We recently had the opportunity to participate in a hilarious (and sometimes wild) scavenger hunt carousal with a local school district. I'd better not mention the name. (: The event was setup in such a way that large groups of random teachers would stop by Santino's to retrieve their clue which would then take them to their next destination. Obtaining these clues meant doing charades, skits, dancing and more. That said: kudos and many thanks to Santino's for hosting and allowing us to hang out for over four hours without obligation. I will not eat from a public salad bar. NoPe, never gonna do it, and yes, I have wicked germ phobia. I can't imagine consuming food from a spot where guests are breathing over vegetables and touching the serving utensils. Dee did have the salad bar and he appreciated the fresh baby spinach along with the variety of other green vegetables. This sort of thing can be tricky in Berks as most places merely have iceberg lettuce and a lot of prepared salads dripping in mayonnaise. Santino's got it right and according to Dee, could easily give Arner's a run for their money. I had the Bruschetta with a small plate of spaghetti; yum, almost as good as mom's. Dee had the eggplant special and we were both very happy with everything. We arrived early so we could get things in order and this place was packed at 4:00 in the afternoon; recession? The folksy, unpretentious Wyomissing regulars hang out here. If you enjoy beer, Santino's has a decent beer selection though Dee was mostly reminiscently, sipping Sam Adams Summer Ale and yearning for our Boston days for most of the evening. Thanks again to Santino's for having us. I had not been here before Friday night and will most definitely visit again.

I have been a long time customer of this restaurant (20+years) and really was disappointed with Santinos during this last visit. I guess it should have been a warning sign when there were more people drinking in the bar than sitting in the restaurant. We stopped by with 2 adults and 2 children for a early dinner. We ended up sending two of the dinners back, my son sent his cheeseburger back due to a stale roll on a under cooked nasty cheeseburger. My girlfriend ordered the lasagna which arrived drowning in a heavy coating of red sauce and topped with over broiled cheese, when she tasted the serving it was mostly rubbery cheese and hardly any noodles, not close to being fresh. My daughter ordered the chicken finger dinner - OK, can't mess that up. I ordered my old standby the veal steak dinner, which is one of their signature dinners, this meal is a huge piece of veal which covers the whole plate from end to end on a oval plate with pasta on the side. But they switched from the standard Italian bread crumbs to the panko bread crumbs which are not the way to do a thinly sliced piece of veal, way too much crunch. It seems like they switched meat suppliers the veal has a odd texture not really any grain to the veal. The meat was topped with 2 very thin almost paper thin slices of cheese and red sauce which was overcooked did not taste fresh and bright. At least the ALYCE salad bar was fresh and clean, the homemade bread was a little stale from sitting out , but the waitress brought out a plate warm of fresh bread to make up for it. I cannot say anything bad about the wait staff here most of the girls have been here for years and the manager comped both of the meals. Someone is not managing the kitchen to let that much subpar food be sent out across the counter.

I ordered food to go one evening for 4 people. Overall, the food was great. I was pleasantly surprised. I ate here several years ago and had an awful experience, however, I am glad I made the decision to go back.

Santino's has a bar and a restaurant. We stopped in for pitchers, pizza, and wings. The wings were pretty good. We got mild and it had some zip to it. The pizza is delicious too. Basic new york style. It's a place for both families and friends. It has a group atmosphere and very relaxed. It's basic but it has the ingredients for a decent meal and a good time.

Great pizza and stromboli, nice salad bar consistent service, decent beer selection. Parking a bit tight but just because they are busy. Dining area, bar and takeout counter are all separate which is nice. Solid 4 stars.

I opted for the all-you-can-eat salad bar. Limited choices but very tasty. Love the beets/onion salad, yum. Fresh mozzarella cheese, and a good variety of dressings. Nice place, nice people.

Santino's is our fallback option because of proximity. When we are baby sitting our 3 year old grandson, we usually goto Santino's, a good family restaurant. The pizza is good, everything else is okay. Prices are quite reasonable. We've eaten there more than 50 times over the years, which is a statement in itself. Santino's is a good place to go when you have a crowd of 8 or so and plan on eating, drinking and talking for a couple of hours.

I don't understand this place at all. The pizza passes but everything else on the menu is boring. The place is outdated, the food is tasteless and everything is overpriced. The only thing keeping this place going is the bar. I've lived in the area all my life and don't understand why Santinos is still here. I guess it's just become a staple of the neighborhood- but please save your money and go elsewhere. Went here again and got the pesto tortellini. Way too much oil in the dish. It was almost inedible. Just avoid this place completely.

Cook prepared the worst chicken picata I have ever had. They used mushrooms and mushroom sauce. Ultra thin slices of chicken, no breading, no capers and probably no wine. Chicken picata is the only thing I have tried there, but recommend completely avoiding it.

Delicious! And great prices! The portions are huge and the food is delicious. Cant beat great food for such awesome prices. We tried the veal steak- must try! It was cooked perfectly and is 2 meals in itself! The steak is so big that it dosnt fit on the plate. Also tried the veal saltambucca, I would def have that again too!

We go here for birthday celebrations year after year. The food is always delicious and the staff is always friendly. Try the tiramisu! I can't leave without having it!

Totally gross pizza. I guess it passes for good in Berks, but the sauce tastes like stale seasonings and the crust doesn't taste like anything and is always too thick. Had a cheesesteak here before too and it was gross too. What is with Berks County restaurants putting sauce on cheesesteaks? That's a pizza steak, NOT a philly cheesesteak. Ick. Take me back to Montco.

Pizza here is really good and beer specials are cheap. Can't go wrong with $1.50 beers! They sell the pizza in slices at the bar at night (until they run out), but you can also buy them whole during the day and eat there or take out.

Most of the time the pizza is good. Pasta dishes aren't too bad. cost of a mixed drink is very high and the bar is like sitting in the middle of a horse auction. Pretty local crowd who seem to think everyone in the bar needs to hear what they are saying, add that to the blaring TV. To be fair, it maybe a Berks county thing, many folks here are loud talkers.

Some of the best Italian available outside Little Italy! We have been to Santino's many, many, many times over the past decade, and the food is always incredible. We usually get the salad bar and a pasta dish, and have never once been disappointed. The pastas are always delicious, the sauces pass muster for someone from an Italian background, and the salad makings are always fresh. Actually, Santino's sauces are better than some from my hometown. Their gnocchi and chicken saltimbocca are not to be missed. Hubby just said "their meatballs are amazing, made from hand-patted meat and love". Their marinara and meat sauces are a outstanding. Geez! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! We've grabbed their pizza before when on the run, and it is also very good. Love the bruschetta, too. The waitresses are some of the best in the business. If you are lucky enough to be near Santino's, stop in. You won't be disappointed!
