Summary: Tolerable food (greasy beyond belief), okay service, typical campus eatery Disclaimer: I wasn't going to Currito with the highest of expectations. After all, it's a chain fast food place in the middle of a college campus. It wasn't horrific, though. Something's definitely up with the tofu. I don't know what it is, but it doesn't taste right. If you're a fellow vegetarian, either go sans-tofu in your burrito or bowl, or else go the quesadilla route. The quesadilla is certainly oily/greasy, but it tastes normal. Chips and guac are the usual fare that you'll find in most pseudo-Mexican establishments, but the guacamole certainly does leave something to be desired. I can't speak to the chicken/pork/beef options on the menu, but my friends (the 'meatatarians,' if you will) were all okay with their food. The other half of the story is their milkshakes. The Nutella shake is a guilty pleasure of mine, and it is heavenly (and a large component of the star rating that I gave them above). Long story short, if you want some relatively-cheap fake Mexican food and some pretty awesome shakes, head down to Currito! Tip: check out the hot sauce and sour cream & chives if you're getting the quesadilla. They all work together like a symphonic orchestra!

Wanna be chipotle. The workers are rude and they always give the vibe of they hate you. Anywho. I always get a build your own salad or bowl. The one thing they have that chipotle doesn't is the mango. I love mangoes. The mango smoothie is also good and you can add stuff like protein or energy or fat burner etc. there is a place for you to sit if you like to eat there. The quesadillas are pretty nice too. Only two stars because slow and constantly have something broken and they're understaffed

Food is pretty poor quality and over priced. There are many other cheaper and tastier options nearby (ex: every single food truck)

Not bad. I had the Bangkok burrito and got small, which I regretted as soon as I realized how small it actually was. For a dollar more you can upgrade to a regular which is appropriate burrito size. My gripe with this place is that it is greasy as f. I don't know what it is. The sauce? The meat? The tortilla? Something is so greasy that the bottom of my burrito was a mess of oil and soggy drippy tortilla! Oh well it tasted good.

docked a star because sometimes the customer service leaves something to be desired. also it smells like subway (the restaurant, not the El) so that kind of ruins it for me. whatever, let's say that is drexel's fault. love their hot salsa, i cant get enough of it. the quesadillas usually come out good and a tofu burrito always does the trick for me. i ask them to leave mine in the press a little longer so that its pretty crunchy. i'm salivating right now just thinking of it... mm mm mmmm

For fast food, this is fresh... prepared in front of you... healthy ingredients... and most of all... all of them are delicious!!! Especially the buffalo hot sauce. They add celery which oddly makes that burrito perfect. Price is pretty awesome too.

I used to be pretty unhappy with this place, but that was just because I didn't know what to get. The only thing worth getting here is the make your own bowl and just load it up with everything your heart desires. All the preset bowls/burritos are too limited and won't fill you up. But if you make your own bowl, you can pretty much put any ingredient you want with the only limit being the size of the bowl. I would argue this is even better than chipotle because of the sheer variety of ingredients - curried chickpeas, broccoli, Asian slaw, mango salsa, fresh cucumber, just to name a few. The chicken is marinated pretty close to chipotle standards as well. It will make a solid meal for just north of $7.

To me this is a typical burrito place. I never liked mexican, especially take out places but after adding their Thai Peanut Sauce to a Build Your Own Bowl I am hooked. Never go an hour or less before closing, they won't have any chicken left.

Drexel University has brought a number of new vendors to campus. One of them is this place. It stands as an add-on to a Residence Hall just off of Race Street. Being that I work right around the corner, I was happy that Drexel was bringing more options for food to the area. The neighborhood sorely needs it. Up until now, the closest places all had the word pizza in the title or operated out of lunch trucks. The sad thing is, this place is not very good. I've given it two tries to make sure that it wasn't just a bad first experience, but honestly, I found that the experience only got worse the second time around. The burritos are poorly made, not very flavorful, and the workers are kinda incompetent. I hate to say all that, because I really am happy that there are more places to add variety to the dearth of options in the area.

So this place is slower than a turtle in molasses. Seriously. Skip it. The guy behind the register looks like he's half asleep & it took 10 minutes for the other employees to give him $1 bills so I could get my change. It's no better than any of the other burrito/Mexican food chains out there. In fact Qdoba is a much better choice as far as quality, service, & speed. The only reason I give this place 3 stars is for The Jimmy Carter smoothie: a banana, peanut butter, skim milk, & non-fat frozen yogurt. Total heaven & it's a great quick meal fix if you're in a rush. Try this drink! It's a 5 star drink.

A co-worker and I ordered carryout at 12:20pm. Our office is on 7th Street. 20 minutes after we placed the call, Currito called us to say their delivery guy was soaked and went home. The woman told us our order was cancelled, but if we still wanted it, they could make it and we could come pick it up. Needless to say, we won't be ordering from Currito again.

I'm a long time (7 years!) Drexel student and live just north of campus now. After two major snow storms this week, my car's stuck in its parking spot, so I decided to try out this new Currito instead of Qdoba where I normally go for a burrito. Like most of the new fast food places on Drexel's campus, the staff is slow, inexperienced and indifferent, and the food is lower quality than any normal outlet of the same chain. I don't think the people staffing this Currito have ever been to a Qdoba or Chipotle, the chains this place is trying to emulate, despite there being multiple locations of each within a mile radius. They'd see how you run the line at a place like this. Instead, the staff is dreadfully slow and purposefully avoids eye contact with the people in line. I'd easily ignore all of that if the food was good, but it's not. I've never had a more tasteless burrito. It simply tastes like lemony rice and nothing else. The tiny portion of beans and toppings on the classic burrito had no flavor at all. They dare call a scoop of chopped tomatos "salsa". I won't be coming back to Currito. I'd rather take a 40 minute walk to the Qdoba or Chipotle and get a burrito with some flavor.

READ THIS: Food is poor. The smoothie machine is always "out of order" or so the lazy employees want you to think... Service is PITIFUL. Out of the 20 something people who work there only 4 earn my respect and take their job seriously. The rest are either complete idiots or hate you for your patronage. Service with a smile has yet to be spoken to these degenerates. One employee actually joked to her co worker that the buffalo sauce I just asked for on my burrito looked like ejaculate! I was PUT OFF FROM MY APPETITE and appalled at the lack of class and competence by someone making my FOOD. Save your self the grief and walk the 6 blocks to Chipotle, it is worth it.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
