Went here today to grab a quick lunch and ordered an Italian hoagie. For the price of $8, I expected more than a few pieces of meat and more of a variety given that it's suppose to be an 'Italian' hoagie. I should have just gone to Wawa because I know what to expect and it's cheaper too!

I went here today hoping I could get a nice cheap deli sandwich. I wound up paying over $8 for a turkey on rye. I also couldn't order just a sandwich, they insist on sides. Just give me the sandwich and charge less. That is insanity. The bread was soggy after a 2 minute walk back to my office. Back to wawa for lunch next time.

My go-to spot when I have more than fifteen minutes to grab lunch. The owners are super friendly and remember their regulars. The Nosh is good for breakfast and lunch, but they do unfortunately close pretty early at 4:00. Their pastrami Reuben is pretty decent, all things considered, and the free pickle and fruit or chips helps make the relatively high prices for lunch sandwiches sting a bit less. They're great for a cheap breakfast, though--a bagel with cream cheese is just $2.00.

The name would lead you to believe that "The Nosh" is a Jewish deli, but I'm pretty sure it's run by an Asian couple! The people who work here are friendly and efficient, but the food is overpriced considering the small portions. ~7 bucks for a sandwich, pickle, and a small side of potato salad or coleslaw is a bit steep in my opinion. The sandwich should be stacked mile high or made with premium ingredients for that price. Still, it's conveniently located and the menu is pretty extensive. Food is decent. My go-to order is the egg salad sandwich.

This place is friendly and the food is good, basic diner food. The service is fast and the prices are very reasonable. What more do you want from a diner?

Why all the so-so reviews, folks? I had passed by the Nosh many times over the last couple years but never thought to stop in and grab anything. Like another reviewer said, "Nosh" is a Jewish colloquialism so one would think that this is a Jewish deli, and even though it isn't, it's a perfect place for students and professionals alike to grab something quick, affordable, and delicious of the breakfast or lunch variety. While running some errands in the area, I was craving something breakfasty, so I stopped in for an egg and cheese on croissant and some coffee. The coffee is self serve with different varieties of milk/cream, sugar, and even flavored syrups, plus you get plenty of bean for your buck! ($1.15 for a small, $1.35 for a medium, and $1.50 for a large--move over, Starbucks!). Staff is friendly, courteous, and efficient. Given the amount of time I spend in University City, I will definitely hit up the Nosh again for a bite!

4 visits in 2014. Cute little breakfast and lunch place at Drexel and close to Penn medicine offices. Family owned and very well managed eatery with hardworking cook staff who ensure your order is perfect. Breakfast menu is big and reasonably priced. Lunch also has a big menu and very varied. I love everything Ive ever gotten here. So does my 22 year old daughter.

This place is disgusting! I came in at 9 this morning for a breakfast sandwich, since the Big Blue lunch truck is on its annual August vacation... Lots of people were waiting but I decided to try it out. As I waited and waited to place my order, I naturally watched the cooking staff working behind the counter. Lots of microwaving and moving around mystery food in suspect-looking parchment paper. Wet parchment paper peeled off every food item, lining bowls and dishes. Very few items were actually being cooked on the flat top. 15 minutes later... I finally got to order my whitefish salad sandwich on toasted rye with tomato. All I could think was, "I immediately regret this decision." The cashier, a smiley Asian woman (I gather the owner) rang me up for $4.59. 15 minutes later... (no joke) My food is up at the counter. But the woman is holding it and trying to tell me something. I couldn't understand a word she was saying, something about breakfast and lunch. I said, yes this is breakfast for me, I'm Jewish! After a minute of her jabbering and showing me my receipt, I gathered that she undercharged me and wanted more money. REALLY? For a tiny sandwich on toast with just tomato that was 30 minutes in the making? I ended up paying the extra, bringing the total to over $8 for quite possibly the worst sandwich I've ever had! Bread was already cold and hard by the time I got it. Whitefish salad seemed like just mayo and there was barely any on there. Tomato was mushy and barely even red. Pickle that came on the side was inedible, spongey and dried out, overflowing with seeds. Chips that came on the side were those Utz bags that cost $0.25 a piece when bulk buying. This place looked sketchy from the start and I should have known before I threw $8 away. I won't be back!

No, no, and again NO! I just ordered a chicken salad club from this place. HUGE mistake! First of all, it's chicken salad... it already has mayo in it. So why the dude behind the counter decided to put more is beyond me. The mayo was congealed, chunky (yes chunky) and off in color. There was barely any chicken in the chicken salad (guess they decided to cut costs). I was tempted to take the sandwich back but couldn't because it ended up making me feel ill. Huge was at $8.59... I suppose that's the going rate for nastiness these days. DO NOT eat at this place. I should have been tipped off when it was practically empty at the height of lunch hour.

My sandwich was good! I got a Turkey Special (not on the menu). The turkey was oven roasted and hot, which is weird for a special but amazingly good because it was like freshly made hot. It's not really a Jewish Deli as the name might suggest but for $7.95 I got a yummy fresh sandwich, a pickle and a small side of potato salad. It was pretty quick too and the service was friendly. I will be back. Maybe for a Turkey Club :)

2.5 stars - I am giving them the benefit of the doubt. I stopped in here early one morning because it is across the Street from Penn Medicine where I had an appt. Good a simple bagel with cream cheese. Nothing special, nothing horrific either. Glad they were around.

Nosh is just a little deli serving breakfast or lunch. The breakfast selections are a bit pricier..than say the lunch carts that are all over this street. Lunch is not bad but it usually get really crowded around noon. There's nothing really spectacular that would draw me into the Nosh rather than say..the Wawa around the block. I do prefer their chicken noodle soup when I'm feeling under the weather. $10 credit card minimum.

I think it's a good basic sandwich place for lunch. Decent sandwiches (you can get half a Tuna sandwich for ~$5 or a full sized one for ~$7?) that come with a side (chips or mixed salads). I personally think it's expensive for deli food with small portions. But the people are SUPER nice and it's quick, and the place is decently clean.

Solid place to grab breakfast or lunch. The Nosh is an NY-style deli with zero-frills atmosphere. They do have some nice outdoor seating though, for the warmer months. They have fresh pastries for breakfast (I love the cinnamon muffin), and very good breakfast sandwiches for a good price (I love the bacon, egg, and cheese on toasted wheat for about $3). Lunch can be a little pricey, but the food is good. They have a good selection of cold cuts and bread options. For about $7.50, I often get a fresh roasted (I think they roast it there) turkey sandwich on a kaiser, which comes with a side (banana, orange, chips, potato salad, or macaroni salad). The potato and macaroni salads are not that great, so you might want to pass on those. The guys who work here are super nice, and often indulge me in my gratuitous requests for two pickles on the side. While the prices don't really make this an everyday lunch option, you can't really go wrong to grab a quick bite on the run here.

I think this place needs to go more upscale to fit in with the neighborhood. CHOP is across the street - there are many professionals who gladly pay if the Nosh was even twice as expensive if it moved up just a couple rungs up on the ladder. Instead I hear a lot of "mehs" from people in our building. For instance, a lox bagel should be packed high with lox and veggies and cost ~$10, not $2.50 with lox-speckled cream cheese.

Nice owners, but guys who prep the food could use a course on customer service and maybe a hearing test (the dude who took my order got it all wrong). I'd ordered a half sandwich and soup combo for $6.99. He proceeded to make a regular sandwich and then asked me what side I wanted. Confused, I said I'd take an apple. He then put the sandwich, the apple, and a pickle in a to-go container. I said, dude, I wanted the combo. So the guy takes my sandwich out of the container, cuts it in half, "drops" the other half on the ground, and removes the pickle. He asked what kind of soup I wanted and threw that in the container. My colleague said he comes to this place only when the weather is unfavorable. I say pass on The Nosh and just head to Wawa.

It's worth going to once in awhile for variation, since there aren't really any other delis around the area, but it's more out of necessity than quality. The sandwiches (usually a reuben) are fine, but not really anything special. Because of their geographic monopoly, they can overprice everything, which I understand from a business perspective but still resent as a customer. Contrary to other yelpers, I think the service is fine. The staff is pretty talkative (in a nice way) and I appreciate that as I wait in line.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by this place. I had a little time to kill before an appointment and it's sort of the only place right there. The staff was actually very friendly and polite. My corn beef rueben was very good. I was a little disappointed that my chips were just the plain potato chips and I didn't get to choose from the assortment for sale. Also, for $8, my can of soda should be included, BUT, it was good and they were nice and it's a comfy place to spend a little time, SO, I'd go back.

Its a lie. This place is meh, and I can only give it two stars because its meh, and its not really a noshery. The potatoes suck. The lox bagel is okay, but not authentic either...

The bagels here are okay - nothing to write home about if your home is New York (not that mine is - I'm just sayin.) But they make a decent breakfast sandwich, and they they have other stuff like grits and granola if you're not into the whole sandwich deal. What gives them the win is that the coffee is brewed into and served out of airpots; It doesn't sit in a pot on a burner, which would ruin the coffee after about 15 minutes. I cannot understate how important this is! Hello Wawa? I'm looking in your direction.

The Nosh seems to have a bit of a fractured personality. You'll eat, it'll be decent, even pretty tasty. It resembles a Deli, with nice plastic booths and freshly sliced meat. But the sandwiches have only the slightest lead on a variety of weird accompaniments, including curry, kabobs and at a disturbing amount of energy drinks. (Reuben, I give you pass on both your sauerkraut goodness and your piled high corned beef). The coffin nail for this deli enthusiast? They put AMERICAN cheese on a Reuben and the pickles are wimpy. A shandeh un a charpeh!

Not having time to get lunch at one of my usual haunts, I decided to try the close-by Nosh. Unfortunately, I'd probably have been better off making the trip. Hot corned beef sandwich: The first problem was, it wasn't hot. The second was, there wasn't nearly as much meat as the signs and advertisements indicated there would be; the sign showed a sandwich that had to be at least twice the size of mine. But the third, and biggest problem, was that the sandwich was badly balanced. There was too much mustard that was far too spicy, and it overwhelmed the dish. (It didn't help that there was little enough corned beef that some bites were just mustard-coated bread). Not a good dish. Cole slaw: For my side I picked cole slaw. It was oddly thick and chunky, and also tasted sour, like they used too much of a vinegar dressing. I couldn't eat more than a couple bites. Pickle: I'm not sure how, exactly, you screw up a pickle, but mine was oddly hard. A pickle should be crisp, but not that crisp. It was also somewhat bland. Usually I love pickles, but not this time. Service was prompt, and price would have been okay for a decent sandwich, but I wouldn't pay money for this kind of food again. All in all, not a good meal. I will not be back.

I came here to get a muffin before running off to business early in the morning. I got a lemon poppy seed muffin, and it was alright, but really too sweet. The service was quick, the place looks bright with nice tables, but as I wasn't here for squatting purposes, I don't know how long you can stay here without getting the evil eye. I want to give them more stars, but considering how overly sweet my muffin was, I'd have to say I've had better. However, I will give them props to proper pricing. I think it was fair price for the food.

This place is super convenient...more expensive than Wawa, but closer. $7.95 gets you a sandwich that's just like the kind of sandwich you'd bring to work except with all the fixings like lettuce, tomato, onion, and a pickle on the side. You choose a side, fruit or chips, and it's quick. Lunch meat is sliced on premises so no worries of creepy slimey stuff. I like that they piled on the meat; it's a pretty basic place.
