Delicious breads are a given, but their food is also very delicious - I had the fish and chips, and they were fried to perfection - crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside.

Eaten here a lot. The brunch is the best meal here. Everything is pretty good for brunch - but its pretty expensive and I would prefer to go to Dereks right down the street for the same price, and better food. The dinner and lunch menues are lacking, not many choices. The best thing I have had are the fish tacos! Things also come out wrong, and the service isn't the best. Its pretty underwhelming. As I said above, its a little expensive for what you get, and you'll get a better meal at Derek's or Jakes or Agiato which are all only a few steps away.

My daughter and I went for Sunday brunch which, and not to stray from this review but I probably will, should be all about tasting. Restaurants that don't offer a buffet are simply selling breakfast. A brunch buffet is not to encourage the opportunity to stuff ones self but to be able to sample a variety of delictible bites. One reason I just love the emerging "tasting" or chef's menus. I've wanted to say that for so long. So with it finally out of my system, I can move on! The wait staff is amazing. I hope the powers that be appreciate them! I have to say, the main reason Winnie's is getting 5 stars is the Bloody Mary which was just wonderful. In fact, the second most wonderful in my lifetime and, believe me, I am not exaggerating! I love Bloody Marys. It's my favorite Sunday morning drink, other than coffee, and they have it nailed. The only thing I would add is a rim of Old Bay but still amazing. We both ordered the Eggs Benedict. I asked for mine with the twist of a crab cake. Mistake. It was frozen and tasting like it had been frozen for some time prior to being on my plate. I should have known. On a brighter note, the Hollandaise was delightful. Perfectly balanced with just the right amount of lemon. But let me talk about the side of sausage. Tasty, smokey, porky, spicey and wonderful. Order it if you go. Enjoy!

I was underwhelmed by our entire meal at Le Bus. We met friends there on Friday and, while crowded, we were seated right away. Basically, nothing in the entire meal, service included, stood out as being anything but mediocre. My girlfriend got a fancy drink (for $9!!!) and it was pretty bland. My friend and I both got beers from the acceptable-but-short list of beers on tap. The food was really where there was much to be desired. My burger was flavorless, my girlfriend's crab cake was a bit off tasting from what I usually expect. I do not remember what my friends got, but they weren't overly impressed. The best part of the meal was the 4 tiny slices of bread they gave as an appetizer. That was very good though, we could have used a lot more. I certainly will not be hurrying to return when I am in the area. Especially not for that cost!

Food was good but bar service could have been better. Greeted kindly at the door before taking a seat at the bar for brunch. Sat at bar for 15 min before being greeted. There was only one other couple was at the bar, who came in after me, and was greeted and received drinks before acknowledging I was sitting waiting to be helped. The blonde bar tender proceeded to greet other guest who began to arrive shortly after as if I was not there. The younger brunette bartender was kind enough to finally greet and serve me when she realized I hadn't even received a menu. Had I not enjoyed the food so much my last time I would have left. I'm sure being the youngest individual sitting at the bar the older blonde bartender assumed I was not worthy of service, assuming she would not get tipped well. The lack of service due to whatever prejudice is a reflection on the establishment. I was left with a bad taste after this visit.

Went to brunch with my girlfriend. Drinks were great and bartender was very attentive to us. Place has a great selection of craft brews including lagunitas! Had delicious bread to munch on before our food. Meal was delicious and well prepared. Place was busy but thats typical on sunday brunch for the area. Place is definitely worth a second visit and I recommend to anyone who is looking for good food and brews.

This place can get pretty busy on a weekend night. Despite that we had fairly attentive service from the waitress. It was nice to see that the vegetarian options were actually displayed on the menu instead of hidden in the depths like they usually are. I was very thankful for that. Additionally, it's nice to see that the vegetarian options are just your average house salad. Creativity is important. However, I do have on major bone to pick. I order the brown rice nut salad. Despite feeling like it was a very guiltless meal I also felt hungry. In comparison to the other meals order by my table mine looked like an appetizer. Also, given the fact the meal lack loads of vegetables I don't understand the price versus the portion size offered. I plan on going back in the future to try other vegetarian options. But, I was disappointed by the brown rice nut salad.

I had the chance to enjoy some outside dining at Winnie's and I left very happy. Ashley was our server and she was very friendly. I had the mussels which were delicious and sipped on some great cocktails! Can't wait to go back!

Great little place. Awesome sandwiches, a good drink selection, and some seriously-excellent fries. They're also dog-friendly and were happy to get my pup a bowl of water after our long day outside.

Can't say a single bad thing. Our server was great; very nice and respectful -- just wish I remembered his name to call him out on this directly. The veggie chili was great, really flavorful for a vegetarian dish. Sangria was beautifully presented. Entrees are a little pricey but overall great experience

The wings are delicious as well as the sangria can't wait to go back with my girls for happy hour 5 to 7... loved the atmosphere!!!

Update! Most of my previous comments still stand - but they have made some improvements. If you're in a hurry for lunch check out the togo section. You'll save money & time perusing the fridge in the bakery nook where you can buy pre-made salads, wraps, & soups. Crave-worthy brown rice nut salads are only $7.50 (vs $11 sit-down) - you miss out on some extra whole wheat pita but the good stuff (brown rice, almonds, walnuts, raisins, carrots, celery, peppers, tahini dressing, & hummus) is all there. Special thanks to the speedy gal who checked me out today - what a refreshing change of pace!

I went here with my aunt and uncle for lunch while waiting for some more family to get in to Philadelphia. Cute little restaurant in Manayunk with a good variety of breakfast and lunch food. I got the hamburger and thought it was good. It came out hot, juicy and cooked to order. My aunt got a chicken sandwich and enjoyed it, although, thought had too much bread to it. My only complaint is that the steak fries that came with the meal seemed to be less than a side dish's worth. Wait staff was friendly for sure and prices were reasonable

    (4)
  • Philly B.

Cozy atmosphere with a great staff. Good food - even the cheddar burger. Prices are similar to other Manayunk restaurants, slightly higher. Drink menu options are average but you will find something you like.

Always good food and amazing service! I highly recommend Winnie's for breakfast/brunch any day! There is a variety of options and amazing egg deals. Although it can be pricey compared to most, it is definitely worth it!

Cane here for lunch and really enjoyed the food. I tried the lobster Mac and cheese and it was great. The waiter did an awesome job at making suggestions (he suggested the Mac and cheese) and I never had to wait for him to refill my drink. The place was nice and quiet with quality food, I'll definitely be visiting again.

I am extremely disappointed in my experience at Winnie's this morning and it is 100% due to the manager on duty. I showed up at 10:00 am with a party of 15 after our morning soccer game. We were sat at a table right away (we had some kids in the group so we didn't feel appropriate sitting at the bar) and the waitress came around and took our food and drink orders. Every adult at the table ordered alcohol (at least $8.50 each) and half of the table ordered food, with the expectation that more would order food later. I want to point out that there were several open tables around us and there were lots of open seats at the bar. Immediately after having our order taken, the tall, skinny manager with glasses came over and asked if we were ordering food. He proceeded to tell us that tables are typically reserved for people ordering brunch and reprimanded us for sitting at a table and taking up so much space. First, this is ridiculous. If this is their policy, they should have asked this question BEFORE we were seated (by their staff) and not after our order was taken. Second, half of our party were ordering food and we were spending a fortune on drinks - it would not have been a small bill. Third, the manager then proceeded to tell us that his reason for asking us to move was that "he has a responsibility to his owner." I'm sure his owner won't be happy about the loss of a multi-hundred dollar food and alcohol bill. We, of course, got up and left due to this manager's rudeness and went to the Bayou where we were seated, served and not treated like adolescents. I am disappointed in the treatment we received because I was looking forward to the kiwi mimosas.

Winnie's has great brunch! Their homemade corn bread with their jelly is such a wonderful touch before your meal. I've been here several times but after my experience on Sunday I figured it was time to write a review! The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is warm and charming. This past Sunday the manager was very attentive and checked with us many times to make sure our food was up to par. I got the blueberry pancakes and my boyfriend got a bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel (which isn't on the menu but they made anyway). Both were excellent, and my boyfriends sandwich was one of the nicest looking breakfast sandwiches I have ever seen. On a sunny morning, Winnie's is the place to be. Always a clutch spot. The only con I would say is that it can get a little tight during busy hours. The bloody marys and coffee are good as well!!

  • Mike T.

We went for brunch during the Arts Festival. The bloody mary was great. It's made with bacon infused vodka and comes with a slice of bacon. This is not a complaint because I like a spicy bloody mary, but the spice completely masked any bacon flavor. There were also floaters of bacon fat. So I would much prefer a regular vodka bloody mary with a slice of bacon. Food was average. Not great, but totally acceptable. I'm sure it was busier than normal but that's no excuse for handling the waiting list in the manner that they did. They completely botched it. Wait times were 40 minutes and they were telling everyone you have to be here when your name is called. By "here" they mean inside of the restaurant. At any given time there were 25-30 people standing awkwardly in a small area by the door. Two hostesses were yelling out names. JAMES PARTY OF THREE. JAMES PARTY OF THREE. When James didn't show, they'd move to the next name on the list. Come on! We're trying to enjoy our meal and we have two employees screaming repeatedly. Buy one of the buzzer systems or get an iPad. It's 2012.

Just like other reviewers in here, I feel that this place was not impressive at all. I ordered the 6 grain pancakes with blueberries and it was not impressive at all. For 3 pancakes that cost about $12.00, I was disappointed. I felt they were too thick and doughy. If they were $6.00 then at least I would've been able to justify it. I don't mind paying high prices for food, but it has to be good and big just mediocre. My friend got the eggs Benedict and that was once again, ok. The bread that they used was like a roll instead of an English muffin or on French bread. It would've been much better if they used a different bread. The service was pretty good but I felt the waitress was rushing us.

Came for lunch and was delighted to see that the place was busy but not packed so we were seated right away. Our server was wonderfully attentive and seemed genuinely happy to answer questions and bring us what we needed, which is so refreshing. Our lunches were equally as impressive...BLT'S and turkey clubs...not fancy menu items, but they were fresh, tasty, and attractively presented. The unsweetened raspberry iced tea was so good it (almost) didn't need sweetener! We didn't have dessert, but my dining companion confided that the brownie dessert they serve is decadent and delicious.

Best brunch I can find, hands down. Wish their mimosas were more budget friendly but I got over that. Banana walnut pancakes are my favorite. They have a great homemade veggie burger too! I love the decor and always look forward to coming here for brunch.

So I would give 3.5 stars to this place so, to give Le Bus the benefit I will give this meal a 4 star review. Visiting friends who just moved to this area, they bought my bf and I here for a late lunch, as we missed the brunch menu. The service was prompt and cheery. I ordered the something or other Colorado salad with avocado. It was delicious, fresh and was not huge but, perfectly sized. The free bread basket was filled with a variety of breads to try and they waitress refilled it happily. This place had a cute decorum with lots of light and space. Again, we came later in the afternoon so the place was pretty empty and not quite dinner crowd. They seemed to have a pretty good craft beer list on draught and overall I probably wouldn't come here again since there are so many other places to try in this awesome foodie place, people like to call Philadelphia (and outlying areas) but, still enjoyed this place enough to say if you are on Main Street in this cute little neighborhood most definitely stop in and try for yourself.

Their veggie burger is just okay. Considering the price point and the good things I've heard about this restaurant, I really was expecting more. At least the service was solid. I also wished they had vegan bread options.

Best brunch in Manayunk! Great atmosphere with many decorations of rowing and such. They bring you two different kinds of bread with butter and the bread is freshly baked and still warm. Can't wait to go back

I really have to admit, Winnie's Le Bus is a must visit on Main Street. Upon walking in, you can just tell this is someplace different. Every inch of this place is warm and welcoming. The servers are always smiling and the managers or owner is always walking around making sure everything is just perfect. The food is amazing, from the teriyaki wings to meat loaf (spectacular) or crab cakes, everything is delicious. Beer selection is great as well. Very cozy atmosphere, great for a date, or for a large party. I've been there for brunch once, everything was perfect. I've been there for dinner and drinks many times and will continue to go back. One of my favorites, and the best of Main Street.

  • Tyler C.

We came here with a group of nine people on a Saturday night. Manayunk has no shortage of great restaurants, although when you're looking for something in-between the higher price tag of a Derek's and the lower priced, but rowdier atmosphere of a Bayou Bar and Grill, this place satisfies everybody. Winnie's has a good selection of reasonably-priced burgers and salads, as well as a good selection of $20+ well-portioned entrees. I almost got the meatloaf but ended up getting a veggie burger somehow, which was okay. Probably could have made a better choice. I would describe the interior as having a warm, wood-and-brick kind of log cabin homey feel. Nice but nothing too ritzy, with a half-circle bar right in the center of things. The service was great; they had our table a half hour early so those of us who got there first could sit down. Server was friendly and not too hover-y. If you happen to go during the fall, ask for the pumpkin soup. Definitely the highlight of my meal!

I stopped in here yesterday night for some dinner and drinks after the famed bike race. I visit the LeBus in center city almost daily and love everything they make, so I figured I would love Winnie's too. Not so much. In a nutshell, I wasn't hungry so I just ordered the sangria, which was way overpriced at $9. I decided to suck it up because I love sangria but really what I got was a glass of juice. You can see it sitting in glass dispensers behind the bar with a ton of fruit, but they don't give you any of the boozy fruit - the best part - in your glass. On to the food - the menu is a little all over the place with calamari, salads, fish tacos, pasta etc, and everything seemed to be overpriced here too (fish tacos are $20?). My friends ordered cheeseburgers and when they came out the runner didn't know which one was which, and then decided to take a wild guess, which was wrong. The orders they were given were not only switched but incorrect, so we had to wait for the server to come back to help us and then ask that they be corrected. They were willing to fix it but did not apologize once, making it feel like it was our fault, and no compensation was given even though we all had to wait for them to be made again. I would chalk all this up to craziness from the bike race but they weren't even that busy. Our waitress was sweet but overbearing at times and seemed very new. I guess I'll just stick with my center city spot.

Heard Winnies was under new management so decided to give it another try. Boyfriend really wanted brunch. Flowers on the table were terrible, they smelled funny and so did the dirt in the pot they were planted in. Doesn't exactly make you want to eat more. Completed order. Got bread, no butter. Generally not a big deal except server never came by to check how things were to even ask until right before our actual order came out. Which btw was FOREVER. i ordered pancakes..that doesnt take 30+ minutes.Anyhow, only managed to get 1 pancake down. Idk, just wasnt doing it for me.. After getting home, proceeded to get ill.. Awesome. Didnt make it in to work the next day. Thanks Winnies!

I drive 40 minutes to come here for breakfast! The menu offers a lot to choose from, but I will ALWAYS get their 6-grain pancakes.....you won't find better pancakes anywhere on Earth! And their coffee & complimentary bread is fantastic!

Currently enjoying a Sierra Nevada Torpedo at the bar. I love this place. Of all the spots on Main St, Le Bus really has a Manayunk decor. It pays homage to the crew races with the "kayak" right over the bar and also has some bike race art work. This place has a very clean, classy appeal but still feels casual. Although its not a bar, and their focus isn't on craft beer, their 6 rotating taps always have something I love. The Sunday brunch here is always a good bet, but I also enjoy coming here for dinner. The nachos here are really good if you're just looking for a tasty snack!

It was Valentines and we never thought about or cared about a reservation until we were already on main street. My kid is well behaved and we would have been happy to let him partake in slightly more upscale dining at any one of the restaurants on main street had there been seating available (turns out, everyone made reservations for Valentines). So, we ended up here. This place is kid friendly with a kid's menu (minus one star for almost having NOTHING green on it, which I expected since they have healthier-than-standard options) and something to color. However, it's not kid friendly to the point where couples and groups without kids can't dine in peace (there were plenty of those groups and couples). Our hostess was super sweet and upbeat and had the table we wanted cleared right away. The atmosphere is cozy...cute and organized. The food was better than average. I had a pear salad--Amazing. Vegetarian chili--about a 7. The husband had grilled chicken--it was good but pricey in my opinion. (It was somewhere in the vicinity of 18-20$.) The other star I was going to take away is because of expensive adult bevies. $12 for a chocolate margarita and $9 for standard dry red. I gave that star back though because I asked for my wine in a paper coffee cup and not an eye was batted.

Although nothing special with a limited menu but I suppose stick to what you know because the food is great! Service maybe 3 stars. Ambience: amazing. I love the brick walls and the art in the restaurant it was like being somewhere special although crowded it has a great vibe going on in there. Fresh squeezed oj and lox Benedict fabulous. My boyfriend had a special bananas foster pancakes great but a bit overly sweet. Definitly will be going back for breakfast but maybe on a weekday instead of a Saturday morning. Ps they used to have a Cuban sandwich on the menu o crave in my dreams hope they put that back

Went for dinner and had wine first...great collection of organic wines!!! Additionally, the menu has some basic items like grilled wings that were not too hot and just right...then a grilled chicken sandwich was perfect while the oriental noodle salad was great and THE SERVICE WAS REALLY PERFECT... OVERALL JUST PERFECT FOR WHAT IT IS...NOT PRETENTIOUS.

Le Bus has delicious food and a great wait staff. I've never had a bad experience there with anything I've ordered and every waitress I've had there has been both friendly and helpful. Everything they sell is locally grown and fairly healthy, and that's a big plus, especially when you compare it to many of the other food options on Main St. in Manayunk. The best meal they serve is brunch; they have a large menu and everything on it is delicious. Also, they give you unlimited fresh bread and homemade jam (which almost bumps them up to five stars!). The reason I'd give them four stars instead of five is because I wish they had a larger lunch and dinner selection. You can get a great burger or salad (as well as some good vegetarian options), but I find that with a limited menu I find myself turning to the same things again and again. I wish they expanded their menu.

Yum yum in my tum. I've been here for brunch and dinner. The bread basket and jam is always great to nibble while you wait. So far so good on the service and the food. Complimentary champagne to all for New Year's Eve dinner which is a nice touch.

Excellent service from friendly and pleasant wait staff. Breakfast was great...omelet was perfectly cooked, fresh ingredients. Raisin and walnut bread was flavorful and served with a housemade berry preserves. Seasoning on home fries was not overpowering and have just the right amount of flavor. Multigrain pancakes with fresh blueberries were filling and served with pure maple syrup. Atmosphere is relaxed and ideal for a summer day brunch or lunch. Pricier than typical breakfast fare but quality of service and freshness was worth it. Would definitely go again!

I'm going to start with the good things about this place. Went there around 10 on a Sunday, were seated promptly and food came out very quickly with friendly service. My Bloody Mary was absolutely delicious, As were their sausages and bacon. now for the negative: When my eggs Benedict with spinach came out they were overwhelmingly "meh". There was absolutely no flavor to the hollandaise sauce or eggs themselves actually. they just tasted like the mushy bread the eggs were on top of. The eggs came with a side of potatoes which were pretty good not amazing but good enough, And a "side" of fruit which consisted of a tiny thin slice of cantaloupe and a piece of pineapple. The pancakes my boyfriend got were good but very average. I am sure they must have good things on the menu as they are usually busy and it has a pleasant atmosphere. Maybe it was just an off day... But I'm not sure I'll be back any time soon

This place is awesome. Everything from the food to the decor to service. The honey chipotle wings were very very good. I had the stuffed pork chop as my entree and my date had the lobster Mac. My dish was basically thanksgiving on a plate. It was very delicious. The lobster Mac could have used a little more lobster, but it was still delightful. The only knock I would give on Winnie's is that out server didn't know much about the food. She said that there was a few new items but she didn't taste them. All in all, a great experience and I'll definitely be back.

One of my favorite places for dinner and drinks, especially late on weeknights when parking is easy. The food is always fresh and delicious. They have some very creative creations. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about wine parings. The decor is also very modern and clean. Seating is quaint and intimate. It makes for an excellent date spot.

Went here on Thursday night in September. Not very crowded so we were easily able to get a seat outside. Wine list was reasonable. Bread basket was a nice mix of yummy things. Risotto was fantastic. Hummus plate was OK, not enough pitas to dip into the hummus, but we used table bread. Service was OK. Overall this place was OK.

Great lunch spot! Enjoyed the bean soup and chicken salad was delicious. Sounds boring but the presentation was unique. My husband indulged in the Cuban sandwich and he said there was a pickle hidden inside, not dill not sweet. More like a cucumber. He loved it and the fries were yummy! The sangria was really good with cranberries and sliced apples along with a cinnamon stick. My husband also had the pumpkin cheese cake with Creme fresh. Yes, we ate like it was dinner! We'd been traveling all day. Service was prompt and food came quick & hot.

I used to really like Le Bus for brunch, as they offer a solid selection of both breakfast and lunch items, drinks, and best of all: homemade breads and jams! This weekend, I ordered a special: Ahi Tuna Burger. It sounded so good, with lettuce, tomato, shallots, honey mustard, and some other things I can't remember... all on a homemade whole wheat Le Bus bun. The server was a doll and asked if I wanted it rare or medium rare (rare is the only way I like ahi tuna). Out comes the burger... it is fully cooked and actually resembled a turkey burger. The server was a little skeptical that it wasn't a turkey burger and checked with the kitchen - yup it's the tuna burger. I could tell she was surprised as well. The manager came out to check up on me 3/4 of the way through our meal and offered a different dish. No thanks. I ate my cooked tuna burger - while it tasted fine, it wasn't what was represented on the menu - and he didn't even discount our bill. Le Bus, you let me down this time. I'll still probably return for your cornbread but I'll be sure to stick to the tried & true menu items!

Like this place but I have some hesitation as they have a gluten free menus but I'm not sure how accurate it is when accounting for cross contamination. Great place got brunch but the mimosas and Bloody Mary's can get expensive.

Love love love Winnie's for brunch! I've been there so many times, you'd think I would get sick of it. They have a pretty small brunch menu, but it is quality! Their mimosas are really good - the best is their elderberry mimosa. It's a little bit bitter from the grapefruit, but has a light elderberry taste that makes it very refreshing. My friends and I have tried all of their mimosas at this point - the sunrise mimosa is also very popular - a nice spin on the classic. As for best brunch meal - the Eggs Benedict are just right. The hollandaise sauce isn't too heavy, but has all the flavor you're looking for. My new favorite is their breakfast frittata - the one on their specials menu this summer is fresh and has a lot of delicious veggies in the mix. My friends have tried their oatmeal, the french toast, different omelettes. Everything has been really really good! Also, make sure you get their bread - it is always hot and goes very well with the jam they serve in a jar. My friends and I love the cute ambiance, tasty drinks and good service!

The bread is good. Duh. But the dinner menu was totally scattered and the prices were too high for what they were offering. $8.75 for calamari, but $9.75 for vegetarian nachos? Do you want hummus? Mussels? Tilapia? Meatloaf? Thai Turkey Salad? (What??) My boyfriend and I shared the special appetizer ("homemade" chicken taquitos which were tasteless) and the Blue Colorado salad, which was the most redeeming part of the meal. It had asparagus, grilled corn and bleu cheese-- honestly delicious. They even split it on two plates for us...and then charged us $1.25. Whatever. Skip the restaurant- I'd rather just eat the bread, which I can get in my own neighborhood at the little Le Bus shop on 18th and Walnut. These are the rolls that are worth your daily carb allowance, trust me.

Whenever anyone comes in to visit, I always go to Winnie's for brunch. Their menu can satisfy the pickiest eaters and they have some lovely champagne cocktails (my favorite has St. Germaine). Even though it is always very busy, the longest I've ever waited for a table has been five minutes, which is a big plus with kids.

It's good, but not excellent. My omelette was very good, but the potatoes were a bit cold (and we were there before the rush). My sister's Egg's Benedict had a grilled hamburger bun rather than an English Muffin, which she didn't like. Bloody Mary's are, again, good but not great. Definitely not so bad that I won't go back. Solid place for brunch and looking forward to trying other meals there also.

Tried Winnie's for Sunday Brunch and was very impressed. Be prepared to wait though (Try and get there early if possible). Food was outstanding. I tired the French Toast and my GF had the Eggs Benedict, both were very good. Drinks were also top notch. I had the bacon-infused vodka Bloody Mary, which was delicious (and had a nice bite too). Bread basket was a nice touch too. Be prepared to open your wallet though, because it is a bit pricey....

I went for brunch here with a friend on the Monday of Memorial Day Weekend and it was solid. I had an omelette with ham, spinach and mushrooms, and a side of bacon. The omelette was massive! They do not skimp on portions here, and good thing since I was very hungry. All omelettes come with roasted potatoes, two slices of pinapple and a slice of cantaloupe. The potatoes were excellent, perfectly cooked and come with (what I think is) finely diced onions and peppers. The fruit is a nice touch as well. The bacon was ok, nothing spectacular. We ate outside and the service was top notch despite doing so, my experience with outside service in the past has not been good so it was refreshing to have an attentive server. All in all, it was a good meal and hit the spot! I'll be back here for sure whenever I'm in the area.

The perfect example of a restaurant that fails to live up to the hype. Super slow service mixed with below average value (food quality for cost). The atmosphere was decent, but hardly made up for the downfalls. As I frequent Main St, I'd recommend you pass on this place, as better alternatives are a short walk away.

Ho hum. Nothing bad for a Saturday breakfast. Just unispired all around. Uninspired food. Uninspired service. Better off to save 25% and go down the street to the Manayunk Diner or the Llanarch Diner.

YES! YES! YES! This place has what I like to call, "Reality based drink prices". Went here for brunch this morning just before catching the train back to NYC, and had a good, quick brunch. I was about to get the eggs Florentine, but my last eggs Benedict experience(in Long Branch, NJ) was terrible, so I had to make up for that so I could move on to something else. So I got the eggs Benedict w/ lox. It came out, I sent it back, "Where's the lox?". They sent it back, it came right back out, and it was explained to me that the lox was under the eggs. Hmmm. Alright, you know how big poached eggs are. I lifted up the eggs, and wow, there was a teaspoon sized piece of Salmon under each one. Five extra dollars well spent, I though, lol... It came on brioche instead of the simpleton English muffins, which was a nice change. The potatoes were salted to inedibility. And the lox itself was "on the verge". Still servable, but definitely not fresh. Overall, it was okay, but the Bloody Mary did ease the minor flaws. My Father-in-law had the Florentine with egg whites, and it looked great. Nice colorful plate. And my wife had a good looking salad with chicken. They even brought out a sliced up banana for our infant. Now back to those "Reality based drink prices". There's nothing like starting off the day with a Bloody Mary made with bacon infused vodka, and garnished with a slice of bacon. $8 for a PINT... E-I-G-H-T---D-O-L-L-A-R-S, that's unheard of in NY... Oh, and P-I-N-T, we're lucky to get a tumbler glass full of ice here... So all was good here, just two downfalls: The small, sour pieces of lox under my eggs, and the waitress has an infant too, and she started talking to my wife and the waitress started with the poop talk while we were still eating. I would compare it to one of those cathater commercials coming on the tv while you're eating.. Gross, but I highly doubt she talks poop cleanup with everyone.... Oh, and the fresh bread they bring out? Awesome!

Le Bus was a hot spot for us St. Joseph's kids. It was a decadent carbo load that didn't overwhelm our wallets. Also, I'm a sucker for flower paintings and Le Bus has like 8 of em. 5 years later we decided to return to our old faithful during the Manayunk Arts Festival. The bike jerseys hung off the ceilings, the same sunflower paintings donned the walls...which is kind of insane - somebody buy one they're beautiful! Boo and I grabbed seats at the bar easily. Despite the hub-bub in Manayunk the place wasn't horrible crowded. I ordered a Winnie's fave: The Thai Turkey Salad...and boo got the salmon burger. 45 minutes later (yes.) I got my salad. I am pretty sure the bartender forgot about us, and lost us in the midst of the 6 other people sitting at the bar that he was serving with his co-bartender. The food was still good...my salad was a little overdressed but since it's noodles it could handle it better than lettuce could. I just was not impressed by how long it took to put a salad together.

"Meh I've experienced better" sums it up perfectly. Came in for brunch on my way out of town with my boyfriend, 11:30am on a Wednesday morning. Not too busy. I ordered the huevos rancheros, "scrambled eggs" with salsa, guacamole, sour cream etc. The "scrambled eggs" tasted like a frozen egg omelet and were soggy. I'm 99% sure they are most definitely not fresh cooked eggs, which is sad, because as a breakfast place, make your own eggs. Cornbread, served cold. And the service, while speedy, was not good. Our waitress was almost sarcastically nice, and I found her rude, curt and unpleasant (while she oh so nicely chatted up the table next to ours). I almost asked her if she had some sort of problem with us (for no reason what so ever, as we had never met before). She was snarky and dropped our food and ran. This place is EXTREMELY over priced. My soggy non-scrambled-not-eggs were $11!!!!!! And they came with a serious attitude. I wanted to leave her a $2 tip with a note explaining that as a server your tips are a direct reflection of your personality but my boyfriend persuaded me not to. Wish I got her name, because management should definitely know how unpleasant she made our experience and that I would not return solely based on how she treated us. I will say she was short, on the heavy side and middle aged-ish with dirty blonde hair. Seriously, I almost asked for a different server I found her so abrasive. Their only saving grace were their banana pancakes, which were delicious.

raisin bread that was superb.. accompanied by butter and orange marmalade.. yummm I ordered a ceasar salad.. yes yes I know.. not hard to mess up but I Was caught up between the pancakes and the veggie burger so I went with something totally different.... the salad had the perfect dressing to lettuce ratio.. the croutons were fresh made.. which is a + .. and the lettuce was nice and crisp... we randomly stumbled upon this place.. after I biked to east falls and my friend drove to manayunk because all the bars in east falls near her were closed @ 1 in the afternoon on a sunday ! hahaha.. and they have plenty of veggie friendly options on the menu which makes me happy to have a plethora of things to choose from instead of just 1 or 2... all in all I'll be back.. for something not so easy to get right.,.. I just have a thing for that bread..niceeeeeeeee

Been coming here for years. Had the meatloaf which I enjoyed. My friend has peach sangria which she enjoyed so much, she went back for seconds. My only complaint was that when we asked to have things boxed, we were handed boxes instead of having it boxed in the kitchen. Its just a nicety that I tend to look for in a restaurant. Bread basket is nice, especially the cornbread.

Le Bus may be the restaurant that I miss the most since i left Manayunk. Always enjoyed weekend brunch (get there early, it gets packed) and weeknight dinners.

Winnie's is decent, but not great. My party most recently sat outside, ordered drinks, an appetizer, a salad, a small plate, an entree, and a kids meal. The review: The sangria was not good at all. Very little alcohol--little enough that the drink barely tasted different than a cranberry cocktail from the grocery store. Additionally, there was SO much ice in the pitcher of sangria we ordered, that the amount of sangria we got was disappointing. We asked for more sangria with less ice, and the waitress complied; however, it is disappointing that the management is trying to get by with giving so little. Meanwhile, the pitcher of sangria, once we asked for less ice and more sangria in the carafe, gave us 4 full glasses of sangria, that is all. Without asking for more, it probably would have yielded only enough sangria for 3 glasses. The appetizer was a flatbread special. It was slightly soggy and over-topped with ingredients. Many flavors, but over-sauced and little subtley. Also a little soggy. The salad was a pear salad. The flavors were good, but only three slices of pear were given for the pear salad, and at that--they were VERY unripe. So hard that my wife didn't even eat them. The entree was a burger. This burger was generous in size, very tasty on nice ciabatta bread. However, as another reviewer has pointed out--they advertise the burger as being served with steak fries. These are plain french fries--not thick-cut wedge/steak fries as would be expected with this description. Additionally, I ordered my burger to be cooked medium (knowing if I ordered it medium-well, it would probably come out well-done). The burger came out well-done despite my request. We ordered one small plate--the lump crab quesadillas. These sounded very good on the menu; in execution, they fell flat. Too much cheese made for a soggy quesadilla; not crisp as the tortillas should have been. Unpleasant and soggy again. Finally, we ordered a kids meal--the spaghetti with meatballs. This came out with a generous portion of pasta and meatballs--however, barely any marinara sauce. We asked for more sauce from a our server and they brought it quickly. Our service was good and the outdoor seating very nice. But certainly many other restaurants in the area with more attention to detail in their food preparation and better flavors.

Had Sunday brunch at this Manayunk staple - Le Bus has been here for years - awhile ago with family and friends. We snagged street parking, but there's plenty of paid lots nearby too if you stink at parallel parking. Le Bus is right on Main Street, so request a table outside if you want to watch the world go by. Decor's fine, breakfast food good, and service is friendly and fast, amazing considering how packed it was. It always seems to be busy here, both in-and-outdoors. Guess it's a popular spot - and what else is open for brunch? If you decide to give them a try, arrive early so you can secure seating, especially if with a group.

Breakfast, drinks, and more breakfast!!!! This is how I remember Le Bus. This place is a wonderful gem. I love the decor of this restaurant, especially the bar area. I am so glad my friends and I decided to give this place a try. The first time I came here, the wait time was less then 5 minutes. It appeared to be our waiter's first time serving. He forgot to give us forks and such, but all was forgiven when our food arrived. I ordered the french toast and WOW!!!! The toast had the perfect amount of cinnamon and was nice and moist inside. They also give you a basket filled with amazing breads! The cornbread is so yummy. You must try it with the fruit preservatives that are on the table. Now for the best part, Le Bus was were I learned that drinking in the morning was perfectly fine. This is the one place someone can find me having a drink (maybe the homemade lemonade with Jack Daniels) while having a delicious breakfast. Skip the coffee and try one of the many creative and seasonal drinks they offer. Can't wait to come back!

This review is actually 2.5 stars, but I rounded down because there wasn't any compelling reason to round up. I stopped in with a group of 8 on a Saturday to eat. Although they were enjoying brisk business, we were able to be seated right away due to a little luck. Since they were serving brunch, I decided to have the banana walnut pancakes. Others at the table had eggs Benedict, salads, hamburger, etc. My pancakes were OK, they were a little hard/cripsy which I found interesting. (How does that happen?). The syrup was definitely meh, along the lines of Mrs. Butterworth or some such syrup. Service was decent and everyone did eat their meals without any complaints. Price was aslo reasonable per person. Final determination: I would go back again, if I'm looking for decent food and decent service but nothing to set the world on fire.

I know this place gets awesome reviews so that has brought me in a few times, but I really just dont get it. The decor is really nice but other than that the food is just ok.. The price isnt all that great either.. $12 for so so plain french toast is on the borderline of rip off. also doesnt anyone find it slightly unsanitary that they leave an open can of jam on the table all day, what if the table before seated someone with a cold? maybe its just me but i wouldnt touch it.

Le Bus was always considered "fancy" when I lived in Manayunk in my 20s. The food was so good, but the prices were a little too high for our working girl budgets. My husband and I met our sister in law and brother in law there yesterday with two babies and two strollers in tow. We were seated outside, which was amazing and the food was just as good as I remembered. Actually, I think it was better! I had the brown nut salad and my husband had the turkey club. He is a turkey club junkie and loved this one. My salad was SO GOOD. Hummus, feta, quinoa, walnuts, olives and pita adorned my plate. I also loved the bread basket they started us with. Everyone at the table was very happy with their meals. I just loved that we could sit outside with strollers. Our (almost) four month old son was perfectly behaved. I think he loved the vibe of Le Bus, too, and could tell his parents were enjoying themselves.

Had my first visit here recently and while it was an OK place, it was...just OK. I guess I should have either gone for brunch rather than lunch, or perhaps I'm missing the nostalgia factor that the other folks have who patronized Le Bus in college (since I attended college in another state). On the plus side, the cocktails I had were very good. I would definitely come back here to hit the bar. The servers I had were also, for the most part, enthusiastic. No less than three different servers plus one person who looked like the manager stopped by to bring me things or see how I was doing. I think one of the servers may have been new and accordingly kind of fumbly (the second one by contrast was obviously very experienced and super-competent), and then there was a shift change in the middle of my meal, which explains the number of servers. Although I felt like they kind of overdid it on the checking-up at times, it was better than being ignored. My main problem is the food here was just bland/ blah. The bread basket had one piece of very good raisin bread and several pieces of overdry crumbly corn bread that was not good at all. The sweet potato fries were limpish rather than uniformly crispy, though they tasted good with the dipping sauce provided. I had the salmon burger which I was expecting to be flavorful given that it has spices, sauces and glaze...it tasted only slightly different from eating a wad of salmon, and if there was any glaze on it, you could barely taste it. For dessert, I had the bread pudding which was more like French toast pudding as it was also dryer than I would expect a pudding to be. Like, slightly moist slices of bread with sauce over them. Pretty, but again, blah. I hate to be hard on the place because it's a cute restaurant with a nice view if you eat outside, but I wish the food had lived up to the excellence of the drinks. Might give it another try for brunch or something more simple like a burger sometime.

Le Bus always seems to have a steady flow of people - students, young professionals, and families alike - so we figured we'd stop in for a casual dinner. Atmosphere was chill, menu was pretty standard - their drink list looked interesting, but I refrained. I immediately went for the meatloaf, because why not. My two (male) companions ordered a salad and a salmon burger, which obviously made me look like the gross, gluttonous one. Bread basket was good, they had this hearty bread packed with cranberries/raisins/a similar little fruit and nuts...really good. The meatloaf was topped with a "gravy" of sorts that seemed a little congealed and gelatinous, but it wasn't cold, so I'm not sure what it was made of. But the meatloaf itself was alright. Sides of mashed potatoes and veg were pretty normal, can't say much about those. The salmon burger was really good, though. I want to give this place another shot and maybe try a seasonal item on their menu...it's in the neighborhood, it's casual, and it's reasonably priced, so I'd like to find a reason to make this a go-to spot.

Excellent and friendly service, cool atmosphere and very clean. A good selection of beers on tap. The Sangria was average. The Mediterranean Mezze app was excellent. You must try it if you stop by. All of the other food I watched come out of the kitchen looked very good and people I was sitting around who ate said that it was. I would def recommend checking this place out. I'll be back to try the full menu.

For St. Pattys Day, we met up with some friends for Brunch in Manayunk at Le Bus. We got there on the early side (10:15) to avoid a long wait and we were glad we did. They sat us right away and within minutes we had a basket of breakfast breads on our table with homemade jam- both were pretty good. I was in the mood for pancakes and my girlfriend ordered the Eggs Benedict. We got our meals fast, our water and coffee cups were constantly re-filled, and the waitress was friendly enough. Both of us ate our entire meals but agreed that they were nothing special. The bread and jam was probably the highlight of the experience. I think we'll try a few other brunch places in Manayunk before coming back here. Maybe it was what we ordered because there was a huge crowd waiting for a table by the time we walked out the door at 11:30.

Went here for Sunday morning brunch with another couple. Somehow I have managed to live in Philly for over two years and NOT gone to Sunday brunch. Shame on me. I have been to Le Bus for dinner before (great food, loved the bread) and brunch was no different. I got the Eggs Benedict, which I would only get in a place like this. It was on brioche bread, which made it extra fantastic. My bloody mary was perfect. My boyfriend got the omelet with ham and bacon (men love their meat) and the other couple shared banana pancakes, which were great according to them. The wait wasn't as long as I was fearing, about 20 minutes. And we were not rushed out to get another table in, which was nice. We would definitely return for brunch!

Stopped in for breakfast this morning. There isn't a large menu for the egg lover but I landed on the egg sandwich. The staff greeted me promptly and brought me some fresh coffee. The food arrived without undo delay. I really thought the potatoes were delicious. They had a crunchy consistency with a light and savory coating. The sandwich was served on fresh ciabatta, however, it begged for greater texture. I was impressed with their collection of local crafted beers and will return at a more appropriate hour to sample. Solid value and all natural ingredients.

This place has been one of my fav go-to's since way back when Le Bus was really a bus on Penn's campus. Today's visit was especially sweet as I'd met an old friend there & we were seriously interested more in catching up than anything else. Our server was not only patient with waiting almost forever for us to order, but she let us occupy the table for almost 4 hours without ever once reminding us that we were taking up valuable space. We lost all track of time & as the lunch crowd thinned & the happy hour crowd began to trickle in, we sat & enjoyed Le Bus' excellent salmon burgers sweet, sweet potato fries & much chat. On our way out I thanked our server & the hostess for their gracious hospitality & they seemed pleased & even a bit surprised by my appreciation. That being said, I really do wish they could find a way to serve omelets after 11AM during the week...just sayin'

It seems like most of the reviews here are for breakfast/brunch. However, we went here for dinner on Friday night. Based on my experience and the reviews I've read it seems like this place should stick to dinner. We really liked their beer selection which had a nice mixture of local and standard beers. I also liked how they had seasonal specialty drinks. As for the food, we had the wings as an app and they were really good. Sweet with a little bit of spice. I had their pumpkin soup special and it was awesome. I'm a bit pumpkin obsessed this time of year, and I think even someone who isn't as enthusiastic could enjoy this soup as it wasn't "over-pumpkined." For dinner I had the salmon which I think has a teriyaki glaze. The salmon was cooked perfect, I think the glaze was put on a little too heavy so I wiped some of it off. The shallot mashed potatoes were absolutely delicious. My boyfriend ordered the turkey burger and sweet potato fries and said it was really good for a turkey burger (nothing compares to a juicy beef burger!). The sweet potato fries were good as well. As for the service, we had a great server. He was friendly, gave good (and honest) suggestions and was very attentive. It was a great night out. I would definitely return with friends.

Me and my co-workers went to Le Bus for our holiday lunch. I've always loved their bread and I was excited to try out the restuarant. We arrived right before lunch so we beat the crowd. It was a weekday so this place did get a bit packed. Even so, it wasn't loud or annoying to be in the atmosphere and still very nice. They have a really great selection of beers (that I could only read about and not drink since I was technically on the clock). The menu is an assortment of sandwiches, burgers, and salads featuring their delicious bread. I got the turkey burger that had onions and peppers in the actual burger on a delicious roll with sweet potato fries on the side. My co-workers got the turkey melt that came on a little TOO much bread, but it was still delicious looking (I snuck a piece of the bread that had rosemary on the top...yum!). Service was on point and just right. Our server came at the right times and no mistakes were made, so no complaints. I wish it wasn't all the way in Manayunk because I would for sure come back more often if it was closer to my house!

WOW, This was a GREAT find. If you have your family with you and are looking for really good as close to home cooking as you can get without doing it yourself. They have toys for the little ones to play with while you wait and the food was way better then I thought restaurant food can be for the price. A must try please don't over look this place.

I had lunch here today and really enjoyed it. Le Bus features sidewalk cafe-style outdoor seating, as well as a full bar inside and plenty of tables. The menu wasn't huge, but featured burgers, salads and sandwiches. Since I love sweet potato fries, I ordered the turkey burger, which comes with them...burger was huge and tasty, and the fries were awesome. Le Bus also had my favorite beer, Bluemoon, on tap - this doesn't happen much in Jersey, so I was pleasantly surprised. Service was friendly and efficient. Great lunch spot on a beautiful day like today! Glad I stopped in.

The time I always go is around when they open at 9am on Saturday mornings. Not a lot of people and service is timely. And the bread basket is always something I look forward too. My favorite dish is the Eggs Benedict and I think the pieces of pineapple and melon blend in perfectly with the hollandaise sauce the the egg yolk, its a great touch. The english muffin they serve the poached eggs on have grown on me. The bread is never enough to take in all the yolk but the bread basket finishes that up nicely. The eggs are always poached perfectly and that is always appreciated. The potatoes are nothing to write home about but then again there is nothing negative I would say about them. The only negative I have is that the coffee always seem to reach my table and into my cup without the steam rising off top. I just wish it would be a tiny bit hotter. A nice hot cup of coffee doesn't seem too much to ask =)

I went here with my bf to grab a nice outdoor lunch. They have 2 entrances and there was a bike event going on. We went in the one door and the host kept looking at us and walking away. So we went into the other door and I get his attention and he says sorry I thought u were a part of the bike crowd. We weren't in bike clothing like all the other bikers were. So he seats us outside and we are waiting 15 minutes without any acknowledgement from a server. We walked away. So disappointed because I've heard great things and was looking forward to trying their food. Unfortunately experiences like this is enough to turn people off from giving them a second chance

Good place to eat after Yoga (at Yoga on Main just a block or two away!) because it is very casual and pretty good food. They also have outdoor seating when the weather is nice. The veggie burger I got once was ok - I tend to not like veggie burgers with salsa and guac so it might have just been a personal preference thing. Definitely liked the sweet potato fries though! Another time I got the brown rice nut salad and it was fantastic! It was full of flavor and I felt like I was eating something very nutritious so no post-meal guilt. i don't know how to pronounce the name of the place. Anyone know?

Winnie's is a great brunch or lunch spot. It's quaint and charming and the outdoor seating on bustling Main Street is great on warm sunny days. As for the food, I have never had something that I did not like here. The omelets for breakfast are the best I've ever had, and the Crab Cake Sandwiches are my go-to on the menu when I am ordering lunch. The waiters are always super friendly and it's super clean! Which is a must for me. My only complaint is that I wish they had a tad larger menu. Otherwise, great spot! Must try if you're in the Manayunk area.

I came here for a birthday dinner. I feel as if this place is like a diner, but dressier. The dress can be casual to urban chic, whatever you prefer. The prices are normal, about 8-9 bucks a sandwich, 13-17 an entree. I got the jumbalaya and I thought it was pretty good. It wasn't spicy at all to me, so don't be worried about that. They have the normal Philadelphia beers on tap, Yuengling, Yards, and of course the fav for collegiate chicks, Blue Moon.

I went here for the first time tonight to have dinner with a friend. They have homemade goodies for sale to take home and the atmosphere was fun, but sophisticated. We were a little confused when we walked in because we weren't sure if we should seat ourselves or not. The menu has classics and more inventive things, as well. I ordered the butternut squash lasagna. The portion was huge and it was delicious. We also had the calamari as an appetizer. It was good and came with a dipping sauce that almost had a cinnamon-y taste. For two people who ordered 2 alcoholic drinks, an appetizer and two meals, the bill was $50. We were not at all disappointed.

Winnie's Le Bus, you are A-OK in my book. But I wish you would allow people who aren't ordering meals to partake in the outdoor seating when the restaurant is EMPTY...on an unbearably hot summer afternoon, I (stupidly) rode my bike from Conshohocken to Manayunk. When I arrived in Yunk, all I wanted was to sit outside with my bike while I enjoyed a cold beer. But nope, not at Winnie's! I have been back since that fateful summer day when I did NOT get my cold beer - on my next visit I sat inside and enjoyed a yummy fall cocktail (something with coffee and pumpkin liqueur in it) and some calamari with my cousin while he was visiting me on the east coast. We sat right in a window seat, perfect for people watching. I've never eaten a full meal here... the calamari was tasty but forgettable - nothing made it stand out more or less than any other I've ever had. I like the location, and if I'm ever back in the Yunk, maybe I'd try brunch here. Or maybe just more season-themed cocktails...

Well... I came to write my review of LeBus and now I can't at all remember what I ate there... I guess I wasn't too blindsided by its deliciousness. I like the location and the decor, tho. it's quaint and nice and comfortable. Good for a weekend brunch. The sweet potato fries were good! I remember that much! I also had some sort of berry cocktail that was pretty good... Umm... this is the most pointless review I've ever written. Sorry! If I remember more details, I'll come back and edit...

I've been here twice now. Both times were during brunch, the second time was really crowded. But we always had good service. I love the corn bread that they give you. I eat it up, and my family and I fight over it. So yummy! Chili is sort of an inside joke with my family. I noticed that they had a vegetarian chili that "Should be Award Winning" and so I had to order it (a way long time ago when I was little, my family was traveling and we saw somewhere "The World's Second Best Chili." We tried and it could have very well been the world's second best chili, but any chili title we will always compare to the world's second best chili). And Winnie's chili was pretty darn good! Filled with beans and grains and yumminess! Definitely should be award winning! The next time we went there I chose to get the banana walnut pancakes which were also really good. very fluffy and fresh, definitely better if you want a more "breakfast" like brunch. I think Winnie's Le Bus has become a favorite of ours when we go to visit my sister, so I plan on going back there again!

I recommend the Cuban sandwich for lunch. Decent fries and nice servers, too. The salads are enormous.

I've only been to Manayunk twice but both times I made sure I went to Le Bus. The first time we happened to stumble upon it on a random week night. It was pretty empty but we thought we'd try it anyways. I'm not exactly sure why we liked that place but we did. So when we visited the town for a second time we went back for drinks after grabbing dinner at some other restaurant. The place was empty again but we sat at the rounded bar just like we did the year prior. The bartender was really nice, even after we gave him a hard time about serving Pepsi over Coke. (I'm a Coke loyalist.) In the end we had a couple of drinks and he also gave us free samples of the sangria (I suggest the red wine one even though I'm normally a white wine sangria fan. They were both really good though). We left as the restaurant was closing and as we were about to step out of the restaurant they gave us a free bag of bagels. Just nice people. If I ever come back to Manayunk I'll have to make sure to have a meal so my review isn't solely based off of alcohol and service, although those are both very important.

Really enjoyed this place! Walked here all the way from Center City, so had quite the appetite by the time I got there. They quoted us a 15 minute wait time and it only took about 10 minutes. I ordered pancakes with blueberries and chocolate chips- DELICIOUS and my fiance got eggs, which were also great. There was a minor issue during the meal, which management dealt with quickly and effectively, comping us food that they really didn't have to. Really happy with this place, would definitely come back. :)

This place is always busy on the weekends when we are in Manuyunk but an unexpected early work day led to a meal here. Crabcakes were fantastic. Not just good but fan-f'ing-tastic. Drink menu was great. Fish tacos were a solid choice. Waitress was nice and friendly. They even gave my son a little plate of goldfish crackers. The only downside? They are unbelievably slow. Slow with the initial drink order.... slow with the bread.... slow with the entrees. I don't normally take an hour and half for dinner (that's without dessert). Don't go here if you're in a hurry.

Great service, the cuban was not really a cuban, the beer was nice. Nice people - I would go to again.

Solid for weekend brunch. Not so much during the week. (Service is markedly more... "relaxed." As in, the last time I was in on a weekday my server never refilled my water glass or coffee, and had to be prompted to do both.) I love their bread basket- usually a mix of cornbread, rye, and a sweet bread- and their signature mixed berry jam. Delicious. I recommend the brown nut salad. So good- and enormous. Their veggie burger is decent, though nothing to write home about. I've never been for their happy hour, but it looks like they've got a nice selection of drinks ranging from $4 specialty drinks to $5 drafts and wines. Oh- one more thing. It gets CROWDED on weekends. Expect to essentially share a table with your neighbors. Not too bad as long as you're friendly. Antisocial folks might want to sit Le Bus out.

I've been to this place many times over many years. The past few years, though, I feel like the quality of the food has gone down, or maybe my standards have gotten higher. The last time I went, I had the vegetable minestrone soup, which was good, and then the crabcake sandwich, which wasn't as good. My main complaint is that everything is just too salty. The fries tasted like they had been marinated in a salt solution, and the crabcake itself was also too salty. On the plus side, they have great bread, and it's cheap.

I've only been here for brunch and the food is decent. I had the eggs benedict and my bf had an omelet. The place was really busy and there were some noisy children around but that doesn't bother me.

I live in Manayunk and after eating at Winnie's several times I've come to the conclusion that it's OVER-RATED. Definitely one of the better places to dine on Main St, but there's more to Manayunk than Main St! Food & drinks are good, a bit pricey. The free bread is a nice treat. Dine here if you must, it's a good time once in a blue moon. My advice: EXPLORE other areas of Manayunk & Roxborough, you will find better!

A terrific place to go and grab a bite to eat. It is hands down the "go to" restaurant on Main St. A perfect place to grab brunch after a long night out or a great place to hit up dinner before doing so!

Overall Winnie's is ok, but the service, come on really guys? Came with a party of 8 for breakfast, we are the only table in the restaurant, we all order egg sandwiches and a hour later they come out. Really one hour to cook 8 egg sandwiches? The waitress never commented on the long wait time or offered us any more bread etc. The egg sandwich was good though, nice bread, and the potatoes that came with it were good as well, but overall not worth the wait. Then when the check comes we ask her to split it up (duh 8 non related people sitting at a table are probably going to want split checks) and she moans and says they don't usually do separate checks, then proceeds to take another 20 minutes to split the check up. Work on your customer service Winnie's and maybe we'll come back.

After a few recommendations, I ventured to Le Bus for Sunday brunch. Lots of choices if you're a pancake guy or gal, not so many if you're a bigger fan of the "lunch" side of brunch. I tried their standard burger -- which was good, but didn't wow me for any reason (but they are a decent size, kudos for that). However, the big highlight for me was ordering one of Le Bus's cupcakes. The buttercream icing was fantastic...and I'm not really a dessert person! Take note also: this place can be crowded, and there isn't much space between tables. Get cozy with your servers and table-neighbors! You're going to be hitting a lot of each other.

  • Kevin W.

This place puzzles me because it always seems pretty crowded so my expectations were high.I had the vegetarian chili and it didn't really impress me and everyone brags about the bread basket and I thought it was average at best. Prices on the menu were on the high side too service was slow but that was expected because they were very busy I have eaten at every restaurant on Main st in Manayunk and this would be in my bottom 3 with Chabaa,Derek's and Lucky's in my top 3

My wife and I went here for dinner on a night where all of the proceeds went to Northlight Community Center. While I enjoy supporting Northlight, the food at Le Bus was just not good. We ordered the nachos, a grilled chicken sandwich, and meatloaf. The nachos were OK I suppose. My grilled chicken sandwich was extremely dry and my wife's meatloaf was something I'd expect from a hospital. The timing of the food's arrival was not ideal (our nachos took forever and then our entrees came when we were still working on the nachos) and the server hardly seemed to know what they had to offer. Hopefully I don't ever have to go back to this place.

On the way home from a morning bike ride out on the Schyullkill River Trail (as I prepare for my ride to and from Valley Forge), my friend and I decided to stop here for brunch. The menu is good, but the prices are a tad high. I mean, I love eggs benedict, so I got that. It was 10 bucks. They were skimpy with the Hollandaise and the ham was really too thin, but the eggs were poached quite well. It came on a croissant which was a clever twist but I honestly prefer English muffins because they are more substantial to stand up to yolk and Hollandaise. They do give you a couple of pieces of fresh fruit on the plate which is a nice touch. Overall, I was fine with my meal. My buddy got a cheese burger topped with avocado. For a place that prides itself on its bread, his burger's bun immediately fell to shit and the burger proceeded to crumble in his fist. I felt really bad for him as I watched him struggle to eat it. He said it tasted alright but that's just a real bummer. Lastly, the service is dreadfully slow. We were sat at a 4 top that they split in half. We placed our orders with the waitress. Ten minutes later, a couple sat down at the other half of our four top. Not only did our food arrive at the exact same time (and both groups ate at a similar pace), their waitress was able to give them their check and send them on their way when our check only first arrived. Overall, I doubt I'd return, but then again I am never in Manayunk to begin with.

This is a great place for brunch. They have some many choices that are delicious. I really enjoy their breakfast type items. Also before your meals comes they serve some great tasting breads. My favorite is the cornbread, but make sure not to eat too much of it or you will not have room for your meal. The staff has always been friendly and professional. Be warned that you will have to wait for a table if you go during Brunch time. After you enjoy your meal you can take a stroll down Main Street.

Loved the location for a date night with hubby, we walked right up on a Saturday night and got prime seating outside. The food was good. Though the bread basket was not too good. The cornbread was a bit stale and the other two pieces of pumpernickle seemed like an afterthought. My salad was ok, pretty average and hubby said the salmon burger didn't taste like it was freshly made. read: pre-packaged and reheated. All in all, it was an ok night with ok food. Nothing to write home about but we would go back.

Hot damn those wings were tasty. They could beat me to within an inch of my life when I walk in, as long as I get one of those wings it's 4 stars from me.

Short and sweet: 4 stars for mushroomy meatloaf! This delicacy has nothing in common with those brick-like slabs your school cafeteria (or maybe your mom) turned out. This is moist, flavorful comfort food of the best kind, with savory mushroom gravy, creamy mashed potatoes and nicely crisp fresh baby broccoli. Le Bus isn't high cuisine, but I'll gobble up this meatloaf any day.

Stickler for service? Well, if you work as waitstaff and take orders, I think it's a requirement to L I S T E N and not just nod. Nothing particularly wrong or fabulous about this place. I tried some blueberry pancakes -- palatable -- and had a veggie omelet with turkey sausage on the side. I initially asked for an egg white omelet and no roasted potatoes and turkey sausage instead.... but that didn't happen. So for what I did eat -- decent. Not a bad rest stop while you shop at the stores that are actually open (why are half of them closed on a Sat mid-morning escapes me) on Main St....

I love this place, I really really do. It may be my favorite restaurant in Manayunk for every meal. I've been multiple times for each meal and I'll say this: I don't recommend it for brunch on the weekends. While the food is fantastic, the wait is usually long (both waiting for a table and then waiting for food once you've ordered) and the service is always bad at this time. I don't know why, but they must have their most inexperienced servers working then because they are never good. That's my biggest complaint for this place: the service during the busy brunch rush. Other than that one complaint, I highly recommend this place! The veggie chili is out of this world and no matter what time of day or what month of the year I always want to order it! Their veggie, salmon and turkey burgers are all delicious and I usually have a difficult time deciding which of the three to order. The sweet potato fries are also delicious and another favorite of mine here. All the breakfast food is delicious as well, but due to the poor service it sometimes comes out cold or dry. They have a pretty decent beer selection that changes seasonally and they also have fantastic seasonal cocktails. My biggest recommendation is to hit this place up for off-peak meals because that's when you'll get the best experience. I wish the management would find better servers, but what can you do?

  • Jessica S.

I have yet to figure out why this place is always so packed. I have been there a total of three times, and really only enjoyed it once. The very first time was late this past winter for lunch with a friend. I had the special which was a homemade turkey pot pie. It was pretty delicious. Since then, it's been a downward slope. I've only been for lunch or an early dinner, so who knows? Maybe their brunch is fantastic. I highly doubt it. But if it is, they should probably turn some of that focus on the rest of their meals. Everything there is just mediocre, and there are definitely better places to get lunch on Main Street. I prefer to go next door to Bella Trattoria, actually. The one redeeming quality can be found in the bread basket. They serve this one cinnamon raisin bread that is just irresistible, especially with a light coating of melted butter. If you can, walk by someone's table outside and try to steal a piece out of their basket. It'd be easier than sitting through a whole meal there.

We were seated promptly today and fresh coffee flowed freely- it was a nice 4th of July Sunday in manayunk! The service is just right, and there was plenty of staff around to grab just in case you need something. The bread basket came soon after, the raisin bread tasted good especially when smothered with that jam or preserve on the table. We asked if we could order from the 11 am menu since it was already 1045 am, and our server said no problem.... Cool! I ordered the Colorado blue salad and my girl ordered the creole omelet. 2 cups of coffee and almost all the bread in the basket later, the food came out. I was a bit surprised that my salad came out in a wooden bowl, like the ones found at target, and definitely worn due to age. The bowl had discoloration possibly from mold within the wood (one of those wooden criss-cross composite bowls) which was initially kind of unappetizing especially since a salad is supposed to embody freshness. I used the bread bowl paper to cover it since the other half asked me to quit being critical. I did forget it soon after, outta sight outta mind. The salad included roasted corn, asparagus, leafy greens, blue cheese and half a tomato. It was topped off with half a blackened chicken breast, cut diagonally (it tasted nothing like the ancho chili glaze as advertised). The salad confused me at first since I dug my fork in and pulled out a whole asparagus spear. I grabbed my butter knife and cut the rest up, no big deal. The contrast between the almost creamy dressing (vinaigrette + blue cheese) and blackened chicken matched well, and the rest of the salad held everything together. My girl was a little disappointed in her omelet since it didn't have ample stuffing in it. The meat in her creole omelet could have been represented a bit more, alas, she only received 3 slivers of the sliced andouille sausage in her huge fritata-like omelet. The omelet was a bit overcooked, almost fritata like and contained peppers, cheese and 3 slices of andouille sausage. The omelet was topped with a light red salsa, probably stolen from their huevos rancheros dish, another offering on their menu. Funny thing about the omelet, it seemed like a folded fritata; I think I'm just gonna call it that. So there's something about this place because it's always hopping so something must be right- the service. They had pretty good service which possibly make up for the OK food; hence the patronage. Would we go back? Sure why not, maybe not for the food (or the prices), but for the atmosphere and service.

Which Le Bus will you experience? If you go for breakfast, likely the one with only two stars because of poor service -- but excellent buttermilk pancakes, the best I've eaten in Philly. unfortunately, your coffee cup will remain empty. If you go for dinner, likely you'll experience the one with four stars as the service is much better. The food is excellent, with my favorite being their meatloaf. All meals are accompanied by an assortment of breads, usually baked that morning, that are delicious. The food is excellent but only go if you can tolerate service that disappears for long stretches of time.

I don't frequent the Manayunk area too often anymore, and when I did it was more to catch a band at Grape and do a little drinking than for eating. Luckily during an early evening a while back, some friends and I headed over to Le Bus. I remembered it being a pretty decent dining experience, even on a crowded night. Last night I returned to Le Bus for only the second time and I couldn't be happier with the place. It was pretty dead on a Tuesday, so our service was more prompt than I recalled previously. I had a fresh pot of decaf all to myself, which was nice and delicious. My friend and I both ordered the turkey burger, but instead of my usual toppings extravaganza, I decided to just take it as it comes. I have to say, I was more than impressed! The turkey burger itself is ground turkey mixed with celery, spanish onions, shallots, garlic, scallions and peppers. It makes for an extremely tasty burger, even without cheese. (And I love cheese!) And all the extras inside probably are what kept the burger from tasting dried out as so many turkey burgers have the tendency to do. My only regret is that I wasn't more hungry so I could have finished my entire burger and side of sweet potato fries. Some people may think the portions are a bit on the small side, but I actually appreciated the small side of sweet potato fries. It's more in line with what a REAL serving size should be anyway. Overall our experience last night was excellent and I'm glad we happened to be back in the Manayunk area last night so I could have an excuse to enjoy a delicous meal.

Food is ok. Service was crappy. It was loud. The sangria tastes HORRIBLE. Both my mom and I ordered it, she thought it tasted like a dish rag and I thought it tasted like BO. The waitress took our drinks back and said that many people have said the sangria is bad. DON'T PUT IT ON THE MENU ANY MORE. Give us a discount for having us endure the B.O.-dish rag drink. Booo. Winnie's.

Great food and bread, great selection, awesome location. Prices are quite high, wait service is fair-to-poor and the delay for the food preparation is confusingly looong. I've been here when it was dead, and it still took them forever to make a sandwich! I'd love to know what they are doing in the kitchen when it take 45 minutes to make eggs! On top of that, the wait-staff is often more interested in their own private conversations than in making eye contact with you every 5-10 minutes to see if maybe you want to order a coffee to pass the interminable wait... But then, Manyunk on the whole is a bit played out.

The service is always good and last night it was great. The tuna entree is delicious and is in close competition with the fish tacos. The enchiladas are now a special and I highly recommend them. If a dish has mashed potatoes substitute for rice, the mashed are always a little cold.

I came here on a mild autumn night for a quick bite & good drink. I received just that: a turkey burger w sweet potato fries and apple cider. The meal was mediocre. Turkey burger was a bit mealy but very flavorful & fries (we ordered a second batch bc the first not crispy enough) The food was what I paid for, $10. The drink EXCELLENT. I am an apple cider fan already but the rum and cinnamon stick did me well on a chilled Friday evening. The crowd was decent (not too many heads) and the place is very neat and clean. 4 thumbs up! ..on another occasion I had the sangria, also pretty good

14 years ago I was the orange-juice squeezer and all the servers would come by and stick a glass under the tap of the squeezer machine and wait for about a minute while it slowly filled up because it was that good. Don't tell Winnie or she will ream me the fuck out. I used to take home gallons of it at the end of the shift on Sunday. I've spent most of the rest of my life trying to find orange juice this good. Don't get me started on the deep-fried sausage.

Le Bus is always our go-to restaurant for brunch and dinner with our fam and friends. We never have to worry about the food or service - its always impeccable. The raisin bread and cornbread are always fresh and a nice treat when you're hungry waiting for your food to arrive. I've gotten almost everything but my top pick is the juevos rancheros and pancakes. Not to mention their cupcakes and cookies are awesome. Thanks for being consistent.

Four of us went for Sunday Brunch about 10:30 am. We were seated right away and we all enjoyed our meal- 3 orders of various kinds of pancakes and an omelet. It was reasonably priced and we will all go again. Another time we had the rice salad and it was divine.

This is our favorite go-to place to eat in Manayunk. I know, pathetic, with the zillion restaurants on Main Street. However, the food is always delicious and it has something for my picky husband and I'm a vegetarian. We've only eaten dinner here, but I get a different item every time and it's always scrumptious. I also really like the cozy atmosphere. It's decorated for Christmas right now, and boy I wish I could move in.

I'd heard good things about Winnie's from friends, but I wrote it off at first glance. The menu they had online was a couple of seasons out of date, and the prices seemed pretty high for a casual joint. I gave it a chance tonight and I'm glad I did! The place is pretty but low key. We went later on a Friday evening and there was no wait. The ambience was dark wood but comfortable with mild ambient noise and a casual air. Our server was wonderful - attentive without being overbearing, and she managed to fill my iced tea 4 times without me realizing it was ever empty. Food was also quite good. We started with the nachos which were well worth the $10; enough for a few people to share. When we got to the bottom layer of naked chips, our server asked if we'd like more salsa and brought it right away with no extra charge! I got the turkey burger - very good. Nothing incredibly special, but what turkey burger is? The sweet potato fries were delicious. The husband got the chicken sandwich and loved it. All in all - highly recommend if you want somewhere low key and not overrun with the bar crowd. My only complaint is that it's a little pricey for what it is, but i knew that going in. I'll be happy to go back!

For Brunch: I think they have the best Huevos Rancheros, hands down. And yes, I've been to Sabrina's. For Lunch: Love their Turkey Club. For Dinner: Chicken Soffrito with mashed potatoes, which is seasonal, I think. At the Bar: Nachos and Wings!!! And I just love me some of Winnie's cornbread. I guess since I have been going to Le Bus on and off since high school, (which is about 10+ years), I always receive a warm welcome from Winnie, which always makes me feel good. I'm a sucker for that. So, I will say the service is usually good. Every now and then I'll get a snotty little waitress, but usually they are nice and attentive. Winnie's will always be a favorite in my little book.

Loved it! Husband and I chanced upon this spot because I, being 6 months pregnant, needed to pee once again. They were nice about letting me use the bathroom when I didn't think we'd stay. When my husband was waiting for me he read the menu and decided we'd stay. Smart fella. I had the spinach salad with goat cheese, caramelized pecans and beets. He had the salad with lotsa nuts. We added avocado to our salads and split a vegetarian chili bowl. First time in a long time I was licking off the plate. The best meal I had all week.

I definitely could just be used to NY living and nothing else can compare- but I def have had better brunch in my lifetime. I got the chicken salad club and it was okay. I just felt it was super overpriced for what you got. Someone at my table got the french toast and that seemed like the best thing on the menu. ....and what brunch place doesn't make cappuccinos? WTF

Le Bus has been a favorite for many years. Being vegetarians, my boyfriend and I have always loved the veggie food options. I'd consider it "wholesome comfort food" like the chili which is delicious and hearty and lots of bread. We've always liked the drink selections as well (rotating drafts and seasonal specialty cocktails like infused vodkas and sangria) While we have our go-tos, we are occasionally surprised with an interesting special or two. Over our past couple visits however, Le Bus has failed to impress. On our last visit, we weren't greeted for at least 5-6 minutes despite several glances from servers and staff. It was not busy in there at all so it's not like someone couldn't have taken a moment to at least say hello. As far as the food goes, it has begun to lack in consistency. Like I said before, we usually order the same thing, knowing what we're going to get when it comes out.. but lately your guess is as good as mine. Portion sizes and presentation have ranged from abundant to (typically) sparing. The flatbreads were so great when they were specials..but now that they're on the menu for good they have gone down hill.... an $11 flatbread that is the size of a hand? I could get an entire pizza from Alex's or better yet a flatbread from Earth Bread and Brewery for less than that. $11 for a hummus plate with maybe 1tbsp of hummus on it? An $0.89 can of chickpeas makes 8oz of hummus at my house. congrats on the profit margin with that one! I know when you go out you're paying for the experience as well as the food, but when the experience is unfriendly and the food lackluster, $50 on two drinks and two appetizers is a little steep. Our last two visits we left sad and hungry and had to go somewhere else (and spend MORE money) for some more food. It pains me that we might need to find ourselves a new "spot."

Great location, but the parking is a b*&%$ sometimes. You have to get lucky or you pay. The food is good, the sangria is better. The menu isn't extensive, but its diverse. I'd go back, but I don't know if I would recommend it to people who hadn't been to Manayunk or people who were visiting from out of town.

Lovely Tuesday afternoon- horribly dissapointing lunch. The food was sub par and the service was worse. We sat outside and I think this means they forgot about us for a while. The salad was swimming in dressing, the burger was overdone. We had to stalk our waitress to get the check because we were dying to leave and enjoy the sunshine elsewhere. Don't waste your time here- go to Couch Tomato!

I went here for Sunday brunch the other week. It was about a 20 minute wait which really was not that bad. However, I expected a lot more from the place since it seemed like it was a popular establishment in the area. I ordered a cup of hot tea and it was brought out with hot water in the cup and tea bag on the side. I say that because when I looked inside the cup it was obvious that someone did not do a very good job washing it because you could clearly see the coffee or hot chocolate rings inside the cup. Still I figured it was just a minor oversight on the waitresses part so I didn't bother having it returned. We waited a long time for food but that is understandable considering how many people were there. However, I ordered french toast and when it was brought out it didn't have butter or syrup on the plate and the waitress never asked me if I wanted any. So we decided to ask for it and she only brought out the syrup. In addition, the french toast were cold and dry. The waitress never came back and asked if everything with our food was okay or we needed refills. The table behind us, who also had the same waitress, made a complaint regarding their service too and a manager was called out. IN A NUTSHELL: food is blah, waitress was blah, atmosphere & people are the only thing that is keeping it from a 1 star HOWEVER, although the food wasn't amazing, it also wasn't awful. If our waitress was a little more attentive this would have probably been a 3 star review. I would definitely give this place a another chance.

Friday evening sitting out on the sidewalk in Manayunk taking in all the scenery what can get better. Le Bus' menu is versatile from the freshly made vegetarian burger to the delicious fish tacos and do not forget to take in the daily specials. Great informal dining, great atmosphere and great locaton! Oh also plenty of drink choices.

I like Le Bus for brunch but I think people raved about it soooo much I expected more. It's a typical brunch place. Their omelet is good with fresh and delicious ingredients. The fruit plate was fresh. And the OJ delish, squeezed on site. I enjoyed it and would go again but wasn't so bowled over I need to put it in permanent rotation.

This is a great place for brunch. The meals start with Le Bus' famous breads served with preserves, very yummy. And its in Manayunk which makes the atmosphere even more fun. I love the huevos rancheros, and the pancakes -- they are very moist, almost like a real oven-baked cake at a price that could compete with IHOP, but an atmosphere that's very french cafe.

After dinner, I wanted a change of atmosphere, so my boyfriend and I decided to go to a different spot for dessert. We picked Winnie's Le Bus; our favorite breakfast spot when I went used to go to college around the area. The place was spacious and had had a corky, paintery feel. Memories of delicious cornbread, pancakes, and yummy iced teas came flooding back. Sweet Potato Fries These were kind of a disappointment. They were very tough and dry, inside and out. There was not much flavor to them, but came with a side of yogurt cream sauce. The sauce was not that flavorful either, other than the almost sour cream taste, but helped moisten the dryness of the fries Banana Bread Pudding When this first arrived at our table, I thought it was french toast! Well it wasn't ,but the flavors of french toast were sure there (especially with the generous sprinkle of cinnamon on top!) I couldn't taste much banana and the bread itself was very rubbery and lacked depth. The sauce however, was sweet, creamy and thick; reminiscent of melted custard. We didn't want to have leftovers so we polished this off, leaving it to expand in my stomach and boy ..was I STUFFED. Check out pictures and more on my food blog! website is on my profile!

Cuban Sandwich was good but not authentic, bread was fresh. Gluten-free menu was limited (note: I DO NOT have celiac disease but my friend did)....just an FYI.

Food is good, but nothing inspired, just run of the mill things with some great bread served before them. I go for the bread and the jam, not the $12 club sandwich with chips. I feel like they are pricing themselves out for what they offer, but what they offer is solid food just not for me.

My favorite lunch spot in Manayunk, hands down. Interesting menu (Cuban sandwich & open faced grilled cheese are excellent) and quick, friendly service combine for a great experience. Prices are surprisingly reasonable. Their breakfast/brunch is mediocre and always has a huge crowd, do yourself a favor and wait an extra hour or two then hit it up lunchtime style.

My wife and I were visiting Philly and we drove to this place, which was off the beaten path for us. The food was very mediocre and they committed what I view as a major no-no. I ordered their "award winning" pancakes which are supposed to be accompanied by "Pennsylvania dutch maple syrup." Instead they were served with what I can only describe as Aunt Jemima syrup. If you want to cheap out and use the fake stuff, then please don't advertise that you are using maple syrup. Aside from this, these "award winning pancakes" were pretty average. Don't waste your time on this place.

I've been to Winnie's several times before for a quick, unexpected dinner out with the kids when we were out later than planned, and on those visits, it was fine. Nothing special, but competent, and it was exactly what we wanted at those moments. I'm writing this review because of the bizarre brunch my family had there today. First off, I should say that the place was completely slammed, so all criticisms should be taken in that light. We waited about 25 minutes to be seated, and it's not a very big place. The problems were really isolated to the kitchen. We ordered: Mac-n-Cheese for the boy, pancakes for the girl, a veggie burger for mom, and an omelet from the specials menu for me. Nothing special. It took over 40 minutes for the kids' food to arrive, and both were served tepid-to-cold. I actually watched the mac-n-cheese being microwaved from my chair in the dining room, so I'm not sure how that could possibly have taken that long and yet still have been cold on arrival. My wife and I waited another 10 minutes before we were served. To be fair, my wife's veggie burger was fine, but my omelet had to be the weirdest looking thing I've ever been served in a restaurant, and I'm not exaggerating. The "egg-portion" of the omelet was completely separate from the "stuffing", but what was truly odd was that this egg blanket showed no sign at all of ever having been in a pan. The surface was perfectly smooth, dry, and pale yellow. Picture a lemon, rimless frisbee. It was as if it had been precooked in some non-pan method (can you bake-off hundreds of omelet "shells" in advance?) and then just assembled when needed, kind of like a fast food egg biscuit. But the oddity didn't stop with the impossibly cooked eggs. The omelet was supposed to be a "smoked tomato rabe omelet". So, I'm thinking, "AWESOME!" What was inside the egg-shell-wrapper-thing were 3 massive chunks of tomato that had maybe been briefly charred on a burner and a scant few tablespoons of sad, graying broccoli rabe bits. It was as if they had tried to sweep their most disappointing vegetables under the rug; the rug being this horrifying egg thing on my plate. Thumbs down, Winnie; all two of them.

I really, really liked this place. We went for dinner on a Saturday night. The bread basket was great. There were four of us - we ordered 4 different things and we all left full and happy. I got the caesar salad and the tilapia. The fish was delicious! I was actually really disappointed to have forgotten my leftovers at my boyfriend's apartment and made him promise to eat them during the week! He got the jambalaya, my friend got the asian noodles, both good, and my other friend got the meatloaf I think, which I was too full to try. I can't wait to go back here.

Breakfast review: It's great, great bread that's at every table, fresh squeezed OJ, and homemade? fruit preserves at the table. I'm not sure what's up with sides of meat, but neither of us got any. There are no specialty syrups. If you like breakfast foods, but don't like diners or Denny's, you will be happy here. People watching tables outside and in the front of the restaurant. I liked the service, the food came fast, and there's a nice atmosphere. Approx. $25 for 2.

Again, I wish I could have the ability to half star things. I'd give it 3.5 stars, which is more than the average here. The reason this place is always so packed? It's a. one of the few brunch places in the area, and b. it's trendy to be seen here, I think. It always seems as if the people here are wanting to be seen. Which, you know, whatever floats your boat. I used to eat here years ago, before I moved. I think I actually went on a date here. We were in the area on Saturday, and were looking to get a late lunch. Again, we have a toddler, so this is one of those things that we have to go where our son can make nose, or a mess and not be glared at because he's being a toddler (although, aside of this review, our son is actually very good in resturants, as he's good at entertaining himself). The wait was pretty minimal, but there was still a wait at about 2:30 in the afternoon. We waited about 10 minutes for our table, which wasn't too bad. The server was very nice and very kid friendly. The cornbread is pretty tasty. We both had the turkey burger, which was pretty good and flavorful, although, the "fried onions" were just a little less than sauteed. But all in all, it wasn't bad. The service was quick and friendly. The other thing I don't really like about this place is that you're jammed in like sardines. The tables are too close together, and makes you feel as if you're dining with a lot more people than you really want to be. I'm sure that others don't want me accidentally hearing their conversations, as much as I don't want them listening to mine. It's much nicer in the spring/summer months, when you can dine outside.

Eh. Bread is great. Brown rice nut salad is great (but only available at lunch). Turkey burger is good. Bread pudding is amazing. Crappy wine selection. Good, though overpriced, drinks. I realize I'm not helping much with this review, but really, it's all I got. OK food at an OK price... though sadly, one of the better choices in Manayunk.

They are known for their great bread, which really is excellent. On a recent Saturday visit, the service was a bit slow, but the food was good. I would not say great, but fine. I had the veggie burger, which was nothing special, but serviceable. My wife had a salmon burger, which was a bit dry, but tasty. They do have a little menu for the kids, but my daughter, who is not a huge eater, was still hungry after her chicken tender meal - which only had two tenders and some french fries. The atmosphere is very nice, if a bit loud.

They have good food, good bread, and a nice beer selection. We've been here a few times and had pleasant experiences each time. Probably as good as it gets on Main Street for brunch or food of its type.

Although I know this place is highly recommended, the brunch is only average. It offers average brunch-y fair, done average-ly. Maybe other meals are what it's known for, I really hope it's not this. Stop into another cute Manayunk restaurant to grab some brunch.

I've been going to Winnie's Le Bus since it was simply "Le Bus" so I have a sort of loyalty towards it. Pros: *Cozy atmosphere, my dad loves coming here because it reminds him of the pubs back home in England *Quick to seat you (I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes) but they don't rush you out of the door so I'm not sure how they do such a quick turn around! *Never been disappointed with their menu *Excellent bread Cons: *My friend said that the past few times she's been there the servers were reluctant to serve you. I definetly noticed that with our server when we went for brunch. Every other time the service has been up to par. Nothing outstanding but nothing to get upset or annoyed about. To order: Brunch: Huevos Rancheros or Banana-Walnut pancakes Any other time: Nachos, Hummus are always a good bet. I have weird eating habbits and eat small meals so I don't usually order the large items. Overall, not a bad place when you are looking for something quick, intimate and fun.

finding myself at le bus two weekends in a row is something that hasn't happened since i moved out of the 'yunk four years ago...until now. weekend one. after hanging out with friends at the bayou to watch the eagles game, we were hungry - for real food, not bar junk - so we headed across the street to le bus. weather was nice, so our rowdy group of 6 chose to sit outside...lucky for us, no wait. i was craving their vegetarian chili (it's tops!) but ended up ordering the veggie burger out of curiosity (how i had never had it before, i'm not sure). consensus: it was tasty and, unlike the beef burger, came served on a wheat bun and with a side of sweet potato fries (score!) i wouldn't recommend people run here for the veg burger, but i definitely didn't regret ordering it. special kudos to our server who was not only patient with our rather drunken antics, but even seemed to get a kick out of our ridiculousness. we debated the ciabatta roll - its shape, its size, its pronunciation. we asked her, as if she was all-knowing, if birds have tails. we were a hot mess. weekend two. found myself back here one week later when my former philly girl turned boulder, CO resident was in town and wanted to visit some old faves (le bus and ME). once again, i passed on their most amazingest veggie chili as the moroccan cous cous special sounded too good to pass up. good choice, in my opinion! tons of veggies, including butternut squash, plus pine nuts and a nicely seasoned but not too overbearing sauce. the portion was huge and half of it came home with me for lunch the next day. my friend thoroughly enjoyed her salmon burger (also served with sweet potato fries) and her vanilla cupcake...which i, as a good friend, helped her eat :) and, as luck would have it, sitting indoors on a rainy nite, my friend and i ended up with the same server i'd had the week before! when i told her i was from "that group" she told me she'd been pondering whether or not birds have tails all week. for anyone else who's wondering, the answer is yes.

My husband and i have been to Le Bus twice, and both experiences were just OK. The first time, we came with his parents for dinner. Service was great - we were seated promptly, the waitress was knowledgeable, and the food was brought out in good time. However, the food itself left a bit to be desired. I had some sort of salad with steak. The salad greens were fresh, but the steak was overcooked and underseasoned. The second time, we came for lunch, and I had what was basically eggs with salsa and hot tea. My husband had the banana-walnut pancakes, and an orange juice. The eggs were OK, though they weren't as good as the menu had made them sound. Really, they were just eggs with salsa. My husband's pancakes were good, if a little heavy, but everything left a bad taste in our mouths when we realized that we had spent over $40 (including tip) on brunch. The food isn't bad, but it's too expensive to be worth your while. We won't be back.

I used to love to eat at this cafe or just pick up some fresh bread but I stopped in this week and wasnt impressed. I ordered the ahi Tuna and a glass of wine. My Sauvignon Blanc was nothing to get excited over and my fish was dry and laking anything exciting. I like that you can sit outside at this place, but thats not hard to come by on Main Street Manayunk. There is too much competition on Main Steet to get by with sub-par food and service. I was only eating with one other person and the server couldnt keep straight who got what...his plate came out with my broccoli and mine with his side. I have to be fair and add that I have been here many times and ordered sandwhiches and really enjoyed them so I gave them an extra star for that. Dont know that I'll return for dinner anytime soon. Good to note though that their bread is fantastic and the foccacia that you can get at the Rittenhouse location is really tasty .

I'd been to Le Bus 6 years ago and remembered their excellent brown rice nut salad, so I ordered it again. It was a few days before my niece's birthday, so she and I had a glass of white wine. My sister, niece and I ordered the brown rice nut salad again, along with an order of the sweet potato fries. Our friendly and expensively educated waiter (Penn Charter and Williams) was great. He asked if I wanted shrimp or chicken on the salad and I chose the chicken and requested that it be sauteed. No problem. After filling up on the ample helpings we asked for the bill. I was stupefied that they charged FIFTEEN dollars for the little chicken topping!!! I didn't say anything, but they really should have told me how much it was going to add to the bill. I would have passed and asked for another glass of wine instead. Great location, attractive crowd and good food but horribly expensive chicken add-ons!

I went to Winnie's Le Bus last weekend for Sunday Brunch with some girlfriends. Let me first say that I am in no way a brunch afficianado, as sunday breakfast for me usually consists of coffee and a piece of toast. The place was packed. We were told there would be a 20 minute wait, but that was actually more like 35-40. Once seated, the service was good. The decor is ok, nothing special. There is a counter where you can eat if you don't feel like waiting for a table. (assuming there are seats.) The menu consists of typical breakfast fare like pancakes, omelets, etc., many types of burgers (beef, turkey, veggie), and there are several great looking vegetarian options on the menu. I had the turkey burger with sweet potato fries, which was great. My friend had the vegetarian brown rice salad, which looked great and is definitely what I'm getting if I go back. I didn't think this was a particularly "brunchy" place. But several things on the menu looked interesting and I'd definitely go back to try them. I'm not in Manayunk often, but if I decide to head there for a day to check out the shops I'd give Winnie's another try.

Le Bus is my standard favorite for taking people when they want to come to Manayunk. There is something for everyone on the menu, and no matter what you order its great. Prices are reasonable for Main Street, and the atmosphere is bold and beautiful with a hint of rustic and sassy. They're really good with kids, but I love going here with "the girls" for a friends lunch. Staff is usually good and the bread... how can anyone complain about the bread. The bread is what won me from the very first visit! I love this place. If something is bad, it is a fluke or they are short handed because someone called out sick or something, because their recipes are just yumm.

Always been consistently good here. Been awhile since I've visited and I wasn't disappointed. The eggs benedict was delicious, eggs cooked perfectly, spinach seasoned perfectly and ham deliciously juicy-one suggestion, toast or grill the brioche. Thanks for the recommendation for the side of sausage, it is very good. Bloody mary is the best I've ever had and I usually make the best. Winnie you have a winner, thanks to the bartender for the drink on him and thanks to Winnie for the drinks as well ;-)

Went there last night for dinner. As a starter I ordered nachos. Probably the worst nachos I've ever had. Not enough black beans, and totally lacking mexican spices. Very bland to say the least. My entree was jambalaya, which was rather good. Generous portions of sausage and shrimp and very tasty. The service as excellent.

Delicious brunch. The breads are amazing. I love the multigrain pancakes and the omeletes as well. I once went for dinner and it was pretty good but nothing special. It is pretty reasonably priced. For brunch - Philly really lacks, so this is a good find! You can also have good people watching and it is nice to sit outside in good weather.

Party of seven and we got a table in less than five minutes. Wait staff was very attentive (I drink a lot of water and my glass was always full without asking). They have a reasonable beer and wine selection (as well as tea). I have read all of the below reviews and am convinced that none of those people ever tried the spanakopita. Seriously, I have never been to Greece but I have been to Tarpon Springs, FLA and have never ever tasted spanikopta that melts in your mouth - until tonight at Le Bus!! My dinner companions all seemed quite pleased with their selections. The pear salad looked amazing (and I am told was super). They also have more than one vegetarian selection to include making their own veggie burger. The cookies were yummy too - try the rocky road cookie! I would go back tomorrow night if I could!!

I love coming to Winnies! I've been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner and i can tell you that it get super super crowded for breakfast so be prepared to wait if you have a big group with you. I usually just go with my boyfriend so we get seated quickly bc tables for 2 are always aplenty. The service can be a little slow but that's just because they are so crowded. But you get some great bread (looooove the cornbread) and there is fresh jam (no packets here) on the table that is amazing. I always get the huevos ranchoes which comes with Parmesan potato wedges (YUM!). But I've tried their pancakes (banana walnut is pretty awesome) as well. For lunch, I loved the salmon burger. I read another review claiming that dissed it but I had no problem with it and it was cooked to perfection. I've also tried the black bean enchilada which was good. Basically they have great food (even for vegetarians) and great atmosphere (I've seen Winnie around a few times). I would totally recommend coming here!

Ok, so picture this. It's my first trip to Manayunk, and I've heard such great things about it, so I'm pretty excited. After driving around for a bit, we found a good parking space, and decided to get out and explore. We'd driven past Winnie's and spoken about trying it, but we were pretty much open to whatever caught our eyes. We walked to Winnie's and looked at the menu. Immediately, the Colorado salad (I think that's what it was called, because I can't find it on the menu now) caught my eye. My friend didn't see anything she liked though, so we kept it moving. We stopped into a fabulous furniture store, and a few other stores before deciding to go back to Winnie's for lunch. Our waitress was really friendly - sorry I don't remember your name, Ma'am. She brought us some yummy bread - raisin nut, cornbread and pumpernickel, I believe. The raisin nut was delicious, the cornbread was good and the pumpernickel was good with the super yummy preserves. So anyway, I ended up ordering my salad, plus candied walnuts (candied walnuts make everything better), and it ended up being fabulous! Grilled, well-seasoned chicken breast, asparagus, tomatoes, bleu cheese and candied walnuts, all mixed up with a yummy, unknown dressing make for one very happy Cara. My friend loved her turkey burger as well. We ate outside, and witnessed this woman trying to parallel park - she was the worst. It made for an interesting lunch. I'd definitely go back the next time I'm in the area.

I love this place. The parking situation is abysmal on Main Street in Manayunk, but it's worth parking in one of the lots and trotting over to Le Bus for some good eats. Especially popular at brunch time on Sundays, I advise arriving before 11am. If you get a parking space and arrive before it's too crowded, everything else about this place (especially for brunch) is wonderful. A bright, welcoming atmosphere, this place caters to people of all ages with friendly staff and a nicely-decorated space overall. The service was a little slow, but our waitress was very considerate and kept us filled with baskets of fresh bread galore. Once my food arrived-- the pancakes were fluffy and freshly cooked. I ordered some freshly squeezed orange juice, too, and it was so delicious I had already finished it by the time my food came!! I've come here for dinner and the dinner food is quite good then...but in terms of a brunch place in Manayunk, this is the place to go.

One word, terrible! My friend and I wanted to grab a quick bite to eat, so we ordered some chicken sandwiches. The service was absolutely horrible, we had to wait 1/2 hour for 2 sandwiches, even worse a party of three came in about 10 min after us and still got their meal first. I would highly recommend skipping this place on a stroll through Manayunk.

My husband and I wanted to go out to dinner, but we like to bring our dog dinning w/ us. So we chose Le Bus. They always have a large crowd so I figured they must have something good to offer. I was right. We went down around 6:15 and only had to wait 10 minutes for an outside table. The bread was really good, we got a second basket. We both started w/ soup. I had a black bean corn gazpacho which was really good, but had too much stuff in it for me, so i didn't really eat much of it. Tim had the clam chowder which was really good. For dinner tim had salmon w/ mashed potatoes and broccoli. It was really good, but he did say it was a little fishy. I had the risotto w/ shirmp and scallops. It was amazing. I love risotto, but its something you have to order out since it takes so long to make. It was really good and filling, i brought home half of it. The prices were very reasonable for dining in the area. I highly recommend.

Some friends recently took us here for breakfast during our visit to Philly. It was really lovely! We were seated at a shady table on the sidewalk outside where our friends could sit with their dog. The cafe staff even brought out a bowl of water for her--very thoughtful. Service was fast and friendly, and the food was tasty. I had an omelet, which came with roasted potatoes and fruit on the side, and a mimosa. The omelet was cooked just to my taste. The mimosa was crisp and refreshing. This was a great place to spend a relaxing weekend morning.

We really enjoyed this place. We have had both brunch and dinner here. Brunch was so delicious. I love the morning sangria. Our dinner experience was amazing. We were seated by the window. It was a quiet evening so the staff was incredibly attentive. We tried a couple appetizers, two entrees, and drinks. Everything was delicious. The best part was that the manager came out and offered us cookies for dessert... For free! What a cute touch. We love it here. Wish we lived closer.

This place is a solid OK. I like the outdoor seating and the food is decent, but I don't always feel satisfied after a meal here. Brunch is definitely better than dinner here, but expect to pay dinner prices at brunch. Also, I've ordered the veggie burger a couple times now, and I don't understand why it comes with a side of tortilla chips and no salsa or guacamole. I usually just ask to sub regular chips or salad. So it's OK. Not great. Not bad. Somewhat pricey.

I really want to give Winnie's a better review. I used to go pretty often (several times a week several years ago) and it was always outstanding. I don't know what's happened, but I can't imagine going back on purpose. I typically go for breakfast, and while the menu is sufficient, it's not extensive. It also lacks basics like just simple eggs. Want 2 eggs? You have to order the breakfast sandwich and then just skip the sandwich part of it. The service is generally pleasant but often slow. Not like they're busy slow. Like watching paint dry slow. The food is alright. The omelettes I've had have been terrible - asked for well done, served wet and runny. The huevos rancheros is usually solid but at $12 for breakfast, it should be! The thing is, Winnie's is expensive, too. I paid $3.50 for a 'pot' of tea that held no more than 20oz (that's the same size as a Starbucks venti). It came with one tea bag (usually at that size, you'd get two) and best of all? Half of the pot LEAKED, slowly, all over the table due to the cracks in the bottom of the pot. And, I know this is nit-picking but they added the tea bag to the pot of hot water for me. That's fine for herbal, but black tea can end up terrible and bitter if it steeps too long. There's a reason there's a steeping time on the tag. So all in all, today I paid $24 for one person for 1 breakfast including tea, no juice or fruit, and pleasant but slow service. This is the best experience I've had here in a while, but I won't be going back. In comparison, my husband and I pay the same price to get 2 full breakfasts down the street at Gregs with outstanding service, properly cooked food and beverages that don't leak. I'm sticking with Gregs.

With businesses coming and going perpetually in Manayunk, Winnie's is one of those dependable generally delicious spots I feel like I am confident will be around for years to come. I am almost too afraid to get attached to a new spot down on Main Street for I fear it will close up by the time next summer rolls around :/, which is why I feel like I can let myself feel a little love for Winnie's. First of all there's usually not a horribly long wait, as its a large place with a ton of seating, indoor and out and at the bar which is nice for variety. I have also been for brunch and lunch, both of which there are some pretty tasty options. It's standard casual American fare, nothing fancy or game changing, but thats also what makes me come back. Its a classic and it won't go out of style...ever. So when in doubt I find myself ending up here to satiate my hunger and thirst. They have a decent draft list and some good cocktail specials, also a super family friendly place which is nice to find on Main Street. They are known for their bread, so I can tell you that if you order a sandwich it will most likely be really good. I get a turkey club sans mayo thank you very much or if I am here for brunch the yogurt and granola is pretty great. Long live Winnie's!

I really enjoyed lunch at Winnie's...the complimentary breads were tasty. My partner ordered the smoked salmon platter and I ordered the kale salad...he also ordered the spicy bloody mary...all was tasty and we definitely want to come back!! The service was fast and friendly! Our waiter was very nice too!! We will be back for brunch!

Stopped in here with two girlfriends on a Sunday morning for brunch, and was seated right away inside. What an adorable, sunny place right on Main St! We ordered (cute) cocktails-the man mosa and their special, the tropical mimosa (think pineapple juice), the huevos rancheros, omelette, and a frittata (made with egg whites). One of my friends who's a returner is obsessed with their bacon and told us we had to get it, so we got side orders of that as well. Food took about 25 minutes to arrive, but we got a bread basket full of delightful raisin bread and corn bread with some jam that looked homemade while we waited. I'll be honest that my huevos rancheros was not my favorite-it was big with way too much sour cream, no beans, just nothing fancy-but the bacon was on point! And at ~$23 a person, it's a pretty good deal as well! Cute enough that I'd bring people back and try something new!

Came here for brunch but we just missed it! Booooo! My friend boasted about how good the bread is here. So when the basket arrived to the table I was excited to try it. Unfortunately, I was not as impressed as she previously was. For my entrée: Creamy turkey noodle soup with 1/2 sandwhich of brisket with cheese: the soup was very creamy, tasty and hit the spot. The brisket itself was way too greasy for my liking. The server was very friendly, but it felt like she would forget about us for lengths of time. Eh, I was not overly impressed and would prefer to try other venues before returning here

This street is full of restaurants. So it was hard to pick one since there were so many options. So I used my Yelp app and decided to pick this place. This place is pretty large and has a bar. Being in town for work, I was looking to spend every penny of my allowance. I had fish and chips, which had way too much batter and was breaded way too much. The fish inside was really tender and not dry. The fries were just regular fries, nothing special. I also had this Meditteranean dish (no meat), which had brown rice, broccoli, carrots, peppers, onions, sunflower seeds, almonds, raisins & walnuts, hummus and pita bread, this was quite refreshing and cleansing in a way. They didn't have a strawberry shake but the waiter was so nice that she decided to make one for us out of scratch. For a moment, I was a little hesitant but what the heck, i'll give it a try, It was not bad at all. This is what I call service, going out of their way to make the customer happy and providing me with an experience, most people do not understand this simple concept, happy customer means high likely of repeat business or recommendation to other friends. Lots of options for vegetarians. There is a small general parking lot near by, requires self payment.

Two thumbs way down. The worse service and weekend menu. Will never go back. You have to do better.

Well, it's good to see that Le Bus hasn't change one bit since I left Manayunk many years ago. I think this is both a positive and a bit of a downfall. On the positive side, the food is good and the menu has a nice variety of choices. The space is also really lovely with all of the unfinished wood and nice natural lighting. On the downfall side, the service is not and has never been topnotch. It's not terrible but not great. Also, I always hope that the food will be even better than it ends up being. The descriptions always get me super excited and then the execution falls flat a bit. A perfect example is the bread. They make bread. They varieties sound awesome and every time I go, the bread basket comes and is always a bit stale or dry. Boo. To sum it up, this is a perfect spot to grab something to eat in Manayunk but don't expect to be wowed. Expect to leave content and full which works in my book!

The decor and atmosphere is warm and soft-the only thing going for the restaurant besides it's location. I went here for restaurant week with my boyfriend. We had a starter salad that was WAY too tart (lemon juice galore). We ordered the seasonal risotto that had squash, sounds good right? It was a mushy over salty mess (and believe me I LOVE salt- this was WAY too much). Then we had the apple fritter dessert which was a soggy and chewy mess amidst the ice cream (that was the only yummy thing about the dessert). The food was WAY overpriced for the quality. We also spit the meal and the server didn't tell us about the extra plate charge (annoying). Even though we would have paid for it, it's bad service to not notify the customer of those charges. I also ordered a soda water and it was $2.50! WOAH! WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for something that probably came out of the soda dispenser- not even fancy schmancy bottled. Service was fine. Not exceptional, not horrible. Don't need to go there again. Won't go there again. Overpriced and less than medicare food.

Only being here a couple times, this place is a great spot for their outdoor seating on those nice days/nights. Right on the Main Street in Manayunk, I came here when visiting my cousin who lives around the area. On both occasions, the service was great and the environment was perfect for a semi-quiet brunch and dinner. First time here, wanting only a quick bite before heading into the city, I ordered the Honey Chipotle Wings from their appetizer menu. The wings are definitely very sweet from the honey but still having a mild spice from the chipotle, something that I would definitely order again to share. Second time for breakfast, I decided to get their Eggs Benedict, which was a bit of a disappointment. They used a buttered bread rather than the original English muffin; their bread made it taste very different from the original Benedict, which I didn't like as much. For those who like it, have you ever tried with the English muffin?! My cousin ordered the banana walnut pancakes, which were great since it had actual pieces of banana and walnuts inside the pancakes. Their syrup was on the side as well, so it didn't make the pancake soggy by the time we ate it. I would come back for breakfast if I didn't feel like going into the city for breakfast, but I would not order the Eggs Benedict. I would definitely come back for dinner and try their other things out.

3.5 stars. I had the veggie burger and sweet potato fries. I must say I was impressed with the burger, housemade and flavorful. It is served with guac and salsa. Those were good too, but next time I will just add cheese and lettuce and tomato vs going mexican. Oat topped bun was so dry, def opt for the brioche bun instead.

This place needs a real chef. Went for brunch with my husband. I enjoy the Le Bus lunch sandwiches at their Rittenhouse shop so I thought the restaurant would be good. I was so wrong. The ambiance in the restaurant is awesome. It's like being in a country bakery. Super cute and cozy. We sat down and were immediately greeted by our server who was very sweet. She brought over a basket of cold, stale bread, some pats of butter in aluminum foil and a mason jar full of jelly. The idea behind the bread basket is awesome. It is a restaurants opportunity to make a first impression and especially in a restaurant/bakery, an opportunity to have your patrons leave with loaves of bread. The bread was probably delicious when it was fresh and maybe would have been good if it was warmed. It was cold, hard and stale. I ordered huevos rancheros and my husband ordered a ham and cheese omelet. The omelet came out on a plate covered in water or pineapple juice (because when I think cozy brunch in December I want pineapple...) and some cold, undercooked potatoes that had been cooked in mushed peppers and cheese? The omelet was rubbery and inedible. The huevos rancheros were offensive. It was a patty of scrambled eggs on top of cold tortilla chips, covered in cold, shredded cheese and salsa. With pineapple on the side. Gross and inedible. The eggs were weird and rubbery like the omelet. We asked the server if they used fresh eggs and she said no, they came pre-mixed in a carton. Two inedible breakfasts and two cups of coffee came to $27.00. For a $27.00 breakfast I expect a real egg. How can this place be in business when they care so little about the quality of the ingredients of their food? In a city that is full of local farms, markets, gardens and butchers, how can you use pre-scrambled eggs in a carton? It's offensive.

The wife wanted sushi so I picked a place in Manayunk because we had a Restaurant.com gift certificate. When the place was closed, we decided to wander Main Street and eat at a place that was open and looked okay. Oddly enough on weekday afternoons a lot of places are closed down for lunch entirely or between lunch and dinner so our choices were more limited than one might expect. We finally decided on Winnie's because it was open. We ate outside since the weather was nice and we were hidden under a canopy that shielded us from the sun. The friendly server was there immediately and we ordered drinks - a cider for her and a beer for me. It took over 10 minutes to get two beverages that came from the tap which seemed to set the mood for the visit, although the server also brought some bread which was tasty enough. We ordered our meals - she went for the nachos and added chicken and I ordered the Turkey Club. Given how long the beverages took, I ran to feed the meter to ensure we wouldn't go over. I got back to the restaurant just in time to see the server delivering the food. The nachos were already a little cold, which meant the cheese had already congealed into a mass by the time the wife started eating them. She was unable to finish it. She said the taste was merely okay and it wasn't very flavorful. My sandwich had a strange taste to it - I felt it was from the cheese which seemed a lot more bright than cheddar would normally be. The homemade chips it came with were not as fresh as would have been preferred, but they were decent. Overall we received meh food and meh service and the price for essentially one appetizer, one sandwich and two beers came to $50 with a tip. All I was thinking as I paid it was, man, we could have got two steaks for only a little bit more, or hit one of the Italian eateries on Main Street and stuff our faces for about the same. Meh food, meh service, meh value? Yeah, I don't think we'll be back.

I love this place! Breakfast or dinner are both good. They have fun drinks that change with the seasons and lots of healthy options. If you want to go there for breakfast be prepared to wait. Gets very packed. The bread basket alone is worth the trip tough. You get a a random sampling of their fresh baked bread and it's all amazing. Spread some of the homemade jan on it. Mmmmm

I've been to Winnie's for brunch a few times. It's always packed! But, the food it's worth the wait. You get a pretty big portion of food and the mimosas are delicious :-). The staff is very friendly and accommodating even on a super busy day.

Crowded on a late Sunday afternoon which is the sign of a good restaurant. The salmon burger was, sadly, nothing spectacular. The salmon was a bit overcooked and lacked seasoning that could've made the natural flavor of the burger sing. In addition, the bread-to-salmon radio was a tad too high especially considering the dry wheat bun. While the burger was passable, the sweet potato fries were a disaster. They were limp and soggy owing to the fact that they were cut like regular fries. But sweet potatoes don't hold up like regular potatoes. Maybe I'll come back after restaurant week for another try.

Ate dinner here last Tuesday ( after Memorial Day ) and it was a relatively quiet nite. We opted to sit inside due to the rain. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. We were there for dinner / business meeting and she seemed to pick up on that and gave us our space. The food was tasty and timed out well. Really enjoyed the lobster Mac and cheese !

I had such high hopes and Winnie's LeBus met them all. A friend and I went for breakfast around 10:30am on a weekday. For me, breakfast means pancakes and sausage. Simple, yet so often screwed up by heat lamps, fake syrup, poor quality sausage (which is saying a lot, no?) I chose the buttermilk pancakes with blueberries, my friend got the six grain pancakes with bananas, and we immediately traded a pancake when they arrived. If you've a hankering for pancakes but you're concerned all those grains won't quite fill the 'pancake spot' in your belly, worry no more. They were lovely. The buttermilk pancakes were perfect as well, blueberries bursting with flavor. A review from 2010 states that the advertised maple syrup is actually of the Aunt Jemima variety -- that was NOT my experience. It's Pennsylvania Maple syrup, it pours a bit thicker than NY or Vermont Maple, but the flavor and manner in which it saturated the pancakes was spot on. So, yeah -- one of the few places in the area that serves maple syrup. The biggest surprise was the eggs. A side order of a single egg wasn't on the menu, so I asked if I could get one scrambled egg. The Scrambled Eggs listed on the menu were $7, which seemed crazy. But then my egg arrived, and the first words out of my mouth were "That's a $7 egg. That is totally worth $7." I've never loved an egg before, I'm very pleased to have had the experience. And we added a couple loaves of bread to our check to take home. I'm especially fond of the multi-grain. My friend and I agreed that we need to go back very soon. Oh -- and it was quiet enough for us to have a long detailed conversation without struggling to hear one another. Yay!

I've been here a few times. The service offered by this place is great, no complaints on that. Now as for the food and drinks, absolutely not impressed. It seems like they're not very consistent with their food and drinks as far as the taste is concerned. The first time I came here, had their sangria and thought it was great. The wings and lobster Mac and cheese was good. I came back few months later and ordered a glass of wine that tasted like stale water, ordered a sangria that taste mostly like juice. Also ordered their lobster Mac and cheese again which tasted very bland. I believe that dinner experience is enough to prevent me from coming back here again for their food and drinks. There are better places in manayunk.

I love Manayunk, first time here at Winnie's soaked up some sun an ate outside. The waitress was nice very attentive. I ordered a burger and fries an it was really good you can definitely tell the difference in the meat of a quality burger. Worth the money.

Met up with a coworker for lunch and was surprised at how full the place was - they do a good weekday lunchtime business! We ate light, he had the Thai noodle salad, which he said was very good, and I had the Blue Colorado salad, which comes with grape tomatoes, asparagus, grilled corn, and crumbled bleu cheese on top of greens and spinach with a yummy vinegarette. I opted to add the chili chicken to my salad, which was a nice addition on a cold day, as it was served warm and with a nice amount of spice. Overall, a very good salad, and a nice bustling yet cozy ambiance, but it was a little pricey - my salad was $13.75, which seemed high for an albeit good spinach salad with chicken. That being said, the food was good enough that I'd definitely come back again (with a bigger appetite!).

While I can usually validate spending a little more for breakfasts when at a nicer location, seeing prices over 10$, without a hint of meat in them, just didn't really ring to be proper pricing. I'm well aware that great, local produce is more expensive. However a three egg scramble without a hint of meat does not exactly seem to really meet those typically experienced. I am a true believer that food is worth the cost. Especially when delicious. However. Pricing of upwards of 3.00$ an egg is a little ridiculous.

@Jesy 6 Winnie's Le Bus only uses fresh, locally purchased produce and ingredients in their menu items. Your server was probably new and didn't know what she was talking about

After a long, lovely run on Forbidden Drive on a beautiful day, my running partner and I headed to Le Bus for breakfast. While it looked crowded from the outside, when we went in, we were seated immediately. Our server greeted us and got our drinks right away, and took our order. My friend and I had a hard time deciding between several delicious looking items, so we decided to split 2 meals. We ordered an omelet with spinach, onion and cheddar, which came with home fries, and an order of the 6-grain pancakes with bananas and walnuts. While we waited for our order, our waitress delivered a basket of bread, which was awesome. The cornbread was great, as was the home made strawberry jam. Our food arrived in what felt like no time, despite how busy the restaurant seemed to be. The potatoes seemed a little too well done to me, but everything else was excellent. The eggs were a nice fluffy consistency, and had a good amount of the fillings. The pancakes were AMAZING. I absolutely loved them. We left with full bellies. As we left, I was very tempted to pick up one of the fresh cookies or other baked goods being sold at the register, but my full belly instructed me otherwise. After a great experience, I would definitely like to come back to Le Bus.

This is a quality spot for unadventurous palettes and those who enjoy a classic yet semi casual dining experience. We were seated by the front window and it was neat to watch people shuffle by on Main Street. The bread lives up to the hype! Service was great and the food was on point. I don't understand the low star reviews!

Stopped here after nice Sunday bike ride. Sign outside says will refill water bottles, add air to tires, so definitely friendly to cyclists. There is a nice dining room and bar inside and lots of side walk seating outside. We were seated outside and fortunately for us were seated next to a couple with a cute black and white dog, so definitely dog friendly seating outside, My husband had the salmon burger and sweet potato fries which he said were outstanding. I had the brown rice salad. The menu said it is a long time favorite and I can easily see why. The brown rice had nuts, carrots, raisin over lettuce with two sides of hummus and lots of whole grain pitas. Service was a bit slow but attentive. Definitely recommend and cannot wait to go back and take advantage of their great beer selection.

I've only been here for brunch but it is one of my go-to places to eat on a weekend. I've had several of their brunch meals but always with a side of sausage. I don't normally order a side of sausage but it is that good. Recently I had their 9-grain pancakes with bananas. I was pleasantly surprised when I received the pancakes and the bananas were cooked into the pancake - score! Everything I've ever gotten there is fresh and tasty. I really enjoy the bread basket that includes cornbread, rye, and some other yummy slices and jelly. Depending on who is paying I would advise getting a mimosa. I word it that way because I think they are too expensive but very tasty. Overall I love this place. I can always expect fresh and tasty food. I also can always expect a wait (on the weekends for brunch). I've found that if you arrive at 10:45 or earlier you don't have too long of a wait. One thing I don't like about this place is when you wait for your table you are constantly in the way of the servers and you are squished into a small space with everyone else.

Meet friends here for breakfast. It was a weekday it was mellow. We got a basket of their breads which was very good- the beads were a variety of the breads they have.I ordered a frittata-It was good, it came with some fruit and home fries.I do wish I could of had eggs benedict which they have for brunch.Everything was good, everyone enjoyed their food and we were very full! We did have two baskets of the bread before we had our meal.Going to go back for lunch or dinner.

We took our toddler to breakfast one morning and really wished we had skip this place. We ve been before and it's an ok place. People seem to love it but I think it's overrated. Our server was down right rude to my daughter. Apparently playing with the sugar packets was not acceptable. She seemed annoyed that I sent back my lipstick coffee mug ( super gross). The food was average. I had a $10 bagel sandwich which was not even that good. My husbands was expensive too and not that good. We will never be back!

How is it possible that I've yet to review Le Bus? I've been coming here for well nigh 10 years (yikes, how did that happen?), and it's a linchpin of the Manayunk restaurant scene. As most reviews note, Le Bus is known or breakfast/brunch. It's probably the best place in Manayunk for recovering the morning after. But it's also great for lunch, dinner, and late night snacks. In fact, they are often serving food when lots of other places have closed, such as Monday nights at 9pm, when Manayunk is a ghost town. The menu features a nice mix of American cuisine, embellished with flourishes from other flavor profiles, like Thai. The highlights of the dinner menu include: thai turkey salad, the honey chipotle wings (these are awesome), and I think their nacho plate is quite good. All of the food is well prepared and nicely presented. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here. The bar has a decent array of liquors and wines, and beer selection is all craft on the taps (mostly stuff you've had if you try lots of beers) and domestics in bottles. The bar area is spacious, comfortable, and pleasant to sit at. The best part of Le Bus is the people. It's locally owned, and you can tell that the owners put a lot of pride into it and run a tight ship. They hire all really nice people to work there, the kitchen crew is clearly in sync, and the exposed kitchen is immaculate. Seriously immaculate. I was watching them scrub down the room at the end of the night and was super impressed. You can't go wrong with Le Bus.

Overall wasn't too impressed. It is always a popular brunch spot on the weekend and it does have about 10+ outdoor tables right on Main Street which are great on a nice day. We found the service to be a little slow even on a random weekday and the food to be a little disappointing for the price. We tried a salmon burger which looked tiny on the bun it was served on and also had a quinoa salad which was good, but adding chicken increased the price by 50% which was a little much. Might be worth it to sit outside on a nice day but otherwise could probably find better fate elsewhere

came here during resturant week while visiting a friend. while i loved the seating, the cute european cafe mixed with a small bar on the side, i didn't find the food especially noteworthy. i had the salmon burger and a side of ... fruit?? can't remember. but the burger itself was on the meh side. couldn't really taste any salmon flavor at all... so i ended up putting more thousand island to make the burger tasty. we also had the pancakes which were too doughy for my liking. cute place but probably not a high return factor for me.

I was pumped to find out that it was Restaurant Week here when I was in town! I ordered the Pear Salad, Rosemary chicken, and of course, got the strawberry shortcake dessert. Being able to try 3 things on the menu for only $20? Sign me right the heck up! I love that everything here is organic and locally grown and/or raised (I am such a sucker for that stuff). Our waitress was very sweet and really helped us out. The bread basket was fine...nothing to write home about. My girlfriend got the fish tacos, which was the first thing our waitress recommended. I regret not trying them, but Steph says they were (and always are) out of this world. The atmosphere of this restaurant is right up my alley - cozy, a little rustic, not loud, but welcoming. The bar circles around the middle of the restaurant and leaves a lot of open space, so you don't feel claustrophobic. Anytime I'm back in Manayunk, I'd love to come back to Winnie's!

Had a delicious dinner during the Manayunk Restaurant Week, 3 courses for $20! The pumpkin soup was amazing. The cornbread is delicious that they serve in their bread basket. The butternut squash risotto was a big portion and spectacular. Best risotto I've ever had, and it didn't have any meat in it, just a variety of colorful vegetables! The chicken sandwich my husband had was yummy too. Our server was attentive and friendly. The manager went around to all the tables and asked how the meals were. I look forward to going back!

We came here for dinner on a Friday during Happy Hour and sat at the bar. Nothing on the happy hour menu caught my eye so I ordered the calamari and crab mac & cheese; my BF ordered the meatloaf. I also ordered the strawberry lemonade (alcoholic drink). Everything was tasty especially the raisin bread that was brought out before the meal. The experience was good until the bill came - over $70 for our meal. The bartender kept looking at me because my BF had left to go the car..smh. I don't need to run out on a meal. The food was good and the service was good until the end.

Somebody else already said it: you're not going to be impressed with this place. I'll just list some words that describe it below. 1) Mundane 2) Bad service 3) Lame menu The food just isn't good. I recommend avoiding this place. You'll be disappointed; or at best full, but not pleased.

I've eaten at Winnie's a few times over the years and most recently this past weekend for brunch. It's great to see a local running her business and still being successful during the recession. I don't think the food is anything to go positively nuts for but it is good never the less and simple for those palates that cannot handle anything exotic. I have had the pear salad which is one of my favorite salads to eat. I have also had the pancakes which are on the doughy and sweet side. The bread is fantastic! I believe that is one if their specialties. I thought the brunch cocktails were a little pricey considering how basic they are. $8.50-9 mimosas? No thanks. I have never had bad service here and even when it is crowded I've never hate to wait long for a table. I did see The owner break up an argument between a tacky father and another woman. I see a lot of families here and being a wholesome environment I suppose this would be a good place for the kiddos.

I would love to give Winnie's 5 stars for the food and the service. It is Summer and beautiful out right now, but was with elderly parents so we had lunch inside for their comfort. We were bombarded with flies the whole meal that we didn't get to enjoy the experience as we probably should have. I spoke to the waitress who said that's just the way it is, so I asked for the manager. He was very polite, apologized and said they were working on it. While they are working on it, there are plenty of other restaurants to dine at fly free. Best wishes!

Was very pleasantly surprised with this place. Having seen the menu and pictures, I didn't think it would be anything too special, but I guess it just wasn't photogenenic because we had a pretty snazzy breakfast for a work meeting here. We got a variety bread basket with homemade jam and coffee as soon as I sat down...they knew how to win my vote already. Having been to Smokin John's before this, I was happy to see they have a pretty solid brand/atmosphere down that translated to both restaurants in unique and quaint ways that was obviously designed well by the same visionaries. They both have the same type of carefully thought-out decor, with bright flowers on the tables and homey feeling elements like the Winnie's bakery area with all their fresh breads on display like a true bakery. Weathered signage, and angled displays were around but not in a cluttered way. Just felt very happy being in here! I'm always one for a savory breakfast but the 6-grain pancakes were saying "hey!! over here! I'm delicious!"....and they totally were. I got them with bananas and walnuts and it was a great texture to have all the nutty grainy goodness in there. I don't want smooth pancakes ever again after these! everyones who went the egg route said it was some of the best eggs out they've ever had. A few got mimosas/bloody marys and it was refreshing to see they gave full glasses of mimosas and delicious ones too. Use to that mockery of a flute glass, so phew, nice job winnie le fills it. Our server was very personable and great and I definitely want to be back in for lunch or dinner. That outdoor area's definitely going to get taken advantage of this summer!

My first visit to Winnie's was 12/31/13 - I had just moved to Manayunk a few days prior and a girl friend and I were looking for some place to have a late low key NYE dinner. Winnie's sounded good, so off we went! First impressions were that the food was amazing, the service wonderful, and the ambiance/decor very inviting. I think the open floor plan really makes Winnie's stand out from other local Yunk restaurants. The variety of food choices had us taking forever to decide what to eat... it all sounded SO good! Our meal was great! On top of having a great first experience, they gave us a $20 gift card just for the heck of it! Besides using that gift card for another meal at Winnie's, I have continued to come back here because it's such a unique place, really enjoy every time I've been. Went for lunch again yesterday and realized I hadn't written them a review yet, but they definitely are deserving. Oh man and the white wine sangria we had yesterday was absolutely perfect!

Went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't busy. I ordered an omelet and it was great along with the roasted breakfast potatoes. One issue that I had was the service. When you ask for something, it took them 10 minutes or longer. I decided to get up and ask the manager for a refill on my coffee and water, I received it minutes later (15 minutes after I asked). I will not go back because of the service. Again this is a place I want to like, but awful service

I came here for lunch on Memorial Day with a couple friends. It's a nice location on Main St, with a lot of outdoor seating, and a really nice interior. It's decorated with cycling jerseys, there's a full bar with good craft beer and yummy sounding mimosas, and a nice sized dining room. I ordered the Avocado BLT which was awesome. The sweet potato fries were fantastic also - definitely worth it. I wasn't a fan of the dipping sauce they served them with, but they brought me out ranch dressing. My friends got the Thai Chicken Salad which looked really good, and I had a bite of it. It's definitely big enough to get that and something else to share with someone. My sister ordered the tuna sandwich, which she liked. The server was very attentive! The food took quite awhile, which is my only complaint - but I got approximately 10 refills on my water, so that's good. Oh, and you get bread to start with! Delicious.

Went for lunch a few days ago. I love how sunny and bright it is inside. Our waitress was excellent and patient with us during our business lunch. I got a salad with salmon and portobello mushrooms. There were generous helpings of both add one however it made my green salad a bit pricey.

I've only been to Winnie's Le Bus for work related dining, but they do a great job with business lunches and catered events. Recently I attend a lunch catered for a group of 35 or so people. The food was set up buffet style but there were servers around to take care of our drink orders and clear the table. The buffet had a lot of great options including corn chowder, roast beef/roast pork with all of the proper fixings, salad, salmon, chicken, hummus, guacamole, chips/pita, veggies/cheeses, and a few other items. It was really balanced and I was able to try a small sample of pretty much everything I wanted. I believe there was dessert too, but I'm not really a sweet person so I opted to pass on it. Despite the decent sized crowd that was constantly getting up and down for a buffet, the servers were very attentive and were always there if we needed refills. I don't dine in Manayunk too often during my "free time," but I would certainly considering paying Winnie's a visit considering how well I always enjoy myself during lunch.

Cute place. Good food. Excellent service. Came here on a Sunday morning/afternoon for brunch and surprisingly, no wait! Right from the beginning, our service was AWESOME! Was very patient when I was trying to strap in my baby, looking at the menu, undecided on what I wanted, etc. My husband was simple and ordered just eggs and sausage. I ordered the fritata. It had tons of veggies ranging from squash to zuchini to mushrooms, onions and more. Then it was topped off with cheese. It was good but wasn't the best. It needed something else, but not sure what. The 4 stars really comes from the great coffee. Mmm. I really enjoyed the coffee. And again, the service. Our server even brought over toys for my son to play. They def go above and beyond! :-) I do want to come back and check out the dinner menu though.

I only been for breakfast but it's great. Delicious food, raising bread is the best ever! Nice decor and good customer service. Drawbacks: on the expensive side, very popular so make sure u call first.

I've had great meals at this restaurant over the years, and they are a dependable fixture on Main Street, but I have to say that, after last weekend, my family and I are going to find someplace else to have brunch. My son ordered the "adult" portion of french toast from the menu, and what showed up was literally two pieces of french toast bread on a plate with a little pineapple garnish. FOR $13!!!! Initially, we thought that maybe the waiter had messed up the order and given my son a "child" portion instead of the "adult" portion, but no--that's what Winnie's is selling as the adult portion of french toast. Likewise, my wife ordered a salmon burger for more than $14, and what showed up was indeed a salmon burger, but nothing special at all about it--just lettuce and tomato, a bun and a huge pile of potato chips (which she doesn't eat). My smoked salmon "platter" likewise had about 3 or 4 small pieces of smoked salmon on it, for $14. So the bottom line is that we all ordered some pretty expensive items off the menu and got ridiculously small portions in return. I understand that the restaurant business is difficult and rents are expensive in Manayunk, but sheesh, do they really think that their customers don't notice what's going on? I'm fine with paying $13, 14 or more for a nice brunch plate in a great restaurant in Manayunk, but I don't want to feel like my pocket is being picked when I order. What's most disappointing about this is that Winnie's was not run this way even just a few years ago. You could go there on any given weekend morning and get a huge plate of well-prepared food. The restaurant is not the cheapest place in Manayunk, but that's not what it was known for. Now it seems like it's just trying to cut back on portions to boost profits, and that's the sign that we need to find a new place to eat.

We were in Manyunk and decided to stay for dinner. My other half has been here several times before. I ordered the turkey burger and Mini Me had a veggie burger. The sweet potato fries were excellent. Mini Me could not finish her veggie burger, which she said had a nice smoky flavor. The turkey burger was firm, moist, and had a cheesy flavor. My other half had the vegetarian chili, which he said tasted good, but was half a bowl of rice. The service was great, with helpings of bread and warm cornbread brought out for tables to taste. I see why he suggested that we go here. I'll definitely go back - they had many healthy options to choose from.

Have always come for brunch or lunch, however o recently came for dinner and they have a few really great salads that I love and I'm a salad pro. Only downside is that they are pricey, almost $20 each once protein is added on, they are sized pretty well though.

Ended up going here for a work lunch. This menu seemed to have healthier options than most places around. e.g. kale salad, quinoa dishes, and I wouldn't be surprised if they had some gluten free stuff. Ended up getting the crab cake sandwhich with side salad. The waiter told me the side salad comes with the house vinaigrette which really didn't add much flavor to the raw bed of greens but was a good low cal option. The crab cake sandwhich was solid. Had a few larger pieces of crab and wasn't just claw meat and filler. Also had an imperial pumpkin on tap which I was pleased to see. Sandwhiches run about $12. The real treat is their bread which is home made. The crab cake came on brioche which was excellent. They supply their bread to many local places including for all the sandwhich made for take out at Sonoco. Nothing really drawing me back with the array of options on Main Street but a solid pick to mix it up.

A friend and I stopped in here for dinner this past week. It was pretty good! We shared the chipotle wings (see picture) and they were surprisingly delicious. He had a salmon sandwich and I got the Vermont burger. The best part of the meal was this sour cream-horseradish-applesauce concoction for the sweet potato fries! I'd go back for more! Server was very friendly and attentive. They even have nice seating outside on the sidewalk for a nice day/night.

Two words. Family Friendly!! They are always welcoming and thoughtful of our children. Today the waitress brought us a little bowl of goldfish crackers for our daughter to snack on while we waited for breakfast. Awesome!!

Came for restaurant week which is maybe why I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I've heard great things about the bread baskets but ours only came with 2 slices of white bread & 2 slices of cornbread. Nothing spectacular. First course started with either soup or salad... I had the salad and was under-impressed. It was just lettuce with one cherry tomato & one cucumber. The second course was a choice of 4 items: tilapia, meatloaf, pasta & something else I can't remember. I opted for the meatloaf that came with mashed potatoes & broccoli. It was a huge helping with two thick slices of meatloaf with a yummy mushroom & gravy sauce on top. No complaints about the meatloaf but I would have liked more gravy on both the meatloaf & mashed potatoes, personal preference. The one piece of broccoli was so big that I couldn't cut it with my butter knife.. awkward. The third course was a strawberry shortcake. It wasn't the worst meal I've ever had in my life but I was definitely expecting more based on some of the reviews. With all of the other options on Main St I most likely won't be back.

Very nice spot in Manyunk. Our server, Alison B, was exceptionally good (cheerful and conscientious)- especially given how busy the place was near the prime 11:30 Sunday Brunch rush. My frittata was great, as were her 6 grain nut and blueberry pancakes. This is a brunch no-brainier if you're in the area. Come spring time- take a stroll along the canal or the new Venice island if you feel the need walk off some of this hearty deliciousness.

I came here a couple of weeks ago. Our server (I can't remember his name) was very friendly and sociable. I ended up having a couple of issues with the place, but nothing that should deter anyone from going. Kinda limited draft choices, but the 5 or so taps are diverse styles. I opted for a martini and it came with crushed ice. It was in a martini glass with crushed ice so it was both on the rocks and up, it was odd and I don't know if that's something they do regularly... but it was odd. For our first course we ordered the mussels. It took a long time for them to come out. So much time that our server apologized twice for the time and the manager touched in with our table to apologize as well. Whether it was an issue with the kitchen losing our ticket or the server forgetting, who knows. Entrees were delicious and came out in a timely manner. Really good job with the entrees. They ended up making up for the long ticket time on the appetizer by providing my date and I a free desert. It was 2 stale cupcakes but I still appreciated the gesture. Overall a positive experience with a few hiccups that management addressed.

Finally writing my long overdue review for Winnie's after living in this area for less than a year now. Winnie's is an awesome go to breakfast and brunch spot we enjoy going to on weekends with friends, family, or any friends. Haven't been here yet for dinner. Altho they have limited brunch options for hungry vegans, their omnivore choices please my husband and any dining guests we have. My go to meal is veggie burger for brunch. Basic. But love it here! Don't forget to get a side of their sweet potato fries. Service is great! I feel like whenever we walk in it feels like there will be a wait but they a quick to get you seated and settled!

Best brunch place in manayunk for sure! Love their eggs Benedict. I also love their varieties of mimosas. Nothing more I could ask for from a hungover brunch

Great food, great service. Have been here a few times and have always had good service. We had dinner here a few months ago and it was delicious. They have enough of a variety to please even picky eaters - and eveything tasts super fresh and is yummy. Stopped here for coffee to meet up with some friends that were in town for the holiday weekend, it was a nice relaxing time with some decent strong coffee. I would love to try out their pastries/breakfast items one day. We will definitely be going here for dinner again, we have had some great dishes!

This is a solid restaurant on Main Street Manayunk. It's has a great bar with a good selection (which is often forgotten about as Main St is home to many bars). I've been her several times and have always experienced solid service. It's has a solid menu with a variety of options and the food is pretty tasty. They are always full which is a good sign that it's worth checking out. For all the college folk in the neighborhood its also a good acceptable place to take parents when visiting. Vibe is casual but you still get a solid dine out experience.

I have dined here 3x, most recently twice for lunch. This is a perfect lunch destination for a group of 4-8 as the menu is diversified enough to appeal to all. Great location on center court of Main Street. The restaurant decor is finely set with cycling jerseys. They also have a regulation racing shell set between neat wood beams over the bar area. They do need to clean the visible dust bunnies though... My recent menu selection was the Colorado Chicken sandwich. A nice juicy sandwich complimented with a side of fries. The bread basket, pre arrival of entree is also very good. The beer selection looked great as well. I noticed the Goose Island 312 on tap which is a very fine beer for the summer season. Enjoy this one!

I've eaten here three times and everything has been delicious. I've had the Blue Colorado Salad - the chicken was perfectly cooked and the salad was very well dressed. I've had the Brown Rice Nut Salad. Also phenomenal! I definitely will be coming back.

The reviews are correct, this place is just ok. Charming storefront invites higher expectation. Even the baked breads in the window were a letdown when our party of 6 received a basket of 6 sorry looking slices. The menu was creative but for example the quinoa salad really lacked any flavor at all. My final comment concerns the children's meals that only come with fries I asked for broccoli instead and the waitress said no problem. Although she neglected to say there would be an additional $1.50 charge on the kids meal. This is a problem for two reasons 1) Waitresses should tell you when there is an up charge. 2) in the age of childhood obesity we should encourage kids to choose steamed veggies over fried rather than charging more.

Great food but absurd prices! I hadn't been in quite sometime but jeez-the salad and coffee (plus appetizer split between my buddy and I) was friggin $32 ! Not really even that much food though it was tasty and the server was good....just too much money to consider going again anytime soon-ridiculous pricing !

Best huevos rancheros ever. It's the only entree I ever get here and I'm all about trying something new. Yup, it's that good. Also love the mimosa selection. The only negative thing I will say is that this place is worth it for brunch only. I did not enjoy dinner here one bit. But you cannot go wrong with brunch. It is a little bit on the pricey side especially for a brunch place, but they do give larger portions, so you definitely get your money's worth

I've been here a few times since living in manayunk and have always had a mediocre experience. Pros: One thing I really like about Winnie's is that they have a variety of healthier menu options (gluten-free, wheat buns, etc) and are very accommodating with substitutions. I choose to come here for dinner when I am dieting or with someone who has food restrictions for this reason. I also like their outdoor seating area for the warmer months, it's situated in a prime people-watching location on main street. Lastly, their bread basket served before dinner is delicious and includes a variety if breads including corn bread(my fave). Cons: Their menu doesn't have a big selection and is not so good for people who do not tend to eat healthy. They have a good happy hour every day but only offer it at the very small inside bar. Their breakfast/brunch is not the best, there are many other places to go in manayunk. Finally, I think everything n their menu is a little overpriced. Neither the quality of food or ambiance of the restaurant are upscale, yet all their entrees are priced this way and their beers are too pricey for the size glass they are served in.

I have been to Winnie's a few times and I loved the food. I tried the steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus on my first trip there and it was delicious. A big portion of food with a lot of flavor. I went in October and there was a nice additional of seasonal items. My roommate got the stuffed pork chop and it was a huge serving as well. The second time I went I got the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I was a little hesitant to order the meatloaf but the waitress gave it great reviews. I'm not a fan of mushrooms and it came with a mushroom gravy, but the waitress said they were big enough chunks it could easily be picked out. When the meatloaf came, there were mushrooms ground into the meat, after telling the waitress I didn't like mushrooms, I was hoping she would've told me about this. However, I still ate the meatloaf and the mushroom was fine enough that I couldn't really taste it. One feature I like about Winnie's is that they have a small bakery section at the front of the store with fresh breads and cupcakes. I picked up a loaf of bread and a cupcake to take home and both were very fresh and delicious.

I've eaten here twice and both times happy! The bar staff is super friendly, and I really love their hummus platter and the brown rice nut salad dish. Very fresh, yummy, and unique combo of ingredients. Loved it! Lots of healthy options on the menu which is a big plus!

I'm always giving this place a "second" chance but it never gets any better. Overly priced for what you get. They are trying to be fancy but it's not working. Manayunk is at a loss for good brunch spots anymore. You'd think places with small menus would be better since they don't have a lot to work with....the breakfast potatoes always taste like they are old and just reheated in the fryer. Coffee is mediocre and usually luke warm. Pancakes are probably the best thing on the menu! Also being known for bread, their bread baskets come out cold and slightly stale. I want to like it but....

I went here for my first time for brunch. I had rode my bike about ten miles and was famished. The wait for two was about 15 minutes. Once seated the waitress dropped off a basket of sweet breads. One was cornbread and the other was a nutty/fruity combo, both were tasty. I ordered the banana nut pancakes, a side of bacon, and roasted red potatoes. The pancakes and bacon were cooked to perfection. I loved how the bananas in the pancakes melted with the actual pancake. The nuts provided a nice crunch. The roasted potatoes were a little tough, it was almost as if they had been sitting around for a couple of hours. Def skip the roasted red potatoes. They offer mimosas, but they were a little pricey. Anything over $4 for a champagne flute of champagne and OJ is out of my budget. I'm from the land of bottomless mimosas AKA D.C. and I just couldn't justify buying mimosas a la carte. Not sure if they are BYOB but I did not see anyone with their own stash so i'm assuming they aren't. Overall I was pleased with the services and the food. I will come back.
