OK so we just found this place. We had some time to kill as our daughter was getting her braces put on next door. Clean. Lovely waitress. Prompt service. A truly outstanding breakfast . I had the polenta special with poached eggs and home fries. Will definitely be back.

This is my neighborhood go to place for breakfast and dinner. Let's start with breakfast... I am an eggs Benedict snob and Gabriel's hits that mark each time!! My spouse always gets one of the omelettes with home fries ... Delicious and plentiful and you do not have to wait for a table. Full bar for a morning cocktail. Dinner... Where do I begin.. Appetizers.. I am not a big fan of Calamari but I will have some every time it is ordered when we come. My go to app is the Caprese Salad.... My favorite entree is the stuffed eggplant parmagine with gnocchi in pink Alfredo sauce. Can't go wrong with any of the veal dishes, chicken parmagine or the pork tenderloin. It is modernity priced and you always go home with a little something for lunch the next day!!! Definitely need to stop in and check it out. You will not regret it!!

Just wish it was a bigger place, not to big but bigger. I like eating at a place where you know the people who make your plate care about it,and it was obvious that all the people here do care. I really enjoyed my plate and my girlfriend enjoyed hers. We met the owners who were very gracious and pleasant. We will be going back.

Excellent Breakfast...best I've had in awhile. Don't ride by this hidden gem in a plaza on Phenix Ave in Cranston. Melt in your mouth blueberry pancakes.... Real home fries with caramelized onions! Service outstanding... Super clean everywhere we looked. We will be back!

A great welcome to Phenix Ave area of Cranston.. The service and food is excellent. This family owned restaurant will make you feel as a guest dining in their home. Three generations working together and sharing some of their favorite Italian dishes.

Best breakfast! Breakfast with an italian flare, everytime I go I have to get the sausage, rabe, provolone omlette, TOP NOTCH! They also brew local roaster Richard Allen Coffee which is the best. Staff is always friendly and very attentive, the place is always spotless and the food is always consistent. They have some very creative employees in the back that come up with some great food specials, Try the crepes! I haven't tried them for dinner but talk around town is they do it right.

After try to get in to multiple places on a Friday night I ended up at Gabriel's. Luckily there was a spot at the bar. Nice place and it was packed. I order the chicken marsala which came with a salad and a side of pasta. Everything was good... Not knock my socks off but if your looking for the Italian basics, for a great price this is definitely worth a stop.

Came for breakfast.... Excellent. Charlie was our server and she was wonderful. My mom was very picky and they made exactly what she wanted!! Picture is of the "Patriot waffle"... Just awesome. They also have a FULL a bar so a mimosas are a GO!! Not fancy, tshirt & jeans atmosphere - very comfortable. Worth trying and you don't have to wait like at Ts!!

Decided to try this little spot when my friend and I couldn't get parking at marchettis. We were so happy with that decision! Everything was great. The place is alittle small but very cute and looks amazing. We sat at the bar and the bartender was great! He recommended great food, was friendly, and even explained about there new breakfast they are doing. We both started with side salads. Loved the plates and that they used a spring mix. I got the grilled salmon for dinner, so good!!! My bartender recommended trying the squash as my side instead of mashed potatoes and they may be the best part of my night. So rich in flavor!!! For dessert I got there coffee gelato. Loved it. I was told it was from Italy. The presentation of the dessert was awesome. If my phone hadn't of died I would have posted it and checked in! Bathrooms were clean. Only thing that sucked was they don't have beer on tap. Can't wait to go and try their breakfast!

Our very first dinner at Gabriel's was such a pleasure. The welcoming ambiance of this cozy venue was quickly felt as we were greeted with smiles and brought to our seats. We had just missed the early bird specials which ended at 6:30PM, but were hungry enough to select from the regular menu. My husband ordered one of the special soups of the day which was Pasta Fagioli, while my cousin and I opted for the house salads. All were tasty and fresh and accompanied by Italian sliced bread with olive oil, grated cheese, and red pepper flakes. The first course was most delightful. Just enough time elapsed and there appeared our lovely server with our three entrees; Heavenly Veal and Spinach with a sherry sauce, delicious Eggplant Parmigiana, and rich-tasting yet light Gnocchi Vodka which made each of us extremely happy. The vegetables served were well-cooked and perfectly seasoned. Of course, we all had leftovers!!! Understandably, there was no room for dessert - at least not this time. Looking forward to trying breakfast and returning for lunch or dinner in the near future!

Breakfast. We got the ham and cheese frittata and the Mediterranean omelette. Both were very good. We split the pumpkin pancake and that was excellent. Light and fluffy. Two omelettes. Two coffees. And 1 pancake came out to $28. It was a good solid breakfast. Service. Wait staff was excellent and on point. Overall. I would definitely go back again. It is the best of the knightsville breakfast spots.

This was our first visit to Gabriele's, as a "let's stop and check it out" as we were driving through Cranston, RI. It was more of a late lunch-early dinner for my husband and I. We were greeted warmly and with enthusiasm as we walked in. It is a cozy place with a low-key vibe and casual atmosphere. The food was wonderfully fresh and flavorful without masking the main ingredient of the dish. My husband had the Chicken Francaise and I had the Stuffed Eggplant with Spinach and Sharp Provolone, both served with homemade gnochhi which were as light as air. I couldn't stop eating them. Usually they're like lead sinkers, but they outdid themselves with such a simple staple for great pasta. They cook a mean Italian meal from the freshly made soups to the sublime deserts that are the perfect touch to an outstanding meal. Our waitress was Diane and she was absolutely fun and helpful with our meal choices. We will ask for her again on our next visit.

Gabriel's is one of Cranston's hidden gems. Delicious, authentic italian entrees, prepared with care and incorporating quality ingredients. I've had the pork loin (which is actually two huge, center-cut chops) and the salmon. Both were delicious. For sides, get the rabe and the polenta when you can---some of the best I've had! The chef and owner is personable and warm, and his wife, who works front-of-house and helps develop the menu, will go out of her way to make sure that you leave satisfied with the food and the service. The atmosphere is intimate...this is not a place for large groups! Great food, great atmosphere, reasonable price. Try it, and you'll definitely visit again!

Came here for breakfast this morning. Nothing bad whatsoever I can say about this place!! Great, varied menus including frittatas, pumpkin pancakes, and speciality benedicts! All made with fresh ingredients! Bloody Mary's and mimosas with fresh squeezed orange juice! I personally had a veggie frittata and a few orange mimosas and thoroughly enjoyed everything I had! Friendly servers and hostess!!! I'm proud and happy to support this family run, local business.

Cozy atmosphere. You get way more than what you pay for. On Fridays they serve the most amazing stuffies! The mix is packed with all the good stuff. Margaritas made by Chris were also on point. I forgot to ask for no red sauce on my side of pasta. Cara brought me a new side of plain pasta without even asking. They now serve breakfast and I cannot wait to try it.

Expected much better for the caliber of other area restaurants. My wife went for lunch and said it was good but when we tried diner- no so much. The salad dressing appeared to be straight vinegar- very tart, the red sauce was bland, the lemon chicken was swimming in a moat of gravy, the eggplant parm. was soggy. It was a Saturday night so I would expect the best chef to be on. Wait staff was adequate and hostess very pleasant ( wife of owner?). I do hope our experience was not typical.

I've been to Gabriel's twice in the last 3 weeks, and I've loved it both times. We ate at the bar, which was surprisingly comfortable - great barstools for comfort, not just looks. In fact, the entire decor is so much more sophisticated and Euro-modern than the previous restaurant in this location - loved it. The service was pleasant and attentive. The calamari appetizer was ridiculously good with a light crispy texture and a well-balanced sweet balsamic sauce with hot peppers. I had the sicilian fish dish and my friend had salmon - both ample portions and perfectly developed flavors. The second time I had an alfredo entree with chicken and broccoli added - very light and obviously freshly made. My friend had broccoli rabe and said it was incredible. There were also several cocktails tested with no complaints. Ask Chris the bartender to make you his special chocolate dessert martini - you won't miss dessert.

This place is amazing!!!! I can't believe people have bad reviews on here. This is our favorite place. My husband, my son and I come here every week. Sometimes twice a week and we always bring new people here and they love it also. The food is excellent. Haven't had a bad meal yet! The service is great and they always remember our order. This place is the best. Try it out

WOW I read all the good reviews. The people who gave good reviews do NOT know Italian food. The food is at best fair. The place only cares about shortcuts. Examples: 1. Bread came out was Microwaved!!. Unbelievable!! 2. Canned mushrooms in Chicken Marsala 3. Canned chopped mini olives in snail salad 4. Asked bus boy for water then bus boy asked others at table if they wanted water instead of just filling it 5. Italian restaurant without one dish with fish and pasta

We love it ! We eat here weekly ever since our first time trying it. We tried most items on the menu and have not been disappointed . I have to say our favorite dishes are the baked fish with seafood topping, eggplant and calamari . My son loves the gnocchi with pink vodka sauce. We ask for Cara for our waitress whenever we go, she is the owners daughter. The service and food are fantastic. We will continue to go to Gabriel's it is our new hot spot.

Had lunch there this Saturday - really enjoyed the food. We had sandwiches, salads, sweet potato fries, etc. Sandwichs and fries were served hot and were VERY good. The only issue was the service - our waiter (the only server on at the time) was rude, abrupt and didn't crack a smile the whole time we were there. He never came to our table to see if we were happy with our food (we were). He decided to clear our table while we were still eating and took my companion's fries while she was in the middle of taking a bite of her sandwich. I would return, but would absolutely refuse to have the same waiter serve us again. I wish the guy had stayed home, he clearly was not in the mood to be at work yesterday.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
