The first thing I learned after I moved here to Philadelphia was that very few restaurants know how to make authentic, delicious- tasting Italian food. Romans is the closest I have come to a New York style pizza in the 15 years that I've lived here. In Roxborough The crust is decently thin, yet not crispy. Nor is it thick and spongy, sticking to the roof of the mouth and everything else. The sauce tastes like real pizza sauce, and not just bottled wanna be Italian tomato sauce. In fact, I would go so far as to say it is quite delicious. My husband is a big fan of their cheesesteak Stromboli, and if I didn't have to watch all those calories I would be eating that, too. They are one of the few Italian restaurants in our area that appears to know how to make an egg plant Parmesan sandwich correctly. The egg plant is sliced nice and thin, breaded and deep fat fried to perfection, and then baked gently in tomato sauce and served on a crusty Italian hoagie roll. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! Thanks, Romans, for filling that void of yummy Italian food that has been plaguing me ever since we left New York! And, pass me the grated cheese, please!!

If they were the only place delivering, I'd try them again. But, if there are other options with equal or higher star ratings, I'd recommend trying them. Friend and I ordered up Penne Vodka (add small salad with Caesar dressing and garlic bread), Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, and 10 buffalo wings. The only thing reasonably priced for the quality and quantity we received were the wings, which were on the small side. Penne Vodka was fine. No option to add a protein, and limited protein sides. Sweet sauce. They do parm style with the cheese on top. It was fine.....but the iceberg lettuce salad would have been trashed if the Caesar dressing hadn't been so good....and, of the two garlic breads, one was okay, and one was stale. Alfredo dinner was described as coming with broccoli. There was no broccoli. Chicken was a bit touch. Sauce was acceptable, though needed seasoning to make it through the entire thing. Cook on both pasta was fine. No al dente, but not overcooked. The kicker is that the portion size to price ratio is what I'd expect if ordering from a nicer italian delivery place in NYC. For these prices in PA (where I was born and raised), kind of outrageous to spend $14 on mediocre alfredo and $12 on overly sweet penne vodka, with questionable add-ons. Delivery time was adequate. Delivery guy was nice. But spending $42 for two pasta dishes, one app, and wasted add-ons for delivery in PA? I really don't think so. My add-on: we ordered from here because my friends neighbors swear by their pizza. So it might be worth trying for that type of cuisine.

The guys that work here are a little weird an quiet, but the pizza is really delicious. It's hard to find a good pizza. It reminds me of good Jersey shore boardwalk pizza. I order through grub hub to avoid interaction anyway, so as long as the food is good, I'm happy. One time I ordered tomato pie and got regular pizza, but it was still delicious so I'm not mad about it.

All and all not a bad place. Didn't get to try the pizza during this order, but might have to come back and test it out. Ordered a sampler platter and buffalo chicken salads. The salad was very run of the mill with a couple of pieces of buffalo chicken, an inberg/romain combo, croutons and parm cheese. Nothing too exciting. As for the sampler platter this was a kick of fried food. Prob one of the best varieities I've ever seen on a menu. For seven bucks and change this sampler included, 2 chick finegers, 2 mozz sticks, 2 fried eggplant, 2 broccoli bites, 2 stuffed mushrooms and maybe one other thing. My order came with 2 honey mustards which was great but should have opt for one and one marina. Descent place for apps, not so great on the salad front.

False advertisment!! Put a menu in my door with a coupon said $18 for two pizzas and a coke order the pizza and its $35! I ask why.. Im told (rudely) the ad is wrong its $21 and O its also extra for anything but a tomato pie (coupon doesnt say this). Extremely rude about the entire thing and the pizza was just meh. I refuse to go back and i hope someone gets them in trouble for switching prices and not honoring coupons.

I'm a huge fan of great customer service which this place does not have. My dad loves this place and is a loyal customer. I definitely have to say they have the best pizza in the neighborhood. Their white pizza is amazing too. If the staff was kinder I'd give it five stars.

The taco quesadillas were amazing! Pizza and wings were good, too! I was surprised by so many negative reviews. There are so many different options on the menu; I look forward to more delicious experiences.

My wife and I used to order out here a few times a week. A few months later I noticed my love handles were growing. I had to put this place on hold for a while.

You could be a valued customer and still get treated like shit. When I tell you I was a valued customer I mean it. I eat out alot my family order from at least twice a week. And finally when I moved out My own I order from here once a week cause of good selection of food an not bad neither but tonight was backbreaker for me. They had made a mistake. My wife order a flaming rooster sandwich, some the mistake that for tiramisu ... How do you do that, not the point. Point is I called back and goes sorry about that but hey i'm going to charge you the price difference for my mistake. What happen to pleasing the customer especially someone who spends as much money at your establishment as I do. I guess a $3 difference is worth more than my 20$ $30 every week! Will not get my business anymore. If I could not give any stars I would!

I really really really hate writing bad reviews, but I really can't bring myself to add any more stars. A friend and I were sooooo hungry and tired of our usual Papa Johns so we thought we would give Roman's a try. The delivery took about an hour or more (did I mention we were hungry?). The large pizza was small, and not so great. What was even worse were the wings which tasted undercooked and old all at the same time. One of the wings had no meat on it at all. It was completely bone! My only hope is that they can get better, but I probably won't be trying to find out if they do.

I came home to a menu on my porch & decided to try their margarita pizza. Unfortunately, it was no good. There was little to no cheese on it & the crust was too thick. I paid with my debit card over the phone & I guess they didn't mark it down - the delivery man was expecting cash & had to call to see what was going on when he got here. A couple of days later I also noticed that they double-charged me & I had to call both them & my bank to get the charge removed. All in all, it just wasn't a really good first impression. Highly unlikely I'll order from them again.

It's been over a year now since I have visited this place. It's funny reading the other review since my problem with the owner was over a menu as well. I received a menu in my door with prices and the menu stated that a salad came with the meal The menu was no older than 2-3 months when I received it to the time I went in. I ordered a shrimp scampi platter and asked where my salad was when I picked it up. He said the salad costs more for a total of $14.45. The price of the scampi alone was more than what a nearby pizza establishment "Mr. P's" charged for a salad and bread. I also showed him the menu on the counter which backed what I was saying and he said those were old and pulled out another menu. After arguing with him he also said sarcastically-"Then go to "Mr. P's then!" So because of the big mouth owner-that is exactly what I have been doing and telling everyone I know as well. The pizza was a good value-really big but the steaks, pastas and sides were average at best. I only miss the cheap big pies for the kids but for him being an azzhole, I'll get over it.

I live near Roman's and have been ordering from them maybe once or twice a month since I moved into the area. The food is reasonably priced, always good, and there is a TON on the menu. I've seen a lot of negative reviews about the guys who work here, but they've always been nice to me, we shoot the breeze about the Eagles, the weather, and whatnot.

Roman's was pretty good, but I'm a little disappointed by their buffalo chicken pizza. The chicken was in big chunks so the majority of the pie was just cheese with buffalo sauce. Don't get me wrong, it was still pretty good, but not the best. I'd definitely go somewhere else for Buff/Chick, but if you want the more traditional pizza (pepperoni, sausage, etc.) then this is your place.

I've been ordering from here for years. Overall, great quality-homemade Italian takeout cuisine. We've had most items on the menu over years and are rarely dissatisfied. Quick delivery! Also they recently got GrubHub which makes ordering food SO much easier.

Ordered for the first time, after having a random menu left on my porch, and I'm always up for discovering new great pizza in the hood. Unfortunately, this was an unfortunate exploration. Pizza was undercooked, and pathetically light on toppings. I can't say anything positive AT ALL about this food.
