The service was great. The food was very tasty, especially the side of soup and salad (which was pretty big!) We had stuffed shells and spaghetti, both were delicious. The only odd thing was that all the food was in "to-go" containers.

Best authentic Italian restaurant and catering in the Philadelphia area. Real home-made pasta and sauces. Cheeses imported from Italy. You just can't go wrong with this place.

Sorry, I'm not drinking the Koolaid. I don't get what everyone raves about. Sure, the people who work there are very nice, but the décor is 1970s pizza joint. So, I tried the chicken parmigiana, with the chicken cutlet everyone (including the server) says is great. It was dry as a bone, even after I doused it in sauce. The oddly shaped French fries were pretty good, but overall, this place didn't do it for me.

If you are looking for unbelievable real italian sandwiches, hoagies, pastas, sauces and cannoli's without visiting grandma or south philly then you need to try this place!! I come once a week for lunch an cant say enough about their chicken sandwich combinations. One is better than the next. Cheesesteaks are fresh and the rolls are best around. They also have takeout dinners that are super fresh and worth the money. If you are looking for fresh cannoli, they fill the cannoli right in front of you, delicious!! The staff is very nice and helpful. The owner John (i think) seems to be a real genuine owner who cares about his customers and reputation. You wont find a place like this anywhere in Delaware County so don't pass it over.

Johnny Paisano's has been a solid favorite of mine for years. I have never eaten in, as it doesn't really strike me as that kind of place (maybe for lunch). The sandwiches are pretty huge, and always really delicious. Johnny offers several vegetarian options, which I always appreciate. I can vouch for all of them. The lunch specials should not be missed (especially if it's taco week!) and the family meal deals are a great price for quite a bit of food.

Great food! Stopped in on a Saturday for lunch and was very surprised at the excellent food this little place has. The food was fresh, the place is clean, and I'll definitely be back. They only have a few tables, and the place doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's definitely worth a visit. I had a pizza steak, and it was on a nice, crispy, seeded roll, very tasty. My dining partner had the Italian tuna hoagie, and it had very nice sharp provolone and roasted red peppers on it - looked very good, and she said it very tasty. We shared the shrimp slammers, and they were very good - fresh and crisp with nice panko bread crumbs, and served on a bed over very fresh romaine (not a single bad or slimy piece of lettuce to be found!) We also shared the hand-cut fries, and they were very nice, crispy and brown. The sandwiches were a very good size, and we both took half home. The service was also very good. Very nice people working there - very clean looking and competent. I also bought a bag of homemade croutons on the way out, and they were excellent. We'll definitely visit Johnny Paisano's again.

While I enjoyed my visit to Johnny Piasano's I thought the food was only so-so. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was hot and plentiful but I found the sauce on the Chicken Parm (and my daughter's stuffed shells) to be the weak point as it was thin and weak. It could have used more spice. When I reheated the leftovers the next day, I added more oregano and that made it slightly better. Maybe it was just an off batch of sauce, but I was kind of disappointed. For that, I gave the food 2 stars and the staff 1, for a total of 3. I'll give Johnny P's another chance in the future. BTW, if you eat in, the place is very small.

Great italian sandwiches philly style!! My party of 4 tried Johnny's pizza steak, 2 veggie sandwiches and eggplant Parmesan entree for a weekend lunch. While we waited, we were served complimentary chicken straticella soup and garlic bread. The eggplant parm came with a generous, very fresh garden salad (romaine, cucumbers, tomato). The veggie sandwiches were overstuffed with fried eggplant, roasted peepers, perfectly cooked just tender green and yellow squash, and topped with garlicky brocolli rabe and melted sharp provolone-- amazing and delicious. The bread was a seeded italian roll, slightly crisp exterior.... Perfect!!! Pizza steak eater (bro#1) said it was very good. Eggplant parm (bro#2) was devoured. I was very impressed! Decor is bare bones minimalist so just go for the amazing sandwiches... or take out!

Hands down the best sandwich joint in delco! Everything from the customer service, to the ingredients and down to the prices is incredible. I have often ordered here for work, everything is ready in about 20 minutes! The steak Anthony and the tough guy are their best two items in my personal opinion. So much flavor, a good roll and the freshest of ingredients. It's an explosion of all the right stuff in a sandwich!

The 19064 zip code has something of wonder in its ranks, Johnny Paisanos. This eatery cannot be beat. I've dined all over the globe, but when you find a spot that caters to your palette and your heart, that is a place to cherish. This comfort food spot is the best in the Philadelphia region and they hit the mark with every dish. We adore their menu of cutlet hoagies, salads, soup 'piatto del giorno' and entrees. My husband, young daughter and I live in California and it is not a true visit to Springfield without Johnny Paisanos. On our last trip, we had the chicken piccata, mozzarella e pomodoro, a cutlet hoagie and salad. Truly wonderful. My husband and I enjoyed our time waiting for our to-go order, dishing with the owner and employees, all who are beyond friendly and witty while we watched in wonder as they filled fresh cannoli before our eyes. It is restaurants like Johnny Paisano's that nourish my love for good food fueled by passion. Till next time...

Been going to this place for years. I have eaten sandwiches all over the Philadelphia area and this place has some of the best. I've heard great things about their pastas and meat entrees, but every time I go there I just can't pass up one of their superb sandwiches. The pork isn't my favorite, but ALL of the chicken cutlet sandwiches are phenomenal. The Steak Anthony is so good it puts tears in my eyes.

Have passed this place many times and always wanted to try, well tonight was the night. Ordered the Meatball Sandwich, it was huge and tasted delicious. Also had an order of their Mozzarella Fritti ( fried mozzarella in a triangle shape which was also delicious). The wife ordered a Blackened Chicken Caesar Salad, it was huge and the chicken had a kick to it man. I'm thinking some Cajun seasoning. Now I am not much of a salad kind of guy but I would definitely order this. They have many other sandwiches I can't wait to try. This place has officially been put into the rotation. They also have dinner entrees and pasta dishes that you can order cooked or they have some in their refrigerator that you can buy and heat up for a quick meal. Very reasonably priced.

Love their food. Their family meal deals are perfect for the weekend for two or three peeps. Fresh one day, left overs for the next with some to spare. Chicken Parm and Sausage Scaloppini are the best.

I've been coming here intermittently since moving to Springfield in 2004. I have to say, these guys DELIVER just about every time! I can't say I've eaten a lot off the menu, but what I have eaten has been excellent. My favourite, though, is the home made Caesar dressing- outstanding and sooo garlicky- love it! Service is always great too. My only surprise is that more people don't dine in...hardly anyone ever there

I am very pleased with the food and service I received from Johnny Paisano's. I used their catering service for my husband's 40th birthday. I ordered a full pan of lasagna, half pans of stuffed shells, chicken marsala, meatballs and pasta salad, and a 3 pound tray of chicken fingers. I found the prices to be very reasonable and delivery was extremely prompt. The woman who delivered the food was very friendly and completely thorough in explaining exactly how to heat up the food. She even wrote down the instructions for me and set up the catering caddys and sterno pots so they were ready to go. The portions are enormous and I feel the pans are a great value for the money. The lasagna felt as though it weighed ten pounds! We have a ton of leftovers. The sauce on the stuffed shells was fantastic (a spinach cream sauce) and they thoughtfully included two huge containers of extra sauces as well. The only drawback, and the reason why I am not giving five stars, is that the meatballs were quite gristly. In fact I was not able to eat them due to this problem. I would definitely use Johnny Paisano's again for catering but I would not re-order the meatballs. Other than that issue, the experience was excellent.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
