If you are a Temple student or find yourself with a Chinese food craving in this neighborhood, Temple Star is your 5 star place to go. If you own a car, it's more like 4 stars but hey, who's counting? Chicken and Snow Peas are awesome! House Special Fried Rice is AMAZING! Pour some duck sauce on that and hello food coma! General Tao's so good! (although I would like it to be spicier) Love the Shrimp Rolls! Don't forget the "crack" tea. Come get your cheap food fast here, they also deliver and often give you free stuff when ordering large quantities of food (so tip well you cheap skates) I've been to Temple Star 20 times and gotten delivery another 20 or so times, never once was I disappointed.

My roommates and I have gotten Temple Star delivered many times, and it is AWFUL! They give you an estimated time and do not arrive until long after their estimate. The food is decent for the cost, and the service is definitely sub-par. We have had to cancel the order and order pizza due to the long wait. Temple Star does not deserve the money they get.

This was my favorite place when I went to Temple. Great, greasy Chinese food thats sure to have you regret it the next day. I've loved every meal I've had here. Great late night spot, open till 4 am i think.. The iced tea is addictive.

Yes they're open late. Yes they deliver. But your body will hate you. In the morning, you'll kind of hate yourself. Get some easy mac, freshmen.

Love Temple Star! The steamed dumplings and homemade ice tea are my favorite. If you're craving cheap Chinese and you're in a north Philly follows the aroma of fried goodness to Temple Star.

Since I got tired of China House and had never tried Temple Star, I decided that since I was on a Chinese kick, I'd give it a chance. The first time, the sesame bean curd was a tad spicy for my taste (didn't expect that), but most recently I tried their sweet and sour chicken, and it was probably the best I've had in quite some time. The soup and egg rolls (I got the pizza roll and the vegetable spring roll) were great as well. Even though it's rumored that the food here only tastes good when you're drunk, I beg to differ. I've ordered it sober and it does the trick. Delivery is estimated 30 minutes but that being said I think the food came even faster!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
