This used to be where we went for a special treat night out. We would make a reservation, drive 45 minutes from our little cabin in MD and enjoy a nice meal with friends and family. The service used to be great and the food was wonderful. The last two times we went there it sucked. Lousy service (over an hour just to get our salads when the dining room was only half occupied) and food so bad that many of our meals got sent back. The dining room manager knew us from previous visits and offered 25% off and free dessert. But this was not just one bad day but a steady decline. Not going back.

Truthfully, a roach coach would be a boon gastronomic addition to Uniontown - drive on through if you have a choice. If you don't have a choice, and are sick of fast food of every flavor, check out Dimarco's. The place is very low key, rustic and local. The bar, located downstairs, has an impressive selection of beers on tap. I've eaten here a couple of times, both times the service is pretty slow and the meal precursors are underwhelming (wilted sparse lettuce bits, unripened tomatoes) but the Colorado Strip steaks (corn fed moo) are very tasty. The meat is nearly blackened on the outside from the seasonings, and is probably some of the most unexpectedly tasty steak I've had in a while - no need to cover it with any sauce. However, they tend to overcook it a bit. The hunks of steak are almost obscenely large. The garlic smashed spuds are worthy of digging through, I approve of the creamy texture and bits of garlic. Also yummy is the baked yam with praline butter, simply divine and no better way to warm the belly on a frigid winter night. I would have given it more stars, but the second time I had to eat here the meat was not as tasty, nor as tender. I had to dispose of much gristle, which switches on my gag reflex instantly, and the service was even slower. The salads took an hour to bring out, and the dinner another 30 minutes. I know we were a large group, but it was pretty badly organized. Still, there aren't many places with any charm or flavor in this odd little town, so it's a must for anyone in town.

They have the NFL Sunday Ticket, but only 3 of the 8 games on at 1:00 PM on the TV's. A good beer selection, but no beer list so you have to walk to the bar to browse the taps to figure out what they have available. Bartender was friendly and the zucchini chips were good. However we left after a couple beers, since we were there to watch football. Would have preferred to watch or keep tabs on all eight games including the Redzone channel.

Went to DiMarco's last week. It had been a while since we were there. Well, it was delicious. The King Filet is so reasonably priced and the grill taste is delicious. It is served over greens and I get a side of Aglio Olio (pasta with olive oil and garlic). It has changed owners and the only thing that I was unhappy about was the bleu cheese dressing. The last owner had the best bleu cheese anywhere. Plan to be there for a while because they cook everything fresh and delicious. Can't wait to go back. Dionne Malush, Realtor

Craft beers including locals, killer strip steak (perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, what else do you want?), house salad dressing comes in a Patron bottle. I was lucky enough to be there on a Thursday evening when they have a live fun (not hard core) jazz band. Server in the bar (Katrina) was friendly, fun, and attentive. Don't know if I'll ever be in Uniontown again, but if I am, I'll be back.

Most members of our party had the Colorado steaks at Dimarco's - and I'll confess they were a bargain. If I recall correctly - $0.75 per ounce. The meat quality was average. The sides were unfortunately lacking - several members of our party claimed their potatoes were not cooked. Options for sides were limited. The draft beer selection was also slim, but had some good brands. One member of our party ordered a portabello burger which was entirely uneaten - make of it what you will. The atmosphere was not great and the place appeared a bit run down.

I was there last night with friends for steak night. We all ordered the 12 ounce steak done medium. Three of the steaks came out just perfect and one steak came out almost raw. It was charred on the outside but inside was very rare. The other steaks were very very good. We also had the potato chips and the zucchini chips which was also excellent.. Two of us ordered coffee to drink very very weak. Our waitress was very good. Checking on us often and given us refills on drinks. I would recommend stopping here for good steak. Here you go Mindy

I was at DiMarco's with friends 5/8/2014. The food was very good, but there was some issues. We waited over an hour to receive our food. They need to update the restaurant. The side entrance and the carpet are very dirty. The appearance of the entrance and carpet makes you wonder how clean the kitchen is kept. It makes me leary about eating there again. Such a good restaurant to be so poorly upkept.

This used to be one of the best places around to eat - their food was fresh, interesting and delicious. And - the staff was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. My how the mighty have fallen. From what I understand, the place has changed hands twice in the past few years, and the food and service that we received on 2/15 was ATROCIOUS! My brother in laws steak was COLD. My Garlic Tilapia was steamed fish with no garlic to be seen or tasted in a five mile radius. From the time that we received our soup or salad, we waited just a couple of clicks from an HOUR for our entree. It was the most disgusting display of non-service that i've ever seen and I will NOT go back. Period.

As far as appetizers go, try the Bruschetta Italiano. Unlike traditional bruschetta, this uses roasted red peppers instead of tomatoes. Excellent!!!! Also, the white chicken chili is pretty good. I haven't ordered it once and been dissatisfied. The Colorado Strip is a good deal, but is not consistent. The seasoning is great; however, it is not always cooked the way you ask. The service is hit or miss. All in all, it's a nice dining choice in town.

My other dining "adventure" in Uniontown during a business trip. I went here with about 9 other co-workers on the advice of some locals. I ordered the beef tips and didn't love it, didn't hate it. My coworker sitting across from me, however, fell in love with his meal! He ordered the filet and said it was the best cut of meat he's ever tasted...it was a massive cut of meat, but he ate the entire thing! Everyone else seemed pretty pleased with their food. Our waitress was not the friendliest. Granted, we were a large, loud group, but I felt like her attitude cost her a few bucks in tip... Still one of the hidden gems in this small town.

If you're ever fortunate(read: Sarcasm) to be in Uniontown PA your choice in restaurants may be Dennys, Ruby Tuesdays, Applebee's...that's until you venture downtown and discover Dimarco's At risk of peeving the grill mistress the Maple Plank Salmon at dimarco's was DELISH. And the topping was even better. Mixture of perhaps 3/4 Amaretto(aka Disaronno) and 1/4 butter. A-mazing. With live acoustic guitar in the background, made for a great background to dinner. The esteemed gentleman at K-Mart(oh yes, it was an adventure) educated us that just a short 5 years ago downtown Uniontown was so empty you could see the tumbleweed toss through town. Lucky for everyone there was a resurgence of establishments. sure, the table is awash with ads of local merchants from Auto Insurance to muffler replacement - it only ads to the local flavor. Check out Dimarcos for drink or dine, you'll be pleased

Most uninspired. Yet long for filet mignon. Soft mashed potatoes.

Good draft selection, but not enough people drinking the specialty brews to keep some of the lines full of fresh beer. I ordered 2 beer samplers, and at least 3 beers were flat. Sat at the bar, service was good, but it wasn't busy. The house salad dressing was awesome. I also had the flank steak, which was ok. the potatoes were dry and not so fresh. While eating there was more than the occasional lingering fruit fly. I would try other places before coming back. I can see why others would have a problem with the service though, judging by the way other tables were treated.

I have been hitting up Dimarcos whenever I'm in town for the last 8 years or so. I would have given it five stars a few years back but have been disappointed on my last two visits. On a visit a few months back, my whole table's salad greens were mushy and slimy. As to the service, when we showed the waitress, she was very apologetic and accommodating and quickly got us new salads. Our other food on that trip was fine. On my trip this month, I started with a corn and shrimp soup which was good, I used to like the portabella soup but it my last few visits it seems very different - less creamy and more watery. My salad this time was fine and I ordered the scallops in the cheese sauce. The scallops were OK but the cheese sauce was overly strong. I like strong flavors but I could only take a few bites of it with the potatoes. Other diners at my table were content with food other than one who ordered a steak medium and received it well done with no pink at all.
