I am on a business trip with hubby and staying at the Sofitel. I've been to this bar twice. The first time was for a delightful light lunch after we flew in. The second was to do some work, enjoy a glass of wine and snacks. Both times my visit was delightful. Food/ drinks were top notch and the staff very attentive. I'd recommend it!

This restaurant is quite generous with appetizers. The service is also good.. The quality of the appetizers is pretty good as well. Entrée prime rib tasted excellent the portions were small. Csliced turkey was excellent. The diversity of cheeses that one long with a small salad bar were wonderful. Included goat cheese blue cheese etc. salad dressings were fine The wine - Cabernet - was slightly above average. Dessert menu was good but not great.

Nice updated bar to meet for a drink in the heart of the city. Good mix of locals and out of towers at the bar. Disappointed in the soggy popcorn that they should have been embarrassed to have on the bar.

Foie gras dumplings are awesome. Perfect mix of savory and sweet? The ambiance is upscale/trendy but still casual. This is truely a "lounge" where you can spend the night sipping cocktails, sitting around with friends, and when the mood strikes, there are plenty of interesting things on the bar menu to snack on. Depending on the group(s) inhouse, the lounge can get a little crowded, but on most nights the noiselevel is low and there's plenty of room to sit down.

Straight up if I could give this place a 0 star I would. The food is meeh and waay overpriced but that is not even the problem. The problem is that the waitress attempted to take my $5 tip and make it $50. My meal which consisted of eggs and bacon and my wife's bagel and lox came out to around $47 and the service was not so great so we left a 10% tip. I mean for that price you would expect the waitress to at least check on you once in the whole meal and ask to refill your drinks. Well when we checked out the front desk the next day they didn't even review the charges and just placed them in an envelope and handed it over. I have been to many 4 star hotels and even in hotels with less stars it is customary to review the extra charges before checking out. They would have almost got away with it if it weren't for my wife complaining that I made her buy a 100$ breakfast. Huh, there was no way I said. I went back to the front desk and made them pull the check and sure enough $5. I should have really told them to give me my $5 tip back as well but I guess I'm just too nice. They chalked it up to a mistake but there is no way because the total I wrote was $53. They apologized but is that really enough? I think not a complaint directly to management is more in order!!!

Came here with a group of ten--it was one of the few places with room for all of us to sit. I liked the chic ambience of the bar and the drinks were very tasty. Our waiter was really attentive and it was nice not to be fighting our way to the bar every time we wanted a drink! It was not too crowded even though we were there late on a Saturday night. This would be a perfect place to go for a chill, slightly swank time.

La Bourse is right in the Hotel Sofitel and offers revelers a snazzy place to relax, a clear view of 17th Street, and, best of all, cushy couches. When I was there, the crowd was somewhat thin but it was early evening. The venue's chic to a fault - I felt way underdressed! The bartender on deck expertly served our party, all who had semi-pricey drinks (AND enjoyed them) except me. A friend offered to buy me a little something but I needed my head screwed on straight so I could get to where I was going to be later that night... where I would be drinking, of course! Do stop by for a cocktail.

Hotel bars... Always entertaining, usually pricey. La Bourse fits the description well. It offers a clear view outside while you enjoy your drink in the comforts of their awesome couches or high bar chairs. The bartenders pour a fair drink, so at least you won't feel like you are paying for ice and water.

Nearly 5 stars - what a great place to sit and have a drink (try the house made ginger ale - so perfectly refreshing) or a franglo-pub lunch. The house burger is quite good and comes with frites AND a nice green salad. A good place to meet a client, conduct an interview or just hang out.

Let's face it, few things go better with a hot plate of buffalo wings in Philly like an angry Japanese businessman arguing with his wife :) Ahh hotel bars, gotta love em! So after what I'd like to call, "The Flight That Made Me Never EVER Want To Have Children EVER," I needed a damn draaank! Seriously, did you know that it was possible for a 2-year old to scream and shriek at the top of its lungs for over 4 and a half hours straight. I didn't, but I learned this and lost any sense of patience I thought I had acquired over the years as I sat strapped in a torture device known as US Airways yesterday. Holy Christ. Annnd moving on... I needed a drink and a stiff Belvedere with 3 limes (normally 2, but desperate times lead to desperate measures!!) and I think the bartender knew that this was a no joke kinda situation and definitely didn't hold back on the power of the hefty pour. Thank you Mark!! I was also starving since contrary to US Airways nutritional beliefs, a small packet of mixed mini pretzels and nuts isn't enough to keep you energized for 4 and a half hours with screaming child. And so I perused the bar menu and saw "Buffalo Wi." I didn't even read the "ngs" part and said, "Gimme!" About 10 minutes later a boat of blue cheese and hot sauce and crispy yummy mini wings appeared in front of me and they may have been the best thing that happened to me all day. They were perfectly crispy on the outside and moist, juicy and amazingly deelish on the inside. Paired with my top shelf Vodka cocktail and excess of limes and it was quite possibly the perfect bar meal. I could definitely see myself coming back here again for another fix soon! As for the decor, it's a fancy pants hotel bar and with that comes the typical hotel stayerperson and those are always fun to play with...err, talk to. The lighting is nice, the seats are comfy and there are big windows you can look out at as you check out passerbyers. :) Good stuff.

I went here because the Franklin was closed. Needless to say, the Bourse gets a star solely because their cocktails provided me with a chuckle. I had heard that their more common offerings are respectable, and my friend's manhattan was alright, according to him. But I wanted to start with something lighter in the spirit of summer. What I got instead of a fruity alcoholic beverage was lemonade and traditional Chinese medicine. Now I really have no qualms with the taste of traditional herbs, but this drink was really out of whack. There is nice decor and it's quiet, but stick to standard drinks instead of cocktails if you decide to stop by.

Truly a fantastic bar. I have been here twice, once with a partner, another on my own. On both occasions I was treated with grace and flare. Superb drnks. I recommend The French Lady.

There's something about sitting in a hotel bar that makes me feel like a hooker. Now, if you've ever met me, you'll understand that this is a laugh-out-loud kind of statement, because I don't really have that whole "Pretty Woman" vibe going on. At all. However, when a lady (and yes, I use that term loosely but whatever) finds herself perched in a place that is crawling with men who are visiting our lovely city for a limited amount of time and may or may not be trying to cram all the fun they're not allowed to have at home into a few hours, you would probably feel the same way. This is probably my favorite hotel in Philadelphia, so when my friend came to town, this was the only place I suggested she stay (which is why I found myself in the hotel bar in the first place - you may be wondering why I was here to begin with. So there.). It's really nice inside, and if you're in the market for a $12 vodka cranberry and the desire to feel "classy," this is the place to go. We had a lot of catching up to do, so we were mostly left alone, but if you are a chick who might be looking for some action from a dude with an expense account and a business card printed on heavy stock, then slither up to the bar and make some new friends.
