I used to work at Voith Siemens in IT and this was about a mile away, so I've eaten here dozens of times in the last 5 years. My girlfriend always gets the crab bowl with cheese. I love the pizza there and the mozzarella sticks are pretty good. The item there I get on a really hungry day is the chicken parm sub, which is a packed, packed sandwich and will satisfy anyone's appetite. The meatball subs are pretty good as well. The I did a search for "pizza" and this came up in the mid-20's. I don't think so. Genova's is the best pizza/subs shop on the west side of York county. Touch of Italy rocks the east side. Marcello's is a slight step down (I worked at the one in West York when in college). I've only really had pizza at Ninos, and have only had a few subs from Vitos. Genova's is my all around best italian sub/pizza joint in all of York County. My top vote for Italian dishes would be the Moonlight Cafe in Dover. They have a few TVs, so I like going in and relaxing while checking out some sports. It's been awhile now since I got a pizza from them, well, this post makes me want to get one this weekend! The only downside is that they are about the last thing on Market street before it turns into Ohio, so they don't deliver. I live in the city and if they delivered, it would be bad news for my health.

I likey Genova's....family style pizza joint with the standard Italian dishes. They have a decent salad bar which is hard to come by in York and I love their garlic bread freshly baked and hot out of the oven (see the picture attached it's twisted) They also bake their rolls for subs and if you prefer the standard crunchy garlic bread they use the sub rolls for the crunchy style. I understand they can get busy when the York Fair Grounds is hopping so you might not get a table but you can order on the fly and pickup through the drive thru.

I was jonesing for a pizza after eating Paleo all week and Yelp! took me here since I was on the West side of town. Looks like a nice old mom and pop sort of Italian restaurant with a drive up window for take out pizza and off sale beer. The off sale beer is very important because PA has draconian beer laws with off sale being the only place to buy a 6 pack. They do have beer stores but you can only buy it by the case! Anyway, the pizza was decent although not the best or even top ten pies I have eaten. Weird flat sausage - is that a PA thing because I like my sausage in chunks. The folks eating in the restaurant were all over 100 years old and cannot taste anymore so I am not sure that is a good sign for Italian dining here. I would probably try a different place if I am ever in York again (God forbid!).

This is my favorite pizza place in York. I live out of the delivery area so if I am willing to drive to grab a pie from these guys instead of ordering from a nearby pizza place, you know it's worth it.

Meh. Genova's has been around for a long time, in West York and in Spring Grove. From childhood to now I've probably eat Genova's 100+ times. Sometimes it is fantastic - like top 5 italian subs of your life fantastic. Then the next time you get one and it has wilted lettuce and soggy bread. Pizza is normally decent. Wings range from awesome to grease pit. They're normally better than the chains but their inconsistency is kind of disappointing for how long they've been around.

Took my crew here after a shoot based on Yelp reviews... Service was a little slow considering it was after the lunch rush and we were pretty much the only folks in the place... The subs were great - so were the fries and ice cold drinks...I'd go back!

the place was decent, nice and clean. spacious and they have a counter for pick up (which is the typical way we get food). it took me a moment to warm up to the food. I know they are well known for their subs and pizzas, but had to have spaghetti! their servings are huge! even the lunch sizes! the sauce was a bit on the tart side. the meatballs were delicious and tender. the sausages were cut lengthwise and seemed a bit peppery. after I added my parm cheese and cut up the meat, the spaghetti was wonderful! and after eating the garlic bread & pasta, I was full and still had a full serving to take home for later! (oh yeah, and it comes witha side salad! how sweet is that?!) the cheese calzone... we mentioned bacon and they said they could add it. wow, so they really do make it here?! and it was wonderful!! the ricotta cheese makes it both light and rich. so hard to explain. and it has that wonderful touch of sweetness that ricotta has! and the bacon... you could taste it in every bite!! wow. and the service... top notch! the guys alternated to refill drinks, bring additional items, and make sure everything was set. not a pish-posh place, but wonderfully comforting. soon to become an old reliable! :o)
