My husband and I were disappointed with our experience at Teresa's. We went on a Sunday night, when there was hardly anyone there, and the service was very slow. We finished our cheese appetizer before we got our drinks. The Bolognese was not very good at all. It tasted like they used pizza sauce and just tossed in some cooked ground meat. Very little flavor. The pasta was also overcooked. I don't think we'll be going back.

This is probably my favorite restaurant in downtown Wayne. Sophisticated yet casual; not cheap, but still relatively affordable. Trendy Italian/American food. They'll make simple things for kids that are still delicious, and there's a lot of interesting things on the menu for just about everyone (pasta, pizza, meat, salads). Tends to be crowded and noisy, so try to come during off-hours (not on weekend nights, basically) if possible.

We sat outside the other night at Teresa's. It was the Italian menu. We usually go to Teresa's next door, it's our families go to restaurant for all occasions. But the service and food outside with the Teresa's menu was delightful. We had the trio of clams appetizer and shared the chicken Parmesan entree. Wine and beer. We stayed under our designated calories and had our dining budget and it was a sweet romantic dinner. I highly recommend the sidewalks of Wayne. Sort of like Paris.

Anyone whose from King of Prussia, Wayne area knows about Theresa's. If you're a beer snob, you'll love this place. The "Next door" side has a magnificent 50 foot wall of floor to ceiling beer glasses. I swear they scout out these glasses like it's their full time job. Although it may seem excessive when you walk in, it's totally cool to order a beer and get it in the glass it was made for. The food is delicious. We ordered the baby rabbit for appetizer and it was so good! Although I felt a little guilty with how much I enjoyed it, I'd definitely order baby rabbit again. For dinner, I got the tacos which came with a brilliant corn salsa. So good! The "Cafe" side is nice - the Italian food/wine bar. It's more of a happy hour type atmosphere if you ask me but it's nice! They have a slightly different menu, cheese plates, etc. Would definitely recommend Theresa's to anyone in the area.

Great nook in Wayne PA to hangout over a glass of wine and some nicely prepared Italian food. Closer to a wine bar than a restaurant, Teresa's (not to be confused with Teresa's Next Door, the Monk's knock-off for the Main Line, located, well, next door) has a nice hip ambiance, a great wine selection, and mussels prepared in a spicy tomato based broth which are very good. My paleo diet went out the window again, not because of the mussels, but because of the epic bread dipping in the mussel broth. Back to the treadmill.

Loved our bartender Brian, who should really consider going back to civil engineering. Food left us wanting, and the ambience is utilitarian. Would only come back to see you again, Brian!

One of the things I love most about Teresa's Cafe and Teresa's Next Door is the lack of pretentiousness and the playfulness of the menus. These two joints lead with their amazing food and exemplary customer service, which makes them hugely successful by my accord. Service and dinner yesterday evening were both exquisite. Service - 5 out of 5 Ann, our Server, was positively wonderful. She was very helpful and always there when we needed something, without being obtrusive. She split our salad on to two plates, refilled our water regularly, crumbed the table in between courses, answered our questions about the menu satisfactorily, and gave us plenty of time to enjoy our meal. If the restaurants of the world had more Anns, the world would be a far better place! Burrata Bomb - 5 out of 5 A delicious rounded sack of mozzarella, fried so the center was oozing and the outside was nicely crispy from the bread crumbs. It was basking in a sea of marinara. The marinara was one of, if not, the best I've tried. Delicious! Bruschetta with Herb Goat Cheese, Sliced Beets, and Chile Honey - 3.5 out of 5 Good! I probably would have preferred the traditional, but it was nice to try something new. Barbabietole Salad (Roasted Beets, Goat Cheese, Pistachios, Field Greens, and Balsamic) - 4 out of 5 Fettuccine Bolognese (Pork, Beef and Veal Ragu simmered with Tomatoes) - 4 out of 5 Very good, but it would have been excellent with an optional hot pepper or Sriracha. Fusilli Emiliani (Cremini and Maitake Mushrooms, Prosciutto, Basil Pesto, and Cream) - 5 out of 5 I ordered this dish with spaghetti squash in lieu of pasta. It arrived to the table piping hot with an ethereal aroma of mushrooms, chips of prosciutto, and lush basil cream. It was everything I'd hoped for in a decadent pasta, but it needed a bit more salt to round out the flavors. Mostly Cookies (Oatmeal Wafer, Pignoli Cookie, Speculoos Vanilla Butter Cream Sandwich, White Chocolate-Dipped Marble Biscotti, Chocolate Salted Caramel, Dark Chocolate-Pistachio Truffle and Crack) - 5 out of 5 We were super impressed by the new pastry chefs' rendition of a cookie plate. I felt like I was at a Christmas party and there were arrays of cookies, and I could pick a few to sample. Luckily, we only had to share between the two of us, so we each took bites out of all of the cookies and enjoyed the surprise and variety in each. It was immediately apparent how much thought went into each confection. For example, the Speculoos Vanilla Butter Cream Sandwich was a unique twist on a cream-filled cookie. The salted caramel was pure ecstasy. We both agreed that we would return just for the cookie plate. In summary, go!

My wife is allergic to spices. We made this very clear to our waiter, even giving him examples of common spices, and he assured us that what my wife ordered could be made and would be made without any spices. When our food comes out, there are some specks in my wife's food, she asks if it is pepper, since black pepper was one of the spices she told him that she absolutely can't eat without a very serious adverse reaction, and he said "oh, no, there's no black pepper in that, that's oregano." So my wife has a few bites... And then it starts to hit her. The specks were not oregano... They were black pepper. Shame on us for trusting him, shame on me for not tasting it before she had any. We will not be going back.

I have visited here several times in the last 5 years, but not since the renovations. I think Teresa's has lost a little soul in both the decor and the food. The decor is modern - industrial, spare, lean, but warm colors. The bar is totally new, this place used to be BYOB, then it added wine, now it has a wife bar, and you can get mixed drinks and beer, they just carry them in from Teresa's Next Door. The wine list is nice, and several are by the glass. The food, however, was a disappointment. It feels like someone who doesn't have experience with Italian food is in the kitchen. I had the orrechiette pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe. The components must have been cooked separately, a no-no. Nothing blended together, and there was no nice rich chicken-stock, sausage and garlic-based sauce underneath. The orechiette is supposed to collect droplets of yummy sauce in it, that's why it's used in this dish. The sausage, as it cooks, is supposed to release its flavor into the sauce. You get the idea. I am getting hungry as I write this. I also had the mushroomy bruschetta as an appetizer. I asked how many on a plate and the waiter said one big 3 by 5 piece. I thought, um, I have always picked up a nice small whole piece of it in my hand and eaten it in one or two bites. This one was weird, you had to use a fork and knife. I don't know if the following analogy is appropriate, but think of one mega-gigantic french fry on your plate that you cut with a fork and knife. Hmmmm. The taste of the mega-bruschetta was ok. Service was efficient and great.

Very hip and upbeat place. Waiters wore what seemed like "street clothes", which gave a very laid back environment. The Menu's were made out of Marble notebooks which gave me a feel they were looking to cater to the colleges near by haha. I sat in the "italian Cafe" section, because there were 2 different restaurants in one restaurant? I didn't really understand that concept, but it seemed to work for them. The food was very fresh. Tomato sauce was perfectly seasoned and it was very fresh. I had linguini and clams which tasted how it should (Most places don't make it properly!) have and Tiramisu was fresh and clearly homemade. I don't live in the area but will re-visit when I get the chance. I wanted to try their pizza special but decided to skip. Everyone loved it so try it if you decide to go!

Great location and food. Teresa's underwent a major renovation last year, and made some slight modifications to their menu. The new space has sound absorbent walls making the ambiance much quieter. Staff is very friendly and they know their trade well. They have some wonderful pasta dishes, but my favorite was removed last month. Still they have excellent rosemary chicken and their arugula salad is great. The buratta bomb is a must. You can also order beer from the massive selection at their Next Door location giving you the best of both worlds, They have a great selection of cheese, cold cuts, and bruschetta/.

Pros: Decor was really neat! (even the bathroom!) And even though every table was occupied, it wasn't too loud, and easy to hear each other talk. The quality of the crust on the pizza was pretty good. My friend enjoyed her meal- bruschetta and the salad special Cons: Waiter was kind of rude and cocky, I did appreciate his honesty in saying that the margharita pizza . Ordered the goat cheese pizza with caramelized onions, roasted peppers, and mushrooms. The proportions of ingredients was way off first of all. Although I enjoy a thin crust, this crust was so paper thin in the middle that it made the middle of the pizza soggy and just taste like goat cheese. Second, there was way way too much goat cheese, which also was not of great quality- tasted grainy and sour, not smooth, tart, and creamy (in my opinion). The vegetables were good but the pizza could have used twice as many if the crust were a little more sturdy in the middle. Ultimately, this pizza was just pretty boring. I thought it would be exciting since the waiter said I should order this one if I wanted to be adventurous, but was definitely not much of an adventure. I might return to try a pasta dish, as those looked good as they were coming out to other customers.

I am in town for the week, first trip here. My friend suggested Teresa's (the beer one) and we went the other night and it was great, so I thought I would go back and try the Italian side. Let me start with, I looked at the menu online and was dying for a Caprese salad (on the online menu). Seriously one of the reasons I went there. I got there and the two twelve year olds manning the hostess station had no idea what they were doing....after they finally managed to seat me, it was a good 5-10 minutes before a waitress came over. Once she did and found out I wasn't ordering alcohol, she wasn't quite so nice. I didn't see the Caprese salad on the menu and when I asked if they had it since I saw it on the online menu they said no (update your online menu!!!). I ordered the eggplant, and when it came I could not believe how small it was. Literally three small slices of eggplant with spinach, tomatoes and cheese for $18. I'm still hungry as I sit here writing this. Super disappointed.

Came here for a few drinks on Saturday night, was only able to get a table before 10PM if we ordered food (ate a ton before coming!) so our party of 5 was seated. I only had a glass of wine. Our waitress was pretty attentive. My boyfriend and sister's boyfriend ordered a ton of beers - from the list, looks like they have a wide selection! Thought the cheese plates were okay. The scallops looked delicious but I didn't end up tasting any of it. Overall, a good place in Wayne to have a few drinks, specifically beers.

I've been wanting to try Teresa's Cafe for a while now and it didn't disappoint. We came on a Friday night, and while it was packed, we were able to get a table right away. The service was a little slow. I think we sat around for 15 minutes waiting for our server to take our order, but he was nice enough overall and the food was excellent. I ended up getting the salad on the special menus--arugula, strawberries and cheese with a raspberry vinaigrette. They should put it on the regular menu. We also got two pizzas--the margherita and francese. Both so good with super thin crust just the way I like them. When I first walked in and saw everyone with their wine bottles, I forgot Teresa's Cafe was BYOB, but luckily if you forget like I did, you can still get drinks sent over from Teresa's Next Door, and fyi, their beer menu is huuuuge.

Teresa's Cafe (neighbor to the appropriately-named Teresa's Next Door) has been recommended for some time, for good reason: they cook up solid Italian fare with no fuss. Our entrees came out wicked fast. My penne arrabiata had an agreeable sauce, but its spicy sausage wasn't as hot as I thought they'd be. Luckily, the penne still was "piccante" thanks to meaty jalapenos. If they still offer it, try their outstanding lobster ravioli special. Skipping dessert, we had wine: my South African Sauvignon blanc ($7), Vrede en Lust (2006) was as fruity as advertised, with a touch of cut grass (!), and my associate enjoyed her Australian Riesling. Their well-lit dining room hosts a healthy crowd, even Mondays, so make reservations to be safe. (It can get loud, so speak up!) Even with the crowd, server Luis provided good service, never rushing us.

This place is 1/2 Belgian, 1/2 Italian and we sat outside at tables which were close together and ordered from the Italian menu. We ordered drinks (I noticed that Merlot only came by the bottle, so I got a Syrah?). I got this (AND ALSO) a vintage sort of bottle came out filled with water and a skinny little glass as well. So water and wine both to drink! The food: we got a four piece appetizer ...I tried with one covered with tomato (fresh tomato)....and also tried the spring salad greens (seasoned with vinagrette). Entrees....pasta, pasta, pasta....fettucine with pesto and chicken was one, fettucine with mussels and I got the spaghetti with diced tomatoes and pecorina cheese. Dessert...we split the s'more dish. Marshmallow with chocolate and an ice cream type middle....very excellent! Our waitress was very fast and very friendly. It was a tad expensive but our own fault for getting too much. As a side note, there is a whole section of different cheeses listed on the menu. In other words, the cheese section alone gets its own little section of the menu. Just in case cheese alone is what you want to eat. Never saw this before!

Great beer selection, some of my favorites ..... But $9 bucks for 4 little mozzarella sticks?!?!? NO WAY! I had takeout and unfortunately noticed it while stuck in 76 traffic. If not I would've turned around and demanded more! aaaahhhhhhhhhh

Went there last night with friend and we sat outside. Our order was incorrect the first time, though we both got the same exact thing. When the correct food finally did come out after having to eat bread and oil for over 35 minutes (though that was tasty), the food was GREAT and we were very happy. However, I would have liked if my server was the person I first told about having the wrong plate dropped at the table. I also would have liked it if I had at least just seen a manager walking around. I saw very little of both my server or any kind of management, unfortunately. The hostess did a great job of informing our server our order was incorrect, and things were fixed correctly, no problem. Just would have liked to visually see my server more and have her come to the table more often to check on things. Other than that, the food was good and our server´s recommendation to try the scallops on our salad was a great suggestion.

Back in the day I loved Teresas...then the food became average, Arde opened across the street, (shocker competition) and the wait staff became even more sub par. Whomever was the Friday night manager needs to be fired. When you arrive 20 minutes EARLY for a reservation and check in & say "we are going to have a drink before we sit" id advise you NOT to say "well there are people with reservations after you" no sh** sherlock. we're here early, want a drink and will sit by our reservation time. save those comments for when its our reservation time. again wait staff is average and hostesses have no clue whats going on. v sad, so much potential...

What??? I can't hear you! By far one of the best places to eat in downtown Wayne. It was one of the first restaurants that started to breathe life into the streets after dark. That was when there was just Teresa's, a BYOB with some never disappoint food. Fast forward a few years and now there are two of them: an Italian restaurant on the left, and a Belgian restaurant on the right. The Italian food is a little more pasta and pizza with a few of the old high-end favorites. But what really makes the place is the very respectable and exhaustive beer menu of mostly Belgian beers. Very extensive and worth the trip for just that. The food on the Belgian side -- it's OK. The mussels are pretty good, but, again, you really came for the beer. Now if they could just do something about the noise. A few dampeners on the ceiling might change the whole atmosphere. I'm not an expert on these things, but take it down a notch so that people don't need to yell across the table at each other.

Teresa's USED to be my most favorite BYO in the area. You always had to wait at least an hour to get in on a weekend night. But, it was worth it since you got amazing pasta, fish, meat and could bring your favorite wine. Went on Friday with 3 friends. The BYO is gone. The whole interior changed. It went from cozy and energetic, to cold and modern. The tables were small, the seats were aluminum and very uncomfortable. And there was no wait. We were sat right away. That tells you something. The menu was terrible. I couldn't find anything I liked, and I love pasta and fish. The pastas were filled with sausage or pork. Very little veggies on the menu. Only had bronzino as the fish. We were all stumped, and three of us got pizzas. We ended up spending $60 each for two glasses of wine and a pizza. I could have gotten a pizza at home with a bottle of wine I would have enjoyed. Will NEVER go back. VERY VERY disappointed.

Changing the sound has gained 1 star for Theresa's in my ratings, however, the very very uncomfortable chairs were a large disappointment. These chairs look like thwy are ready for a good hos wash down (all metal) . The worse part about these chairs, though is the two metal bars that poke you hard on each side of your butt and the shape of the seatt makes your buttocks ache. Very distracting.... The new menu lacks inspiration. Another disappointment was the complete removal of the BYO option( not even a corkage fee available) which will leave you with a very high dinner bill if you decide to order wine, or anything else. We did not notice any improvment on the food . What a deception!

Very disappointing! We had been going to Teresa's for years and always loved the place. But they have changed their ambiance and menu significantly and it's no longer the Italian we loved. In fact, it barely had anything to choose from. Pasta options were minimal. One friend's pizza had a glowing sauce and she thought the crust suggested it had been microwaved. Another friend had a dry piece of chicken. I settled for a salad since the pasta choices were disappointing only to be served with the smallest shrimp Caesar salad I've ever seen for a meal and with cocktail shrimp. Who serves a salad with cocktail shrimp??? I made them take it back and grill them instead. Overall .. It was a very disappointing experience, and we will likely not return.

Amazing! I should have read more reviews but the first thing you need to know is that there is a Belgium side and an Italian side. The night was beautiful and I wanted to sit outside so the hostess graciously seated us on the Italian side--where the last open seat was. This seating could have been explained better as there are two separate menus and I was looking forward to a nice Belgium meal. However, the Italian was still worth the drive. The evening started with a nice goat cheese with an amazing rhubarb jelly that I wish I could have bought a giant jar of and taken home with me. It went perfectly with the cheese. The beet salad was also well thought out and made, not just thrown together. The ingredients blended perfectly together for a very delicious start. The wait staff was pleasant, although our waiter was a little overwhelmed that night he still made an attempt to be as quick as he could. The main course was a delicious linguini vongole. I'm not a crab person but even I was stealing food off my dates plate. Very well seasoned. I had the veggie panini. Again, very well made with deliciously grilled eggplant and a generous amount of cheese. The night ended with two superb desserts: a delicious authentic cannoli and bread pudding. This is quite a different bread pudding made with white wine rather than a the usual whisky sauce but the chef blended and prepared it nicely. It was light and fluffy and unique in its flavors. I say hat's off to the chef for coming up with such a unique blend of flavors on every item. It was all wonderful and would recommend for any occasion.

Pasta with clams was super salty. Tiramisu for dessert was frozen in some spots and the lady fingers were super dry. I'm not sure what happened to this place. Seems to me like it's gone downhill. I don't think I'll go back there again.

"Like, oohh emm geee, Teresa's is like the best"-said no one in this group of friends, ever. Leveling with with haters that are about to hate on my review, I've been here FOUR times. FOUR. 1-2-3-4 and yes, still hate it. And it's not one thing I hate. It's all things we hate. Both sides, same side it doesn't matter, it's overpriced crap. So for starters let's get this straight: Because most of you weren't born with supernatural ESP thought processing, I'll save you the dirty looks of confusion you'll receive when you ask what the difference is between the two Theresa's that sit side by side. The "cafe" is "Italian" and "Next Door" is "Belgium." Both of which are sorry excuses for the concepts they claim to mimic. Both parts share the kitchen, hostess stand, bar menu and dessert menu, managers etc. - but not dinner menu. Then what's the effing point? One particular night we we called to see what the wait was currently. The always-brain-dead hostesses told us there was one table open and they were not on a wait yet. 9 minutes later we walked in the door and both sides were on a wait over a hour and no one working this stressful host stand could tell me why we were just told false information. Service is always slow as hell. It's such a long process. 10 minutes before the server comes over to greet you, 15 minutes to get a drink from the bar, 15 minutes to find the server to put in an appetizer, another 9 months before you can find him and tell him your starving and you'd like to put a dinner order in and wait an hour for it. The water bottle they give you never gets refilled and 50 percent of the time we've gotten the server that looks like he doesn't own a bathroom and just toked up in the back. And God for bid if you're not a beer snob! You are beneath them. If you don't order any alcohol, you can kiss your attention goodbye. The best is seeing your server judge you for being young, thinking she won't get much of a tip from you and attends better to the older crowd in her section. Right on. The french fries are good and that's about all I can say on a positive note. Fries. That's my one star. I could go on and on for days, but I will leave you with this. My husband went to one of the top culinary schools in the world and we have lived all over the country. If you think this is good food and this place is the bomb dot com, I feel very sorry for you for you have not lived.

I got into Wayne, PA after 8:00 PM while travelling for work. I was looking for a place with nice ambiance and someplace that was local/ not a chain. This place was the perfect fit. I had a chicken sandwich with goat cheese. It was fresh and reasonably priced. They have a great wine, beer, and whiskey selection. The service could not have been better.

Food was ok but portions very small. The ac must not have been working the day I was there because it was hot as hell. They renovated the place since I was there last. A very industrial look with uncomfortable metal chairs. Do not get the bruschetta. $4 for one half slice of bread. What a joke...not a good way to start the meal. I will not return.

We went there as a family celebration. We sat on the Italian side near the door. My husband ordered a beer but they did not have his usual brand so he had to look at the beer menu. The did not have his first 2 choices. They did not have the choice for the table next to us either. Our appetizers were delicious. Fried artichokes, mussels, and soup. We really liked our waitress too, but from there- it was not great. By the time we finished our appetizers we were so cold. For one side of the table it was the cold air from the door. From my side it was the air leaking through the front window. The chairs were at least 65 degrees. I put my huge coat on and my daughter sat on her hands (no lie), my other daughter had her shirt pulled over her hands to stay warm. Meanwhile we could see the hostess staff just a couple feet away enjoying a space heater. The lighting was very strange. We would take out our cell phone flash lights to see the actual color of our dinner and drinks. For entrees my husband had a 30 some dollar steak. It was so fatty. The pile of fat was the size of a plum. My one daughter had pizza. She liked that but felt her lemonade was watered down. My other daughter seconded the motion. I had arctic char. It was good but I forget what it came with. In the weird neon lighting it was a pile of brown puree and a pile of red puree. I did not get my flashlight out to check the real color. My other daughter had pesto pasta. It was okay. But very strange color. It is super disappointing to spend that kind of money and not enjoy it. We were way too cold to stay for dessert. on the way home I was giggling with my older daughter. I did not even like my cocktail that the waitress suggested.

I was in Philadelphia, or the Philadelphia area, and was able to get to this place in nearby Wayne, Pa. What a fun place! They have two sides to their restaurant, the meat or the veggie. I went veggie on this night and really enjoyed their offerings. Mostly, I came for the beer. The decor was very cool, the bartender was super cute and very nice, but the beer selection was impressive. The exclusive Belgian they served me was pricey, but oh so worth the price! You also have to consider how hard it is to get just a bottle of beer in and around Philadelphia. So, to pay for something that is exclusive as well as delicious was not a waste at all. Be mindful of that. All in all, it was a fantastic experience, one I will do again. Wayne is a historically rich place, but made even more so by Teresa's Cafe.

We walked into Teresa's and were asked whether we wanted to eat at Teresa's (Italian) or Teresa's Next Door (Belgian). Opted for Italian. It did not disappoint. Completely full at 6pm on a Friday. The food was out of this world. Really amazing. The fried calamari was particularly wonderful. Not a hint of chewiness - has squid ever melted in YOUR mouth? Wild. The mussels were fantastic. Local heirloom tomaroes on the bruschetta. Pastas cooked perfectly al dente. Every item reeked of quality ingredients. Really nice to see. Veal medallions with artichokes and capers were so tender they made me say wow. When my wife accused me of being too dramatic about it, I made her try a bite and she did a double take and apologized. So there. Wine list was huge and excellent, and you can choose from the same enormous beer list that the Belgian side uses. The house is casual, noisy (perhaps the only drawback), young and old, with a line waiting outside for tables. Simply a fantastic, casual, top-quality dinner. I would eat here constantly if I were a local.

Belgium or Italy? You'll need to decide which side as they get you a drink from the other side, but not a menu item. We're told they have separate kitchens...hmm? Maybe so, but my son would have liked fries with his panini - more so than the field greens and pasta salad (both of which were quite good). My wife and I had pasta dishes, hers seafood, mine fusilli emiliani. Both seasoned well in large portions. I would have liked them to use less butter in my dish. It felt excessive even when I wasn't expecting a healthy dish. Salads were great. Good service and good drinks. While I liked the food, I have a clear preference for Belgium over Italy - at least at Theresa's.

I came here again after a year and a half hiatus. I was really impressed with the food. I had the pasta formaggio, which was excellent. Others at my table ordered Rapini, and more or less created their own pasta dishes, which the server did not mind at all. They all turned out great. The beer selection is fantastic, b/c they can get it from Theresa's Next Door, the Belgian place. I can't wait to go back next time I'm in the area.

This was a pretty decent meal. Great that it was BYO, so we were able to enjoy some nice wines. I had the parmesan crusted pork chop and it was very enjoyable.. juicy and had a perfect cripsy crust. Terrific piece of meat. The spinach that accompanied was a bit too garlicky for my taste (and I love garlic). Other's didn't mind as much. What I can advise is do not order the calamari... it was one of the worst calamari's I've ever had. Absolutely flavorless and mushy. Service is very good, however atmosphere is just so so. It's a good meal for the money, but nothing that you have to cancel all your plans to go to.

I've been to Teresa's several times. I prefer Next Door to the Cafe, mostly because of the atmosphere, but I also prefer the food choices. Just very different. I usually have a good meal at either place, but I do find it's hit or miss. I had duck there about a year ago that I just didn't like. Just wasn't my taste. Other times I've had great experiences, as have guests of mine that I've taken. My dad had a fish dish there that he said was the best he'd had in a long time. My latest visit last night was pretty good. I had Penne with Scallops and Shrimp. The scallops were fabulous, some of the tastiest I've had. We also opted for dessert even though we were full. My husband had the tiramisu and boy, was it good--melt in your mouth. I had the chocolate mousse, which was good, but too rich for me. In general, Teresa's is reliable for good food and if you're out for drinks and snacks, Next Door is a great place to hang out.

The wine was good, except they did not have any local (PA) wines. With over 200 wineries in PA, you would expect at least some to be good! (Try Galer). The arctic char was over cooked. The pork was good, but the fava bean side was too sweet. You have the impression that they try to make the menu too trendy...cook what works.

Beer list was excellent, but the food was okay. Overall the meal was okay (our table had two of the salads, two pasta dishes and the duck special), but wouldn't go back there again to eat.

Is it me or is it because it's Wayne on the Main Line Teresas for Italian food just does not measure up. It is overpriced for what you get, an $8. 10 oz glass of draught beer, really. My wife had the tasteless eggplant melazone and I had the tough fried veal cutlets which had more salad on the plate than veal. I will say service was good. Unfortunately we won't be seeing our lovely waitress again because we' ll not be going back. It just hurt spending more than $60. For a mediocre food.

Went here with my friends for lunch and the food was phenomenal. I got the Spinach Fettuccine (sub'd penne instead and w/o pancetta) and it was so yummy! The prices were reasonable although the bruschetta appetizer was just one piece of bread ($4) and not the easiest thing to share. Would totally come back here...also want to try the bar section as well (it was closed during lunch). Definitely recommended!!!!

This place is terrible. And whats more terrible than the atmosphere, is the staff. The manager is a lying, cheating, prick who should just crawl into a hole. I have never met a more disgraceful person in my entire life. I would rather throw myself in front of a car than ever have the misfortune of meeting his acquaintance.

Good food overall. I like to fact that they have a book of beer and a book of wine available - so great drink selection. I didn't get a chance to try their dessert.

Decent, but disappointing. Overpriced for what you get. My linguine pescatore was not exactly brimming with seafood. Pretty sad for a $24 plate.

Went for a dinner out with our son and let him pick the place. When he chose Teresa's I thought great! I haven't been there in a while. And then I remembered what a while it had been (son was a youngster and had trouble sitting still in the chair) and that they had an opened kitchen, and that they didn't take reservations.... Hmmmm why am I doing this? So I hurried over to yelp to see what folks had to say- and found that they had renamed the place and turned it into a Beer Hall? What? Well after some reading I figured out that the original restaurant took over the space next door and now occupied two buildings. One was the regular Italian type restaurant and the one next door (sharing the same entranceway) specializes in BEER and has some food on the side. So I specifically asked if we could go to the restaurant portion without putting a damper on things. We showed up at 6PM due to the no reservation policy and not knowing what to expect. The parking lot across the street had valet parking by some pretty young valets. (if you want to bypass this enter the lot by the train station). We put our names down on the waiting list for a 45 minute wait. And proceeded to walk around Wayne. I'm so sorry that the shops close so early because it would have been wonderful to go in and browse as we waited. There are certainly enough restaurants in this area that people would be in and out of the stores if they were open. My husband is a wonderful and (for the most part) patient person. But waiting for food is not his strong point. So we went into Teresa's Next Door and got him and son a beer to tide them over and see what that place was all about. (Just a few booths and other then sitting at the bar, you will be standing). LOUD! We were finally called at 7PM and seated next to the window, which someone had already mentioned on Yelp to try to avoid. Well there was no way around it. During the winter time it is going to be cold anywhere within the front part of the restaurant as the door opens. So either come prepared and bundled or come during the warmer months. We got our obligatory bread, butter and oil with herbs. The bread here is totally non descript. It's bread. We ordered the antipasto plate which comes with a selection of cured meats, beets, olives, cheeses, eggplant, zucchini, etc. It was very fresh, good and enough to feed 3 people. Then we shared the Roasted Salmon made with ample olives and diced tomatoes. Served with sautéed zucchini and fingerling potatoes. My son liked this dish very much. The salmon was very tasty and cooked so that it was still moist. Large portion, but I wish they had substituted something other than the fingerling potatoes. Our second dish was the Rosemary Roasted Chicken, smothered in Moist sun dried tomatoes and a wild mushroom sauce. It came with Haricot Vert and a Risotto Cake. The chicken was a very good piece of breast, plump, moist and tasty and with every bite you got the sun dried tomatoes til the very end. The green beans were great, but the best was the Risotto cake. If you remember ask if they will substitute this for something on the menu that comes with your dish you don't particularly like. For dessert we had the Focioccolato (sp?). This is a calzone type of round shell filled with hazelnut chocolate and raspberry preserves and baked. Comes with some whipped crèam. It was large enough for the 3 of us. This was intended to taste like a crepe? Perhaps, but it did not make it. The dough was too tough. I'd pick another dessert next time. The waitress was attentive and pleasant. Aside from the cold my only complaint is the noise level. I would say that sitting near the window would have made it louder as the sound had nowhere to go bouncing off the glass, but I think it was actually quieter over in our corner then the middle of the restaurant. (And I certainly would not want to be further back near the kitchen where I would have to watch the ever move of the food preparation. (Certified food preparer). I would definitely like to come back here again, but perhaps not on a Saturday night. Mid week? Early or late dinner.

Went to Teresa's because it was a bit quieter than Next Door but this isn't a knock against Next Door. Next time I'm around I will certainly give Next Door a try. Teresa's offered a good selection of Italian food on their menu. Had the Rapini which was very well done. Pasta was cooked to the right level of doneness. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. Serving portions were reasonable. They have a large selection of beers to complement the food.

After living and/or working on the Main Line for 10 years, I finally made it to Teresa's last weekend. We met friends for dinner on a Saturday night, and chose to eat on the cafe side. They don't take reservations, but they were able to seat us right away at 6:30, which was a nice surprise. It did get more crowded as the night went on, so I'm sure we would have waited if we arrived later. First of all, I had no idea that this was such a beer-lover's dream! The "Book of Beer" was extensive, extremely well researched and presented, but overwhelming for someone who normally drinks Yuengling or Miller Lite (like one of our friends). However, my husband really enjoyed picking something off of the list, and was very happy with his selection. The bottled wine list was equally extensive, and there were some nice choices by the glass as well. Wine averaged $8-$11 by the glass. For apps, we split two of the bruschettas, which were good, but not anything to write home about. And they're tiny, so order accordingly. My husband and I also split the caprese salad, which was a good size and tasty. The real stars were our entrees, which everyone loved. I had the formaggio pasta, which featured orecchiette, tomato, parsley, and warm goat cheese. It was DELICIOUS. The tomatoes were chunks of cut up fresh tomato like you'd get in a sald, which I didn't expect, but was really nice. And the goat cheese sauce was so good I couldn't stop dipping the bread from the table in it. Others ordered the al forno pasta with hot sausage, and chicken piccata. Everyone was very satisfied with their meals. To top it off, we got two orders of this delicious dessert that was pizza dough filled with Nutella and raspberry sauce. UNREAL. I could have eaten that as my meal. Service was good -- our waitress was a little odd, but attentive. My only real complaint was that it got cold when the door to the lobby got opened. There's a definite draft issue that they're clearly aware of (someone is there to open and close the door so it doesn't stay open too long), but there's not much to be done about that. Overall, two thumbs up. We'll be back. Hopefully when I'm no longer pregnant and can take advantage of the beer and/or wine lists!

My husband and kids love Teresa's more than I do. We have been several times, maybe 4, and we never get out of there for under $175 (for family of 6). It's expensive. The kids love the bunny bites and fried artichokes. I usually get a pork chop. My husband loves the beer selection. I don't like beer, so I usually get a cosmo. We go because the staff is good, they have food my kids like, and it's a nice (but expensive) night out. They don't take reservations, so we always go early (like 5:30) to ensure that we can get a table without a long wait.

So the beer was great! The menu looked awesome but my meal was kinda sucky. The bartender may have been awesome but he was weeded out of his mind and was doing a fabulous job for how busy he was, so I can't be mad he didn't have time to check back on my awful food.... The atmosphere was pretty awesome. Even with how much I disliked my entree I'd give it another try when they weren't so busy

Teresa's is a restaurant I would recommend for a variety of occasions - date night, catching up with a friend, celebrating a birthday or anniversary. There is something on the menu for everyone, and the upscale casual atmosphere is simple enough for a weeknight dinner, yet creative enough for a special occasion. One of my dearest friends and college roommates lives nearby, and she knew that even a "foodie" from San Francisco would appreciate Teresa's. I immediately felt comfortable from the easy, friendly service. It's BYOW (they encourage wines bought in PA, which is nice), and we had a delicious Pinot from my friends' cellar, so that helped set the mood, too. I started with the Barbabietole Salad - mixed greens with roasted beets, goat cheese, toasted pistachios, sliced apples and a balsamic dressing - fresh and tasty. For my main course, I had the Pollo Rosmarino, which was delicious. I always think that you can judge a restaurant by how they cook chicken, and I was very pleased with my dish. It was tender, juicy, and full of flavor with a tasty sauce made of sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms. They keep the flavors very simple there, allowing the ingredients to be fully enjoyed. For dessert, we had the Fociocollato. Our server told us that we would love it, and even though it didn't look like much on the plate, the taste would be great. She was absolutely right - it's almost like melted Nutella between slices of pita bread (or a thin foccacia), and it was sooooo good. It brought back great memories of how Nutella was my favorite food in college, next to beer of course - and here I am 20 years later still loving it! Compliments to the staff for letting us linger for so long before and after the meal (we were among the first to arrive and the last to leave), and never making us feel rushed. Teresa's would definitely be in my regular rotation if I lived in the area, and I hope to eat there again one day.

Amazing! Service and food was fantastic. Ambience was great. Gave samples of wine and dessert pairing. Even though we didn't have a huge order, our waiter was fantastic and made sure we were taken care of. It was my first time there and I will definitely be back!

Good lunch place if you work on the Main Line as its centrally located in the little village of Wayne. Just don't drive. Parking is a nightmare! The acoustics of the dining room do not permit an intimate conversation so don't go here expecting that but do go there expecting great paninis and brick oven pizzas, generous portion sizes and reasonable pricing. If you go in the winter, ask to sit towards the middle...you'll miss the people watching potential but you'll also avoid the breeze from the opening/closing of the front door.

similar price point as next door in terms of food, yet the wine is reasonably priced. I have not yet tried their wine selection, yet It seems quite nice. The food is great and there are a few really nice appetizers one is the burata bomb. its like a really good mozz stick fried to perfection. also the bruschetta is less than 4 dollars for a serving and amazingly tasty. the service is friendly and very knowledgeable. all of our dishes were cooked to near perfection and the presentation was classy and not pretentious. Overall I love Both theresa's in wayne. This is my favorite italian place on the mainline, yet they need to finish renovating this location, the ambiance is rustic and chic, with menus that are stylistically confusing (they mimic school journals and I am not quite sure why) Ultimately this place will be a huge success once the atmosphere is complete and more succinct, yet I will be back to enjoy some great pasta and maybe some wine.

Ever have entree remorse--like buyer's remorse, only irreversible, where your meal arrives in front of you and after a few bites, you turn your longing to your neighbor's plate? Last night at Teresa's, where eight of us came to catch up and eat a slow meal, my sister ordered the filet and I, feeling like seafood, ordered the artic char. With salsa verde, an heirloom tomato salad, and wild mushroom polenta, I thought my order was a sure bet, certainly more interesting than a steak-and-potatoes standard. When our plates arrived, I found myself confronting a hot (?) and oversalted stack of tomato wedges and a stodgy, nearly-mushroom free square of polenta; my fish, while cooked well, was half naked, and the half covered in sauce was so salty (think olives, capers, and then a hefty dredge from the salt shaker) it became difficult to eat. My sister, on the other hand, ate what appeared to be a standardly tasty meal, only letting me sneak scant bites from her filet. This place seems to be better for Italian mainstays; at the least, stay away from the char. A bored waitress but otherwise-good food, as my dinner-mates sampled everything from the pizza to the chicken to the pasta with clams.

My in-law's were in town and wanted Italian and we wanted to stay local, so we took them there. Its great that it's BYOB, but we forgot to take a bottle of wine. The restaurant was very noisy. Don't expect to have a conversation with a table of 4 here. We were in the corner and still couldn't hear each other. The bruschetta with moz was good and then we each ordered a pasta. The fusilia with the pesto cream was fantastic. The other dishes were good, but nothing great. Overall, a great BYOB in the suburbs if you want good Italian and don't want to drive into the city. I would go back.

We went to Teresa's around 9pm last night. Maybe the place was half filled at most. W were looking forward to it cause we have always had a good time there, and good food. We said that there was 6 of us and they tried to put us in a booth with 2 seats at the end. We laughed and grabbed 3 small tables and put them together. We waited for 15 minutes until some blond haired guy came to our table which we thought was the manager, and was going to apologize to us.. Nope he was rude, and walked away. So, we got up and went to Great Am Pub and had a great time. They lost a couple hundred dollars in business and we wont be back. Time to check on your employees Teresa's cause they might not be the people you want representing your place. Not all of course, just the ones that are losing you business..

The cafe half of the restaurant is a wee bit pricier, but the food was very impressive - loved the rosemary chicken with risotto cake. The room was overflowing with Main Liners of all ages - plenty of kids, regulars, and special occasion diners. Room was festive and loud when we went on a Friday night (but in a good way). Only down side is that they only include a couple of beers and wines on the menu - for the full (amazing) list of hundreds of beers - plus more wine... and liquor (no liquor is available in the cafe), you have to physically walk the 10 feet across the hall to Teresa's Next Door.

  • Judy L.

We ate twice at the cafe. Food is good but isn't always consistent. It also gets extremely noisy so that you can't hear others unless you're shouting. It's a little on the pricey side and is too noisy so I wouldn't make it regular place to go. They have a good beer list though. Also, the hubby has eaten next door and says the sandwiches are good. The downside is that the bar doesn't have a TV.

I went to Teresa's with my mom on Sunday night and had a good experience. The atmosphere is pretty impersonal and sparse. The wine list is EXTENSIVE(and expensive haha, but good if mom is paying!). I had a glass of Chianti for $7. It was one of the cheapest options, but really delicious. You get bread and oil with herbs to dip in, nothing especially especial but I always love a place that gives you bread. I had a Ceasar salad to start and It was decent. Very crisp fresh romaine and crunchy croutons, wasn't my favorite Caesar dressing but it must have been OK cause i ate the whole salad. I think the salad was $7. Good portion, plenty for one but not quite big enough for two. My mom had some crazy salad with beets and nuts that looked AMAZING and she seemed pleased with it. We shared a margarita pizza, which they cut it half and put on two separate plates when they brought it out which was thoughtful. Great crispy yummy pizza. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this place if you happen to be in Wayne, PA and are in the mood for Italian. But Its not really worth a special trip.

Had a great meal at Teresa's last night at an outside table. They have the outdoors at night, Teresa's next door has it during the day. Lovely meal at a beautiful spot. We loved the salads, one Caesar and one arugula with lemon and cheese. Then we split a homemade fresh fettuccini with pork and beef bolognase. Wow. The italian traditional cooking still reigns. Good spot outside. It's not the same experience inside anymore, I only gave it a 4 because of the decor. I wish they would put in leather booths in and warm it up. Otherwise it could be a 5.

Our first time here... went for a late lunch. Food was very good. I had the beet fettuccine which was rich and really good. The better half had the pecorino with shrimp and scallops. We both licked the plates... well, not really but we could have because the place was empty when we were there (1pm on a Thursday afternoon in August). Alicia the waitress was charming, very attentive and efficient. The decor and lighting was weird. Walls are painted a plain color and the ceilings are high. Almost looked like it was unfinished. I could see it getting noisy when crowded. We got a bit confused between the Cafe and Teresa's Next Door, which by the way was, um ... next door. Different menus but sharing virtually the same space. Cool little neighborhood place among many cool little neighborhood places along that strip in Wayne.

Mixed feelings. Not horrible but they could use some major changes keep up with the other great restaurants in Wayne. I feel like we wanted to give The café another chance but frankly we were pretty disappointed. The lighting is so bad that it changed the color of the food which is was distracting that I think ultimately hurt the experience. Our meal was way too expensive for what we Had. Maybe the servers should tell The customer the price of the Chardonnay she's offering us? It wasn't on the menu... I don't mind paying money for good Chardonnay and it's not that it wasn't good I just thought the pour was lame. We like our server a lot she was bubbly and friendly. I don't think any of this was her fault. We both had yummy tomato-based salad starters. I had a delicious heirloom tomato salad with artichoke hearts and Pea shoots. It did feel like it lacks something like a shave of cheese or protein or even a few nuts. I get that was supposed to be a simple dish but that's just my feeling. My husband had a few tomatoes just laid in a pretty way on the plate with a yummy Creemy dollop of Burrata. I wish I got that. We shared a specialty pizza that was OK but again hard to decipher because of the lighting. Our meal was $95... We left feeling like it was a rip off. I wish teresa's would go back to the good old days of BYOB We would've felt much more satisfied with our meal having not pay $15 for small pours of Chardonnay or red wine that my husband did not love. I think the people who sat outside probably have a much better time than we did.

To be up front, I never looked at the menu or sat at the table that long. The staff was very friendly , but I could't hang around. Here's why- The inside looks like a sterile shoe box. It was both cold temperature and decor wise I have dined in hospital cafes with more ambiance. Nothing remotely to make you comfortable and made you want to stay and enjoy what I am sure is good food. The tables are in the middle of the dining floor and are inches from one another which added to the feeling of discomfort. We did not stay and instead asked to get a table next door- ahh much better. Listen, I wish them the best of luck as I hear the food is good and the staff was very nice.

My friend had been raving about this spot for weeks so I decided enough was enough and we needed to make the trip. Not that I had to twist her arm or anything, trust me! The inside is surprisingly more classy and cozy than what it seems like from the outside. We chose to sit at the bar since the place was totally packed. The beer and wine selection is phenomenal. Since I am a big fan of trying new things, I asked the bartender for a suggestion. He was super friendly and attentive, and picked a brew I totally loved--I wish I remembered the name. The food is amazing. We decided to split an appetizer or two, and everything was to die for. So much so, that we decided to order dessert too! Yum. My only complaint was that the prices are a bit steep for a local place, but the experience itself was wonderful. Worth it.

Teresa's Cafe (not to be confused with the next door Belgian gastropub aptly named Teresa's Next Door) offers a slightly more refined experience designed to put you in the mood for wine rather than its beer-obsessed (and I say that in a good way) neighbor. If you're a beer fan though, no need to fear- you can still order anything you'd be able to get at TND (and vice versa). And recent changes might even make that unnecessary, as Teresa's cafe has now installed ~10 cider taps featuring both local and international ciders. Through the years the cafe has seemed to struggle with its identity, receiving a major overhaul not too long ago, and its menus still show signs of tweaking every once a while. That said, I really like what its come to be- service is super friendly, there's a variety of great food ranging from snack portions to full meals, and the interior is done up really nicely. Teresa's really shines as a place to grab a drink at the bar and get some cheese or charcuterie. They've got a half-price happy hour on cheese and meats every weekday, plus half-price all sunday. The selection features a lot of great cheeses and meats. When it's not happy hour pricing each is around $8 so it can get pricey fast, but during happy hours it's more than affordable. The menu also offers some other snack options like olives, clams, etc. I've also gotten full meals here a few times. There are a handful of flat breads on the menu, all of which are great. Another time I tried the chicken sandwich which was also really good, and I've also gotten the arctic char before which I loved. Very hard to go wrong with food here. The new cider taps are awesome. They feature around 10 different ciders, some from as close as PA and others as far as Washington, France, and Spain. They range from dry to super sweet and from very usual to "funky". If you haven't been in to try them out yet you really should give it a try! Though Teresa's cafe offers a very different cuisine and experience than Next Door, it's still shares the great food and super friendly and helpful service and is a great choice for lunch, dinner, or just a drink in between.

Love this place. There are so many different mussels to choose from and we ended up eating three different kinds..... each one better than the next. Had a wonderful experience and delicious meal.

It was my first time there and I will definitely be back!

similar price point as next door in terms of food, yet the wine is reasonably priced.

Place was great. Solid beer and oyster specials. Daria was pretty much the best waitress ever. She even put up with us making engagement party cards with her limited supply of pens.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
