Man this place is good, and I don't mean "good for Towanada food", i mean good, high class, diner style grub. Three thumbs up, and friendly as could be! I only had brunch but it was amazing!

Just because you deleted this from your Facebook page, doesn't mean it's gone. If I could give you less stars I would. Word of your treatment of your disabled clientele has reached all the way to California. Shame on you. You really should be careful whom you speak to, or about. The young man in question has a huge heart. He fights for his friends and gives without reserve to his community. He volunteers, helps whomever and whenever he can. You could learn a thing or two from him about unconditional love and respect. Asking a paying client to leave simply because they are different from you is sad and wrong. He was just enjoying his lunch and the company he was with. Oh and for your information he has a huge....not large...huge family. Literally hundreds of cousins who love him. That's hundreds of people who will not be eating at your establishment and unfortunately we are all Irish which makes us talkers. So you can bet this story will be told and retold time and time again. So to anyone reading this. The Owner of Cookies does not want to serve disabled or special needs clients. So if you don't want to be embarrassed and disrespected by the owner of Cookies I suggest you find another place to eat. Please share this so we can avoid having anyone else with a disability or special need treated this way. Original post from my cousin on Autism Awareness FB page:: Today I took my autistic brother to a restaurant in Towanda, Pennsylvania called Cookies Canteen. My brother has trouble controlling his movements sometimes and can on occasion have a voice that carries. Needless to say the two older woman sitting to our right were not pleased by this and asked for their lunch to go. If this was not embarrassing and hurtful enough for us, a few moments later the owner of this establishment came up to our table very angrily and said "I realized there is something wrong with your little brother, but you need to calm him down. This is a business! Go ahead and finish your meal if you'd like, but he needs to calm down.". My poor brother looked across the table with sad eyes at our friend who was dining with us and said in a whisper "I am so sorry T..". I am not angry, I am sad. I am sad that in today's day and age a grown man actually has the ability to make my brother apologize and feel ashamed for who he is. Thank you for creating this Facebook Page. More people need to be aware of autism, who it effects and how we can all become better people by getting to know and love someone with autism. All I know is, I am a better person for having my little brother in my life and I would not trade him for anything in the world. Ignorance is bliss.

Do not eat at this restaurant! Everything on the menu is previously frozen, processed food that is microwaved before arriving at your table. It is disgusting. Go next-door or down the block!

Small place with just a few tables...service was very slow, it seemed the waitress would rather talk to her friends than refill our drinks. The food was bland, had a better breakfast at McDonalds..!

In Towanda there are not a whole lot of options, but eating here is safe bet that you will get reliably good food and served by some of the friendliest staff you'll ever encounter. The food is typical diner food, nothing really outstanding but good. The place is very clean and has a little gift shop area that sells knick-knacks.
