So sad that my family & I enjoyed moy fung for years unTil the father died. Now none of my family or i would ever go back there. The young people who run it are rude & appear to only care about money. The food is horrible. For no reason & no matter how polite I am they are rude, sarcastic & appear to be racist toward some black people. I saw a roach on the paneling & they did nothing.

I came here around 10:45pm, it was still open which surprised me. Living in Texas for 3 years has created a memory loss of the little things that matter to us big city peeps- like 24 hour food service. Anywho, the food was so good I decided to take my sweet ass time to take each bite. It's the sauce I tell you, the sauce! They use the large plastic soup containers for a nice ice cold beverage they call "Homemade Fruit Punch", which is Kool-Aide. I laughed so hard because I thought it was something special...it sorta was- they made it perfect. According to my mate, the area we were in was a tad "hoodish", that didn't bother me at all. Seems like all the great food spots are in an urban neighborhood anyway. Definitely recommend this joint. They have vegetarian options and although the customer service was madd rude and impatient, I still will go for the simple fact of great food...plus now I know what to get so there won't be any long pauses to order. Haha. My bad.

I'm a little concerned with other reviewers allegations of Roaches...before that it was an honest 3 star rating for me. The food is good ok. The House fried rice is really good. I like it. It's better than China King on Cheltenham. Not better than Szchechuan Mandarin in Jenkintown.

Been going here for years and my food is always on point. Best Chinese place in the Mount Airy area to me. John the owner and his wife have always been kind to me!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the food here is not good. Serves me right for trying to go anywhere other than China King in Cheltenham. $15 for a quart of General Tso Shrimp w/veg fried rice is way to overpriced for the quality of food you get here, quantity is a different story but who wants a huge plate of crap! The shrimp were tough, overbreaded, AND oversauced. I took my order to go but the restaurant looks like it would be nice for a lil casual date. But I certainly wouldn't come back for the food. Some of the shrimp even still had the shell of the tail attached! Never again. Too bad to cause they're one of the few places around here that offer Gen. Tso shrimp. Ahh well.

I would 1st like to say I have been going to Moy Fung for over 10yrs and the only reason I went that long was for their chicken Wings... That's the only reason I'm giving it 2stars. I would like to share my latest experience I ordered some shrimp Yok and their was ROACHES inside of my Yok, to make matters worst when I brought it back the manager John would not give me a full refund for all of the food I brought but only for the Yok.... The question I have is has it always been ROACHES and INSECTS in their food and I just never seen it or is this the 1st time... Don't no and can't answer that only they no how clean they keep their kitchen...... Now some people who will eat anything will say go to this place but I would say stay away...... No owner or manger of a Resturant should give u a problem when theirs ROACHES and INSECTS in the food.....

Hands down THE BEST chinese food in the city! I am very picky when it comes to where I eat so when my boyfriend told me this was the best in the city I told him he had to prove it. Boy oh boy did they prove it, the staff was very friendly and from the moment we walked it was very clean and ran very well. I was impressed that when you call in an order you get a customer number so there is no confusion when picking up. The sauces are very fresh and I LOVE the Shrimp Egg Foo Young and the shrimps are quite a bit larger than what I would get from other places. I actually don't care about the neighborhood the food and service is so well worth it

Good food overall I haven't been a fan of Asian food lately but if I had to suggest one it would be here.

I have been a customer at Moy Fong's for over 25 years and the food is consistent, portions are well worth the prices. #1 in Philadelphia, Montgomery & Delaware Counties. I've searched all over the city including Chinatown and South Jersey and their is no comparison that Moy Fong has the best Chinese food regardless of the location. Side note: I have a friend who cleaned the kitchen and was told it was exceptionally clean. Just went there this week; I try to visit once a month!

I've been to Moy Fong quite a few times and their food is consistently good. I'm surprised that a restaurant in the war zone of West Oak Lane actually has a place to eat-in, but I've experienced no problems (so far) here. Their portions are enough for two (perhaps three) people, but for some reason, I don't mind that here. You get all that good food for a great price - and the meal can last for several days! Anything on the menu here is worth trying. My favorite is the General Tso Chicken. Their wanton soup has a great broth, too. The service here is friendly and quick and the staff have a very good command of English. If you're looking to try a Chinese restaurant in a different part of the city, this is it!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
