Awesome place...food was good. Our server was funny. We don't hve Friendly's in California..one of my favorite spots to eat at whenever I'm in Pennsylvania. My only complaint is that it's small inside.

In general, for a mostly Northeastern chain, Friendly's is decent. Their ice cream isn't absolutely remarkable. But the way they dress it up and the options they give you can make for a more than passable sundae or other treat. In comparison with the ice cream you would get at The Berkey Creamery, Meyer's Derry, or Savannah's Candy Kitchen, Friendly's will fall short. But for an after dinner choice, it is good and convenient. They also make a really decent burger. But on this occasion, I really needed to eat on the lite side. I had a big lunch on this day. I ordered the chicken salad. It comes with little bits of tortilla, corn chips, bits of breaded crispy chicken, and a recommended mustard dressing. First, the salad is pretty big. Second, everything tasted great together. I am not sure with all the ingredients that it was as lite as I wanted. But, it was really tasty. I thought I would be a little jealous of the burger, and chicken snadwiches everyone else ordered. Not so. This salad was really good. Even the festive coloring of the corn chips put me in a good mood. After that, came the dessert. We got the make your own meal selections. This comes with a choice of certain entrees, a drink, and a sundae. I got the butter pecan with a topping of almonds. It was a super foods kinda night for me. It all certainly tasted super. Our waitress was very friendly, as the name suggests. She did well especially with the fact that this was a table that seated my preggers oldest daughter, my wife, the three headed kid monster, and myself. The restaraunt is a little on the small side. It doesn't seat large famillies very comfortably. It's probably the smallest Friendly's I have been in. Also, it seems to take a while to get your orders. Not extremelty long. But on this night, the place wasn't very busy so I am surprised at the time it took to get the food. But, again, everything was good. Three stars is a good rating from me for a chain. I will probably make a return trip, here, someday.

I went here the second time with my brother and boyfriend because they have really good deals on burgers and desserts espicially for this location. It's quiet and the staff are very nice and not in your face abut their customer service! Will come again when I visit Reading!

This location is OK. The food is the same as any other location. What makes this location different from the others I've visited is that this one has miniaturized booths. Seriously, all the booths and tables and even the rest rooms are tiny. Very good ice cream.

This was not our first time at this location and usually it is always a good experience. It's usually a hit or miss with seating, sometimes it's jammed and others it's empty. It was pretty quiet when we were seated. We told the waitress it would be an appetizer and dessert visit so no need for regular menus, not problems yet.. Drinks and munch-a-mania came out with no problem. After a little while she came back to collect our dessert order, in which I said I'll take a wrap instead. I've been here enough to not need a menu to order that.. So she comes back to take our plates and deliver ice cream to my partner and makes a comment I sound have thought more about. "O your sandwich or wrap, which ever will be out soon" why would I think much of that, until I received a chicken sandwich... Hmm, so quick to drop if off I didn't get a chance to tell her then it was a mistake. What bothered me was when I did say something, I was given an attitude like it was my fault. And the solution was, "do you want me yo take it back". gee, I spent how long waiting for it in the first place... So being nice I said no, explaining that I just wanted her to know it was wrong. We'll that went no where, the unspoken reaction pretty much was "Good, I messed up but who cares..." So that combined with the long wait to get drink refills despite visiting our table multiple times equals 3 stars.. I think I'll be going to the Lancaster ave location for now on.

Through the years, I've always been a big fan of Friendly's---especially their ice cream. However, these days there seem to be fewer and fewer of them around. So...when we were in the area and spotted one, our daughter said she would like to have dinner there. We were seated immediately on a Saturday evening around 7:30 p.m. The menu had changed since I last ate at one. However, the important things were still there---I'm talking about Fribbles and sundaes LOL! We each had a big beef burger. I had mine on a pretzel roll. It was OK but a bit too filling and a bit too greasy. I didn't eat it all. After all, it was important to leave room for dessert LOL. I mean, here we are at Friendly's and Friendly's has always been about the ice cream :) We had a very friendly (no pun intended!) server who was also prompt. I remark on this because service at Friendly's can sometimes be erratic. We enjoyed our desserts---they were the highlight of the meal. My daughter and I had hot fudge sundaes and my husband had a Fribble. We hadn't had Friendly's ice cream in ages so we felt free to indulge without feeling guilty.

I was in the area with my parents checking out some places to rent. Living in Arizona we don't have Friendly's, so it was a must for me to eat there while back on the east coast. We went around 7:30 and were seated right away. The service was prompt and efficient, food was just as tasty as I remember, but the floor was a mess. Seriously, it wasn't just in one area, there was debris everywhere! If they don't take care of the dining room what else aren't they caring for? Hmm...Better not to think of it like that I guess. I was great to get to eat a Friendly's again. The Hot Fudge Sundae was spectacular and my burger was so big I couldn't finish it all! Overall it was a great experience!

Good food, bad service. We were here 4:30 on a Friday and it was DEAD. Now I know why walked in the door no host/hostess. When she finally arrived Sever seated us and we waited 5-10 mins for waitress. Food came, pretty quick and was decent. But didn't makeup for the bad service.
