Holy moly...where do I even start on this one? I wouldn't normally write a review of a chain place, but the experience my family and I had here was just too exceptionally hilarious to ignore. So sit back, kids, because you won't be feeling too "friendly" after you hear about this one. My daughter had her 4th grade band concert tonight (she TOTALLY rocks the clarinet, btw) and afterwards we wanted to get ourselves a nice old sugar rush to celebrate her awesomeness. Normally we grab a cone and head home, but we needed some quality time together and Friendly's was the only place nearby we could think of that we could get insane ice cream sundaes and table service in the same spot. The menu that was covered in sour-smelling sticky stuff should have been a big red warning sign, but we were having fun and just laughed it off. When we ordered, though, it was comedy gold. Why, you ask? Because they were out of vanilla ice cream. And whipped cream. And just about everything else we tried to order. Dudes, this is an ICE CREAM JOINT. WTF? But we were in it to win it...so my husband & kid ordered ice cream cones...which were then brought out on plates. Uhhh, what? Then my little one ordered the famous clown head sundae...except that it was more like a naked clown head sundae. Oh, and it had a giant black hair in it. And then the clincher...her dish fell apart while she was eating. A dish that was fused together. My Blizzard rip-off was chock full o frozen M&M's that made it feel like my teeth were falling out of my head when I bit into them. And this was the point that we all collapsed in a fit of laughter. Our waitress couldn't have been sweeter and the manager took care of the check, which was indeed friendly. She even offered to give the kids ice cream to eat tomorrow...but they politely declined. So here's a lesson to parents everywhere - if you want to turn your kids off of ice cream forever, take 'em here. They'll be begging you for broccoli by the time you hit the parking lot.

They have a burger that has Two Grilled Cheese sandwiches as the bun. I want to know who does thier menu and shake his hand. Thank You for my 35 year old heart attack, it was all worth it. Gravestone: He lived, he drank, he ate at Friendly's

Friendly's ...yaaaaay! THIS FRIENDLY's hellssss no!! Ew the carpets are filthy and gross, the tables although "clean" were sticky and smelly. Whilst leaving I saw a busser wiping the table down with a cloth I wouldnt have used on my floor. Yuck. Sure everyone loves Friendly's but I am sure this one is infested with pests and more if the appearance is this yucky in the areas the patrons can see! Imagine what is beyond eye. If you are going to brave the elements and eat here, do yourself a solid and bathe in alcohol upon leaving. Antibacterial hand gel aint going to help you none!!

My husband and I went there this morning for breakfast while our auto was being serviced at pep boys upon entering there where only 2 customers in the place. It took about 15 minutes before our waiter came over to ask where we ready to order! We said yes, but could we have a menu?! Then we asked could we get a cup of hot chocolate and a glass of OJ that took another 15 min to come.! What's going on here? U guys are not that busy! Well now comes the menu, I asked could we have some silverware and napkins? She replied U don't have silverware? Uh no. Then our food came and guess what? It was cold! Never again will we patronize this friendly s very poor service!

I was here awhile ago for dinner - it was uneventful, our party crammed into a booth, service was fine (our waitress was cute, I remember that) and we had a good time stuffing our faces with fried crap. As far as I could tell, this Friendly's was just like all the others I've been to. I LIKE their ice cream, assuming it's not diluted in any way. After reading Carrie E.'s write-up of Friendly's Andorra, I definitely don't want to get ice cream there.

I wont usually talk about a chain place but this one is Bad The service blows, you often wait more than 30 minutes for your food, now during this time we dont see our waitress, except in the back of the place talking to a co -worker. The menu's were filthy mine had what (i hope) was clam chowder on it When taking our order she asked what temperature I wanted my burger, only to get it 35 minutes later cold and way overcooked, when she originally took my order she said nothing about cooking it to a medium rare 35-40 minutes later and cold she comes back to tell me they can only cook it medium well or above. I asked If I could get something else with a huff she snatched the plate off the table.. 15 minutes later my club sandwich arrived. Now if that was then end of it I woildnt have bothered to write this 20 more minutes for the check , we never get refills the waitress never asks if we want dessert. just drops the check and walks away. We asked another server to send our waitress back to the table she never comes back to the table. I asked to speak to a manager about the service, I was told he was "busy" and I could wait if I wanted to I have nothing against Frendly's the one on Germantown pike in East Norriton is fantastic, service wise.. But the one in Roxborough sucks ... NEVER again!

DO NOT GO HERE. The entire place smells like it has not been cleaned. The smell of oil permeates everything. We stopped by for a Sunday and were seated at a booth and waited to be helped for ten minutes. No one came to welcome us and guests that arrived after received water and placed their orders before anyone noticed we were there. While we waited, we couldn't help but notice other patrons expressing looks of dissatisfaction so we decided not to stay. After unsticking ourselves from the seats, we got up to inform the hostess that since we were being ignored we were leaving. She did not say anything in response and looked dumbfounded.

  • Mike T.

Well I read the other reviews a little too late. Sad to say the place is dirty. There is an odor that permeates the dining room that let's you know that cleaning isn't a priority. We had to wait a long time for our food. It seems as though the waitstaff has not been properly trained in as they seem to stand around and wait to be told what to do rather than knowing. I couldn't in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. I haven't been to Friendly's in a while, used to be a good place to go for a burger and some ice cream. Hey, franchisee " wake up!" And the restrooms are GROSS!

What a terrible selection of foods. I had to bring my own frisbees. Worse yet, the staff was very rude when I flung frisbees into the bathroom as hard as I could. Do not mention me.

  • Laura N.

I wish I could give this place a negative 10. They have the worst service I've ever experienced. I'm pretty sure our waitress got fired while we were there. It took her at least 15 minutes to get our drink orders and an extra 15 before we actually got our drinks. She was apologetic but rude at the same time. We had three separate people wait on us. You'd think with three people waiting on us someone would come back for our food order. Took entirely too long. Everyone's burgers finally came out and they neglected to bring out my grandmother soup. She actually had to find our waitress to ask for it. The manager apologized and took off a discount but by the time we were out of there it didn't matter. I will never ever ever go back to this location. Not to mention, it wasn't busy in any way. And the dishes they gave us for our appetizer were dirty.

  • Darcy G.

Holy Hell, I hate this place. Even without the kiddies at 9 pm, the quality of food is subpar. They were out of several things I ordered. Everything tasted canned or reheated. Yeah, I'm not expecting haute cuisine, but this is a step above vending machine. Staff seems nice, but from my observations kept making apologizes to the two tables around me and myself. Only go if you have young children, no choice or no taste buds.

  • Mike Y.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that thinks this place is awful. My girlfriend and I stopped in for some appetizers after a movie. The table was sticky. I should of got up right then and went to Applebees down the street. I forget which apps we got because I'm trying to suppress this place from my memory, but they were awful. It might of been chicken fingers, mozz. sticks, stuff like that.. Her food came out wayyy before mine so I watched her eat. My food took close to 25 mins for apps! I could of microwaved Stouffers faster. The food was terrible. I cant think of anything good to say about this place so I gave it 1 star. Go to Applebees down the street.

We had a friendly waitress, my kids food was good and i liked the chowder that came with the dinner i ordered. But I ordered the chicken broccoli penne and it was horrible (the penne was mush, didn't even resemble penne.) I sent it back and right away a manager rushed to make things right. He gave me a menu to order something else. But I didn't cuz I'm a short order cook so I really didn't want anything deep fried or from the grill if I go out to eat (I get it for free anytime I work, so kinda sick of it) which meant nothing else on the menu I wanted. When the manager came back to take my order I let him know that I was fine with the soup. He wanted to take my whole dinner off my bill but I ate the soup it was good so I wanted to pay for it. The rest of the meal went great, kids loved it. When the bill came I checked it to make sure the soup was on it. It was but to my surprise the kids meals were only $2.99. The waitress told me that I came on kids night. My soda was $2.49, for $0.51 more my kids had a full meal (2 burgers and plenty of waffle fries with drink and ice cream cone) ...that's a great deal. I'll go back again for this deal (whenever I want a burger and fries that is).
