    Grew up going to Meloni's, getting giant take out pots of pasta, and talking to Mr. & Mrs. Meloni. My dad furnished the restaurant and our family was always treated like VIPs. Sadly, the food has gone downhill since the Melonis passed, but still drop in, sit in the cozy bar, and lift a scotch to their (and my father's) memory. The pasta sauce is a bit too sweet, but the chicken parm is still solid. As are the chairs and table my father sold them so many years ago.

    We eat alot of meals here when we visit. My favorite will always be the stuffed banana peppers. That with some fresh bread for dippin' makes for a tasty nosh!

    The food is "ok" here (Solid 2 to 3 stars) from what I remember the pasta was pretty bland. I'm originally from Uniontown and have walked out of this restaurant upon entering in two attempts to revisit because of the chain smokers which thank god Pa. finally banned smoking in restaurants long after Virginia none-the-less. This is kinda like the analogy of being the best Chinese place in Uniontown truth is most people here though can cook better Italian at home and until some place that comes along that draws people out you'll never see my business again. Maybe there is a Maggianos in Pittsburgh if there is and you think Meloni's has good food you will cry when you eat here.

    I love Meloni's because it doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is. Many other wanna-be restaurants have come and gone over the years, but Meloni's is still there, exactly as it was. This isn't high end, froofy food, but basic red-sauce Italian at bargain basement prices. We took a group of 8 that all ate apps and dinners with drinks for under $100. And there's something to be said for consistency- order the chicken parm today and it will be exactly the same as the one last week, last year, last decade. Sometimes the service in the dining room is off, but the regular bar servers and bartenders are awesome. It's nice to have a place where some of the staff have been there for years, and the bartender knows you and your drink order as soon as you walk in. If you're looking for a fine dining experience, keep looking. But if you want the Fayette County equivalent of "Cheers", this is the place to go.

    I've been going to this restaurant since I was a little girl.... Going on 20 or so years now. Always have a great experience. I've never had a bad dish. I usually get the chicken parm or just spaghetti and meatballs with red sauce. Wonderful. My family swears the veal parm is the greatest they've ever had.

    I ordered the veal parm and had to practically dump an entire shaker of red pepper flakes before I tasted any flavor. Service was friendly, but if you're looking for authentic flavorful Italian, I wouldn't go here.

    Chicken parm is very good. Homey atmosphere complete with really loud screaming relatives at the next and other next table. Portions are very large if you like that. Pasta was over cooked. That is seriously not cool in an Italian restaurant. Star down. Really loud, another star down. Georgiana sauce was nice but way too mild. I liked that it wasn't spicy but it could use more flavor. Cannoli was really good as was the raspberry tea. Montepulciano was wimpy. Waitress messed up at least three items we ordered. Another star down. Ok it is very very very loud until the really loud people went home and then I could hear across the table. They know what they think you want to eat and they just bring that. No problem. It's all good right?

    SO, All day long we were wanting to try the beef ravioli, and other Italian dishes. It was Mother's day, and when we got there, (our first time) it wasn't too crowded, there were a few open tables, no one bussing the dirty ones and a lot of people coming in, and no "hostess" to greet customers as the entered the very small entrance. We were offered a booth in the bar area, which was fine, and handed "special" Mother's Day menus, that had VERY LITTLE from the original menu (they had copies of the menu for take home), and were told that we could NOT order from the regular menu!!!!! So, additional time to review new choices. The 3 pasta dishes were spaghetti, angel hair, or rigatoni. Plus, if you want meatballs (which were good, but rather small) there was an additional $1/ball. The only salad option on the menu was a basic chicken salad, and was a DOLLAR MORE than the regular menu!!!! The coffee was decent, cups were small. Waitress was nice, but the whole experience has left me rather overall disappointed. We would have had better food at Caporella's, but KNEW we would need reservations! Otherwise, my next meal choice in Uniontown (if not Caporella's) will be to go to J Pauls.

    Tried other Italian restaurants in Uniontown and this is by far the best. The service and food were so outstanding, we had a luncheon upstairs. Our server, Patty, was awesome and attentive. The food was served buffet style and was delious. Everyone raved about the Italian wedding soup, the pasta and sauce and baked fish! Prices are reasonable with great service. The food was better than at Capperelli's

    We stopped here on our way back to Virginia from a wedding in Pennsylvania, and we were all looking for some nice comfort food. We definitely found it here. The place has a classic Italian atmosphere, with red and white checkered tablecloths, vintage signs over the Ladies and Mens rooms, etc. I was drawn in. I was bummed to find no picatta anything on their menu, since I love a good chicken picatta. But oh well. The service was good, if a bit slow. We had a fairly large group, and the place was pretty full, for a Sunday afternoon. I had a Veal Parmigiana that was tasty, although breaded a little heavier than I would like. My four-year old daughter ordered the fish from the kids menu, and was delighted when they brought her a real fish filet, floured and fried. I think we were all expecting something rectangular. The red sauce was tasty, the atmosphere was casual and happy, and we had a very pleasant experience.

    I came with my family to Meloni's on a trip to fallingwater and Pittsburgh, and stopped in Uniontown to cut the trip in half. We decided to stop by here, and we made a good choice. Salad dressings are homemade are are fantastic. I got the Italian, which was good. My brother got caesar, which he liked. My dad got raspberry which was decent, and my mom got the blue cheese dressing, which was amazing. I ordered the ravioli, which was solid. My brother got the stuffed shells which he said was amazing. My mom got ravioli with mushrooms, which she liked but was dissapointed in the portion size, and my dad got the eggplant parm. I had a small piece of his and can say that it was good, but not great. All in all, its a good restaurant, but nothing out of this world.

    This place is an honest Italian-American red sauce joint, a delightful time warp that is still relevant in Uniontown and certainly a better value and better food than the Olive Garden will be when it opens soon up near the mall. The atmosphere is sweet - some aspects of the decor haven't changed since the 1960s, but that's part of its appeal. Red checkered table cloths, Alitalia posters. Makes you think of the Billy Joel song "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant." We were there on a busy Friday night, and our waitress Marge was so sweet and the service was prompt and professional. However, the hostess Rachel should be censured, if not let go. Upon entering, we were not welcomed and were told to sit anywhere - but there were no bussed tables in the dining room, and sorry, I'm not interested in sitting down to a dirty table. Since the dining room isn't that big, it would not have been beyond her mental capacity to keep tabs on the status of the tables. But fine, we all have bad days. Except that when I paid, there was no "Thank you" or anything. If I come back to Meloni's, it's not going to be because of the service. I had Chicken Cacciatore on spaghetti - very nicely done and a generous portion size. My dining companion had a small size of rigatoni, and that was plenty. You get a lot of good food at a good price. No beers on tap, but a decent bottle selection.

    I don't have too many complaints about the atmosphere; I enjoy the throwback type of places, and in my experience, it's those kinds of restaurants where you get the good grub. At Meloni's though, the grub is subpar. In the several times I've eaten here, I've found the sauce to be bland and the pasta overcooked. I keep coming back thinking I'll be proven wrong about the quality of the food, only to come away disappointed. It's a great place for people who want to bash Olive Garden I guess, or who think that just because a place is local, it's automatically better and/or unique. If that's your thing, go for it. Personally, I'll go to the Italian Oven in C'ville or just pine for the good ol' days when Luigi's still existed.

    I was visiting some friends in Uniontown for the weekend and they suggested Meloni's for dinner one day. I ordered the beef ravioli and it was yummy yummy yummy! I ordered the "small" size and it was more than enough for me. Only downside, I didn't have any leftovers for later! Gosh darn it! Service was a bit slow in my opinion, although it didn't bother me because we weren't in a hurry to leave. The atmosphere was very homey and reminded me of an Italian restaurant, which is exactly what it is. I loved the cozyness and the family atmosphere. If I'm ever back in Uniontown, I will be back!

    Very good, traditional Italian. Veal was great as was sampler. Very attentive service. Thanks Megan. Very reasonably priced, high quality food. Recommend as a stop in Uniontown for Italian food. Not sure why anyone would hit the Olive Garden with this place just blocks away!

    When you walk into Meloni's, it's like stepping back to 50's; it has that kind of look and feel. It reminds you of what an old school Italian restraunt should look like. I've had several different dishes there and they have all been excellent. The other bonus is that it is a great value for money.

    Broiled Seafood platter wasn't good. Scallops were over cooked, crab cake was burned on bottom, and instant potatoes served as my side. Cheap food but will not return. Dirty building, dust on vents, ceiling fans, and ledges by windows.

    Worst service ever. At least I assume this based on the fact that we never even got served. It took 10 minutes to get seated in a not-too-busy restaurant, sat for 20 minutes, nobody came to serve us, we left. Boo Meloni's. The food didn't look that great anyway.

    I'm torn between 2 and 3 stars for this restaurant. The downside is that their food is not too awesome, but the upside is that they are by far the best Italian restaurant in Uniontown... and far better to visit compared to some stinky chain restaurant.
