I hate to give this place 2 stars . It tries really hard. A converted Wendy's filled with kitchy decor, pleasant friendly service but the food was not great. Steak and eggs for breakfast should be easy. The scrambled eggs were kind of "flat" the steak was sliced in some sort of sauce, the home fries were uninspired, even the toast was blah. Missed the mark. I may be back but I certainly will try something else.

Exceeded all expectations! We stayed in the nearby area for few days and tried several places...were very disappointed. We googled places for breakfast and Victoria's Gourmet Cafe was on top of the list. So we tried it...and totally loved it! The place looks nice and clean. The food was fabulous...we had veggie omlet and i came with home fries and toast...everything was the best quality! Two words: HOME MADE! Delicious food, great service! We are more than satisfied:) Thank you and keep it up!

Don't let the outside fool you. Victoria's look to be a converted Wendy's...Go in! A great find for Sunday am B-Fast. 9 am and I was the only guy in the place. Coffee was great! They has an Egg Benedict special and the owner said said he could add salmon or Filet Mignon so I went with the Filet. It rocked! Seasoned Potato's were excellent!

Great Italian food. I wasn't around for dinner, but I'd go back if I was in the area. It was a terrific lunch choice.

Stopped by for breakfast because I was staying in the area. Place makes a really good breakfast. The owners were very attentive to the guests, refilling coffee, and water. The food was all well cooked and they are more than willing to make changes to the menu at the customers request. Hopefully more people will give them a try rather than sticking with the TGIF/Mcfunsters about to support a local place.

Victoria's Cafe is a friendly, if oddly endearing, breakfast spot. My girlfriend and I were on our way back home from a concert in Wilkes-Barre. Since the WB is shuttered Sunday mornings, we stopped in Scranton for breakfast. You'll find Victoria's Cafe on the main street of a blue collar neighborhood just west of downtown. Not has been done to the exterior since its days as a Wendy's. Contrastingly, the inside was a carnival. Iron-rung patio chairs are tucked under large, poured terrazzo tables (with little room left for your legs). Decor is abundant, with two large hat racks that would make a Southern Sunday church blush, and a variety of plants strung with holiday lights. Over top it all was a smooth jazz soundtrack, that seemed to match the look perfectly. It was early on a daylight-savings-time Sunday, so we had the service all to ourselves. It was friendly and fast. My girlfriend and I both had a Belgian waffle, hers with blueberries, and mine with strawberries. The waffle, and its side of bacon, came out lukewarm and slightly undercooked. There was nothing remarkable about the food, but nothing to complain about. I liked that they served the strawberries fresh, instead of candied. The prices were average, as breakfast food goes at diners and the like. Overall, the foodies can stay at home. But, with the friendly staff and "unique" environment, I'm sure Victoria's is a great place to be a regular member of The Breakfast Club.

foul mouth people who made their money the shady way and overcharge for food! Saw someone have an accident in front of their lot and they were cursing at the guy they hit with their car coming out if their parking lot and we're not professional to the young man at a all. They cursed at him and it was the most unprofessional thing I ever saw !!

Don't EVER book a party here! They will tell you one price before the party and at the end will an all these crazy fees that they don't tell you about!! Oh and the service, the worst you will ever get!

This establishment STOLE $70 from us -- we calmly explained that we were overcharged, and in turn the owner went crazy, screaming racial remarks and refusing to return what is rightfully ours. I'd highly advise against going to this restaurant unless you intend to pay only in cash.

Homey establishment with tasty, homemade food. My mom and I were on the road back to Syracuse, NY on a Monday and we were looking for a place with good paninis. This place did not disappoint. I was surprised at the lack of reviews since this restaurant has been around for 8 years. The neighborhood, which seemed to have a lot of Italian establishments, seemed a little run down, but I was pleasantly surprised by this place. On the outside, it looked dumpy, but on the inside it was nicely decorated and had a homey atmosphere. Being a Monday, the place was dead so we were able to choose our seats. I loved how beautiful the table was with inlaid marble-looking flowers. The man and woman who were working were very pleasant. They made sure to make us feel welcome and gave us suggestions as to what to order. My mom and I each began with a cup of lobster bisque for $4 each. It wasn't the best I have ever had, but it hit the spot for a hot, creamy soup. There weren't chunks of lobster or anything special about this soup, but I still found it to have the necessary taste I expected from a lobster bisque. Hence, I really enjoyed it and would order it again. The paninis we ordered and split were the Vilmster ($9) and their famous Chicken Salad ($8). The Vilmster had turkey, provolone, fresh spinach, red onion, bruschetta, and basil pesto sauce. I really liked the sandwich but the flavor of the onions and bruschetta overpowered the taste of everything else. I couldn't even tell there was a pesto on the panini. The bread was the perfect amount of crunch and supported the juiciness of the sandwich quite well. There was a good amount of turkey and the provolone was nice and melty. There was a good amount of all the ingredients but I wish the other flavors shined through more. It was still good none the less. The Chicken Salad panini was my favorite and evidently it is what they are known for. The sandwich had cran-raisins, apples and cooper cheese. The salad was creamy and had nice crunch along with the melted cheese that blended everything together nicely. It was simple yet tasty. To the side, they served macaroni salad and a small bag of potato chips. The macaroni salad was just awful. No flavor and basically just elbows, celery and mayo. I didn't take more than a bite of it. The potato chips made the plate look cheap. It was still in a small chip bag...they could have easily opened them and dumped the chips on a plate to make it look better. Plus, it was unnecessary to have both. Once we were finished with our meals they served us complimentary peanut butter cookies which were yummy and fresh. It was a perfect amount of sweet to satisfy me at the end of the meal, plus it was a nice, unique touch. I give them extra points there. Overall, I enjoyed the place and would come back. The people were friendly and the food was decent. The prices were average for a panini and I definitely did not leave hungry. Service was quick and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a simple, relaxing lunch.

EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL & RUDE! A group of individuals with disabilities stopped to eat here and were extremely overcharged! When we called to dispute the double charges, Victoria (The Owner) called one employee an idiot and hung up the phone! We then proceeded to call again and she hung up a second time. We have all of our receipts and invoices which clearly show they charged us almost $70 more than what we should have initially paid. The next day Victoria called our office after receiving a fax with proof of being over charged. She proceeded to threaten us and used racial slurs on the voicemail!!!!! SERIOUSLY??!? If possible, avoid spending your money at this place! I am appalled by the owner's FOUL mouth and unprofessionalism. Very bad business ethic! No way to treat paying customers. ******THERE ARE 14 OTHER REVIEWS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE THAT WERE POSTED ABOUT VICTORIA'S "GOURMET" CAFE THAT ARE NOT VISIBLE. Nearly all of the reviews are 1 stars! These customers were so upset that they signed up for Yelp just to review this awful restaurant. Here are some telling quotes: "This was HORRIBLE experience! DO NOT EAT HERE!! The food is below average and the service was horrible! The owner has no respect and does not value customers unless they're regulars. The owner is RUDE, ungrateful, discourteous and should not be restaurant owners." -Jodi B. Atlanta, GA "Can I give these people 0 stars please. Horrible. Owners are the worst people ever. Check your bill because they will overcharge you on purpose." -Paul A. Olymphant, PA "Worst service in the entire world. Rude. Verbally abusive. Bumped/hit my 9 mo old and my friends daughter with a broom while they were in high chairs because he couldn't wait until the birthday party was over to sweep. Verbally assaulted a friend in front of children. Said nasty things to children. Overcharged for my friends party. The list could go on forever. NEVER in my life will I ever return here or allow anyone I know to give these animals service." - Mindy F. Enola, PA "I'm still in shock. Called this place today to get a price for a tray of wraps for a baby shower. The woman who answered the phone said if i was just calling places and getting prices so I can compare, that's NOT the way she operates. THEN, she HUNG UP ON ME!!! I called her back and said "you seriously didn't just hang up on me for asking for a price did you"? She said she was going to call the POLICE because I called TWICE. O.....M....G..... SERIOUSLY? I'm speechless." -Kathy C. Hopkinson, MA

I am the Director of a small non-profit that provides travel services for people with disabilities. I recently had a group visit Pennsylvania and they stopped at Victoria's for a meal. I'm in sure if it was inadvertent or not but, our group was double-charged for their meals. When I called to have the charges reversed, the owner, Victoria, was incredibly rude, called one of my employees an "idiot" and then proceeded to hang up on him. When another employee called to continue the inquiry, he was immediately hung up on as well. I would find this behavior deplorable under any circumstances but, stealing from a small non-profit serving people with disabilities is absolutely unconscionable. Avoid Victoria and her fast food dive cum kitschy cafe at all costs.

Highly recommend this charming and healthy place to eat. We had lunch today. Everything was so fresh plus (wonderful choice of tea) was served in good sized mugs, in festive large teapots holding extra hot water, that maintained temperature, to warm yourself against the winter weather. We had the "made from scratch" luscious cup of soup with 1/2 sandwich that came with a side of chips & sample macaroni salad. The proprietor was brimming with personality, cheer & kind words. She made a point of talking directly to my dad who had just got out of the hospital & recuperating. It was so good to see the smile she put on his face & even went the extra mile by giving us homemade peanut butter cookies on the house. A gem of a place, very fair prices, especially for the quality of food we enjoyed. Go and enjoy the food and relax in a lovely setting as well as a great place to chat with friends and family. PS Breakfast was fantastic too. Dad had oatmeal with banana & strawberries, which came to the table, like a work of art. I had a made to order omelet cooked to perfection, with potatoes & toasted Italian bread. Generous portions, I could barely finish and savored every bite. Definitely a go back place for us!

I actually drove right by the place while looking for it. Despite being an old Wendy's, the inside is redone very nicely. Unfortunately for us, it was a dreary morning so we couldn't enjoy the nice sunroom section. Food was okay and waiter seemed very quiet. Maybe it was just the time.

If you haven't been yet, GO! Support this great local Business. What a treat! We took the boys here for the first time for our family Sunday breakfast and we all loved it. The place is brimming with local charm & personality. The owner was our host and he took great care of us crafting "the best ever" Ghiradelli Hot Chocolates and also sharing his world wise views and stories. Everyone was delighted with their tasty and savory food, all freshly made with quality ingredients. We learned about the $5 lunch specials and drive through options. Follow their FB age for more Info. We will be back soon to support this local treasure!

This was the first place in 2 years I haven't had a complaint. Food was excellent. Eggs Benedict was cooked perfect, hollandaise sauce was perfect. Eggs Benedict wasn't on menu but owner was happy to make it for me. He said just ask if it's not on the menu. My wife thought her eggs, bacon and waffle was perfect too. Coffee was good unlike the typical watered down coffee you find in a diner. Coffee had great taste. This is by far the best breakfast in the area. Staff was extremely friendly. Will go back every Sunday.

In a perfect world, every town would have a Victoria's Gourmet Cafe. By that I mean a place where delicious, fresh food replaces fast food. In 2006, Victoria's took over an old Wendy's outlet and has been serving locals and visitors with the motto "Your wish is our main dish" ever since. I was in Scranton for work and after a quick tour downtown, I set out for breakfast. Thankfully, Yelp did not steer me wrong with its suggestion of Victoria's. I was warmly greeted by the owners and truly felt like I was a guest in their home. I had an omelette that was cooked perfectly and served with toast. The service was outstanding! I just love going to a place where you get to talk to the people working there and learn a bit more about the area. VIctoria's fit the bill for me in Scranton. I got to meet some local people and eat some great local food. Let's hope the trend to replace fast food with good food continues. Thank you, Victoria's!

We came to town for a ski weekend and stopped her for breakfast. As others have said, the building clearly used to be a Wendy's, but that is easy to forget once you are inside. It feels like you are walking into someone's home. Our waiter was very sweet and quickly brought us coffees. The pancakes were light and fluffy. The steak and egg sandwiches were delicious and very filling. Coffee was excellent. We were all pretty pleased.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
