Pizzas suck but strombolis strange enough are the best I've ever had.

I don't know if I just have different tastes in cheesesteaks but I find the cheesesteaks at Original Village to be waaaay better than the typical, more famous, Philly cheesesteaks that everyone runs down to South Philly for. Good meat---check, hot, melty cheese---check, good rolls---check---minus the xenophobia and hype--check. I've had the pizza here too---it's good but nothing to really write home about. When you're hungry (and even when you're not), it gets the job done. Chicken wings are typically good---just crispy enough and I like whatever buffalo sauce they use.

You know a cheese steak is bad when someone who has never eaten a genuine cheese steak in his life, who has nothing to possibly compare the cheese steak to takes a bite and thinks, "Bleh..." I'm fairly sure I thought more than that at the time, but now I don't remember and all I'm left with is the disappointing experience in the recesses of my brain. It was filling though, and I was hungry so I made sure to eat it all. Note to self: make sure to get the food that is in the restaurant name. Hopefully they can make pizza well. Will be sure to give this place another go for that.

Ordered delivery from here the other day and was very pleased with our order. Not only did it come relatively quickly during dinner time, but it was pretty good. Ironically, the leasty tasty item that we ordered was the pizza. Granted it was simple plain cheese pizza, it tasted super generic. Kind of like a frozen pizza. It might very well have been frozen at some point. The cheesesteaks were super delicious. Super basic, but great rolls and great meat. A perfect meat to cheese ratio. Pretty large as well. Also ordered soem buffalo wings which were small, but very very tasty. Even the buffalo wing afficianado in the family really liked them, and she's super picky about her buffalo wings. They also took extra care in preparing the food for delivery which I appreciated, by making sure everything was well wrapped and leak proof. One thing to watch for though: The price on our wings had "changed" since the menu we had was printed. Not significant, but it happened. I don't know if we just got screwed or what but it seemed pretty suspicious. So a heads up on that.

Been getting pizza here for years! The pizza here is unique and delicious - love their crust! Broccoli bites are also good. Chicken cheese steaks are ok.

This review is for delivery. Ate in once - far from impressive restaurant. However definitely the tastiest pizza in the area. I started ordering from here for 2 reasons - they delivered to us faster than the pizza place right next door AND fell in love with the big square pie with bacon. Last night my husband ordered a little round 1/2 pep with wings & cheese fries. I wasn't even hungry but 1 look & I knew I wanted a slice. Seriously delicious! Idk much about the pizza biz but they somehow have better tasting crust than anywhere, except maybe Pizza Hut back in their hay day. We also like their cheese fries (whiz cup on the side). The wings were decent - no complaints. It's so hard to find really good pizza, unless of course we're at friends in South Philly. I recently ordered a large Sicilian & cut it up to bring as a snack to a party - quite a hit! Keep up the good work please Original Village!!

We called in advance, gave them our address to make sure we were in their delivery zone, absolutely said the guy. We called back and proceeded to place a huge order, totaling $86.75 and gave them our address again, no problem! We waited and waited and waited, then called. They said that they didn't deliver to our area, they had my home number, but never called to inform me!

Apart from getting my cheese steak order wrong, the food was really delicious. Good wrap, cheesesteak and potato skins (though they could do without the fake bacon bits among the real bacon). I've had their pizza before and it was a really amazing crispy crust. I'd recommend it, just make sure you get them to read back your order.

I don't know why it says they are located in Rittenhouse Square, but they are actually in the Far Northeast. As with my other reviews of pizza places, I order for delivery at work, and we have a diverse group. Original's has been our mainstay for several years now, and the girl recognizes my phone number and is very cheerful. We've never had a problem with getting our order delivered. The food is consistently freshly made and delicious. Over the past years, we've gotten items from every category on the menu, from the pizza to the appetizers. Their lunch specials are available for delivery and come with soda. Usually, I end up getting the antipasto salad. The portions of meats are generous and I end up taking half of it home. Sometimes, I even have enough of the meat left over for a snack for the next day!

Back in the day they had very tasty strombolis but not anymore. I drive 30 minutes to visit family and I ordered their spinach stromboli several weeks ago and mentioned to please add sauce. There was absolutely no sauce and it tasted extremely bland. I thought nothing of it but knew that the next time I ordered, I'd mention my disappointment. I placed an order this week on speaker phone with two of my family members and mentioned to the woman taking my order for them to add extra sauce because every time I order they forget to add it. Unfortunately when my stromboli was delivered without any sauce, I called to let them know. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! I asked for the owner and the owners daughter got on the phone and screamed like I never heard in my life! She swore up and down that I didn't order what I ordered and that she would have remembered. The three of us were sitting there in disbelief that this lunatic was screaming instead of apologizing once again for a discrepancy in her taking my order. She said I never said I wanted extra sauce and was screaming over the three of us. The funny thing is not only did her unprofessionalism lose a customer, she lost 3 loyal customers and their family and friends. One of the girls I was with called her back to address her yelling and she said she had to speak loud because of customers...big difference between speaking loudly and screaming. Liar. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done. Remember, there are many other excellent pizza restaurants in your vicinity.

Original Village, in my opinion, is not the fanciest place, but it's good if you're looking for simple, cheap (but delicious) Italian food. The Original Village experience, however, is not just available inside the restaurant. When I was in High School and spent my Saturday mornings and afternoons painting sets for the drama club productions in which I quite actively took part as an actress, we would fairly often order lunch from Original Village and have it delivered. From what I can remember, we'd always get pizza, a liter or two of soda, and an order of cheese fries and/or pizza fries. The food is well-priced and if you're eating in, the service is fairly decent. They also offer daily specials and most of the dishes, if not all of them, come with your choice of soup or salad, plus buttered garlic bread. My personal favorites are the fish and chips , the ravioli, and the stuffed shells.
