opt for a salad or vegetable without a hassle. We'll keep going back.

    I've passed by this establishment may times but never went inside. I finally decided to give it a try. The outside isn't very appealing but inside is very friendly, warm and welcoming. I wasn't disappointed with my meal. The chicken I had was excellent. The portion was bigger and cooked better than most establishments. The service was excellent. The price was on par with other establishments in the area. I would eat here again.

    This place continues to impress me and haven't had one bad meal here to date. The decor is nice and impressive and boarders on classy. But yet it's really not and I like that. Now I been to places you have to dress with and I'm OK with it. But on this day was out in about in board shirts and a t-shirt and I felt fine. The Staff is always friendly, on top of things, always asking how things are and to put it simple just plain excellent. On this day the one child had the Mac and cheese, my friend had the creek Burger and I had the snowcrest sandwich. All was good with fresh ingredients done just right. My friend raved about the bison Burger and was amazed on how juicy it was. Love the pickles they give you when you sit down as Well. Overall always an enjoyable pleasant time there and love the privacy you get when seated in a Booth. Go enjoy it and try one of there fresh made drinks they make and thank me later Lol.

    Arrived on Mother's Day around 7:00pm to a sparsely filled room for Mother's Day. Had to wait at the door a few minutes until a bus boy carrying a tower of plates noticed me and asked "will it be one?" Soon a greeter came by where the bus boy responded "it's only one" Promptly seated. The ambiance was pleasing. Upscale American western style. Very clean and spacious. Booths were nice for private dining. Waitress Kelsey was nice. Very attentive and professional. Small plate of tasty pickle chips. Yum! I ordered the 16oz prime rib medium with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus. The meat was tough. I had to check if I was using the correct side of the knife when cutting it. Very chewy. Not seasoned very well. Cut of meat could have been prepared better. After removing the fat the cut should have been a 12oz cut. Garlic mashed potatoes and gravy was great. The asparagus was a bit over cooked but had good flavor. Portion/price was appropriate. Was disappointed that a salad wasn't offered. For desert the fudge brownie. You can tell the brownie was made fr scratch which was a nice touch. The Kalua was a nice touch. Overall for a chain restaurant it was ok. I still prefer to order prime rib in non-chain restaurants. It probably won't stand out in my mind like the Old Mill in Westminster, MA but it's not bad for a mall restaurant. +1 for cloth napkins and unique tablecloths.

    Teds Montana Grill is consistently good (if you eat in), but a little overpriced. The service has been mostly consistent; and the burgers, salads (especially the Caesar with grilled chicken), and onion rings are always excellent. However, do beware of their take-out - it's horrible. I'm not sure if this has something to do with how the food is prepared (supposedly to order for each patron), or if it's the inefficiency of the staff; but it has never been right. I used to stop by once in a while after work on a weeknight to pick up something on the way home, but after several consecutive disasters I gave up. First of all, it seems as if the staff prepares the take-out orders only if they are not doing anything else. I once had to wait 45 minutes for a cup of soup and a salad to go. The pleasant and polite individual who usually works at the bar on weeknights is not very helpful in that regard - he just keeps saying "your order will be ready soon," or "I'm sorry, we are having a rush right now," or there is always some other excuse. Furthermore, my orders have ALWAYS been wrong - either something is missing or it was not prepared properly - such as undercooked or overcooked. The last time I ordered takeout from Ted's, I waited over a half hour; and part of the meal was missing (the vegetables), and the grilled salmon was almost raw. I had to throw it all in the garbage. Bottom line - good (but a little pricey) food if you eat in - but avoid the take out at all costs.

    First time by Teds. Drove by and looked good. Came for a late lunch. That may explain our experience. Service was good and quick. We had the green and hot bison burger and sky drive salad with salmon. Salad was good. Good portion. Salmon tasted smoked and had a great flavor unfortunately it was cold. Burger was ok. Kind of sloppy. Bison was fine. Fries were also cold. Onion rings were awesome though. Overall, place is ok. Maybe better when they are busier.

    Hands down the best burgers in the state. Usually I root for the "home teams" but nothing beats the taste of chomping into the juicy succulent taste of a Buffalo Burger from Ted's Montana Grill. In the few times I have been here I always seem to get the same waiter and I think he is just great. If you think you can sell a burger, you must test out this guy. I feel terrible not remembering his name. Don't leave with out trying a signature burger, and if you are a nacho fan the buffalo nachos were delicious too. Expect to pay for what you get, it's worth every penny.

    I somehow manage to end up at Ted's at least once a month, as it's definitely my favorite go-to chain restaurant (although it doesn't particularly have that sterile, chain-y feeling in my opinion). If you haven't tried it yet I recommend getting yourself down to those luxury-apartments-in-a-Shaw's-parking-lot-on-a-­hill-in-Cranston and rustle up yourself some classy cowboy fare. At least, I'm pretty sure that's what they're going for. Why? 1) The free homemade pickle chips are one of the best things I've ever tasted. They are actually recognizable as picked cucumbers, not soggy gross things out of a can. Amazing. We usually go through two bowls. 2) The homemade chips and dip appetizer. I was totally suspicious of this at first, but the BF apparently can't resist anything including the words "chips" or "dip" so we got it. The chips are, indeed, homemade and for the most part very good. As with anything that's actually homemade, some of them are hit or miss (a little burnt, a little soggy), but overall delicious and you can trick yourself into believing you're eating healthy potatoes. The dip is some sort of sour cream/garlic/chive goodness that's flavorful without being overpowering. 3) The actual entrees. I'm a fan of the burgers, the trout dish, and the prime rib. Even though it's their gimmick, I'm pretty "meh" about buffalo. Apparently it's better for you? But to be honest I can't taste the difference so for the higher price it's not worth it for me. Maybe more refined palates can differentiate between the two better than I can. There's usually no wait as the place is pretty big, and the service has been fabulous about 80% of the time. The one time we went and it was crowded the staff was clearly overwhelmed and the service suffered a bit, but that has only happened once in the 15+ times I've been there. So why four stars? It's a little on the pricey side, at least for what it is. An appetizer, two entrees, and two drinks and you're looking at $60 minimum. A slight decrease in prices and it would be 5 stars all the way.

    Went for the Bison Delmonico Ribeye.. was a bit nervous on the price as I looked the menu but out waitress talked it up. She was RIGHT. oh my, if you can discern bison from beef and know that bison is often overcooked because it is so lean, no fear here. Awesome redeat. Worth every penny. Loved onion ring app also. Bison burgers always good here as well. Come to Ted's for the best red meat: bison. You will pay a few more bucks but it is the best protein out there.

    Food is excellent. Our waiter... Not so much. When asked to see a dessert menu he told us "We really don't do desserts." WOW!!! Ended up with a huge strawberry short cake that was pretty good though. The food took forever, the waiter said it was because my husband order his steak medium well and it was a thick cut. Never heard that one before... It was pretty empty, but he and the others on that night were very inattentive to us. Anyway, my bison burger (when it finally came) was AWESOME!!!!! My husband mashed potatoes were as well. Would definatly try it again, maybe we just got a bad waiter/bad night or we'll just order take out next time.

    I really like Ted's but it's totally one of those places I always forget about. I have been 3 times now and enjoyed my meals, with the exception of one (will go into more detail). The first time I went I got drinks and their salt and pepper onion rings, which are amaaaazing! The second time I went I got the Big Sky Grilled Salad with a bison burger on top. SO GOOD. You simply have to try their bison. The last time I went I decided to go with an entree, so I went with the bison short ribs. They were just ok. The short rib itself was delicious, but the portion felt small. The sides of green beans and mashed potatoes were just ok, so overall I wasn't happy with my choice. One just ok meal isn't going to keep me away though. The staff at Ted's is excellent and they really know their stuff. The restaurant is a green restaurant, and they cook everything to order in small batches (the waitstaff will tell you all this at the beginning of your meal). Definitely try it out!

    Haven't been to this place in about 3 years and my wife talked me in to going back. I always considered this place decent until today. Our waitress gave the specials and one of them was prime rib medium rare. Yes please! Food came and it was awful. Prime rib was no where near medium rare. Not a spot of pink on it. It was well done and then some. It tasted like pot roast. The southwestern corn was dry as hell. I also got a side of broccoli, there was literally 3 florets and they were dry husks. I was with company so I did not feel like complaining to the waitress but I will not be going back here again, ever.

    Nightmare. We came here for my fiancés birthday and it was terrible. Service is usually painfully slow. Tonight we for everything together appetizers, salad, and main course. Same time all of it. My dinner was ice cold. He ordered beef ribs and got 1 small beef rib for $20. He was starving when he left. Dinner was $100 and we all left REALLY disappointed!
