We have been going to this restaurant every Monday night for years to enjoy the great drink and food specials and triple points. However, the drink specials were increased by $1.00 and the food specials were eliminated. This has upset many of the Monday night regulars. We will not be going anymore. By raising the drink prises and eliminating the food specials you have eliminated us as customers. You had a great thing going on Mondays but have ruined it. Bye bye.

Easily the worst food we've ever but our expectations weren't high to begin with. The staff who had to apologize multiple times for the missing ingredients on the Mediterranean Salmon and the overcooked, then undercooked NY Strip were very nice; they took the steak off our check without being asked. I got the feeling this happens a lot and they were just being proactive. When we left the restaurant my husband confessed he didn't bother to mention the insect he saw crawling across his plate because there was no point in making things worse. The worst thing a restaurant can do is call themselves a steak house when they can't execute a steak. Nothing was good- not even the salad bar or the side of steamed broccoli. I'd like to believe that chain restaurants like Charlie Brown's must have some redeeming qualities and I try not to be a snob, but I'm never, ever right.

I love this restaurant. They serve a great steak and have an amazing salad bar. I have never been there and had bad service. They are open late. The atmosphere is on the darker-side and cozy. They have interesting seating arrangement. A great place for family ( more adults then kids) or a night out with friends.

Update .. After our last poor outing I received an email thru Yelp from one of the managers at CB's . She asked me to call her .. Which I did .. She apologized , offered no excuses and it shouldn't have happened and she appreciated my feedback .. After all they can't make things better if they don't know what's wrong .. She sent me a letter of apology & asked us to stop in again and ask for her .. We did that tonite ... So here's the review of the meal . Service great .. Salad bar as always .. Super . We tried the firecracker shrimp( fairly new on The menu ) . Very good .. Crispy & with a bite . Worth the money .. I had parm crusted chicken w/ garlic green beans .. Huge and tender .. Larry had is fav. .. Queen cut prime rib .. It was a little more medium then medium rare. . But close enough to be very happy with his dinner .. So it looks like CB is back on our list . Thanks Jennifer for making it right. . CB should be very proud of the way you handled this

Pleasantly surprised. I never knew a classy restaurant/bar existed on Baltimore Pike! I only came for happy hour, but had a great experience with the food and service (TJ was my bartender). Don't forget to check in on Yelp for free firecracker shrimp (:

I have gotten so tired of waiting 2 hours for a table at the other steak house across the street, so I have been going here for a while now. Very friendly staff, good food and a unbelievable salad bar that comes with any entree. Highly recommend!

Had a hamburger there the other day. No wonder the place was empty. Terrible French Onion Burger!! A Coors Lite draft was $4! Come on!! Another chain restaurant to avoid.

Good grief, Charlie Brown! ------------- so we were in the neighborhood, deciding between fake Chinese (Pei Wei) and fake steakhouse (Charlie Brown's). Many moons ago, I remembered their prime rib was pretty good, so I decided to come here. Oy, vey! I felt like Gordon Ramsey on Kitchen Nightmares. We started with their house special - Chips with blue cheese and bruscetta. The chips were burnt (and cold!), but even worse, the olive oil drizzle on the bruschetta was STALE! Party foul!! I moved on to the salad bar while we waited for our entreés. The highlights included marinated mushrooms and squash, and white bean. However, this too was tarnished by greasy tongs at the various stations. Boo! Finally, the entreés. Her Filet was completely unseasoned; the lobster and crab gratin again suffered from the grease attack. To be fair and balanced, the Prime rib was indeed tender. But The "Au jus" probably came from an industrial pack of Lawry's seasoning. I decided to give it the second star because the Bathroom was clean. As a disciple of Tony Bourdain, I will never "misunderestimate" the importance of a pristine bathroom. Summary: Maybe we should have gone to Pei Wei for some beef & broccoli instead.

Went here with a friend who has been here before. After this meal I'm surprised its still in business. It's a steakhouse so, I ordered steak (my dining partner ordered chicken). Steaks come with either the salad bar (very 70s) or a soup and one side. I opted for the latter. The soup of the day was potato soup which tasted like the one from Houlihan's in the 90s. The steak was either frozen or was a reheat as it had that liver-y taste that a properly prepared strip steak should never have. The side I ordered was steamed broccoli but the plate was delivered with the broccoli and a pile of commercial fake fried onions. Not a place I will return to....gets an extra star for free Wi-Fi.

Never again! Worse than diner food. I saw they were expensive so I figured they would offer quality food. The crab cakes were full of fillers, filet was horrible, I think the mashed potatoes were instant. All around... bad experience.

Food was very good. The service was great! I got the prime rib with the horseradish crust, the "crust" wasn't much of a crust. It had a good flavor but not what I expected. The firecracker shrimp was delicious and will definitely go there on Wednesday for $5 firecracker shrimp!

I've had some OK meals here in the past. The salad bar is fine. The last meal I had here however was disappointing. It was the seafood trio. Only one of the three types of fish was any good, the garlic shrimp. The cod and salmon were bland. It's hit or miss anymore.

I love this place. Consistently friendly service, great apps, a wonderful salad bar that my wife, my mother and my mother-in-law all LOVE...and a GREAT steak. Every time. Its the highlight of a terrific menu and a great meal. Good prices. Terrific apps (although they got rid of the best part of the appetizer sampler, the Quesadilla eggrolls), terrific desserts...and one thing I will say about this place in particular is when something goes wrong, as things sometimes do, they make it right. My wife and I ordered our apps, got our salad, and ordered our meals. The meals came...no apps. But when we mentioned it to our server, who apologized profusely for forgetting, brought over a manager, and comped us our desserts. Well done. It would be great if no place ever made a mistake. I care far more when someone does and then can really make it right. We love this place, it's awesome.

Three out of five stars and heres why: Entree: $13-$20 The Works*: $25-$30 a Head Scene: Family Decor: Old Americana (A Shenanigan's style with random bits of car parts and photographs on the walls. A step up would be the the book shelves in the lounge area) It's big Food: Generic Steak House ( They also had an octagonal salad bar with the basics. The size of it makes you think you struck mix and matching gold, but the other half of it is the same as the first half, do more than half a lap around and you find yourself discontented) Pros: The lounge section is well decorated and gives a great bar feel. The salad bar comes with the meal. Amazing down to earth service. Cons: The menu is very much like Fridays where you can have a three course meal for like 15 bucks. I went with that because I like variety. My entree was soggy and the sauce was way too thin. (beef tips in a gravy sauce) Finale: I didn't hate it but for what I paid, I felt like I would rather have smaller portions at a better quality. Chili's or Fridays over this place hands down. If in the mood for steak, I'd stay away from chains. *The Works - Drinks, Appetizer.... Minus the dessert

It's been about 10 months since my last review. I usually sit by the bar & it's excellent. This time the entire family joined so we got a big table in the back. Ok - where do I start. 1st- we were squeezed in a round table instead of putting together 3 squared tables (there was plenty of empty tables), 2nd- it took a while after seating for assistance, 3rd- waitress was nice but misinformed as we had to order 2 types of food because she was told they had run out & then we had piles of food. So we spent most of our time reading the menu rather then conversing. 4th- most importantly water was missing from the table. We were served once and would have appreciated if the pitcher was left on the table because we were too many having spicy food and not enough water. 5th- the cheeseburger was so bad that the college graduate left it, the ribs gave the girlfriend the runs, the chicken gave the wife heartburn & the hubby was the only satisfied one. I do thank YELP for the free shrimp as check-in prop. Maybe it was just not the chefs day. Better luck next time.

Vomitrocious. Low-quality meats cooked poorly at high prices, what's not to like? Oh, how about the generic subpar salad bar. Or the aggressive mediocrity of everything on the menu. The canned decor. Even if you're trying to keep a picky kid or an elderly relative happy by taking them to a safely ordinary chain, you've got better choices even right in Springfield along Baltimore Pike and nearby. You can go lower price point and get equal quality food, or higher price point and get better quality food, and still be in totally "safe" chain-restaurant territory. This is the place to go if you're trying to get Grandma ready for what food's going to be like in the nursing home or you want Junior to fondly remember home-cooking because every time he ate in a restaurant it was as hideously dull and subpar as this chain.

Not a bad place. Salad bar is great and burgers are good too, all the other stuff is just OK. Dinner is a bit pricey for the quality of food.

1 out of 2 stars for Food 0 out of 1 stars for Service 1 out of 1 stars for Cleanliness 1 out of 1 stars for Atmosphere We have been here multiple times. Last night, we took the whole family out for dinner. Everyone politely said their meal was good but I can only rely on my opinion and my boyfriends. We both ordered fish, maybe that was a mistake in a "steakhouse". I ordered stuffed flounder. I'm quite certain that I was served Basa fish. It was on their menu and on their special board. Basa is a catfish like fish and that's exactly what it tasted like. Definitely not flounder. The crab stuffing tasted canned. My boyfriend had fish and chips, it was far better than the "flounder" but was clearly frozen. The best part of Charlie Brown's is the salad bar, guess that's why they feel they can charge $12 for it. The last two times we have been here the waitress can barely be bothered with refilling drinks and asking if we need anything but is in an all fire hurry to clear plates. So much so that I was still chewing the last bite of my salad when my plate was swooped up. My boyfriend still had food in his hand when his plate was taken away! Two different trips this has happened! I would have to blame management for brain washing the servers on this one.

Another of Delaware County's seemingly endless supply of chain restaurants. Have never visited by choice, only out of respect for other family members' choice. At least a dozen trips and have yet to receive a steak cooked to my requested doneness. Salad bar is nothing special and has dwindled in selection over time. Service is the usual for any chain, either too fast or nonexistent and the name of the game is always "up sell." Sad thing is, ask your run-of-the-mill Southern Delaware Countian for a list of their upscale faves and CB's will be right there. Don't believe me? Just go check out the mass of people spilling out the door on weekends.

Our server, Tiffany, was fantastic. Party of 6, she handled us very well. Took orders without writing anything down. Always smiling. We got a free firecracker shrimp for checking in. It was really good. I had the Garlic Bistro Steak. It was great. Meat was tender and well cooked. Salad bar was ok. Not spectacular. Desert was good, but.... My tiramisu had a frozen spot. Tasted great and I was pretty sure they did not make deserts on site. But still a frozen bite was not all that pleasant.

Came for a friends birthday. Upon arrival the hostess was nice. Walked me to the group table and gave us the name of our waiter. Met my friends. Waited for the waiter to show up as it took him away. We also waited for about 6 more people to arrive. 30 minutes later our waiter shows up and takes our drink order. Drinks arrived quick. One of our friends ordered a Long Island ice tea and it tasted like it was sitting their for 30 minutes and had no alcohol. Smh. I got lemonade. No problems there. Lol I did get the free fire cracker shrimp and calamari. The fire cracker shrimp was doughy and greasy. Small and not as pictured in the menu. The calamari was ok. We ordered our entrees. Chicken Marsala, fried shrimp, coconut shrimp and fish and chips. I had the clam chowder as my soup. About 10 minutes after our order was in. The group came. They placed their order 25 minutes after us. Soups came out and those that wanted salad got up and went to a salad Buffet. My clam chowder was watery, bland and not so good. The salads that everyone brought looked good. Our entrees came out and my chicken Marsala was cold. Plate was not hot. Lol. I did get to try a fried shrimp from one of the girls and it was salty and doughy and greasy. I opted to not eat my chicken Marsala because it didn't taste right and it was cold. My friends also ordered the brownie sundae. They said "it was the best thing they are all night." Overall, this place was ok. Not bad and not good. Price is reasonable. Entrees either come with a soup or salad. Service is ok. Could have been faster.

Went to Charlie Brown's for lunch on a Monday. We got there when they first opened, so they were not crowded. Service was great, the waitress ( Bernie) was a lot of fun and VERY helpful. There was an issue with the bartender, so we waited a little while to get our drinks, but the manager apologized, brought them over, and discounted our bill without our asking, which impressed us. The food was pretty good, not Earth shattering, but good ( we were all happy). All & all, it was a good place for lunch. I would recommend.

Decent salad bar with some selections slightly different than the choices for this kind of place. Ordered a NY strip, medium well, which arrived bleeding all over the plate. That steak shouldn't have made it to my table. I usually don't blame the server for this, but a medium-rare steak shouldn't have a pool of blood on top of it. Sent it back and watched my husband make a second trip to the salad bar, then finish his entree. I worked on my soup (which I had to ask about--"Oh, you don't want it with your steak?" What??) When my husband finished his food, I told them to forget my steak and left. My husband then had to wait while our server mixed some drinks before he could get the check. Two servers and a manager on a slow night, and they make him wait after I've walked out?! Thanks for reminding me why I haven't been here in years.

Convenient location, no lines, good service. We got steaks, a bottle of Malbec and the firecracker shrimp app that was a free yelp offer. All the food was prepared well and tasted fresh. The carpet did look a little dingy , but we were seated in a lovely high backed round booth , which made up for any leanings toward "casual" vs fine dining. An all around good meal!

Suburban classy... I like this place, seated immediately on a Sunday at 5:00pm isn't bad at all. You have other choices on Baltimore pike but for a different experience we tried Charlie Brown and actually liked it. Two picky kids enjoyed the free (with yelp check in) firecracker shrimp which is probably a spin off on bang bang shrimp at (bonefish grille) but let's just call it the younger version, shrimp are tinier... yet tasty and they do give you a lot. Food came out fast. our Waitress was new but she was fast, couldn't tell she was new. very cute giant booth we were seated in, not too noisy... I had a garlic crusted steak w mashed potatoes, great! that was after two Delicious Margaritas... yum! everyone enjoyed their meal they are more expensive than famous Dave's or miller ale house but it is more classy.

Went here with girlfriend. Their "14oz ribeye" was a 1cm thick piece of steak that probably weighed half that, precooked. Pretty much impossible to cook medium rare as requested. Salmon special was overcooked and dry. This place used to be a reliable restaurant to get quality steaks done right. I've probably been here 20+ times over the past 5 years, and they did a great job with the steaks. But the last few times have been a disappointment in terms of food quality. I know they can do better because they have, but I've been disappointed too often the last 2-3 visits, and given them the benefit of the doubt. I'll take my hard-earned cash elsewhere.

This is going to be one of those cases where it might have been a better review if I had wrote it when I first went. Multiple visits though, have left me not as thrilled as I once was. Slow service, steak not cooked to temp. requested and just not the level of service to food quality I would be expecting with the price tag. Not a bad selection, but not really anything that "stands out for me" from one of the lesser priced chain stores. Not sure if I'll be back again unless it is by request of someone else in the family.

Pretty solid for Delaware County. Standard steakhouse, with a great salad bar. Infinitely better than the nearby Outback steakhouse but with similar pricing. However, Delaware County's really lacking a good steakhouse, so even if this is probably the best steakhouse around, I've had better steak elsewhere.

Wow, this was bad. And I feel bad for the waiter, because he was so nice to me. But, the salad bar was a mess- food thrown all over the place. It was clear that it hadn't been tended to in hours (this was dinner time). My mom ordered the crab cakes (house special!) but she said there were no discernible lumps of crab, and in fact tasted like fish cakes. They looked pretty sad, I'm not going to lie. My order, grilled salmon, was also pretty bad. It tasted like they microwaved it for at least part of the cooking process. It was not a pleasant flavor. For the price, this was outrageously poor quality food. In fact, when I went home, I got sick from my fish. Will not be going back.

The boyfriend had a hankering for prime rib and neither of us wanted to travel far or pay the big bucks. Believe it or not, Outback is his favorite go-to for a reliable prime rib... and while that was just across the street we decided to try out Charlie Brown's since we had yet to do so since moving to the area. I will start off by saying the decor is nice and cozy and our waiter was attentive but that's where the positives end. The food was a complete miss. We started with the happy hour nachos appetizer. It should be noted that not only was the appetizer half price, but it was HALF THE PORTION. Err... nice try, guys. Anyway... it was pretty gross. Chili from a can, tasteless cheese and guacamole that was almost soupy. It was also served on a plate that was far too small for the portion so we ended up with nachos everywhere. I figured the salad bar was a safe bet but I quickly discovered I was mistaken. While the options were vast, the lettuce was old and very, very watery to the point I had to grab a napkin and pat it dry before I built my salad. I skipped over the mayonnaise-based salads as they aren't really my bag. I liked that they had a few bread options but unfortunately they weren't very fresh. My boyfriend, as he intended, ordered the prime rib and was appalled. He's sort of a prime rib aficionado and thought it was a crime they charge as much as they do for such low quality meat. It's the extreme rare occasion I see him not enjoy prime rib (or any hunk of beef, for that matter) so that pretty much sealed the deal that we won't be returning to Charlie Brown's.

I ate at Charlie Brown's, Woodbury, NJ with a group of family for the first time this past week. My first impression was that the facility was way too dark for my liking, smelled like a men's locker room/dirty socks which leads me to believe that the kitchen is not clean and sanitary. The staff needs better people skills. First of all, there was no one at the door directing us which way to go. After we wandered around and finally found the desk, the young man seating us made negative comments about the restaurant all the way to the table and expected us to read his mind. Several time, I wanted to say, "Speak up. Which way do you want us to go." When our waitress brought our meals, she asked who had which and gave us each the wrong meal anyway. We each asked for water and iced tea. The iced tea came, the water did not. When we reminded her, we received one glass of water for the whole table. Good new is that the food was excellent. I would only recommend Charlie Brown's to others if there was a thorough sanitizing cleaning, better trained staff and more light. What are they hiding with the dark? Perhaps they should contact the Mystery Diners or Restaurant Stakeout TV shows.

I've never had a steak at this location. Decent well priced salad bar, though they took the cold ham, cold turkey and cold steak off the salad bar and replace it with less expensive stuff. Their chopped liver is very good. The assorted cheeses and smaller salads are excellent. I had the crock of chili today, which was decent. It will be perfect to pop in for a chili on a windy winter day. Service and staff are excellent.

OK, for some reason I could not get the name "Beefsteak Charlie's" out of my mind - and indeed, this place takes me back to 1984 - but not in a good way. The good parts? Our server Brian was attentive and kind - and took the overly-salted French Onion Soup off our tab without hesitation - nor us asking. The salad bar is also nice - and very '80's - one whole section is mayonaie-based salads (pasta, potato) so I skipped that part. My friend ordered a "Queen Cut" prime rib - and I had 2 bites of it - he ordered it medium and it actually came out rarer than I had thought it would. It was OK but no flavor to it other than (you guessed it) salt. Do NOT order the French Onion Soup here - it looks great and the cheese/crouton are good - but the beef stock is like eating a salt lick. I could not eat more than a few spoonfuls ($4.99) what a shame! Just OK. Not in a hurry to go back. Strangely enough - with the exception of no "pick and peek" shrimp on the salad bar and no "Free Sangria" (remember that???) this place could be a Beefsteak Charlie's. Ah, the '80's. Childhood. Recaptured. I guess...

Took alot longer to get seated, but it's usually worth the wait. Have been here quite alot, but not recently....I had the new pork loin with garlic mash, an veggies. The picture looked amazing...what I got was 3 huge chunks of dried out pork, on top of cold mash potatoes. I asked about the veggies an she brought out a cup of heated up raw veggies dripping in oil. Very surprised an disappointed. Also ordered the delicious red sangria, however, this time not so delicious, no fruit at all in the pitcher an the wine tasted like it had been sitting out, or was old wine...not sure if will return any time soon....

This had to be the worst meat I have ever received from a restaurant, and the fact it's supposedly a steak place makes that a real crime. Add on top of the debacle that this "prime rib" cost $23.99 for less than a pound and I walked away hurting from the beating I took. The meat was tough, stringy and tasted reheated. I've had prime rib all across the United States, including my own amateur attempts at home and cheap all you can eat bargain basement stuff at buffets, and I've never tasted such poorly done meat. I ended up taking most of it home so I could dip it in some teriyaki sauce and make it edible, the sign of truly bad beef. Sides and salad bar weren't any better. My girl got a salad and nacho appetizer and said they were pretty horrible. In the plus column the staff were nice and the ambiance decent, though they sat us in the bar area for no apparent reason. We didn't ask to sit in the bar section and the dining area was almost empty, so even the ambiance takes a hit. I'll never be getting close to this restaurant again, let alone eating there. A huge swing and miss.

Went there with entire family on Easter. Why have Yelp offers if they aren't honored? They had a "free appetizer" offer excluding sampler, besides the fax that no one even knew the offer existed, they would only allow up to $9.00. Making a big deal over 93 cents means that holidays and nights out will be spent somewhere else.

If you like overpriced mediocre food then Charlie Brown's Steakhouse is for you! To be honest, I've been to this place way more than I ever should have. Because a lot of people probably already know that their food isn't all that great, the wait time is usually pretty reasonable. On a weekend, you can choose to wait an hour or more at the nearby Olive Garden or Outback or get a table here much faster. I have to say that's been the main reason we've chosen it over other local options more often than not. The only thing I have ever kinda liked there is the prime rib but once they hiked up the price sometime during the last couple years, it made the one entree worth going there for not really worth going there for. Plus, the quality of prime rib can vary as wildly as the quality of their service. I don't know the name of the waitress who works the bar area on the weekends, but she's the worst. Anyhow, the last (and final) time I was there, they served me a rib eye steak instead of a queen cut prime rib and the waitress tried to convince me that I was looking at prime rib. If you've eaten enough steak, you KNOW the difference. She took it back under the impression that I wasn't happy with how the 'prime rib' was done. Then the manager comes over and tries to tell me that what I had was, in fact, prime rib (a cut of meat she never saw herself, mind you) but they were making me up a new one nonetheless. Never got an apology from either of them. Oh, and the replacement meat looked just like every other cut of prime rib I've had from Charlie Brown's since it opened and clearly nothing like the rib eye steak they first served me. Anyhow, that was the final straw for me after years of sporadic visits. I gave the place 2-stars because of their salad bar. It's always been the one thing that I do like about the place. But after you finish your salad, you're still stuck with eating their expensive blah food.

Bye bye.
