We absolutely love PJ Browns. Discovered it after many recommendations from friends. very romantic setting, quaint. the food is not rushed... so it does take a while to prepare to order but it is well worth the wait. BEST mixed drinks I have ever had from a restaurant bar. I highly recommend Ralph's vodka gimlet. we have taken the soups home several times because we just cant get enough. the atmosphere has an old spooky feel to it, which only enhances the magic of the dining experience. we will be coming here often for years to come.

Do NOT I repeat do NOT go here if you are expecting service of any kind! I went to this place with friends recommended by someone who actually knows the owner. It's pretty bad when that person apologized over and over for the horrible service. When I emailed the Resturant I was given no explanation which leaves me to believe they could care less about having you visit this so called restaurant!

Let me start my review by explaining that this is my FIRST-HAND account, based on literally dozens of trips to this restaurant in over eleven years. I would never criticize any establishment without having first-hand experience of it myself. PJ Brown's is my absolute favorite restaurant in the entire world. That must sound ridiculous, but it's true. I have personally watched the chef (who is a man, not a "skinny cook" or a woman") cook the meals, and he makes meals to order. The desserts are home made, and this can also be witnessed through the door. The selection of food here is tremendous, especially for a small town. This is a little restaurant with global tastes. I always start with the stuffed grape leaves and have the British Whiskey Chicken for my entree, though at Lent, the chef kindly prepares salmon "British Whiskey style" for me. ALL of the desserts are home made with the exception of the ice cream, which they also sometimes make. I cannot say whether the restaurant makes locals feel welcome or not, as I do not know. I live in the next town over. I will say, however, that this restaurant is not the absolute cheapest (about $6-$10 for most appetizers and $15-$25 for entrees). Stuffed grape leaves, British Whiskey Chicken, their chicken romano, there Tuscan seafood soup... those are not McDonald's or Eat'n'Park meals, and so they will not be in their budgets. Likewise, service is steady. It is not rushed, but it is not lacking in attention. You receive a dining experience at PJ Brown's, not a "grub and go." The ambiance is also incredible. One room is designed to reflect Rick's (from Casablanca), and other rooms have hundreds of pictures of famous movie stars--a number of which are autographed! Ask the owner about when she worked with Elvis! Give PJ Brown's a try--you absolutely won't be disappointed!

I tend to be the kind of customer that gives the benefit of the doubt. I usually remain quiet but after the service last night, I cannot help but write a review to others know. I know there are many fans of this place. Last night, at the recommendation of a GOOD FRIEND and PATRON of the establishment, our dinner club decided to go since there were good reviews. Unfortunately, our wait was atrocious. It took 3 hours before our table was served our entrees. Our orders were mixed up. Someone ordered a Vodka and got a Gin...2 in our party ordered the same dish...and both received 2 different side dishes (one received rice the other received pasta...though they were never asked what they wanted)...we were given pieces of plain white bread and butter...as we waited and starved. Considering the long wait, they never offered to bring any more. Though I had heard from others that the service was bad and the wait was long...3 HOURS was absolutely unacceptable. What made it worse, was the fact that no one came out and kept us in the loop to let us know that the wait was going to be VERY LONG. If they had done that, we would have ordered an appetizer to hold us over. Fortunately, someone brought a cake for what was going to be a celebration. The hunger was so bad that we had to eat, what was going to be our dessert...as our appetizer. 2 of the people in our group were so upset with the service that they had to leave. What was supposed to be a moment to celebrate and share a good meal with good friends, was tarnished a bit by lackluster customer service. For a place that has been in business for "over 30 years", I am honestly surprised at lack of communication and mediocre service.

Never eaten here, but never wanted to after working with/going to school with more than a few of their employees. Waitress came into shop n save (located across the street) and she was buying multiple pies and cakes. Strange for a girl that looked maybe 110 lbs. She told me she worked at pj's and all they do is dress up the store bought desserts with fresh whip cream and seasonal berries. Which, I wouldn't poo poo if it wasn't for the quality of the stores desserts. Most are made off site, frozen, then thawed for sale. So, yuck. And at least from what my family has noticed, they do not encourage locals to dine here. They only really care about out of towers. My guess is, because we've all heard the rumors....
