High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.

High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. They run a tight ship. It is as fast as wawa but way better quality. Unfortunately, now wawa hoagies taste horrible to me. I go here at least once every two weeks for lunch. All my coworkers love this place as well. All of their cold cuts are great and their cheese steaks are too.

Had breakfast loved the omelets however got stale rye bread and atrocious hash brown which looked like something bought from the freezer in Giant supermarket. They can do so much for good breakfast, they lacked a smile and service was not too friendly. However I came for breakfast and if atmosphere is not good I don't have to come back right. Price was reasonable

It's unreal that this was the last place where we ate before becoming engaged the very same day :-) 100 % biased, I know! But actually, Appetite's Delight did treat me with a yummy veggie hoagie! We are very familiar with the shopping center. During our first year of dating, I exposed my fiance to Panera, because he apparently had never been there before (unfathomable!). However, since then, we had not visited this shopping center. Until August 30 :-) If you need a quick bite before (or after) getting your exercise (or just sightseeing, which is cool!) at Valley Forge National Park, then don't forget to keep your eye out for Appetite's Delight!

I loved the breakfast menu, i order from there every week. I order the same thing everytime i go there so i know how much my order is. Today i just tried to ordered the same exact thing i always ordered and they just tried to up priced me! WTF? bitch i go here everyweek. i know my price. da fuk is this? Fuck this place. NOT WORTH THE TIME. Yall some ungrateful shit. I regret recommended you guys to my friends. I'll get my old fashion food somewhere else. fuck you!

3,5 stars - for deli-style sandwiches, cheese-steaks, hoagies and iceberg based salads. Long lines that move quickly during the lunch rush. Bren - who has worked here for years - is a doll. I'll be back!

I've been coming to appitites delight since I was in elementary school. I recommend the Reuben. I order it with extra coleslaw not sauerkraut and it's delicious. Their special sandwiches like roast beef special are also very good piled high with rare roast beef on fresh rye bread. Basically everything is good at appitites delight it's a great luncheonette restaurant with counter service. For me 4 stars is a top rating... As I only do five stars for the most premium high and experiences. Cold sandwiches and hot sandwiches with shoestring fries or waffle fries all our recommendable. The people that work at appitites delight have been there for ages and it's like going home every time I have lunch there. There's nothing fancy about appitites delight but it's all good. Last year I randomly Tried the salmon wrap, in spite of the fact my brothers were making fun of me for ordering it, it was really good. Thus proving my point that even random menu items are delicious at this staple lunch spot in gateway shopping center.

Best Hoagies and Cheese steaks in the area hands down. I have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. i usually get the italian hoagie which is great. If you ask me what separates a good hoagie from a great hoagie is the bread, and the roll used at appetites is perfect. Its crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Moving past the roll, the meats they use are good quality and fresh. Just a standard Italian hoagie done right. My other regular menu item is the cheesesteak. They use the same roll for the cheesesteak so thats already a good start. The steak is cut into good size pieces and its just the right amount of cheese. I hate when cheese steaks are too soggy and greasy and that is not the case here. Also try the waffle fries and milkshakes. Always a nice addition to the meal I can't recommend this place highly enough, it really is the best around!

We ordered lunch from here today, Wow - very good! I think this place is the textbook model of "Good Food - Good Service." I called in the order (3 sandwiches and sides), and when I got there the order was waiting for me. Got back to the office, everything is right. Just opened my sandwich and i'm on happy overload because it's hot! This might be the best Turkey Reuben I've ever had. Onion rings were fresh and hot too; These are REAL onion rings not tiny ones out of the bag. I'll be back.

Great Shakes and Sandwiches...YUM! Good salads too...but for me its all about the fresh rolls, which i think they get from the conshohocken italian bakery...can get busy at lunchtime, call your order in if you can...I love the steak sandwiches as well as the hot turkey with american cheese and gravy...soo good! Ordering is simple enough if no one is there... just head to the counter, place your order and have a seat, they bring it out to you...if its crowded there is a line and they generally send a server out into the line to take orders, so it moves pretty quick... I'm definitely a fan, where else can you get such a good sandwich in the gateway shopping center? Certainly not next door!

I've been coming here since I was a kid and it's still the same staff and same great food. If you want a cheesesteak there is no better place in Wayne. Consistently delicious!

Appetite's Delight Totally Gets It I ordered our office lunch from here today, everything was great. We called in lots of sandwich orders, onion rings, soups, and I got a Buffalo Grilled chicken salad. I picked up 20 minutes later, the order was ready, and the order was right. This place totally gets it, has good food and great service. Highly recommend if you are looking for a great lunch in this area.

My company has catered from here, but sometimes we'll just stop in here for lunch as well. Food is consistently good, but prices are just a bit high in my opinion. Basically you walk in and look up on the wall, which is where their menu is. Once you know what you want, give your order to the person standing around and then take the slip to the counter to pay. The place can get busy at lunch, and sometimes, seating can be a challenge. Overall though, not a bad place.

This place takes me back. I used to eat here on a fairly regular basis, right after the first few kids in high school were getting their driver's licenses. It's been around a while, looking pretty much the same on the inside, save for the modest dining area which has undergone some changes over the years. I stopped by for old time's sake today, and walked toward the counter with no other patrons around (it was early, maybe 10:15 a.m., well before the lunch hour). The fellow at the register asked what I wanted, and I told him I wasn't sure. He suggested a cheesesteak, and who am I to argue? Fried onions and provolone, please. My sandwich was fine, a solid three stars. I'm tempted to give them an extra star for sentimental value... but then again, maybe I'm remembering it being better than it really was. Still, don't expect them to go anywhere, even with that massive, stupid Panera next door. Those idiots wouldn't know a good sandwich from a hole in the ground.

Back in middle school I used to come here frequently. Stopped in today to grab a grilled cheese. It was good but it's hard to mess up cheese on bread. The place itself hasn't changed much. The menu has a pretty wide range so it's a good place to take a group with a variety of different tastes.

  • Sandra B.

Super mediocre says it all. Since moving to the area about 2 years, have ordered take out for dinner several times. They have such an extensive menu, that I figured at some point I'd figure out what their specialty was. Turns out they don't have one. Everything is adequate, nothing exceptional or unique.

  • David B.

I've been coming here since it opened in 1980 (yeah, it's a long time ago). I don't live in the area any more so I don't get to go very often any more. It's largely unchanged from when it first opened except for some dining room remodeling another yelp-er mentioned. I generally get the same thing every time I come - the Italian Hoagie - and it's one of the best around. It's straightforward food, they have a huge selection, too. I have sentimental feelings for this place, since so much has changed since I was a kid here. The other survivors in Gateway plaza are Sal's Pizza and the Gateway Cafe, which used to be a hole in the wall in the Pharmacy back in the day,

Appetite's is an office fav. We order from here as often as we order from Vic & Deans...probably more. The interior of the place is OK, I would only recommend it if you were in an "all right, so I don't want to eat in my car" type of situation. That said, do Appetite's as a take out or delivery. Anyways, everything I've had here has been pretty damn good. They have a large selection of food on their menu and definitely do deliver with quality and quantity. The burgers are especially delicioso. A sample of what a meal for four would cost...fruit cup (very generous portion - $2.95), small garden burger ($3.95 - I think), chicken salad (DELICIOUS and LARGE $6.95), tuna salad (DELICIOUS and LARGE $5.95), grilled cheese sandwich ($3.95) and a soda ($1.75) = Approximately $26.

  • Brian M.

A better-than-average sandwich shop with a large menu. The place is small but clean and inviting. The subs I've had were made with quality meats. The fries were crisp and tasty. The service is quick and efficient, but not overly friendly. You're not gonna have a long chat while ordering. These guys want to process you fast, which is probably good since the place has a large and loyal lunchtime crowd, who are on the clock. Better than other choices in the immediate area.

  • Amanda D.

This place has great cheesesteaks! When we moved to the area, we were searching for some decent steaks. Sals (down a few shops) has great pizza, but steaks are not good. So we tried Appetites and they were great. Also Appetites always has a coupon in the clipper and local coupons we get in the mail for BOGO. Try the wings too. :-) Not too shabby.

Its ok nothing great, nothing bad. I came here and got a salad and my fiance got a breakfast sandwhich. Again the decor is nothing to brag about but its being redone so that's good. The food is again just ok, i'd look elsewhere like the gateway diner in this shopping center or accross the way to cosi or panera bread. Just ok but you can do better.
