'Pleasant Surprise' is generally thought of as a sleight, all that it means to me is that you are giving a compliment to the place over the others around it. That is exactly how I would begin to describe 'Flukes'. It's neighboring "competition" can give the area a bad name of sorts, young, reckless and sometimes not the best cliental. Flukes however is a break from the mold. The decor inside resembles that of a quaint down to earth bar you would find in northern liberties. The exposed brick and comfortable atmosphere makes it easy to grab a bite to eat(menu is very eclectic btw) or catch a game. The bartenders are extremely personable, namely because they are all friends of friends, those who you wouldn't mind grabbing a beer with yourself. They have an outside deck seating area that makes you think of being down the shore, very relaxed and appealing to hang out.

I enjoy Fluke's...there is a certain sense of nostalgia there since I celebrated my 21st birthday here. Their food is very good and they always have good music. If you don't go with a bunch of people, however, you will feel totally out of place. I made that mistake once.

Strictly speaking about the food--- Fried pickles = awesomeness. Served with a spicy sauce. Never had them until now but I am a fan. I got a chic Caesar wrap which is almost impossible to mess up, however the chicken was on the dry side. My bf got chicken "fingers" which actually were breaded chicken cutlets?!?! I mean huge whole chicken breasts that you would eat with a knife, fork and a side of rice haha. Which isn't necessarily bad but it's not chicken fingers! Others got a cheesesteak which looked really good and a hot roast beef sandwich. No complaints there. Sandwiches come with house made chips which are yummy but some of mine were still soft and uncooked. Service was on the slow side...and we were the only ones eating in the whole joint so I don't know what that was all about. Nothing special here but the drink deals are worth the trip.

Not bad. They have new owners who are lame and act like they are tough but once you get over that it's an ok place for happy hour on Fridays

When I think about Fluke's, one word comes to mind: Average. It's nothing special at all, but I'll give them credit for their constant effort. It's a bar that's really not in the middle of a neighborhood, which is why I believe it struggles to be more successful. The bar is located in more of an industrial area. So, it gets a decent happy hour crowd, when everyone gets out of work, but then when that crowd disappears the place turns into a ghost land. I will say that the few times I've been there on a Friday night that it has been crowded. On Fridays, they have a band play during happy hour. After that, they switch over to a DJ that plays mostly hip hop. It's a pretty interesting mix, don't ya think? The beer prices are decent, and the food is average. Are you sensing a theme here? Average atmosphere...average food...yea, you're getting the picturel. If you're looking for a spot to just crash and hang out with friends for a few beers, than this place is certainly sufficient. The bar is large and there's two of them. However, if you're expecting a lot, this place can't deliver.

The place is conviniently located right off of 95, has parking a nice patio for the warm weather. Came here for happy hour and it was an older crowd of maybe a handful of people. As it got closer to 6, more folks started showing up. The happy hour prices are great, with well drinks at $4, beers at $1.50 and half priced appetizers. I recommend the nachos as they were HUGE and loaded with meat. The chicken tenders are big and really filling as well. They have a ton of tv's here so I imagine during a game it would be a lot of fun, but for a Tuesday, they had really depressing local news on every TV which was a huge mood killer. I would return to see what this place is like on a Friday night.

A great place for happy hour and for reconnecting with friends who grew up in the Northeast (Especially, but not limited to, Judge Boys and Hubert's girls). The food is good, the beer is cold and if you go there enough, everyone will know your name, just like Cheers. I got a real solid feeling for this place and if I lived locally I would make this a weekly haunt of mine. I know that the owners gives back to the community and helps out good people in need when they can. All around, this place is a five for all the right reasons. Now go have a pint and enjoy.

Really really enjoyed going here with buddies after work but one night after we were sitting at the bar happened to look over and saw a huge roach run across the bar. Haven't been back since. Sucks cause i used to like it.

Dirty dive bar. I know several people who have gotten good poisoning from their food. Dark dingy crap hole.

Decent place to grab a PBR or Coors Light. Their choices of craft beers gets about as deep as Magic Hat #9. Plenty of room to move around inside and lots of TVs. Good place to catch a game with unpretentious company.

Changes are happening at Fluke's and after not going because if getting really rowdy with the younger generation it seems as if with the change in ownership has done wonders to bring back the older neighborhood feel. The new bar on the outside deck opens up the deck space wise which is great and roomy not feeling cramped in a corner anymore. The new menu still retained the awesome Thai chili wings which are very good. So are the wrap sandwiches. Never had bad food plus happy hour deals are great on Friday with friends. The weekend will bring you acoustic music on Fridays during happy hour then the DJ will start playing classic dance music till todays hits. This a fun local hang out with your friends kinda place.

Lame-o bar for Lame-o people Yes, they have a deep fryer and the food is below average. If your idea of a good time is hanging in a loud ass bar w/ dudes listening to Journey ( side note....Journey used to be good, for many many years, now they're the soundtrack to Douchebag-ism) then "THIS BUD'S FOR YOU"
