Not much to look at from outside in strip mall location. Found it by chance and decided to try their small spinach and ricotta calzone. Was huge--their large sized one must be the size of a football. Ate half of it inside and took the rest to go for lunch the next day. Reasonable prices and good service. Probably the best calzone I've ever had.

No frills strip mall pizza place. I usually stop there for a slice when I'm doing laundry at the laundromat next door. They always have plenty of slices ready and a decent drink selection too. Fast, friendly service !

I've been eating Pina's food for many years. In fact, since they opened. The pizza I would rate a 2. It's doughy and greasy and lack flavor. The strombolis on the other hand are delicious. If you are wanting a good pizza try Alex's in Roxborough or Tonellis in Lafayette Hill.

This place is a classic standby in the area. Whenever you don't feel like cooking or going someplace with difficult parking - Pina's is there to ease your stress. I have been here countless times over the years and I have never had a bad experience. Even though I have moved out of the area, I still stop in because well it's just so darn convenient! There is never a wait and the restaurant is never crowded. The food is not the most spectacular thing but it's fast and inexpensive home cooking that's easy on the appetite. I love their Hawaiian pizza and I've also had some really great gnocchi here. The pasta sauce is yummy with a bit of spice. Definitely a family recipe. Plus it BYOB!

My sister came to Pina's yesterday with her three young children and one of their friends who is special needs. The baby was whining and the special needs child has some outbursts every once and a while. The manager came over to the table and said control your kids or get out of my store. NEVER have I been so embarrassed at a PIZZA place. I would never go to a nice fancy restaurant with my children and they were not causing any harm to anyone if you want to run a store that is completely peaceful then don't sell something that children eat EVERYDAY!! I thought it was very rude to say that to a mother that had a baby and a special needs child. Disgusted. Will not be returning.

Decided to switch things up a bit and order from another local pizza shop in the Roxborough area. BIG mistake. We ordered hot wings, cheese fries and a large pizza. The amount of grease was unpalatable. I don't work in the restaurant business but I'm pretty sure that either the grease was extremely old and had to be changed or they did not shake enough of the grease out. Either way, the wings and the fries were disgusting. The wings were tiny and just way too greasy to eat. When biting into the fries, it felt like you were taking a shot of grease. We stopped eating both. The pizza actually wasn't all that bad (we ordered just a plain pizza), but the wings and fries were awful. I will not be going back here after that experience.

I have read the other reviews listed for Pina's and think they are missing what makes this place a local gem. Their pies and sandwiches are very good especially for the price but what makes this place unique and worth going to are their specials and dinner menu. They are a great value and made with great affection. You will not get a better meal at a restaurant for twice the price. Pina's is family owned and run. The son has worked in some of the best kitchens in Philadelphia and it shows.

Snagged up two large pies on a Saturday night at 6pm. The pizza was ready fairly quickly after I called 20 minutes earlier and fries were ready too. The pizza overall was excellent. A real crowd pleaser. Their large stacks up to 18" which is an extra 2 inches compared to other places in the area and the price will keep me coming back. Of the two pies though, they were each in differently designed pizza boxes, one read Pina's while the other was a more generic design. One of the pizza's was a little more well done than the other which may explain another reviewiers "burnt" experience. There was plenty of cheese that was extra salty with a good mild sauce and what appeared to be freshly made dough. Also, the atmostphere inside the adjacent restaurant seemed really welcoming which might intice me to dine in. Also, it says its a BYO so that's a huge plus. One of the best pizza's in the area and can't go wrong with the price.

I gotten take out from Pina's. The person behind the register always seem to ignore the customer. There is one laminated menu for the whole place. So only one customer at a time can look what they want to order. Super. After being ignored at the take-out counter, I decided to try out the restaurant part of Pina's. Exactly the same menu. The waitress was very nice. My issue us with the food quality. My entree of mussels with pasta came with garlic bread and soup. First, the shrimp bisque was terrible. It tasted like creamy tomato soup. All I tasted was a tomato-y gloop. No shrimp. I added hot pepper flakes and crackers. It was inedible. Next came the garlic bread. It was pretty tasty and on a hoagie roll. I just wish it was delivered with the meal; it got cold really fast. The piece de resistance was the holy mess that was the mussels with pasta. I chose penne pasta. The mussels were undersized and when opened, were shriveled up bits of nothing. Thumb nailed sized. The pasta was in a waterery, and I mean watery, puddle of tomato and basil sauce of some kind. I told the waitress I was unhappy with the sauce and she brought me a soup bowl of more of the same sauce. The penne was literally swimming in the "sauce". Not one bit of sauce stuck to the pasta. Ate the bits of mussels, but penne was inedible due to the sauce. I ordered a side of meatballs and they were adequate and the sauce was thick. I know they could make a thicker sauce. My meal came to about $20 with a tip. I left hungry.

I think Pina's is one of the best pizza's around. Whether we pick up or call for delivery, it always seems to be ready in a short amount of time. Their prices are very reasonable, and they always have coupons on their menus. I've never eaten in there, but I was surprised to see that they had an actual dining room. I can also tell you that they have very good french fries (I always ask for extra crispy)- and the order is huge! My boyfriend liked their stromboli, although he said it was not his favorite.

I've been going to Pina's for a lot of years now. It continues to offer good food at reasonable prices. In the past two years (since my last review), I've had nothing but good experiences. The waitresses are efficient and the guys behind the counter are always friendly. I'm a huge fan of their cheesesteaks -- the meat is tender, juicy, chopped as I prefer and flavorful. The salads are well prepared and huge. I very much like spaghetti with clams in white sauce. Their garlic bread is to die for! Calzones are large, cheap and very good, especially with spinach with black olives (my favorite concoction. Pina's isn't a destination dining spot, but if you're driving down Ridge Pike from Montgomery County to/from Roxborough, it's the best place to stop for a casual meal (in my humble opinion and based on 40+ years in the area.)

One of the best pizza places I have been to in a long time! Have gotten take-out twice. Friendly staff. Pizza was always ready at the quoted time and piping hot. Very cheesy and flavorful. And cheap for Philly. The take-out cheesecake was just OK, but that could hardly put a dent in the overall amazing pizza experience.

Pina's Pizza is a decent neighborhood pizzeria, not absurdly expensive, and worth a try. Called our order in around 6:30 PM, and was told everything would take 20 minutes. We ordered two large pizzas topped with pepperoni, along with two orders of garlic bread ($22 total). We drove down the street to pick up our meal and I only had to wait behind one person. It was a weekday but I presume they get busier on weekends? The pizza slices were pre-cut and greasy, as appropriate. Our pepperoni pizza was middle of the road: sauce was fine, pie not too crunchy (not too soft either), and ample toppings. The garlic bread (also pre-sliced) was garlicky buttery goodness, and the bread was on the softer side, covered in little garlic cloves. As a whole, our group was fed; I wouldn't hesitate to return to Pina's for pizza.

Pina's is easily one of the mroe underated places to eat in Roxborough. They have great stromboli (which are HUGE) and thier sicilian pie is the best I have every had. Sandwiches and pizza are just ok. I stopped ina two occassions for a sit down dinner and came away very stisfied and full. Ordered the chicken park with was a huge chickem covered in cheese and sauce. Excellent.

Decent pizza. Ordinary pricing (2 slices and a drink for $5.25.) Good place to grab a slice if you're doing laundry next door. They also offer a sit down restaurant that seems to cater to the elderly... Overall, I wouldn't seek this place out. If you live nearby you probably have been here. If you're visiting, drive eastbound down Ridge (about 2 miles) and you will find yourself a much better pizza.
