Jukebox and vinyl There's beer stacked in the corner Locals stacked inside The definition of local. I've never heard of it, and from the looks of it, they don't really give a damn about getting their name out there, or even making room for more people to hang out. I mean, an entire corner is filled with cases of beer. Which seems fine to all the neighborhood folks jammed on stools, at tables and in some cases each others laps drinking about a million of those beers, most at $2. This is the kind of place free of people who need to see and be seen. It's just good folks who want to grab a beer with friends on a Friday night.

This place is pretty small, but has this great vibe, a "where every body knows your name" type of vibe, that you just dont find in to many other places. They only have a few taps, but the bartenders are always really chill, and so are the other customers... I had the opportunity of watching a few phillies games here and it was a blast, cheering them on with everyone else at the bar, fo sho on my neighborhood bars list...

Not a bad place if you're looking for a potentially quiet night (all depends on what the Football & Baseball schedule is like). The prices are good too... and it's one of the few places that I've found that sells beer to go. Ok, I admit I gave them an extra star because I live a half block away.

Krupa's is the only bar I've been to in Philadelphia that is truly a dank neighborhood dive bar and it's the best place in Philly to get a $1.50 can of beer . . . they'll even pour the can into a glass if you want. The regular bartender is a hell of a nice guy and by the end of the evening there's a good chance you'll find yourself placing $1 bets on whether the next pitch will be fastball or an off speed pitch. There's also a good chance that if you make good with the regulars they'll end up lining up beers and shots for you. This is not one of those gimmicky neighborhood dive bars, this is the real deal. I don't think they actually serve food, but people from the neighborhood, or the bartender, will often bring home cooked food in and you can eat that. Also, I don't think they have any storage space, so the only decor is smoked out mirror glass and cases of beer lining the walls. It's tiny, it's dank, and it's for the neighborhood folk.

Authentic, old school dive bar. I'm really surprised it's still open. I used to come here when I was like 19-22 years old and I love to stop back in. You can get super loaded for $20.

Best dive bar in Philly. I'm very glad it is in the neighborhood.

Had a great time watching the Eagles with a neighborhood friend and a next door neighbor who is a regular at this local watering hole. Attentive bartender, friendly crowd of regulars, reasonably priced drinks, and they even had free sandwiches/snacks during the game. Will definitely be back for another round, happy that I stopped in to check it out.

This tiny, unpretentious bar is the definition of a neighborhood dive. I loved it the first time I went, and now I'm a regular. They've got lager and coors on tap for $2.50/pint and Yards IPA for $3.75. For Fairmount, that's tough to beat. Mmmmm, lager. I love this bar. Joe is the man. Honestly the friendliest, most personable bartender I've ever met. Killer moustache, too.

This place is great. I wish it had a grill so I could live here. Watching the Eagle's is an awesome pleasure with its crockpot of complementary dogs and plates of nachos. The beer selection is solid for a place of its size. Eileen hates me though.

How can you explain Krupas? It's like when you go to your distant aunt's house and they've got the game on. You're old enough for a beer, get one and shuddup. One guy got scolded for yelling the f word in the first five minutes of the game. Beers are cheap and the company seems fairly regular. I've never seen a bar with patrons so interested in the game. I rarely saw a cell phone out. Especially not during any plays. At half time, the "aunt" of the place, brought out food for everyone buffet style... it was bizarre but amazing. They definitely have a huge fan. You should check this place out!

Krupas!!!! The tiniest little dive bar with heart and soul. Krupa's is right around the block from one of my girlfriend's apartments, so any time I'm in town, we are sure to make a visit at least once. It is truly the type of place where "everybody knows your name." Equipped with a juke box to choose your own tunes and friendly bartenders, it's a wonderful place to start or end your night. Please note: Cash only!
