I just moved right around the corner a few months ago and I am so thankful this place is as good as it is. When ever I'm in desperate need of food because of a hangover this place is my cure. Don't judge a book by its cover. This place might look like a typical hood rat hang out but it does have great food and its quick. Also gotta give the lady who works at the counter some respect for having to deal with some rude ass customers. Love the convenience and food!

Vicky is a sweetheart. The food here is good for Chinese takeout. Do NOT think that this place is going to be exquisite. It is very sketchy looking and some people who come in and out look even more sketchy. However, that is what anyone and everyone should expect from a local Chinese takeout in an urban setting. Let's talk about the food. Let's just say that these guys are very generous and you can get full off of just half a platter. For the price of what you are getting in quantity is like them giving charity to you. It's crazy. The lo mein there is actually one of the best I've had for takeout in Philly. I usually order the rice combination platters though. For the quality of service and food, 4 stars is right up these guys' alleyway. Give them a try if you're hungry and wanting to get some quick food.

Great Chinese food in South Philadelphia! This place is a hidden gem. If you walk by it you wouldnt think twice. Its a drab location, very empty room that leads you to the cash register, and overall it looks like a place anyone would try and avoid. But get past all of this and you will be treated to some amazing chinese food. Not the sit down and stay type. Instead the quick take out perfect for dinner or late night snack type. I prefer the House Lo Mein, but really you cant go wrong with anything. Also for two people its roughly around $10 for two small dishes. As I mentioned earlier, if you walk past this place you probably will turn right around. But fight those urges and step right in.

Most people are going to wonder why i gave this restaurant a 4. Well its the same reason why people give rave reviews of a jackie chan movie. Sure the acting is horrible, but who goes to see a jackie chan movie for acting? This chinese restaurant is a cheap filling and delciious for the price. It has become a weekly source of food. Try the pork fried rice and four chicken wings. The chicken gizzrds are small but delicious. On the lunch special I suggest the beef lo mein /w Pork fried rice. $4.50

New China was a pleasant surprise. I had been dying for some good Chinese food and staying with my brother in Philadelphia and his girlfriend told me this place looked totally sketchy but I told her- yelp reviewers love it! And so we gave it a shot. I am so thankful that we did! We ordered the sweet and sour chicken and I will say it is the best I have ever had. The chicken was so perfectly cooked. .It was crunchy on the outside but not at all over deep fried like a lot of places do. It didn't make me feel like I was eating "fast food" like some chinese takeout does. The rice was good! And we also got Boneless spare ribs which were also cooked perfectly. I can't tell you how many times I have gotten them overcooked, rough, hard to bite, these were soft, like home cooked pork- again not fast food-y. The sweet and sour sauce was awesome. I couldn't have asked for a better meal! We ate the egg rolls 3 days later and they were still great! Now, that's fresh! haha I say, definitely give this place a shot!

Honestly, this place look SHADY at the first sight but honestly, the food is good and the prices are also great. I usually keep it simple with chicken low mein but out of the many times I went there, I also tried their sesame chicken, crab Rangoon, chicken chow mein and other and I was never disappointed. They are quick, cheap and good.. Perfect combo when you are home and don't want to bother driving anywhere to pick up food.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
