Coopers is the best seafood restaurant in the area. The food is just about as good as it gets. My favorite is the sweet potato fries and the seafood linguine. I must say though if you are in a hurry this would not be a good fit for you. It is a relaxed atmosphere but very professional. I have never had a bad server. My children and I go there often.

Waitress was so rude and not very pleasant. Our 8 dollar salad was about the size of a side salad, not worth the price at all. The shrimp tastes like ocean salt water, luckily for the cocktail sauce. The beer(lager) tasted gross and the beer was warm. Overall, it wasn't worth the price, and the food was not worth a second trip to there and the service? Food sucks, service sucks, don't go.

$2 dozen clams. Super bartenders in the Cabana, sitting alongside the Susquehanny. Also had a Caesar salad, which was yummy.

A fine establishment! I went there yesterday and sat in the cabana, the service was great, very helpful. I asked to sample the peach sangria, which was amazing very fresh. We had steamed clams and my fiance and I had three founders beers which were very well priced. The atmosphere was welcoming and fun. I cant wait to go back!

Just the worst. Their seafood is not fresh, the interior is musty and the service leaves something to be desired. Its honestly not even good enough to go for the free birthday dinner. Their crab cakes are all filler, a little tasteless crab meat and a ton of Old Bay. Salmon is overcooked and dried out with little flavor. Not sure how they cook their King Crab legs, but I'm assuming they use 5 lbs of salt per pot, because it was almost inedible the last two times I had it. I grew up within walking distance of Cooper's. It used to be elegant and a great place to take people from out of town. Not sure if it changed owners or the owners just don't care anymore, but they would have to pay me to eat there. Memories of a better time and being mentioned on The Office just doesn't cut it for me.

Worst! I should just leave it at that but I won't! The staff is horrible. They aren't concerned with your needs and once your order is taken they never come back! Better order all of your drinks for the evening at the beginning because it'll be the only one you have. The food was cold the plates were scalding hot and the overwhelming aroma of spoiled lobster filled the air. It almost smelled like metal. I couldn't stand the smell and flagged down 2 separate servers to no avail. Needless to say I will not go back!

I've only been here once on a cross-country trip, but oh my god! I never wanted to leave! Everything there was fantastic! Note...get the crab! To anyone that doesn't live in or near the PIttston area, be sure to save some money and fly or drive out there! It will be an experience you won't forget!

Yelp has definitely been steering me in the wrong direction lately. I drove 37 miles to go here because I was craving some seafood and the Red Lobster just doesn't do it for me. Our service was pretty slow but the crab dip was good. Some places are like "seafood dip" which is questionable to me but this dip was definitely made of crab and good. Our main courses were not very good. The flounder dish said it came with shrimp and from a seafood place you would expect fully grown shrimp but instead there were hard baby shrimp and the flounder did not even taste fresh. The salmon said it was prepared in Jack Daniel's sauce but actually it was just slathered. Prices definitely not worth it.

I was very disappointed in my most recent visit to Coopers. The food wasn't what I expected and the service was horrendous. I broke an unwritten rule of not eating seafood on a Sunday when I stopped in here on Sunday night 26-Feb-12 for dinner. The service started off ominously enough when we waited about ten minutes after we were seated to get a server. It took another 10 minutes to get our beers from the bar. We finally ordered the crab cocktail to start and the shrimp, scallop and lobster special and the lobster Newburg. It took about an hour to get our entrees even though there were maybe 10 other tables seated. The worst part is that during this time, our server stopped by once to drop off the bread and salads. I sat disappointed that I wasn't able to try another beer from the bottle list. Also, we didn't get our crab cocktail appetizer. The server didn't recognize or apologize for her mistake. The food wasn't very good. The lobster tails were tough, dry and flavorless. The shrimp and scallop scampi was pretty tasty though. My lobster Newburg was an odd presentation for this dish. It was inundated in the sauce in that it had more of the feel of a lobster bisque with biscuits rather than a true lobster Newburg. A little restraint on the sauce would have been a better. Again, the lobster was tough and dry. We finally got our check about an hour and forty-five minutes after we started. We only got our check after my friend had to go track down a manager so we could get our check. Thankfully, the crab cocktail wasn't on the bill. I have been to Cooper's on a few occasions and I have enjoyed the food and service. This most recent trip left a lot to be desired, especially because I know they could do so much better.

At the last minute, we wanted seafood and some appetizers. We are so glad we decided to stop here. The service was excellent. They have a good variety of food and drinks. I had the Captain's Feast. The food was delicious. The prices were decent. We shared our food and even had some to take home. The historic photos and decor displayed the local history. We brought a friend from out of state and this experience made us want to go back.

Awful. I've been to Cooper's twice, both times for a family member's birthday. The first time I had a flavorless steak and what tasted like from-a-box mashed potatoes. For around 20 bucks! The second time, I ordered 6 oysters - they were frozen when they were served to me. The waitress was really sweet and got me another half dozen, but that batch was dry and sticky and I decided against ingesting any more of them. I just can't believe they call themselves a seafood restaurant when they freeze their oysters. Gross.

Just moved to the area and saw this place when driving by. Decided to stop with a friend, not great. Had the "famous" Maryland crab bisque - was very gloppy it was so thick, had ok flavor. My friend had the crab stuffed mushrooms - came out piping hot, but not very flavorful. They seem to have good daily deals and happy hour - even on Friday, Saturday and Sunday - including a full bar with a lot of mixed drinks and many beer options. I had "buck a shuck" oysters (part of a happy hour special daily) - seafood was fresh, although the oysters were small. I might return again but for drinks only. Also a comment on the decor - VERY DATED and not in a cute way. We were seated facing the river in a forest with elves and a castle (not kidding). I'm not sure what the relationship this had to a seafood restaurant - more like catering to the under 6 clientele.

The cabana bar used to be nice, but now they charge a cover on weekends so I don't go back. The food has gone down hill drastically, which is sad considering the area lacks seafood restaurant options.

Cooper's is a fun place in a town that has struggled to start making a comeback. The decor focuses on local history with fun touches such as a G gauge train running all around the ceiling, very nice! Food is good. Some excellent, some OK, but all good. Seafood is very good considering the inland location. The beer selection is a-freaking-amazing. Maybe the best in Pittston. I would love to see some more local brews, but overall VERY impressive and worth the visit. Visit Pittston for dinner at Cooper's. You can't go wrong.

I guess for the region, this is considered good seafood. But if you've been outside of NEPA, you'll find that this is average at best. We went for my father's birthday, since you get a free meal on your birthday with photo ID. The service was extremely slow but pleasant. I had ordered crab cakes. The problem was that I had had crab cakes a couple of nights prior at a non-seafood restaurant in Delaware that were excellent. So they were in my memory. The crab cakes at Cooper's were not excellent. They had too much binding and not enough crab meat. My father had the lobster which he said was okay but he has had better. Next time I am craving seafood, I'll have to look somewhere else.

Ordered lobster and steak,Waited over an hour for food. When we got our food the steak was cooked well done when we ordered it medium. We sent it back and was asked if we would like to get another one. After waiting an hour the first time we declined. So we pretty much went home hungry! Service sucks and so does the food. The only good thing I had was my drink.

If you want poor service, mediocre sea food, stale potatoes and awful cole slaw and overpriced drinks, by all means, go here. Especially go for their "free birthday dinner" that generally costs the party more than if you went to red lobster!!

Not a big fan of Cooper's. I have had the opportunity to dine at many seafood restaurants and have been here three times. I think it is a case of bigger fish in a small pond.. If you have never been to a seafood restaurant outside of NEPA then perhaps this might be viewed as ok. Food presentation is blah, it is way overpriced and the quality of fish and shrimp is sub par. I really tried to like this place but could not get close.

Like @ the Scranton location - FREE MEAL ON YOUR BIRTHDAY!!! Again, Bisque of Maryland Crab=AMAZING I actually prefer this location because it feels a bit more low key...same great food, but not as loud and busy as the Scranton restaurant. I like the room that looks like a forest the most; however I do not like sitting at the tables in this room, I only like being in a booth. I felt on display when I sat at a table in this room. Come here, get the bisque of Maryland crab, and you will be very happy.

Went to the Tiki Bar at the Cooper's in Pittston and they had great drinks! Happy hour was M-F 5-7 and it was a good deal with their specialty drinks being half off plus discounts on some beers and the buckets. The biggest complaint was that the servers were very slow to get round of drinks to our group, it was busy on a Friday night but the servers were often seen just chatting behind the bar.

A NEPA institution and a birthday tradition (free dinner on your bday as long as someone in your group buys an entree, photo id required)! Came here for my birthday and happily was seated in the bar area instead of the forest room. I know a lot of people like that room, but Christmas lights and fairy dolls are not my cup of tea. Although the "landlubber" fare is good, you come here for the seafood! Had the petite lobster tail dinner and it was delicious (who wouldn't enjoy lobster and butter??). My friend and I split the crab dip for an appetizer (crab meat and cheese that is then baked and served w/salsa and tortilla chips). I normally get the stuffed mushrooms (also v. good), but the crap dip was delicious! Cooper's is also know for its soups, too. My friend had one of the specials and I tried one of the fried sea scallops. That was honestly the best thing I ate at that meal! I can't wait to go back and get the scallop dinner. Also, they have a pretty good bartending staff (if you come just for drinks, the Tiki bar is a cool spot w/beautiful river views). I tried a "Release valve" and enjoyed that, too. If you want seafood in NEPA, go to Cooper's.

This is a really nice place with lots of options, not just seafood. I had the maryland crab cake bisque which was very good, a bit thick for a bisque though. They serve bread before the meal and have a great local orange cream soda. The forest room is unique and would like to have been there in the summer to enjoy the apparently good view. We were there at night and only a few tables were there besides us. Unfortunately in PA you can still smoke in restaurants but this place had no one smoking when we were there. They have lots of interesting old photos of Pittston on the walls. I would definitely recommend this place.
